Hello,
I'm looking for some personal experiences and would love to hear your stories.

I am getting married in April next year. I realise at 36 I will be classed geriatric Hmm
We want to try and get pregnant as soon after the wedding as possible. I want to know how long it took to conceive if you're an 'older' mum?

My implant was taken out in sept, I have very regular periods....if that helps.

Should I start trying now?

Thank you in advance x

Congrats on the upcoming wedding. Everyone is very different, so its really an individual thing and no one knows how long or quick pregnancy might take. I personally wanted to be married before TTC. In hindsight, I wish I'd started sooner!

I started TTC age 34. GP refused any testing as I was 2 weeks off their guidelines for testing! Took 4yrs TTC with 1st pregnancy, but MC. A year later another MC. Now 41 and hoping to start IVF next month.

You may well be lucky and fall soon, but work out your priorities. If you were actually pregnant at your wedding, would that be so bad? Obviously you couldn't drink, but unless you were very pregnant, you may not even be showing. In your shoes, I'd start TTC maybe 2-4mths prior to the wedding. There is only a 1:5 chance each month anyways, but really depends how you'd feel if you were actually pregnant at the wedding? good luck x

I am using a fertility app. It's really good in the sense it tells you when you're at your most fertile.
I'm fortunate to not have any health issues and be very regular.
But who knows, it could be that my husband isn't fertile.
Women get so much pressure !

Congratulations Flowers.. well we started ttc when i was about 38 and i knew i was pushing it but we were never in the right position to try earlier. I had 2 early mcs then a miracle happened and i had DS at just 3 months shy of 41! I didnt even realise i was pregnant until I was 3 months gone! We tried for another but not seriously and it never happened so DS is an only but very happy and content. Good luck x

Second month just before 39th birthday . First month the second time at 41 .

At 36 (2 months off my 37th birthday) I conceived the first cycle we tried. At 40 it took me 5 cycles but the first one where we tracked ovulation which turned out to not be when I thought it was.

Yes, I think it's easier to conceive second time around.
I am thinking maybe march time to start for the wedding in April.
I can't imagine managing to get pregnant within the first month.

Another geriatric over here Crown Wink. I think you should start trying if you can (and obviously if you don't mind being pregnant for your wedding). We started trying at 35, and I had DD one at 37 (so it took over a year). Although in saying that, I then got pregnant on the very first try the 2nd time round- age 39 (but I think you're more fertile after having a baby).

Thanks ladies, thank you for taking the time to reply. Smile

Caught first month at v the age of 37, same at 40 for the next one. Very fortunate.

Married in September, implant out end October, pregnant in January, first baby arrived November at the age of 36. Good luck, don't hang about for no 2 if that's in your plans.
