Hi ladiessss.

I thought about having some time away from MN but you get so much support here (and I need it at the moment!) so I thought I'd start a new thread for all those who are due to test end December/NY time.

TTC#2 (first baby)
28yo
Cycle #4
Short LP (boo)
Chemical in October
AF due 30th December

So I had my implant out a few months ago, since then my cycles have been VERY short but regular (23-24 days). My luteal phase is very short 8-9 days which I think is what causing me issues. I conceived very quickly 3 years ago with typical 28-29 day cycles and I didn't track a thing (only CM). Last month got my positive OPK CD14. I'm not sure if I am going to track ovulation this month...

AF due 30th based on a 25 day cycle

OP posts:

@Flossie333 Yeah I have for a few months but I’m terrible at remembering to do it at the weekend (actually I just need the lie in!)
Have a busy weekend this weekend which is before ovulation so hopefully will be fairly accurate. We’ll see 🤷🏻‍♀️

Snowberry4 · 17/12/2019 11:35

Best of luck @LockThatFridge. Are you pretty regular or are you using opk? Its a blessing that you've been diagnosed with U/A thyroid now rather then finding out your already expecting or having it left undiagnosed. Hopefully your be under an amazing Dr/ consultant who can help and plan your care accordingly if they know your already ttc x x x

Snowberry4 · 17/12/2019 11:25

@Flossie333 flashy smiley Is great news!!! Bring on the static smiley hey!
Iv not been temping as technically iv only actually ovulated 2, possibly 3 times in the past 14 months and it just seemed like such hard work. I just keep an eye on CM and check cervix positioning every now and again ( if im being honest, I really dont know what I'm checking for despite reading up about it haha. It always feels the same!)

But please let me know how you find temping and how you get on. Maybe you can sway me! I just find poas and checking for ovulation time consuming enough in the morning when I'm half asleep and thats without checking temp too hehe. X

LockThatFridge · 16/12/2019 20:29

Can I join too?
Ttc #3
Cycle #3
Possibly had a chemical in October. Line was so faint it could have been an evap though. Found out around the same time that I had hyperthyroidism. It’s being treated but it’s likely to affect my fertility.
Cd 9 today and a small amount of fertile mucus so I will hopefully ovulate in the next few days. If I ovulate. Af due 4th January.

Flossie333 · 16/12/2019 18:58

@cerios156 seriously!!! And we live in such an 'instant' world so it's so frustrating not being able to get an answer/explanation quick on this!

@MrsERH yes I'm v curious although if it doesn't rise at the weekend that will put me in a bad mood ha. Do you temp?

Xxxx

MrsERH · 16/12/2019 18:54

Will be interesting to see if you temping proves successful. I’m trying to do every day (including weekends) this month to see if it helps.

cerios156 · 16/12/2019 17:37

@Flossie333 I'm the same way - not being able to really control my bodily functions is unnerving. I've found myself looking at my belly and pelvis and just marveling that I have no idea what's going on in there lol.

Flossie333 · 16/12/2019 16:57

@Snowberry4 yes I think so 😘- although I am so used to being in control of things, and so it's a real adjustment to feel very out of control on this.

I have no idea if I am ovulating and so I have been temping this cycle to track things. Do you temp? Would be so interested to hear your experience if you have- so far mine has ranged from 35.92-36.17 in my follicular phase. According to my app I am due to ovulate this weekend (and this morning I had my first flashing smiley on my OPK) so fingers crossed I see that rise in temp at the weekend!! Xxx

Lucy5546 · 16/12/2019 16:20

Hey ladies i haven't posted in a while. I have enjoyed taking a step back this month. We are following SMEP and im feeling really good. Not sure when i ovulated but CD 17 now. I am away when AF is due. Some time the end of December so i will not be testing until i am home around the 4th january.
Hopefully a late xmas present and early Bday present. How is everyone?

Snowberry4 · 16/12/2019 08:35

Sounds like a plan @cerios156!! No idea if iv ovulated, although opk showed positive they are not as reliable for women with PCOS so im currently sitting in a line at phlebotomy clinic to have cd21 progestrone level check and confirm, so fingers crossed I'll find out by end of the week :) keeping positive and trying to be optimistic as tis' the season for miracles and all haha! 🎄🎁❄👶

@Flossie333 hopeful your GP can shed some light! Well done for going though! You feeling alright about it? X x

Flossie333 · 15/12/2019 23:01

@Snowberry4 👋🏼- your TWW has come at a great time! Crossing everything for you.

I saw my doctor and had a scan which appeared to show a lot of follicles on both ovaries. The woman doing the scan mentioned that she didn't think that they were polycystic but than someone else might say they were..... so I am not sure I am any wiser than I was before. I'm going to see my GP about the results this week so let's see! Xxxxx

cerios156 · 15/12/2019 20:48

@Snowberry4

Things have been okay so far! CD 12 for me and I got a very meh OPK reading this afternoon, so not sure I'm ovulating when my apps think I am. Also not getting that egg white mucus/awesome skin I typically experience around ovulation, so we're just planning on a week or doing it like bunnies to cover our bases.

How are you faring so far? 😊

Snowberry4 · 15/12/2019 19:39

How's everyone else getting on this cycle??

My TWW has already begun, Christmas is proving to be a kind and welcoming distraction for now 🤫 !!

Have any of you ladies got anything nice planned or booked to keep you calm and distracted during yours?

Any news @Flossie333 ??

Sending everyone positive thoughts x

Snowberry4 · 15/12/2019 19:32

@clolo i find verywellfamily and healthline websites really helpful I'll attach the links,
Iv been having day 21 blood tests each month to see if I'm responding to fertility drugs and tomorrow I'll be going for one too (althoughy ill be on CD22) but It's a small price to pay for reassurance!!
Do you have an appointment with gp scheduled to discuss your results and where you go from here?

@clolo i think the day21 test needs to be done 7 days before your AF is due. Its called 21 day test based on the average 28 day cycle. So if u go on day 21 when you have a longer cycle results will say your progesterone is low cos u tested too early.

Have you gone through your Gp? Where they happy to test without it being a year of TTC. Im on cycle 7 not been to doctors yet didnt think they would test so be interested to know xx

Snowberry4 · 12/12/2019 16:27

@MrsERH I know with the Sperm meets egg plan they ask you to start CD8, and it's what iv always done so you should be ok even if you start tomorrow. Im sure many others start checking with opk's earlier or Later. Wishing you luck MrsERH 😊

MrsERH · 12/12/2019 16:13

@Snowberry4 - aghrgrhrgrh that’s today. Will start in the morning 👍🏻

Snowberry4 · 12/12/2019 14:35

Hi @MrsERH normally CD8 and then if you do ovulate early you won't miss it. Test everyday until you get peak.

I found this website really helpful and it also has different ttc intercourse timings too.

MrsERH · 12/12/2019 13:09

For CB OPKs how many days before ovulation do you start testing?

notetaker · 12/12/2019 10:06

Good luck @MotherofKitties and @Snowberry4!

I'm having a confusing time with the opks - had a strong-ish line yesterday morning (not peak) but since then absolutely nothing. No pains or EWCM so I don't think I've ovulated. Anyone else had this?

MotherofKitties · 11/12/2019 18:17

@Snowberry4 Thank you, and I will! Good luck to you too! Xx

Snowberry4 · 11/12/2019 18:04

@MotherofKitties that's great news!!! Don't give up dtd just yet, keep at it for a few more days!!! I had my static smiley yesterday and today too so we're likely be testing the same time 😊 best of luck kitties!

MotherofKitties · 11/12/2019 17:45

Just done an OPK and my instinct was right yesterday; I've got a smiley face and I'm ovulating!

5-6 days earlier than expected but I had a feeling the chemical last month might have messed with my cycle a bit. Either way I'm back in the two week wait... good luck everyone xx
