Hi guys

Not sure about anyone else but i have found that that i have tried posting on various threads and sometimes your own post gets really lost which can be slightly disheartening. I thought i would start this thread for anyone who has just started their TTC journey and together we can share our thoughts and experiences.... i do ask that (not to be mean) that this thread is only for people who have just started their TTC journey to avoid disappointment for people who are way into their journey and who may be experiencing different things. My own story is that i came of the pill in September and have yet to get my BFP. I got my first positive on Saturday just gone and now im 1dpo. Be great to hear from anyone in a similiar boat! Xx

@peachypetite not getting my hopes high at all. We're very close. Will you hold of testing early?

peachypetite · 17/01/2020 09:15

@Jenna30ttc you would surely hope every other day would be enough.
I’m due 27th!! Very close to yours.

Jenna30ttc · 17/01/2020 09:03

@peachypetite im due af on the 28th of January. Im just hoping i have ovulated this month though or not missed it. Still going to track for the next two days and if still negative then i know for sure I've missed it. Hoping me bd'ing every other day has helped. 😫. When is your af due?

peachypetite · 17/01/2020 08:25

@Jenna30ttc when is your period due?
Well done for having so much sex this month! I’ve been off the pill and condom free for a while now but this has been the first month we’ve focused on days, ovulation, timing sex etc and it’s been so much effort having so much sex in a small window!!

peachypetite · 17/01/2020 08:23

@MrsH0692 how late is it?
Try wait a few more days if you can.

Jenna30ttc · 17/01/2020 08:15

@MrsH0692 awhh dear. Are you normally on time every month? If you can wait a couple more days then i would wait. Its hard when you see a bfn.

Jenna30ttc · 17/01/2020 08:13

@WednesdaySpinner 👋🏾 how have you been? Did you go anywhere nice on holiday? Hows the ttc process going for you? I took the dtd every other day approach for this month so ill have to see if that has worked. I don't even know what dpo i would be because i haven't tested properly and when i have, it has been negative.

MrsH0692 · 17/01/2020 08:09

Still no AF this morning, tempted to do another test. But just don’t want to keep seeing BFN as it gets me down. I’m never late for my AF, my mind is running away with all sorts of theories as to why I haven’t come on yet. I’ve got AF cramps but it’s not here 🤔 xxx

WednesdaySpinner · 16/01/2020 22:49

I had a break from the thread whilst I was on holiday and we've moved on since I went but it has felt strangely comforting to read everyone's updates.

@Jenna30ttc I know exactly how you feel, one of my friends has just announced her pregnancy and it is so hard to be happy for someone whilst being slightly gutted at the same time. I've been feeling really low about it this last week but I feel like I can't talk to DH too much or it will become all consuming.

@swife what amazing news, I bet you are so relieved!! I am also no stranger to the period or pregnant waiting game and have been patiently waiting for AF to finish so that I can start ttc again.

@vikki90 I will try to remember your words of wisdom because you are right Smile

Vikki90 · 16/01/2020 21:51

@Jenna30ttc hope you enjoyed your spa day, sounds like it’s what you need! That’s the exact thoughts I have! Seeing everyone announce their pregnancies but then really we don’t know how long those people have been trying and I bet they have felt like us at some point! This month I am gonna try the amazon sticks and I am going to up my fitness (as I have been so lazy lately) I have heard zinc supplements are good as well so I am going to get some of the as well as my folic acid and see! Hopefully it happens for us all ASAP! But this group has made me calmer in only 2 days so thanks for setting it up! And hopefully sharing our own experiences makes everyone feel more relaxed and chilled (which am sure is better for baby making than stress) 😃 xx

Jenna30ttc · 16/01/2020 17:55

@Vikki90 i am an over worrier too and at times when i have felt really low i think ill never conceive! And thats it just mot meant to be for me. Sounds so silly as i haven't even been of the pill that long. Its bonkers really. Since i came of the pill in September i have had three people i know announce that they are pregnant and thats when it gets tough and i begin thinking something is wrong with me because everyone around me seems to be getting pregnant straightaway!!

Jenna30ttc · 16/01/2020 17:51

Btw girls i have slightly changed my name from jenna30. 😂 @peachypetite @FirsttimeTTC @EithneBlue @NCON @Vikki90 still the OP. Sorry if i have forgot anyone there is quite of a few people to tag!

Jenna30ttc · 16/01/2020 17:49

@Vikki90 well hello its nice to hear from you. Oh btw i have slightly changed my name from Jenna30. Im currently at a spa relaxing so l've finally got a minute to myself to respond (i have avoided using my phone all day, defeats the purpose of relaxing and being at a spa if I'm using my phone 😂). I am exactly the same as you i thought i had ewcm a few days ago but i don't think it was. Me and DH dtd the day before so i think it was due to that. I haven't noticed any ewcm since i came off the pill in September and like you I just have an odd day where its watery. I have been testing using opk tests but i still haven't had a positive yet so we have been dtd every other day. My cycle is around 30 days long and last cycle I got a positive on opk on cd15 but this cycle nothing yet. I have been mega stressed this month so could be delayed because of that. Either way im just going to continue dtd every other day and see what happens. Good luck xx

MrsH0692 · 16/01/2020 17:05

@Vikki90 fingers crossed!

It does feel like ages because you want it so much, and wait for it every single month! Xx

Vikki90 · 16/01/2020 16:41

@MrsH0692 awww well this is positive, so thats exactly the same as me - came off in June and we have been trying since October...(congratulations on the wedding!!) :-) so this is my 3rd Cycle!

Yes totally, and my best friend got pregnant in the first month of trying and I am like my god why is it taking me 'so long' - feels long to me anyways! Its nice to get a bit of reassurance - I am an over worrier anyways and always think the worst! Really hoping you get that BFP!! xxx

MrsH0692 · 16/01/2020 16:35

@Vikki90

That’s another weird thing, TMI but I’ve still got a lot of discharge!! So my story.. I got married in September, stopped taking my pill about June time as I wanted to prep my body almost. So we’ve been DTD unprotected for quite a while but actually started actively “trying” after the wedding. So this is my 4th cycle I think? How about you?

These chats do help I agree as you don’t feel like you’re completely alone. People I have thought would Be fully supportive of me in my life have been a bit like stop trying so hard, be more chilled... very easy for people to say when they only have to look at a penis and get pregnant haha! So I agree it’s nice to be on here with like minded lovely people and hear other people’s experiences xxx

Vikki90 · 16/01/2020 16:27

@MrsH0692 Ooo I have my fingers crossed for you!! The waiting part is the worst, but everyday you don't come on is a positive! I can normally tell when I am due on (less discharge etc - I have read when you get pregnant the discharge stays?) How long have you been trying? I am good, better today - I joined the chat the other day as I had came on and was feeling frustrated and a bit sad so it was nice to find this chat with other people in the same boat (makes me get my realistic head back on) but I am feeling back to myself now and thinking positive! :-) xxx

MrsH0692 · 16/01/2020 16:21

@Vikki90 Hey lovely.

So I’m CD 27, AF was due today but no sign as of yet!! I keep getting these waves of feeling horrifically nauseas and then it passes but other than that, no symptoms. BFN this morning when I tested. So so so hoping this is our month, I’m never usually late with my AF, if anything I’m early. But we shall see, not getting my hopes up!
How are you feeling? All good I hope xxx

hannah17381 · 16/01/2020 16:18

@Vikki90 Thankyou!! Had seen that mentioned, might give it a go....

Vikki90 · 16/01/2020 16:17

@hannah17381 just read your message - I use the Flo app, its good for tracking cycle lengths etc so worth a download :-)

Vikki90 · 16/01/2020 16:00

@Swife @peachypetite I have been using the ovulation kits and my high days tend to be after 14 days (think because my cycles are longer) and because I dont have really any discharge the week after my period we kind of didnt want to 'burn out' (I think I ovulate later - like day 20 +) but I could be totally wrong....but maybes this is where I have been going wrong. Its crazy I personally spent 13 years trying not to get pregnant and when you actually start to try its alot harder than you think! x

peachypetite · 16/01/2020 15:47

Hi @vikki90 why are you waiting a week after your period has ended? I think it’s best to start a couple of days after it ends so you are building up to that ovulation day:
Sperm can live for up to 7 days inside a woman's body. So if you've had sex in the days before ovulation, the sperm will have had time to travel up the fallopian tubes to "wait" for the egg to be released.

Swife · 16/01/2020 15:46

@FirsttimeTTC I'll hold you 🤝 to help you be more patient 😀.

@Vikki9 it's funny that you mention tracking CM. I have and I never notice any EWCM. It always gets just to watery🤔 is that bad. Maybe that's why my doc has me taking Vitamin E vaginally. Come to think about it my cervix does not follow the norm either. Which I why I stopped using them both to track. I'm going to add back in my temping with my OPKS.

Anyone else have this issue?

Vikki90 · 16/01/2020 15:32

@jenna30 @MrsH0692 hey girls! And welcome to all the new ladies, I am finding it hard to go through all the messages and keep up to date with everyone! But just wanted to see if anyone has had any good signs of pregnancy through the 2 week wait? Me and my partner were trying religiously over Christmas and no joy! Because my cycles are quite long (33-44 days) this month we are going to try as soon as my period has ended which is hopefully today. (we have been trying from around a week after my period the last couple of months so I am hoping this new way might make a difference!) Do use all track your discharge? I am struggling to determine what is Egg White and what isn't...every month 1 day (tends to be on a night) i have a lot of discharge - wondering if this is my ovulation day but the sticks havent necessarily matched this? Anyone else experience this? Wishing use all luck though! Its nice to speak to people who have been trying for a similar time as its easy to stress (from my own experience being the most impatient person living haha!) @FirsttimeTTC @peachypetite @Lucy5546*@mimmi91 @EithneBlue* @fioney25 @NCON - tagging use all so I don't miss anyone out (sorry if I have!) x

FirsttimeTTC · 16/01/2020 09:38

@Swife aw bless your DH, he sounds like a great support and it must be comforting to know he really has your back.
I know don’t even get me started! I think I definitely ovulated yesterday, OPKs are a definite negative today (never had such a faint line!) and I had a little bit of cramping. So I am officially 1dpo. 9 days at least until I can test. I already feel impatient haha. ITS HORRIBLE!
