Short LP & cycle success stories

Hello everyone. I'm hoping for some help. TTC#2 had an unsuccessful pregnancy (termination) 3 years ago. Conceived 3rd cycle of coming off pill last time, cycles were 28-29 days. I'm a 28.

Had nexplanon implant out September and had very short cycles since 23-24 days. I ovulate around CD14-15 and then my LP is only about 8-9 days long.

Does anyone have any success stories in similar situations and any advice on lengthening cycle? I've been taking sertraline 100mg for the last 13 months, reduced my dose down to 25mg the last month and now I have stopped completely. CD1 today. I also have been drinking 2-3 coffees a day - could any of these effect my cycle?

Thank you all 💕 any advice welcome

So no more pink tinges again? That really is weird, I wonder what is was - time will tell!

I'm doing okay, pretty crampy today but I know statistically it's too early for anything to be happening anyway. My temps are still higher than usual, so no telltale dip before AF yet.

I was likely going to test Weds too! That will be 10DPO for me, which I'll be pretty excited to achieve considering my last luteal phases were 4DPO and 9DPO. So I'll take a FRER to celebrate 😂

Trying2019 · 24/01/2020 19:46

@CooperLooper i imagine the earlier people implant the earlier they get a postive. I havent had anything since last night and no other symptoms. I dont think ill test till tuesday or Wednesday which is when i normal start spotting. I hate the uncertainty of squinters. How you feeling today?

CooperLooper · 23/01/2020 20:46

I wonder for people who implant early I'd assume they get positive tests early too? Keep an eye on it for sure because it does sound interesting! I'm 4DPO am just a day behind you, I'm feeling quite crampy/period-like today which probably isn't a good sign 😓

Trying2019 · 23/01/2020 20:31

@CooperLooper thanks for replying. Im quite happy i have actually got a sympton to spot this month 🤣 i usually ovulate the day after my peak and with me not testing properly im thinking maybe i ovulated saturday which would make it more likely. Ive been pretty dry since sunday until today when i had the spotting and never had ovulation bleeding before but as u say who bloody knows Grin

CooperLooper · 23/01/2020 18:55

Hey @Trying2019 i guess on average, based on all the info I've read over the last few months, implantation typically occurs on average 7-10DPO, so it does seem a little early.... (if we assume you ovulated Sunday/Monday 24-36hrs after LH peak), but then some sources online also say some people have been known to implant as early as day 5ish so you never know....

It could also be that you ovulated later than expected and this could be ovulation bleeding which some women get too so....

Who bloody knows but I'm excited to hear how you get on cos I love symptom spotting and hearing about other people's too! TTC is such a weird time 😂

Trying2019 · 23/01/2020 18:41

I need someone to help bring me back down to earth. I got a peak OPK friday night/saturday morning. I didnt test really before then but i think i got a negative the Wednesday or thursday. Today i have had loads of discharge and swear i saw the tiniest pink spot twice when wiping this morning and this afternoon. Tonight i have pink tinged CM. This was really obvious and in no doubt. I never spot this early i usually spot 10 DPO. Last night i had pain on my left side but had done yoga so assumed it was that. Im getting a bit excited that its implantation but really dont want to get my hopes up too much and does feel too early for implantation. Any thoughts? x

Beau2020x · 23/01/2020 09:42

7DPO for me today girls. I got my peak and a sudden decline all in one day which was CD15 so I am guessing I ovulated on that day. It would match up to the pains I got. I've been mildly cramping for the last few days which I usually get 5 days before AF - CD22 today so I am keeping everything crossed for no AF on Saturday and hoping last months 28 day cycle wasn't a fluke

CooperLooper · 23/01/2020 09:26

So happy for you, you're so lucky to have caught on the first go!

I think a lot of us are on similar timelines, how's everyone getting on? I'm either 5DPO or 4DPO today, my temp spike put me back by a day as I seemed to have a 48hr lull after peak OPKs before my temp rose.

Looking forward to symptom spotting in a few more days, I know it's too early yet 😅

Bubble29 · 23/01/2020 07:29

@Trying2019 tbh I had no idea about ovulation or anything like that so I purposely used the CB ovulation tester strips which was a game changer as my clue app predicted I would ovulate on CD10, so I would've missed the window.

I also started to take Folic acid 2 weeks before and tbh we did the Deed everyday from cycle day 7 which is when I got my first high fertility flashing smiley to CD 15 when I ovulated.

We have been very lucky to conceive on our first cycle, just hope it sticks. X

Trying2019 · 23/01/2020 07:18

@Bubble29 forgot to ask did you do anything differently the month u got your positive?

@kkr168 i ovulated day 18 and have the last three cycles. Before then i ovulated om day 23 and once day 32 and actually had a 12 day LP when i ovulated later x

Bubble29 · 22/01/2020 22:06

@kkr168 I had my peak on day 15 so potentially ovulated on later that day or on day 16 of a 24/25 day cycle

@Beau2019 thanks for your reply. Make sense, just paranoid l! X

CooperLooper · 22/01/2020 21:35

@kkr168 I ovulated CD23 this time 😔 currently 4DPO and really hoping my LP stretches out further this month, double digits would be great and a huge improvement on my last two cycles (4days and 9days)

kkr168 · 22/01/2020 21:18

Should have added I have never tracked ovulation before so not sure if its normal or not for me to ovulate late.

kkr168 · 22/01/2020 21:17

As everyone here has a short cycle, on which day do you typically ovulate?
I ovulated on cd16, usually have 24 day cycles but this months could be different as its my 1st since mc. CD16 sounds late to ovulate on a 24 day cycle!!

lunamoon1 · 22/01/2020 20:22

@Trying2019 I'm doing exactly the same mad things in my TWW too😂 I'm glad I'm not alone in my strange habits! I guess anything is worth a go, plus the Brazil nuts are quite nice! Fingers crossed it pays off for both of us & everyone else in the TWW, hope everyone's coping

Trying2019 · 22/01/2020 19:20

I am 3 or 4 DPO at moment. Im actually feeling really good but at same time i know once AF arrives ill be disappointed again. We had a relaxed month not really planning sex or tracking ovulation which was nice. I'm doing such random things this month which is making me feel like im doing something to help. Im eating brazil nuts every day as heard they help implantation and your lining and wearing socks at night as apparently warm feet = warm womb 🤣🤣🤣 im laughing at how daft it is but hey ho. I never test as the witch always arrives before. X

Wearenotyourkind · 22/01/2020 17:56

Hey - I'm currently 4DPO - our cycles are at similar stages @Beau2019. This time I'm desperately trying not to think (or more like, overthink) about every little thing in our 10 day wait (as it's been re-named 😂). Easier said than done though! I think AF is due on 28th, so I won't test till then (can't face the disappointment of negative tests if testing early). Hope everyone else is doing okay 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Beau2020x · 22/01/2020 16:38

Hey @Bubble29 I wouldn't worry about this at all! As long as your HGC is nice and high/keeps rising that's all that matters during pregnancy. Good luck to you.

How is everyone else getting on? Currently 6dpo going to try not test until 28th/29th

Bubble29 · 21/01/2020 20:48

@Trying2019 thank you. That's what I also thought. Fingers crossed. Thanks for your reply. X

Trying2019 · 21/01/2020 19:44

Hi @bubble29 this is just a guess but i thought those hormones are what the body produces at the start of your cycle to gear you up for ovulation and as you dont ovulate when you're pregnant i assume that's why they are low. So i dont think you have anything to worry about xx

Bubble29 · 21/01/2020 18:34

Hi ladies.
So just before I conceived I booked an appointment with my doctor as my luteal phase was short and I wanted to rule out any issues. She told me to see the nurse the following week and have bloods taken. Any how between that appointment and my appointment with the nurse to do blood we conceived and this was confirmed again last Wednesday which was 15DPO and approx 4 weeks pregnant

I told the nurse there was now no point taking bloods to test my hormones as I'm now pregnant however she wasn't sure what the routine was so took them anyway.

I called today and they said my I had low LS & FSH levels....... of course no explanation and I need to book an appointment with the doctor to discuss these. from what I've googled both of these hormones would be low when pregnant, as they're the stimulating hormones to initially get pregnant.

Can anyone confirm if they've had this or if my theory is right that they do drop when pregnant before I start to panic.

Thanks

Trying2019 · 19/01/2020 18:12

@makingafamily19 thanks for sharing. Im going to do the test next cycle 7DPO as that is when it should be at its highest in normal cycles and this month it would fall on the weekend. My periods was also very light when i first came off the pill. I probably have about 2 days of medium flow the rest is spotting xx

CooperLooper · 19/01/2020 15:11

Fingers crossed for you! I've started taking that this month too, but stopped today because I ovulated either yesterday or today, will pick it back up again next cycle x

Makeafamily19 · 19/01/2020 14:52

@CooperLooper yeah that's what I think as well, my lining is too thin due to low progesterone and possibly low estrogen. I've started taking agnus castus as of yesterday as it's meant to help increase progesterone. We will see...

CooperLooper · 19/01/2020 09:58

@Makeafamily19 yeah mines the same, I only really get one day of bleeding and then another day or two of very faint pink.

I read something online about urine dip sticks which can test your progesterone levels, I think mine are low which is why my periods aren't heavy and my LP is too short, I don't think I'm producing enough progesterone for my uterus lining to get thick enough? I'm hoping that I'm still just balancing out after the implant but who knows
