Hi guys

Not sure about anyone else but i have found that that i have tried posting on various threads and sometimes your own post gets really lost which can be slightly disheartening. I thought i would start this thread for anyone who has just started their TTC journey and together we can share our thoughts and experiences.... i do ask that (not to be mean) that this thread is only for people who have just started their TTC journey to avoid disappointment for people who are way into their journey and who may be experiencing different things. My own story is that i came of the pill in September and have yet to get my BFP. I got my first positive on Saturday just gone and now im 1dpo. Be great to hear from anyone in a similiar boat! Xx

@Sausage1990 I have similar issues, the clearblue one has gave me negative days and flashing smileys but on days where I have had more discharge and felt I could of ovulated I haven't been given a peak smiley! I am on the amazon ones now and all negative however I dont think I am due to ovulate until next week (my cycles are long) so I will let you know how I get on with these next week! :-)
@peachypetite 3 months (first month I did run out of sticks mind) last 2 I have had alot of flashing smileys (last month 8 so I gave up as I wanted to save 10 for the next cycle) we carried on having sex but maybes we quit to early before AF arrived. I was planning around my app to begin with and now I have decided to just start from AF finishing till it begins! Bless you, hope your feeling good today!

peachypetite · 31/01/2020 08:51

Hi @Vikki90 how’s many months have you not had a static? Could be worth booking a GP appt if you’ve been trying to conceive a while? To the others - I’ve never been convinced by the hassle of the paper ones. However I am worried I’ve been basing ovulation around my app which probably isn’t accurate. So I’ve spent the money on clear blue as most people have written positive reviews about them. I’ll report back! Period is hopefully finishing today. It’s hinestly been the worst one in a while.

Sausage1990 · 30/01/2020 23:06

Hi ladies.... Does anyone feel that opk are a bit useless?

I'm using them for the 1st time this month to see if my CM changes are happening around ovulation but my tests are still coming up negative even though my CM has now turned thin an watery, which for me I tend to see a few days before EWCM... But the opk strips are still only 1 line.

I feel I do know my body well and usually my cm is pretty on point as I get af 2 weeks after ewcm and obviously in December we did conceive (even if it didn't stick)...

Anyone else find opks a bit rubbish and just not use them? I don't track BBT either simply because I can't be bothered with the faff... Thoughts appreciated xx

Jenna30ttc · 30/01/2020 22:27

@FirsttimeTTC thank you lovely. I hope you are feeling much better. Xx

Jenna30ttc · 30/01/2020 22:25

@Vikki90 awh thank you. You are so right once af turns up you feel like shit but then as soon as it’s over you get back to being positive again. I hope it happens for us all soon! I hope you are doing well. Xx

Vikki90 · 30/01/2020 20:33

Hey everyone! Been super busy at work so have just caught up on the thread! Massive congratulations @FirsttimeTTC I am hoping this is the start of many positives for the rest of the group 😊 @peachypetite some of my periods have been like that since coming off the pill...can spot up to 9 days before which is just ridiculous! I was the same thought ooo is this implantation, so frustrating when AF arrives. I am using clear blue also- let me know how you get on with them, I have had high days but never a peak day so have just stocked up on amazon cheapies to see what they say! According to Flo I should be ovulating next week, we have literally been having sex everyday / every other day (missed a couple being busy) @Jenna30ttc it’s going to happen for you, stay positive lovely...! I feel like shit when AF turns up but a few days later I get that positive head on, all we can do! 😊 hope everyone else in the chat is good, I can’t keep up! Haha xx

Wintergal · 28/01/2020 21:39

@FirsttimeTTC I totally understand how you are feeling. I am having the exact same feelings myself. Xx

FirsttimeTTC · 28/01/2020 20:56

@Jenna30ttc @Lucy5546 @AutumnCat thank you so much ladies. You have no idea how much better I feel after hearing your replies. I am so grateful for this thread and all of you lovely ladies! I need to just try and relax a bit and enjoy the experience. I’ve read a few of the other threads but feels strange posting on any, but I think it will definitely help.
DP is being totally wonderful, I haven’t had to do a thing around the house! He is trying his best to understand my anxiety and he’s being super supportive. I’ve been with him 7 years and I don’t think I’ve ever loved him as much!

@jenna30ttc I think it’s definitely may be good for you. Although MN is an amazing support network, sometimes getting so engrossed in talking to people makes things a little more stressful. Take the time that you need and enjoy the experience of TTC! It will happen Flowers xx

@lucy5546 thank you, will definitely PM if I need a chat! Hope all is well with you? X

peachypetite · 28/01/2020 20:45

Such awful period pain today. A while back the GP referred me for a scan but it came back normal. This also doesn’t help me with my worries about conceiving.

Lucy5546 · 28/01/2020 13:17

@FirsttimeTTC you are not alone. My anxiety is through the roof the last few weeks. The first few weeks are very daunting. I have tried to set little milestones every two weeks or so. Or something different to look forward too. For example a cinema date with the girls. This has really helped me relax a little bit.
Try break the next few weeks down if you can. Feel free to pm me if you dont want to talk on here. Id be more than happy to help if i can!!

Jenna30ttc · 28/01/2020 12:57

@FirsttimeTTC oh no!!!! Don't feel like that!! You aren't alone at all. If you need someone to chat to feel free to vent on here and im sure we would all try our best to help you. Have you called the drs to see a midwife yet? Try not stress either (that's the worst you can do) I know it's hard but the most amazing thing has happened to you. I can understand why you feel like that as you probably didn't expect to happen so soon.

Im okay I think for my own piece of mind I kind of just need to take a step back a little from the thread not that it hasn't helped me. But I think being on it constantly as I was didn't help me when it came to taking it easy/relaxing 😂. I'm still going to stick around, just might not be as active. I'm so happy for you. Have you considered maybe joining another thread where people have got their BFPs? They may be able to offer useful advice. Please don't disappear though and keep us updated with your progress. X

AutumnCat · 28/01/2020 12:51

@firsttimettc it's totally fine to be nervous and worried about it all and please keep talking to us! It mist feel quite overwhelming as much as anything xxx you arent alone! Hopefully we will all catch up soon and in the meantime there must be other threads for newly pregnant first time mums. Look after yourself and get the sleep you need and hope your partner is being as supportive as you need! Xx

FirsttimeTTC · 28/01/2020 12:21

@AutumnCat @Sausage1990 thank you both!

@Jenna30ttc I’m doing ok. I’m totally exhausted. It still doesn’t feel real, I think maybe I’m just totally shocked. Extreme anxiety and I’m totally nervous that things may go wrong. So I’m not really enjoying anything at the moment? It’s strange. I wanted this so much yet I’m just overwhelmed with anxiety and worry.
I feel bad even talking about it because I want everyone else to have BFPs!! It was so comforting going through everything with you all and I feel a bit lost with no one to talk to like I could when TTC.
How’s things with you after your little break?

Jenna30ttc · 28/01/2020 10:39

Hi girls @peachypetite @EithneBlue @fingerscrossed95 :sorry that I have been absent. You know the feeling you get when af arrives? I kind of wanted to retreat for awhile. Back to it again though. @peachypetite same as you my af was extremely light than usual and it also arrived 5 days early. I took a test just to be sure and of course it was BFN so on to the next cycle. @FirsttimeTTC how are you doing? Xx

EithneBlue · 27/01/2020 22:26

@fingerscrossed95 your phone really wanted us to know AF arrived Grin

I popped out and bought some clear blue advanced digital ovulation tests this evening. Husband took one look and said "oh crap, that's pretty serious" ... and that was before I told him how much they cost Grin Halo
Cycle 4 off the pill, Cycle 3 deliberately trying to time things right. You know, I intended to be one of those people who just chilled out and waited to 'see what happened' - I'm not sure how I went off the rails so fast!

EithneBlue · 27/01/2020 19:40

@peachypetite - how frustrating! I had that last month: on/off spotting from CD25 then AF whacked me hard on CD28. I assumed it was my body still not being adjusted to the absence of a pill? Perhaps that's the same for you? Sometimes I think it's just the atmosphere, though. The human body is weird. Fingers crossed this new month is yours.

peachypetite · 27/01/2020 18:46

Period is here but much lighter than it normally is. Will probably fully kick in tonight, joy. I’ve ordered clear blue ovulation sticks which seem less complicated than the paper ones I see people stressing about. I’m interested to see if it coincides with the app since last month I definitely had EWCM after it predicted I ovulated. I got a deal on them on groupon.

fingerscrossed95 · 27/01/2020 10:56

I have no idea what my phone was doing there 🤣

fingerscrossed95 · 27/01/2020 10:56

@Jenna30ttc I came on this morning! @Jenna30ttc af got me this morning :( @Jenna30ttc af got me this morning, how are you doing? Are you on any other thread now?

Hope everyone is doing well :)

Sausage1990 · 27/01/2020 10:06

Opk testing strips... Not syrups!!! Haha silly autocorrect.

Sausage1990 · 27/01/2020 10:05

@FirsttimeTTC congratulations!!!! Such great news!!!!

@EithneBlue thanks you're right. It must be a stress on the body plus the emotional upheaval. I've been using opk testing syrups and so far have either had just 1 line or 1 line and one very very faint, and my cm is still creamy. So no sign of ovulation yet.

Usually I get a few days thinner and more watery cm before the ewcm but I havnt had anything like that so I don't think ovulation is happening in the next day or 2..

It's so hard not to overthink but to put it in a positive light, DH is away all week for work so at least we're less likely to miss the fertile window. As of Friday he's home for good (he doesn't usually work away, this was just a 3 week stint as a one off thing)... We're not out yet 😉😊

AutumnCat · 27/01/2020 00:41

@peachypetite I'm sorry that's disappointing. But, as they say, you're not out until Af shows up :)

Meanwhile I'm definitely out on that subject. Never mind, here's to next month...

peachypetite · 26/01/2020 07:42

I’ve just done a test and negative. I’m so confused. I’ve never had all day belly ache before several days before AF! and such random coloured spotting. I still don’t have my period properly, this must be the slowest build up in history. Sigh. I was surrounded by children and babies yesterday all day.

Too many threads and looking for friends to go through the TTC journey
AutumnCat · 26/01/2020 01:31

@firsttimettc that's fantastic, congratulations!!! Xx

I am dithering over testing tomorrow when AF due vs waiting until its actually late. One minute I think AF feels like its happening, then the next minute I'm just as convinced that my sore boobs or lightheaded feeling are a sign of pregnancy...its a rollercoaster isnt it! Maybe the uncertainty is allowing me to keep my hopes up and it would be better to test tomorrow and get a bit more clarity, but then as we know you're bot out until AF shows. Oh what joy...

EithneBlue · 26/01/2020 00:37

@peachypetite - If it were me, I would test if AF hasn't shown by the morning. You risk being disappointed, but surely it's better to know?
