TTC after miscarriage - January 2020

Hello all (and late Merry Christmas!)

Looking for TTC buddies in a similar situation! 👋

In September I accidentally became pregnant. We had planned to begin TTC in Jan 2020 anyway, so we were really excited. Sadly, at my 12 week scan on 25th Nov, I found out I had had a missed miscarriage and the baby had stopped growing at about 9 weeks. The week that followed was one of the most traumatic in my life, having failed medical management and then an ERPC. All this happened whilst I was in another country.

Since then my recovery has been okay but all I can think about is wanting to be pregnant again and have been hoping and praying that my period returns soon so that we can officially start trying.

This morning I have had brown discharge and cramping, so it does feel like AF is on the way. So I guess I am going to count today as CD1 of my first official TTC cycle?

I wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and if so I am so sorry for your loss and what you had to go through. It really is a horrendous time. 💐

Anyone want to join me? 💕

Unless it's a evap line of course!

BecsterG · 15/01/2020 10:42

@mlax if you are due tomorrow then I agree just wait. All this waiting is annoying. I miscarried at the very start of Nov too and I've had 1 full cycle and two periods. FIngers crossed.

I took two tests this morning a FRER and a cheap one from amazon. The FRER is negative I think but the other one I still see a faint line there. Ekk will have to wait until tomorrow I guess or Friday.

@StephyRose that’s soooo exciting! Keep us updated!

I’m a nurse, it’s high pressure and stressful so not good for TTC 😩

Symptom spotting - I have headaches and bad sleep/dreams. I’m constipated and boobs are still sore

Not feeling too confident though 😏

mlax · 15/01/2020 10:34

@BecsterG well I'm due AF today/tomorrow. So far no signs of it coming but this is my 2nd after my MC in November. So not sure how accurate it'll be in terms of my cycles being back to 28 days. I'm on CD28 today. If it's not come by say Saturday/Sunday I'll test again.

I've made sure there's no more tests in the house to stop me from going crazy!!

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 15/01/2020 10:09

non of us needs to see a negative pregnancy test after our miscarriages unless we have to
100% this. To see a negative again would be hard.

I want to be convinced and will test then. MC only finished 10th and we started straight away 11th, so I'm completely guessing everything but will need at least another week.
Of course saying all this, I bought 20 ICs last night 😆

didslysquiddlydoo · 15/01/2020 09:52

Oh my gosh, so many hopeful bfp's!!! I have everything crossed for you all! I'm 7dpo so still holding out a bit.. feel like I'm going to be tempted to test tomorrow 🙈😂

Another one who might be outing themselves here, but I work in CAMHS (child and adolescent mental health services)

Xx

Anny27 · 15/01/2020 09:50

@becsterG ahh yes the old torch trick. Definitley done that in the past!

@mlax yep I think if my husband knew he would be shocked 🙈🙈😇😇😇

BecsterG · 15/01/2020 09:29

@Anny27 I tend to do it by myself as I do it in the morning and he leaves for work at 6:30 zzz

BecsterG · 15/01/2020 09:29

@mlax This is me! I’ve just been holding under my torch and the line I thought I saw I’m not sure I can now. Maybe I imagined it. When are you going to test again?

mlax · 15/01/2020 09:22

@StephyRose same to be honest. I was holding mine in the light and moving it around to try and see a line which I did but it was only v v v faint 😩 my backache has now gone this morning so I guess it's just a waiting game for my AF to come today or tomorrow as it's been 28 days today since my last one.

@Anny27 I think if my partner knew how many times this month I've tested he'd have a fit!!! It's ridiculous how our minds go into overdrive when we want something so badly!!!

Anny27 · 15/01/2020 09:07

P.s did you test with your DH or test by yourself and then tell him?

I used to just test whenever and then when I was pregnant I told him and he was surprised but this time he said he wants to find out together! Which is cool to get to different experiences I guess but not sure he will be on board with how early I wanna test 😅😅😅

Anny27 · 15/01/2020 08:34

3dpo and 0 symptoms for me, not even got sore boobs which usually happens after ovulation! Guess I'll just see how things go. On the cycle I was pregnant my first symptoms were cramps at 5dpoish

StephyRose · 15/01/2020 08:14

@Anny27 not boring at all, I need to get into something else.

Thank you ladies for being so positive and upbeat and I really hope yours is a positive @mlax. Well after staring at mine for a good hour or so this morning 🤣I'm convinced its negative. If I hold it in bright light I can definitely see something but I'm just not convinced.

It's probably just self preservation more than anything.

Hope you all have a fabulous day 💗🌈

Anny27 · 15/01/2020 08:04

Ahhhh exciting so many potential lines!!!! :D let us know how you get on ladies

Wow a lot of teachers! I am afraid I am a much more boring Project manager 😆

Post miscarriage when I had to make sure the tests were negative, I took FRERs to confirm the hcg was gone and the morning before I had a hcg blood test it was a faint positive (not even a squinterbut a very faint line) and when I had my bloods taken that same morning it was beta hcg of 3 which is ridiculously low. Which shows how sensitive they are!!

BS9790 · 15/01/2020 07:46

With the ovulation sticks, do you ovulate whilst line is still present? Or once the line has gone? Sorry I have so many questions Blush
I'm finding it really hard to not know my dates and what's going on this cycle.

I think I'm in my TWW now, but wasn't actually expecting to ovulate until later this week... But sticks have gone from clear line to no line.
Was up in the night with pains, keep panicking about post mc infection ConfusedBlush

ChampooPapi · 15/01/2020 07:45

@Michette just hold out little one! Even testing tomorrow, I think the signs can be obvious sometimes (I've had two little ones myself) so i have to say your description sound pretty positive to me. But non of us needs to see a negative pregnancy test after our miscarriages unless we have to. Sending a bucket of baby dust to you 🤞✨✨🌈

BecsterG · 15/01/2020 07:44

@StephyRose I’m exactly the same. I’m 9 DPO and can swear I can see the faintest of lines if I hold it in a certain way. Worried I now imagine lines up though Grin
Good luck x

ChampooPapi · 15/01/2020 07:39

@StephyRose and obviously test again this evening and upload it immediately

ChampooPapi · 15/01/2020 07:38

@StephyRose oh my god yay! This is so exciting! I know , I know.... Could not be a 'go-er' as yet but come on, it's very hopeful 🌈🤞🤞

mlax · 15/01/2020 07:26

@StephyRose omg how exciting!!! I feel like I'm in the exact same position as you... I could see a faint faint line but not sure if it's just me dreaming it 😩😩 I'll retest in a few days.

My AF is due today or tomorrow and got slight back ache (I usually get these prior to my AF arriving) 🙄 but I have had backache for the last 2 weeks along with cramps... we'll see if it comes tomorrow I guess!

P.s not sure if I'm outing myself here either 🤣 but I am a 'senior legal claims executive' in a legal department within a tour operator dealing with injury and illness claims. Very long winded I know!

TerribleImagination · 15/01/2020 07:17

Lots of teachers here! 😃 I’m a fundraiser for a national charity.

So far I’m spending this week flitting between thinking I’m pregnant and then convincing myself AF is about to show - the usual TWW turmoil! 😂 I should be due today or tomorrow I reckon, but can’t be sure as haven’t had AF since miscarriage, but gave it a good go in my fertile week! Saturday will be 5 weeks since the miscarriage, so I could test now, but waiting until at least the weekend if AF doesn’t show up 🤞🏻

BS9790 · 15/01/2020 07:05

Another teacher here too.. Primary. Like others have said, love the job... Hate the paperwork, stress and never ending jobs. It's only the second week of term and I'm already running on empty!

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 15/01/2020 07:00

🤣🤣 ok be brave and wait. Its so hard though!

StephyRose · 15/01/2020 06:53

I cant @SweetpeaOrMarigold! 🤣 the more I look it at the more I think it is negative... will try again on Friday morning.

🤞🤞

Ejb86 · 15/01/2020 06:43

Another teacher here too. Primary, just returned last week after 3 months off recovering from the miscarriage. My lb has had a bad cold for the past couple of days and has had such restless nights. I'm bloody knackered.

@didslysquiddlydoo I tested...BFN as youd expect this early. My nipple has been so sore as my lb has fed through the night.
