Hi guys

Not sure about anyone else but i have found that that i have tried posting on various threads and sometimes your own post gets really lost which can be slightly disheartening. I thought i would start this thread for anyone who has just started their TTC journey and together we can share our thoughts and experiences.... i do ask that (not to be mean) that this thread is only for people who have just started their TTC journey to avoid disappointment for people who are way into their journey and who may be experiencing different things. My own story is that i came of the pill in September and have yet to get my BFP. I got my first positive on Saturday just gone and now im 1dpo. Be great to hear from anyone in a similiar boat! Xx

Thank you @EithneBlue.
I’ve found a frer! Will take tomorrow first thing. I am glad you’ve come to an agreement with work you have to look after yourself.

EithneBlue · 21/03/2020 10:37

@peachypetite - get an FRER to be sure. If it's still negative then it's probably "just" stress delaying your period. Take some time to care for yourself and whilst it's worrying, do take the time for your own mental health. Will your husband qualify for support under the new government guidelines, and will your job be more secure than his?

I actually told my line manager at work on Friday, so I'm now exempted from having to go in as part of the care for children of key workers next week and will be WFH instead (along with anyone who has asthma or any other health condition so I'm hoping that'll mask the real reason, although I'm fairly sure I drunkenly told a few colleagues we were TTC before Christmas so maybe not LOL). Social distancing where possible now, although I am still going out to the shops and for walks for my own sanity. The official advice is that the risk to pregnancy is low, and when I called the local midwife service they seemed to think it was probably cautious advice to err on the safe side but still advised me to follow RCOG guidelines.

My CB digital moved to 2-3 weeks on Thursday - right on schedule. I have another one lined up for next week and may possibly have checked again with another FRER this morning (starting to noticeably dye steal)... Fingers and toes all crossed. Turns out I am not overly anxious about Coronavirus, but I am generally anxious about staying pregnant... the hormones must be messing with my head because I know logically that on the balance of probability it'll likely be fine, but still anxious and have become a bit of a knicker checker Blush.

peachypetite · 21/03/2020 09:54

Going a bit crazy. Still no sign of my period. I did a cheap boots test a couple of days ago and negative. I am worried about my husband’s job security and the nhs strain so I have been hoping it will come and I can stop TTC. At first I thought my period was due yesterday but I have a new phone so my flo app started on empty and was using a 30 day cycle to predict period. The last few months have been 26-28 day cycles, short. I am hoping it’s stress making my period late but I guess a more sensitive pregnancy test will be the easiest way to know. Thinking of all you ladies who are pregnant, it must be very worrying for you. I am so worried for what our future holds.

Swife · 20/03/2020 08:30

@Starburst12 thanks🥰 I'm sad but willing to keep going till I can't. The struggle is real but so is my desire to be a mother

EithneBlue · 17/03/2020 22:21

@Starburst12 - the first 6 miles were fine: it was the subsequent 7 that I didn't enjoy -- it was a massive difference from what I'm used to being able to do. I guess shorter runs for me from now on!

Strong line on FRER and digital yesterday said positive.
Eep.
Talk about poor timing though: I'm a teacher so still surrounded by coughing germ-monsters at all times. Bloody typical! I've had to invest in hand cream to undo the damage caused by all the hand washing. I'm hoping schools will just close soon, to be honest, so that I can hide away until it's all over.

Vikki90 · 17/03/2020 17:56

@EithneBlue just catching up! Massive congratulations my lovely! This is fab news! Hope everyone else is keeping ok. This corona virus is just awful..stay safe lovelies xx

Starburst12 · 17/03/2020 11:43

@EithneBlue wow I would never be able to run 6 miles, pregnant or not!! Blush well done to you for doing it though!!

Starburst12 · 17/03/2020 11:42

@Swife I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through a tough time. It’s totally understandable to feel the way that you are. Have you been to see a doctor about TTC?

Swife · 16/03/2020 06:51

So I'm ttc cycle 11. I'm so discouraged! I'm 39 as of January and I'm beginning to think my cm is killing my Husband's sperm and I will never be a mother😒. I'm with giving up or gonna keep trying till it's over. Y mind is garbled and I'm having mixed feelings. In reality I know I don't have much time so I'm thinking...is it worth the sad feeling after every TWW? Long story short. My af came today so I'm out😔.

EithneBlue · 15/03/2020 18:28

Well. Turns out even an 11DPO BFP makes running more than 6 miles much harder than 2 weeks ago. Yikes. Shock

EithneBlue · 15/03/2020 09:16

Tested again this morning... there's still a line and it's slightly stronger (not much but I didn't leave 24 hours between tests). If it's still getting stronger tomorrow/Tuesday I'll buy a digital and show it to OH. I'm still in denial, I think!
Now, better hope that no one at this half marathon I am running today has Coronavirus.

Starburst12 · 14/03/2020 20:16

@EithneBlue ahh how exciting! Massive congratulations!! keep us posted throughout to let us know how you’re doing.

peachypetite · 14/03/2020 19:36

Fair enough. I’ve hardly thought about being pregnant this tww- all this corona has been very distracting! Period due next week.

EithneBlue · 14/03/2020 19:30

Thanks guys! Fingers crossed for a stronger line in coming days - I don't want to count my chickens so to speak. I think I must be in denial, though: I still bought sanitary pads when I went shopping earlier!
@Peachypetite I have been testing early every month - but this month I wasn't really thinking about it: they just arrived in the post today so I thought I'd give one a go!

peachypetite · 14/03/2020 19:19

Out of curiosity was there something that made you test early?

WednesdaySpinner · 14/03/2020 19:17

Congratulations @EithneBlue! So happy for you!

peachypetite · 14/03/2020 18:18

Omg @EithneBlue!!!

Jenna30ttc · 14/03/2020 16:58

@EithneBlue that's sensible, though I don't think you have anything to worry about but totally understand why you would feel like that. Let me know how you get on the next few days x

EithneBlue · 14/03/2020 16:53

I'll check it again tomorrow/Monday. If it's real: I'll tell him then :-)

Jenna30ttc · 14/03/2020 16:31

@EithneBlue it gives me hope. So chuffed for you. When are you going to tell the oh? X

EithneBlue · 14/03/2020 16:25

I'm sort of feeling cautious disbelief! Like... I will test again tomorrow and Monday to check it's getting stronger before I really believe it to be true.
Symptoms? None. Fewer than all the other months. I had honestly written this month off. Maybe today slightly more CM than normal for this part of my cycle... I've no real idea why I decided to test!

Jenna30ttc · 14/03/2020 16:15

@EithneBlue did you get any clear symptoms? I know you said you had very few but were they obvious?

Jenna30ttc · 14/03/2020 16:15

@EithneBlue OMG that is defo a clear second line. Congratulations lovely. So so happy for you. How are you feeling? X

EithneBlue · 14/03/2020 16:02

... that seems to be a second line. 10DPO so it may not stick, but... Shock
This TWW we missed what I thought was ovulation day because husband went out for drinks and had a few too many. I had so few symptoms that I assumed this was another missed month so I've been drunk myself twice this week. Whoops.
Keeping this totally to myself until period is due (Tuesday) and I get a stronger line but wanted to come here and share the tentative positivity :-)

Too many threads and looking for friends to go through the TTC journey
AutumnCat · 09/03/2020 11:34

@wednesdayspinner yeah we don't normally DTD anywhere near that often!! Obviously have been upping our game since TTC but it is a bit exhausting. Then again I'm glad as it reminds me that we do enjoy it and it's worth losing a bit of sleep a bit more often than just about once a week however busy our lives are...!

Meanwhile I have long cycles, but 41 days and still no AF... my cycle has only been this long or longer maybe two or three times in the last 3 or 4 years of (admittedly vague) tracking. Even when I was on the coil, which seemed to make my cycle shorter rather than longer despite it having the opposite effect on most women! Mine are usually more like maybe 35 days?

Amd yes, I've tested, BFNs however hard I squint, this morning and two days ago. Plus I'm sure we just totally missed the boat this month...!
