TTC after miscarriage - January 2020

Hello all (and late Merry Christmas!)

Looking for TTC buddies in a similar situation! 👋

In September I accidentally became pregnant. We had planned to begin TTC in Jan 2020 anyway, so we were really excited. Sadly, at my 12 week scan on 25th Nov, I found out I had had a missed miscarriage and the baby had stopped growing at about 9 weeks. The week that followed was one of the most traumatic in my life, having failed medical management and then an ERPC. All this happened whilst I was in another country.

Since then my recovery has been okay but all I can think about is wanting to be pregnant again and have been hoping and praying that my period returns soon so that we can officially start trying.

This morning I have had brown discharge and cramping, so it does feel like AF is on the way. So I guess I am going to count today as CD1 of my first official TTC cycle?

I wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and if so I am so sorry for your loss and what you had to go through. It really is a horrendous time. 💐

Anyone want to join me? 💕

@Anny27 I would love to say in about 10 days....but my ICs will arrive tomorrow or Saturday and I will 100% do morning tests every day 🤣

StephyRose · 16/01/2020 18:34

@Anny27 sorry to hear your feeling down lovely. I found myself getting down in the last few weeks because I felt like I already was pregnant, why am I having to fight for it again? At least it feels like a fight as every day is a rollercoaster of emotions.

But you will get pregnant again and have a baby. Because you want it so much. And you are taking all the right steps to get there. 💗🌈👶🏼 this could absolutely be your month.

Keeping everyone crossed for you, for us all. ❤💗💙

Anny27 · 16/01/2020 18:17

@BecsterG yep I am trying to stay positive! If I am not pregnant it means I can go on the waterslidds when we visit centreparcs next month.....so a very small silver lining haha! When will you retest??

Sorry @mlax :( are you sure of when you ovulated?

@cruiser1 8dpo quite early for AF cramps so let's hope its implantation! 🤞🤞

@SweetpeaOrMarigold when will you test?

mlax · 16/01/2020 17:21

Hi ladies...

AF due yday/today so took a test and it's negative ☹️ here's to trying next month 🤞

Cruiser1 · 16/01/2020 16:58

Hi Ladies, the TWW is killing me 😰
I know what you mean @BecsterG I feel like the TWW has been going on for about 4 weeks already and I’m only 7/8 dpo 😩

Iv just started to get cramps.... they’re quite sharp. Getting them for the last 2 hours or so now on and off
Praying it’s implantation 😥

BS9790 · 16/01/2020 16:50

@FireflyGirl I'm only just in the TWW, I think I ovulated sometime over the weekend.
Tbh... Havent actually got a clue anymore.
Just winging it!!

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 16/01/2020 15:48

I'm in tww too, if I use MC D1 as AF D1.
No idea if I've ovulated but we've been DTD most days for a week to try and catch.
I have all the same symptoms as last time but I'm worried I'm just making it up Confused
The main symptoms that I had last time were cramps and nausea and it feels just the same, BUT I had all the cramps from MC plus nausea with that, so I'm swinging between "yes I'm 100% pregnant" and "this is still left over pain and I've not even OVd yet"

BecsterG · 16/01/2020 15:30

@Anny27 I also thought it would happen within a couple of months. I don't understand how some people just have to do it once to get pregnant and others can take years. I have a few friends who've caught quickly and whenever they've tried to offer me advise like try and relax etc it just annoys me as they have no idea how it consumes you.

You have to try somehow and stay positive and your time will come again. It's rubbish as I know nothing I or anyone says can make it happen or make you feel better but we're all in this together.

The TTW is the hardest. I've never been as impatient as I have been this time round. Felt like it had been weeks when I was only 6 DPO :D
xx

Anny27 · 16/01/2020 15:23

@BecsterG thanks lovely! That gives me hope that you have a little boy after 7 months trying! Yep I knew it could take a long time but sidnt expect it to be me as all my friends have seemingly caught quite quick!!

@terribleimagination it's a hard time isnt it! Hope we can be pregnant again soon 🤞🤞🥰

I find the tww much tougher then any other time as theres nothing you can do haha. Atleast before ovulation you can DTD and that's a proactive step haha

TerribleImagination · 16/01/2020 14:57

@MilsCookie thank you ❤️ I’m feeling really sad today, but I’ll pick myself up and crack back on!

@Anny27 So sorry you’re feeling so low lovey. TTC is just such a rollercoaster. I know what you mean though, I’d give anything to be pregnant again 😔

BecsterG · 16/01/2020 14:37

@Anny27 really sorry you feel so down. TTC is not easy at all and I don't know about you but before we tried for our son I had no idea it would take so long.

When we were TTC with my son it took 7 months. I was getting so down as the whole world seemed to be pregnant and it was on my mind 24/7. I decided in month 7 to stop temping, OPK'ing and symptom spotting, stayed off the apps and forums and just went with the flow. It really help my mood and I was surprised how much it changed how I felt. Not sure if it's related but that was the month we fell pregnant.

It's so hard but please please please don't give up. It will happen again, you just have to stay positive. If you are out this month why not try something different next month to help your mindset?

xx

Congratulations to all the BFPs! So exciting. And good luck to those coming the end of TWW.
Hopefully we’ll all be joining a BFP thread soon 🌈

Anny27 · 16/01/2020 13:58

Ladies I am already feeling so sad if I dont conceive this cycle. We have technically been trying for our first baby since June now so its already been 7 months really. Only 4 months of those actually ttc and the rest of it being pregnant/ having the miscarriage and recovering but it just feels like so long since we first decided :( and even before we decided I had wanted a baby for a long time we just weren't ready.

Sorry being a bit down but I was just so happy when I was pregnant and I want it more than anything again

MilsCookie · 16/01/2020 13:47

Hey everyone - wow this thread moves so fast I can’t keep up! 🙈

Congratulations to the ladies with BFPs!! So so excited for you. Sending all my love and wishes for a sticky bean this time and healthy pregnancy!! ✨👣💖🌈

I’m so sorry to hear AF arrived @terribleimagination, you must feel so disappointed 😔 But it’s important to remember that it is normal to take 6-12 months to conceive (although I know that’s really not that helpful when we’re impatient women and it’s the thing we want more than anything in the world!) Hope you are being kind to yourself. Keep eating well and looking after your body and your time will come. Hopefully in the next cycle!!

I am on CD22 and dtd again this morning and yesterday. Like @champoopapi I’m not sure when I ovulated and don’t want to miss it in case I haven’t yet! But going off previous cycles I’m expecting AF to show up around CD33 so won’t be testing till the end of the month. Trying really hard not to think about it and get on with day to day activities but it’s on my mind 24/7!!

@FireflyGirl I'm not in tww yet, will be soon though!
My opk came back as peak yesterday morning (7am) so assume I'll ovulate today & count tomorrow as 1dpo?

toomanyleggings · 16/01/2020 12:31

Do you know thinking about it. I wonder whether February is going to be a fertile month. When I tried a few years ago, I started in September, had three early miscarriages on the run and then finally got a sticky bean in February.
I read this article about 'killer cells' that run in cycles which might explain recurrent miscarriage
www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.newscientist.com/article/2121182-timing-when-you-get-pregnant-could-prevent-a-miscarriage/amp/

BecsterG · 16/01/2020 12:29

@Michette thank you. I’m 9DPO so really not a strong positive yet. You’re not out until AF arrives. That’s what I say anyway. Baby dust. Star

Cruiser1 · 16/01/2020 12:16

Definitely February thread 🙌🏼

Aw @Michette don’t give up hope, maybe Saturday 👍🏼

Michette · 16/01/2020 11:45

@BecsterG i can see it!!! 8dpo is really good!!
Fingers crossed!!

I tested with ultra early this morning and BFN. I am at 10dpo..

99% sure i am not pregnant now. But will test again saturday!!

And yes defo in for a Feb thread!!!!

Hey @cinderrose, it's bloody hard isn't it lovely, we are here all the way girl. Cd21 so getting on it as well today and this weekend, after our surgical managements we can't be certain of ovulation so just keep doing that deed 💪

cinderrose · 16/01/2020 10:41

Hi ladies! I have been reading this thread since it started, you guys have kept me sane for this past couple of weeks so I am officially joining now. I had a MMC at 9 weeks towards the end of November with medical management (twice as the first time didn't complete).

The MC really devastated me and people not talking about it or acknowledging it made it so much worse for me. Such a lonely thing to go through so it's very comforting to hear you all had similar experiences.

I am feeling ready to try again, on CD20 and getting almost positive OPKs so hoping to ovulate soon. So so so exciting to see the positive pregnancy tests!!! It's giving me hope!

ChampooPapi · 16/01/2020 10:26

@Anny27 I really hope you catch this month, October baby sounds pretty good to me 💜

ChampooPapi · 16/01/2020 10:25

@Anny27 god knows , I feel like I'm ovulating all the time 😆. My body has been playing a lot of tricks on me this month so going to keep at it this weekend but then I am soo done untill the end of the month when it'll either be testing or bleeding 🤞👣

Anny27 · 16/01/2020 10:22

@Champoopapi yeah we must be similar then as I am due AF 26th ish!!

How are you feeling- think you have ovulated?

ChampooPapi · 16/01/2020 10:19

@didslysquiddlydoo oh goodness another 👣, wow ladies so pleased for you all. Everything crossed for sticky ones, keep us updated with those line progressions! 🤞
