Hi guys

Not sure about anyone else but i have found that that i have tried posting on various threads and sometimes your own post gets really lost which can be slightly disheartening. I thought i would start this thread for anyone who has just started their TTC journey and together we can share our thoughts and experiences.... i do ask that (not to be mean) that this thread is only for people who have just started their TTC journey to avoid disappointment for people who are way into their journey and who may be experiencing different things. My own story is that i came of the pill in September and have yet to get my BFP. I got my first positive on Saturday just gone and now im 1dpo. Be great to hear from anyone in a similiar boat! Xx

@MrsH0692 Sorry to hear AF paid a visit. Baby dust for the next cycle and enjoy the fact that you can have a guilt-free tipple on Wednesday!

jenna30 · 22/12/2019 20:26

@Lucy5546 how are things going with you? As the dizziness stopped?

@MrsH0692 awh Sorry to hear that. But at least you can now enjoy a drink at Christmas and relax a little. Baby dust to you for the next cycle. X

@EithneBlue its not daft of you to test early as i have done it before too. I think soo... Ive been pretty distracted that last fews days which has made it easy not too think about it too much. With Christmas around the corner it should be another good distraction. Thing is everyone is different some people don't have symptoms and some do and both can get a BFP. You just never know until af arrives. Enjoy your 🍷. The difficulty with the tww over xmas is the restrictions of not bing able to drink. 🙄.

@jenna30

It’s not implantation I’m afraid, it’s AF. Never mind, weird though as I’ve been so regular and this one was 5 days early. Never mind, looking on the positive side this is a new cycle! Fresh start xx

EithneBlue · 22/12/2019 18:49

@jenna30 the internet is full of stories about people who get a BFP after an early BFN. The internet is also full of people who claim to have been abducted by aliens. It was daft of me to test. On the other hand since it said BFN, I feel no guilt about the glass of wine I am currently drinking. Fingers and toes all crossed for you though: are you definitely going to hold out until late AF before testing? (Sensible decision IMO, but not one for the impatient)

jenna30 · 22/12/2019 18:46

@FirsttimeTTC oh i know! You are always taught to avoid unprotected sex as it can only take that one time to become pregnant but you don't realise actually it quite difficult when you are actively trying. 🙄. You are still very early in the ttc journey so try not to get disheartened yet but i understand how hard its not to expect to get pregnant quickly. I was the same when i stopped my pill in September but after a few months trying i more relaxed about it. The first month or so was quite hard. Im on cycle 3 now so still not that far along of ttc. Each month is hard when you get af arrives but this month im actually expecting af.

@MrsH0692 hiya! Ive not experience implantation bleeding but i have heard of it on other threads. Has it stopped? It could be implantation! 🤞🏽keep us updated x

@EithneBlue oh no! You still have time some people have tested early and got a BFN but then tested later 14dpo and got a BFP. Im the same i haven't tested yet but i have no pregnancy symptoms so i don't think its happening for me this month. Right now i feel okay about it. I will probably feel worse when af arrives. 🙄

I cracked. Tested at 9DPO with FMU... unsurprisingly, a white-as-white BFN.
Does anyone have a video of a burning £5 note I could watch before I decide to pee on any more sticks before 12DPO?

EithneBlue · 21/12/2019 17:40

I will not test at 8DPO. I will not test at 8DPO. I will not test at 8DPO. I will not test at 8DPO

In all seriousness I don't think anything is different this month - I don't feel pregnant so probably not going to happen. I feel a little like AF is coming but that's the same every month. Trying so hard not to think about it, but thinking about it.

FirsttimeTTC · 21/12/2019 17:33

Hope it’s ok for me to join!!
Only started TTC in November but I’m still on cycle one I think as I’m late for AF! (By 14 days). Had a very very faint positive last week but I think it might have been a chemical, hence the no show of AF. So now I have to just wait.
Isn’t it so frustrating that we spend so much of our lives trying not to get pregnant and then when we finally start trying, we are overwhelmed by how difficult it actually is? Both physically and mentally.
I wish I knew how small the timeframe was for conception, I wouldn’t have put myself through some of the awful side effects I had from BC! 😂 would’ve just avoided DTD 😂

MrsH0692 · 21/12/2019 17:06

Hey guys..

So today my AF came.. 5 days early! I am usually fairly regular with 1-2 days out. I usually have a really awful time when my AF does come with bad cramps and very very heavy (sorry for the TMI). However this is just really light, no really cramps. Just tired bloated and a bit cranky!
So this is really odd. I mentioned it on another thread and someone suggested it could be implantation bleeding. Has anyone experienced this?

I’m going to see what happens tomorrow and maybe do a test after Xmas (if I can wait that long)

X

Lucy5546 · 20/12/2019 17:56

@jenna30 yes i said this month i wouldnt. But i have and i cant stop haha. Still feel slightly lightheaded if i am starving. Now i think i could be lacking in iron but not i have never felt like that before. Suppose i will just have to wait..

@MrsH0692 welcome and congrats on the wedding. I have no advice on OPKs as i dont use them. I do track CM and my cervix but you need to be doing this a few months to see whats normal for you. It can be quite difficult at times.

@Kimmid welcome and congrats on the wedding too. I have taken a some what relaxed approach to see if i can figure out my cycles so I know exactly how you feel.

Best of look everyone. Keep us posted!!

Vipie · 20/12/2019 17:43

Not beer a baby 😂 though I could have a tipple tonight

Vipie · 20/12/2019 17:42

I’m on cycle 4 I think it does feel like longer beer want it so bad

NotJust3SmallWords · 20/12/2019 17:26

@jenna30 I know what you mean, even though it's only been a couple of months, it feels like ages already. think it's probably being so keen for it to happen!

I'll try to keep it to myself a bit more I think. I'm undecided whether to tell my MIL when we visit this Christmas. She already drops hints about her future grandchildren...not sure whether telling her we're ttc would make her ask about it more or less tbh!

mimmi91 · 20/12/2019 16:02

Welcome @MrsH0692 and @Kimmid !
We're aaaall in the same boat here, it's overwhelming isn't it...!
Good luck on your OV days @Kimmid, fingers crossed it works on the first go!

How old are you? :)
I'm 28, and so is my DH!

Am only on CD6 today and am literally thinking of TTC every single minute... Can't wait to start trying ovulation tests... (have absolutely no idea when I'm due, I think my cycles are on the long side) Have told myself I'll do the first one of CD10, and hopefully catch an LH surge in the days therafter. I'm super keen on DTD a few days before ovulation (as well as on the day of) as supposedly sperm can survive for 5 days, so that should really maximise the odds, no?!
At the same time, I reaaaally wish I could be chill about this, as my husband seems to be... But I already feel like each DTD session will turn into a transaction for me hah!

On a less fun note, I leave on a family vacation on the 26/12 and may be sharing a hotel room with my little sis a few times, so wa may have to get very creative if OV comes then Confused

Kimmid · 20/12/2019 15:23

Hi all

Hoping to join too, I'm super new at all this!

DH and I got married at the end of October, we were planning to wait a year for so before TTC but made the decision to start in January which ended up starting this month 😂 we didn't realise how difficult it can be so thought it can't hurt to start now.

I keep thinking I want to take it easy and not stress but I'm really worried it's going to take a toll on me. We had a time when I thought I might be pregnant about a year ago and got so excited and it broke my heart, and that was just a "scare" so god knows how I'm going to handle month after month of TTC!

I'm ovulating now, so DTD every other day, i started taking prenatals about a week ago. Not looking forward to the 2WW 😩

MrsH0692 · 20/12/2019 14:41

@jenna30 that’s great. So after AF comes and goes I can start a fresh really. That’s what concerns me is missing that window. I feel like I’m really overwhelmed and don’t understand any of it!! 🤣 where did you go to get information about CM etc, to know what to look for. Sorry for all the questions! Xx

jenna30 · 20/12/2019 14:34

@MrsH0692 😂 i didn't tag you properly sorry! My response is below.

jenna30 · 20/12/2019 14:33

@sH0692 hi! So I was the same when i came of the pill. I had no idea when to start tracking ovulation. I have the flo app too. What i did this month which is the first month i started tracking properly was as soon as i finished my af ( and around 3/4 days after af finished) i started tracking. i know its quite early but because i wasn’t too sure of my cycles i didnt want to miss the peak. If you have an idea of your cycles i would suggest starting to track 5 days before the fertile days on the flo app. As you test everyday and you get closer to ovulation the lines begin to darken. I needed alot of strips which i bought beforehand off amazon (50 test strips for £c10) and they worked really well. Also in recommend testing 2 to 3 times a day to catch a LH surge. I hope this helps.

MrsH0692 · 20/12/2019 14:23

Hi. Hope it’s ok if I join in.

Me and my OH are TTC #1. Coming to the end of my cycle AF due on CHRISTMAS DAY 🤣

We got married in September and I stopped taking my contraceptive pill at the beginning of the summer, cycles fairly predictable so hoping I’ve predicted ovulation times well.

I’ve just started trying to use ovulation test strips which I’m so confused about. When’s best to do them?! I have the “FLO” app and try and do the tests when they predict my ovulation day.

Any tips or advice is welcome. ❤️

jenna30 · 20/12/2019 13:58

@Bfree3 hiya!! Over thinking is so normal and expected on this group! If you got a positive on your opk test and you dtd at the right time, you have done everything you can. Its hard not to over think but all you can do is wait and see what happens if it doesn't happen then you can take comfort in the fact that you only have just started ttc. It can take some women a couple of months to conceive so i wouldn't worry yet.

OP posts:
jenna30 · 20/12/2019 13:49

@Lucy5546 I completely understand. Its so difficult not to symptom spot. We're both 5dpo. 🤞🏽 the dizziness was an actual symptom. X
