Hi guys

Not sure about anyone else but i have found that that i have tried posting on various threads and sometimes your own post gets really lost which can be slightly disheartening. I thought i would start this thread for anyone who has just started their TTC journey and together we can share our thoughts and experiences.... i do ask that (not to be mean) that this thread is only for people who have just started their TTC journey to avoid disappointment for people who are way into their journey and who may be experiencing different things. My own story is that i came of the pill in September and have yet to get my BFP. I got my first positive on Saturday just gone and now im 1dpo. Be great to hear from anyone in a similiar boat! Xx

@MrsH0692 aww how fab!! I can only imagine how good that feeling must be! 😊 all the best things come when they are least expected! You’ll have to keep us posted on everything 😊 xx

MrsH0692 · 17/02/2020 08:38

@Vikki90

Literally gave up OPKs etc for the month and just forgot about it all for a bit so I could enjoy our honeymoon and not be obsessive.

I was unpacking our case in our last hotel and saw all my AF bits and bobs and thought, ohh I’ve not come on and I’m due haha. So yeah, just late.

Today actually I feel very sicky, but we travelled for like 24 hours yesterday and I’m jet lagged so could be that.

Did a digital test this morning and seeing the word pregnant was so so nice. Xx

Vikki90 · 17/02/2020 08:00

@MrsH0692 huge congratulations lovely! That’s fab news! 😃 did you have symptoms? Or just late on? X

MrsH0692 · 16/02/2020 15:48

Thanks guys. My OH has instantly changed and is the most caring person in the world hahaha... I like it! Xx

peachypetite · 16/02/2020 10:33

Congrats mrs h.
To everyone still trying - has anyone found it has helped to make lots of plans around the time your period is due to try and keep busy? I don’t want to feel as down as i did last month.

@peachypetite glad you got your static! You never know, it might’ve been enough. But if not, your static will give you a better estimation of ovulation for next month so you know when to start dtd with your husband. Fingers crossed it was enough though xx

Vikki90 · 15/02/2020 09:34

@EithneBlue haha so true!! 😂

@Starburst12 bless you lovely, I have suffered with anxiety in the past to and I can imagine it’s such an exciting time but full of worry until baby is here safely but try to relax and enjoy the experience as it’s such a precious thing. Everything will be fine 😊

@peachypetite glad you got your static smiley!! At least next month you can maybe plan it so hubby will be around? That’s if you haven’t been successful this month- you might have been! I will cross my fingers and toes for you x 😬

peachypetite · 15/02/2020 09:30

Just thought I'd update in case anyone was interested. I got a static smiley, which was three days after flo app suggested ovulation.
Unfortunately my husband was away with work, so had sex two days before the static. I'm not hopeful this month but I will definitely use the sticks again next month, I found them very helpful and easy to use.

Starburst12 · 15/02/2020 08:45

@Vikki90 @WednesdaySpinner @EithneBlue I’m doing okay thank you! The nausea has hit me hard, super sore boobs, lots of gas and weeing all the time. Lots of cramps too which I have been a bit worried about because they feel just like AF, but I’ve been reassured that they are just stretching pains. In fact, a lot of symptoms are very similar to PMS.

I struggled a bit at the start to accept that I’m pregnant but now that I’ve got real symptoms it has definitely sunk in. I’m suffering quite a bit with anxiety. I used to have anxiety which were managed by antidepressants but I was in a position to come off them around 6 months before TTC. I’m going to go back to my doctor because I’m feeling just like I was a few years ago. I’ve read this is pretty normal though.

Despite all of the symptoms, I’m finally allowing myself to get excited! Have my first midwife appointment in just under two weeks Smile

I have my fingers firmly crossed for you all to get your BFPs very soon!

Starburst12 · 15/02/2020 08:33

@Vikki90 I don’t really have any other tips on how we managed it haha we dtd a lot but I wouldn’t say excessively.. I actually thought maybe we didn’t do it enough. I will attach a pic of Flo to show when we did it around ovulation if that helps? After ovulation I stopped tracking it and was going to start again after AF. Will update how I’m doing in another post to tag everyone else that’s asked xx

EithneBlue · 14/02/2020 22:46

I just reread that last post. I meant if the cm stretches, it's good! It was not a grubby euphemism Blush

EithneBlue · 14/02/2020 22:28

@vikki90 Yeah, I mean there's nothing elegant about human reproduction. When we are successful in TTC we have 9 months of other people poking around down there. If it stretches, it's good ;-)

Vikki90 · 14/02/2020 20:31

@EithneBlue this is my issue, I generally have always had a decent amount of discharge so am struggling to notice the difference between egg white and none egg white 🙈 the only time I know I am not fertile is the week leading up to my period as I dry up. God I didn’t feel like I would be discussing this on a thread on mumsnet haha! Hope your feeling better soon!

@Jenna30ttc enjoy your weekend in Scotland! I totally agree, I just know I would know! I am enjoying some drinks tonight! Was trying to have a few weeks off the wine but I have totally failed 🙈 valentines is a good excuse for a drink hey? 😬 x

Jenna30ttc · 14/02/2020 18:25

@EithneBlue hello! I'm away in Scotland for a wee cottage break! I feel you! I've had a cold since Tuesday and even though it's better I'm still not fully better. I'm currently 5dpo! And like you I don't think the cold has anything to do with a successful month. I feel like if I did get pregnant i would know and tbh I don't feel any different 😂 except for this damn cold. I hope you feel better soon. Xx

EithneBlue · 14/02/2020 18:17

I'm 8DPO and I feel rubbish today. Sick, dizzy, exhausted and definitely coming down with a cold. Just in time for half term, obviously. I don't think any of those are symptoms of successful TTC month: I think they're symptoms of working too hard and needing to sleep.

@Jenna30ttc - Sometimes a break does you good :) Have you got any exciting weekend plans? Sounds like a good decision to check with your doctor: hopefully it'll reassure you.

@Shaunab16 --AF sucks :( Make sure you look after yourself and fingers crossed it will happen soon.

@Vikki90 - If you're not noticing it in your pants, try remembering to wipe once before you pee or use a finger to check before you pee... If you pee and then check you'll end up with pee fingers :)

@Starburst12 - How are you doing? Does it feel any more real yet? ;)

Vikki90 · 13/02/2020 20:11

@Jenna30ttc that’s good! My doctors are really good to so I am going to ring them if AF arrives which I am 99% sure it’s going to. The only friend I have confided in has told me to go as she can tell I am getting worried about things. I think it will reassure me to so your defo doing the right thing. You will have to let me know how you get on lovely. I feel a bit low tonight think hormones (tend to be a right moody/emotional mess a week before period) hence why I feel it’s another failed month. It’s just disheartening isn’t it when you want it so badly. Xx

Jenna30ttc · 13/02/2020 19:39

@Vikki90 so I'm the same I haven't noticed ewcm. Hence why I bought the pre seed. After af arrived last cycle and how stressed I was, I went to the drs and they told me to come in for blood tests when my next af arrives to make sure everything is okay (which is surprising as the dr said they don't really test before the 1 year mark). I think having the test done will just help me relax more. I wouldn't worry so much I don't think every gets the ewcm apparently having watery cm is also a good sign. X

Vikki90 · 13/02/2020 18:54

@Jenna30ttc totally..already setting myself up for another failed month! 😒 this is going back to basics but any tips on checking for egg white mucus? Without going in to too much detail and putting you off your dinner 😂... how do you check it? I try to do it but I can never see much difference! Not sure if it’s because I drink a lot of water I am constantly on the loo and wiping so it’s hard to tell?

@wednesdayspinner aww I love the lakes, we go there quite a bit too, where abouts are use heading? Aww I see, I don’t think I could spend £200, would rather buy some new clothes ha! I am gonna try another month with the clear blue and amazon sticks and if nothing positive from them then I might book in with my Dr as I have never had a ‘peak’ test just a high one so I don’t know what this means x

WednesdaySpinner · 13/02/2020 18:28

@Vikki90 we are off to the Lake District, we've hired a little cottage for the weekend and I'm definitely ready for the break! The Ava bracelet is something you wear at night and it monitors your temp while you sleep and then tells you when you are ovulating. Saves all the constant POAS and buying ovulation tests but it is £200 and so not something I want to rush out and buy!!

I've heard really good things about preseed too, I might buy some for next month @Starburst12. How are you feeling at the moment, has it all sunk in yet? Grin

Jenna30ttc · 13/02/2020 17:39

@Starburst12 hiya Awhh I hope you are doing well. We use preseed for the first time this month. So we will see. 🤞🏽

@Vikki90 hi lovely yep same old feelings (when you are in the TWW) 🙄. Fingers crossed we get another BFP soon x

Vikki90 · 13/02/2020 17:33

@Jenna30ttc glad your good lovely! I am the same it’s when it nears the TWW that I start getting a little stressed about things. Let’s hope it’s your month! Relaxation is key so they say x
