It’s happening again and I can’t do this.

In July I started bleeding 2 weeks after my period finished and sure enough, I miscarried the day I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks 5 days.

I’ve just now been to the loo and found brown discharge a week too early to be my period and I know exactly what that means. I’m 8 days away from my period due date (cd29) so I tested and sure enough, I’m pregnant and in exactly the same way as last time, I think I’m miscarrying Sad

I’m not sure what I need or why I’m posting. I am wishing so hard for this to not be a miscarriage and to be something entirely different, but in my heart I just know and I’m broken all over again.

Does anyone have positive stories where a bleed at 4 weeks hasn’t been a miscarriage? I don’t know if hope is what I need but I desperately want to hold on to the fantasy that this could be a baby for a while longer Sad

Hi all,

Thanks for the support Flowers

GP has ordered a full bloods work up including HCG so I should know where I stand soon.

I’m still bleeding off and on, so I doubt it’s implantation bleeding at this point and I’m fairly sure it’s an early miscarriage.

Hoping for blood results on Friday so I’ll update then Brew

So sorry OP. I have PCOS and we've been TTC since June 2017. I've been on metformin since August 2018, and supposedly that reduces our risk of miscarriage to the level of someone without PCOS. I have had two chemical pregnancies, one naturally and one as a result of clomid, and I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant with another clomid pregnancy, which is the furthest I've ever gotten.

I feel quite strongly that metformin is very valuable to those of us with PCOS, there is so much research about it. Might be worth asking your new GP. Some insist a consultant prescribe it but my GP was happy to do it herself x

It was god awful :(

They had my scan results and as suspected they confirm PCOS.

I said I’d had a positive pregnancy test, now I was getting negative and ive been spotting for 5 days and her exact words were ‘you’re probably having a miscarriage, it’s not surprising because you have PCOS’ SadSadSad

She then spent the next 3 minutes telling me she can’t do anything for me and I need to register with a GP closer to home.

She didn’t explain next steps for either the miscarriage or the PCOS, didn’t give me any kind of comfort or advice on what to do or how to cope with the news. I was in there for a total of 5 minutes and I left and just burst into tears.

I’m 29 years old and I called my mum. She called the GP surgery to complain straight away and ask what I’m supposed to do next, and they said register at a GP nearer home (I’m 0.3 miles outside their catchment, boundaries have just moved) and they’ll sort me out.

So mum took me to another GP’s and explained what had happened, new GP receptionist grabbed a nurse and took me to a side room, took my temp and a urine sample and confirmed that there’s a faint line on their test and I’m going back tomorrow for a blood test.

Nurse said the GP I saw should have asked me how much blood I was losing, taken my temp and confirmed the pregnancy at the very least to work out whether I was at risk, and should have explained the next steps for PCOS treatment to me. She was upset on my behalf.

She’s booked me in for 2pm tomorrow for an appointment with the GP and they’ll talk me through everything Sad

I’m in bits as you can imagine.

I’ve got a GP appointment for 15:30 today.

I’m having investigations for PCOS and had an internal scan on Friday 29th so I’ll get the results from that at the same time.

Question: could the internal scan have caused the bleeding? It started a week later?

The spotting sounds like ib but I'm confused by the now negative tests. Depending how sympathetic your GP is contact them for advice otherwise try your EPU they might do a blood test for you. Good luck X

So I’m still spotting slightly, I’m 10dpo and tested negative with FMU this morning. The only positive I’ve had was 3 days ago and was very concentrated urine and since then they’ve all been negative. I’m even questioning whether that one was even positive or whether it was a weird line as the ink got drawn up the test? Confused

Could this still be implantation bleeding or am I kidding myself?

It’s happening again and I can’t do this.

I had brown (and some light pink) bleeding on and off from the very early days, like you, until about week 13 with both my dc. It was scary, but everything was fine.

For some reason, I read “I’m 15 months now”, instead of “She’s 15 months now”, and was so so confused about your gestational period. Haha.

I had intermittent light brown/red spotting from 5+5 to 7+5 weeks, baby was fine but it was a very scary time. EPU might not see you this early but it’s worth asking as they could check your hCG levels and see if they are increasing.

Maybe get in touch wi tk your hospitals bleeding in early pregnancy clinic as they'll do bloods to see if yo ur levels are increasing or reducing which really shows how things are progressing, take care of your self Thanks

I had vivid red bleeding from 4 weeks until almost 12 in my second pregnancy (after the first one having no bleeding at all). Was convinced over and over it was a miscarriage but it wasn’t- DD is now 3. Good luck OP, doesn’t necessarily mean the end.

On the day i got my bfp i bled for 3 days, bright red blood.

I am now 15+3

I had two pregnancies, one where I bled fresh red blood and miscarried at 8 weeks and 3 days and the second pregnancy I bled bright red blood at exactly 8 weeks and 3 days and it was fine and baby is now 3. Try to relax and be kind to yourself. Wishing you lots of luck xx

I had light bleeding on and off for the first trimester of both my pregnancies, both resulting in healthy babies. For me it was just the extra blood flow downstairs bringing blood vessels closer to the surface.

Terrifying at the time, especially with first. I rang 111, and they referred me to early pregnancy until for a scan, which confirmed all was well.

Definitely get it checked but bleeding doesn't necessarily mean you'll miscarry. Hope it works out for
you.

I had pale brown discharge with darker stringy bits at 4-5 weeks pregnant. This was my second pregnancy after an early miscarriage at 5 weeks, six months earlier.
I was beside myself with anxiety for many weeks, but that pregnancy worked out and my baby daughter is feeding from me as I type with my left hand.
Try to stay positive and take each day at a time. I hope it works out for you xx
