Short LP & cycle success stories

Hello everyone. I'm hoping for some help. TTC#2 had an unsuccessful pregnancy (termination) 3 years ago. Conceived 3rd cycle of coming off pill last time, cycles were 28-29 days. I'm a 28.

Had nexplanon implant out September and had very short cycles since 23-24 days. I ovulate around CD14-15 and then my LP is only about 8-9 days long.

Does anyone have any success stories in similar situations and any advice on lengthening cycle? I've been taking sertraline 100mg for the last 13 months, reduced my dose down to 25mg the last month and now I have stopped completely. CD1 today. I also have been drinking 2-3 coffees a day - could any of these effect my cycle?

Thank you all 💕 any advice welcome

How's everyone getting on? I'm going to H&B later to get some B6 and AC to start taking. I'm on CD20 now but no sign of ovulation from sticks or temping. Last month when I did ovulate, I had a lovely OPK line progression over 3-4 days and solid peak for two days. This month I've had almost a week of the same colour OPK line and it's not getting any stronger. So annoying, and my temp isn't spiking either so nothing is happening!

Thanks @Beau2020x

Beau2020x · 13/01/2020 09:57

@CooperLooper I forgot to say, I'd maybe start taking on CD1? This is when I started although I can't see any harm in taking right away. Someone on MN said you were supposed to stop after ovulation and then start again on CD1 next cycle which is why I am stopping this time around.

Beau2020x · 13/01/2020 09:55

@CooperLooper I got mine off amazon, I took 1 a day (even though it says twice a day) every day for the last cycle. This month, I am taking 1 a day and I'm going to stop after ovulation. I've linked mine below.

Congrats!

For anybody taking agnus castus. Which ones do you use? I'm having a look at the ones that H&B sell but it says on the info section to not take if you're pregnant or trying to get pregnant. Are there different types?

Is it worth taking them ASAP (I'm CD18 at the mo with no sign of ovulation nor BBT spike) or am I best waiting for my next CD1?

Thanks!

@Bubble29 congrats!

@Makeafamily19 I know what you mean. I even asked my gp last month and she advised me not to. But she also thinks a 9/10 day luteal is normal. It's annoying because I really think progesterone could help my case. I'm thinking of going private to find a gynecologist who would prescribe it but don't know where to start. When I do a google search in my area, I get ivf clinics results but don't want to go down that route. Does anyone know how it works if you want to go private?

Beau2020x · 12/01/2020 12:37

@Bubble29 amazing news!! Congratulations!!!

Makeafamily19 · 12/01/2020 12:31

And congratulations @Bubble29! Great news x

Makeafamily19 · 12/01/2020 12:30

No I haven't bought any progesterone cream. I did look into it but decided I won't go down that route unless I actually know it's low as I read it can have the opposite effect if not used correctly and I don't want to mess anything up further without professional advice.

Trying2019 · 12/01/2020 11:23

@Bubble29 congratulations that's so reassuring.

@Lilice i think @makingafamily19 was trying the cream this month and may be able to help x

Wearenotyourkind · 12/01/2020 08:53

That's brilliant! Congratulations @Bubble29!!

Has anyone tried a progesterone cream? If so, which one? Did it make any difference?

Girlinglasses · 10/01/2020 18:51

Hi! Not sure if it's any help but I was similar last year- came off pill in December, got pregnant quickly but miscarried late February, by July my cycles were very regular (27 days) but LP was

Bubble29 · 10/01/2020 18:41

Sorry grammar
Here

Bubble29 · 10/01/2020 18:41

@Beau2019 this is the first month I tracked using the CB 4 or more days testers

CD 6 negative
CD7 -13 high fertility (flashing smile)
CD 14 static smile

I also double checked I was ovulating with the cheap stripes too and they coincided with CB.

I’m cycle day 24 today as AF should be hear tomorrow! Hopefully not but I’m not getting my hopes up.

I’m ignoring my app (Clue) and going by CB.

Beau2020x · 10/01/2020 18:17

@Bubble29 cycle 5 sorry 🙈🙈 implant out in September but very short cycles since

Beau2020x · 10/01/2020 18:16

@Bubble29 that's strange that your LP hasn't sorted itself out yet, are you sure you aren't ovulating earlier and it might not be as short as you think?

I'm on cycle 6 since having my implant out. I think (hope) that my short LP is because my hormones are so messed up from the implant and I'm back to my 28 day cycles again x

Bubble29 · 10/01/2020 18:10

I’ve been off the pill for over 2 years but this is our first month of TTC.

I’m going to try B6 anyway as I have read online how it may lengthen LT.

How long have you been trying for?

Beau2020x · 10/01/2020 16:47

@Bubble29 what contraception did you use before? Doctors are uselss! I've been taking loads of vitamins and coincidence or not, the month I started taking them was the month I went from a 23/24 day cycle to 28 and my LP normal. It was only my 1st month of a normal cycle so not sure what it will be like this month.

Bubble29 · 10/01/2020 16:45

I should add, oddly I had 6 flaming smiley’s before my static smile

Bubble29 · 10/01/2020 16:43

Argh so glad I found this thread. I went to the doctors today to discuss a short LT and they tried to reassure me it’s fine and told me not even to bother with vit b6🙄

My cycle lasts 24/25 days and this month I tracked my ovulation for the first time using the CB sticks. I got my static smile at CD14 suggesting i ovulated on CD15.

It’s CD24 today and after my emotional state yesterday, bed sweats and cramps all week, I’m expecting my AF to arrive tomorrow.

This is my first cycle of TTC and I’m already obsessive!

CooperLooper · 10/01/2020 10:25

When I've used the CB OPKs before I got quite a few days of flashing smileys before the static one, so you might still be a couple/few days away from ovulating yet :) I think they're designed to show up your 4-5 day fertile window by detecting your hormones increasing before your LH peak x

Beau2020x · 10/01/2020 08:31

Hey @Wearenotyourkind!!

I am CD9 today, forgot to start my clear blue digi yesterday AM so did it PM and got a blank face. Did it this morning and got flashing face CD9!! I think I've messed mine up as never ovulate earlier than CD14.

Fingers crossed for you!!

Wearenotyourkind · 10/01/2020 08:06

I just got a flashing smiley (high fertility) on CD11!!!!! I'm really hoping this means I'll ovulate earlier, meaning my LP will be longer 🤞🏻 hope everyone is doing okay this week.
