Hi everyone, just making this thread as it seems a few of us will be trying SMEP to TTC! Adding these lovely ladies in from another thread but I hope everyone feels free to join! All welcome :)

@Devgirl31 @fayy123 @NCON @MrsKJW19

Some stats about me:

TTC #1
27 years old, DH is 28 years old
Missed miscarriage in October 2019 at 7+2 weeks
Still in that cycle (no AF yet)
Long and irregular cycles, some anovulatory
Suspected low progesterone/hypothyroidism (I think this based on symptoms, not diagnosed yet!)

Hope we can all provide support for each other in this crazy TTC journey.

@LosingtheTTCplot yes if you had a pos yesterday then you need to dtd today and tomorrow as well if following SMEP.

Had my peak yesterday. Negative today. So probably ovulated today.

Not DTD since yesterday morning. Worth doing today? And tomorrow?

Kind of in a foul mood! But will give it a go if needs be!

@ChampooPapi ooh I do envy you being on CD15! Honestly I'm willing time to hurry up so we can crack on. I know that's awful but I am really desperate to be PG again.

How old are your children? Did it take you long to fall with them? Apologies if I've already asked you this - I'm losing track on who I've asked what!

I don't think having a drink matters unless you get a positive HPT (I might be wrong?!) anyway, controversial or not, we're not here to judge each other, just support. We all want the same thing at the end of the day.

Fingers crossed it's all of our months! My app is saying I may ovulate from the last week of December to first week in January. Just hoping and praying although I'm not naive and know it can take months/years. Really hoping I'm more fertile post-miscarriage! x

@fayy123 you temp using a basal body thermometer and when your temp goes up that means you've ovulated. It's a little more complicated than that which is why I choose to follow an app :) I like it because even if you have a positive OPK it doesn't mean you've definitely ovulated. A rise in BBT is the only way to know (along with an ultrasound) x

@fayy123 did your OPK get any darker? the last one you posted looked almost there! I try to limit fluid intake when I do them, but also heard it's good to try and drink 2l a day when TTC (or any time really) so I try as much as I can whilst still getting my fluid intake in!

@ChampooPapi agreed about eating and drinking what you want around the festive time, it's the one time of the year it's allowed, need to enjoy it as much as poss!

I won't even see a positive OPK til next week so it'll be after Christmas I'll be testing🤞🏼

@fayy123 I think some people do as the lines will be stronger with more concentrated urine. This was one of the things that put me off the ICs as I drink LOADS and cant hold it in haha so doing it in the morning is best for me!

I'm still a week away from testing! Want to fast forward now, so impatient!

Quick question, did you reduce liquid intake before you take the test? And for how long? Sometimes i forget to not drink for couple of hours before hand but I still take it.. does it really matter? X

I done one this morning and around 3pm, which was a bit darker but still not peak.. iv only 1 opk left so waiting until tomorrow to use that, have ordered more which are due to arrive Thursday! BD today just incase

@danielasummer my partner is away with work from Monday morning untill Thursday early eve, this is why I basically am just dtd whenever he is here from when my period ended. We have two children together so they keep me company while I day dream about adding a third to our mix.

I think after next weekend I will give up on the constant sex schedule though as I'll be due my period around the 26th, also it'll be nearly Christmas so I will be focusing on the array of booze I will consume in my pyjamas. I know I know, controversial on a ttc thread, but it's been a hell of a few months and Jesus pregnancy and the new born phase is a dry old time.

It could be your month, it will definitely be a few peoples on this thread which is pretty exciting.. already someone is probably pregnant but doesn't know it, this life is crazy !

Heyy how are you getting on? Did you get a darker line? ( that’s literally after Ive left it for 15min) it takes so long for the line to get dark 🤔 and the darkest I’ve seen so far x

No I don’t temp.. only been using OPKS and that’s the darkest I’ve got so far! How do I temp? 🙈 sounds stressful!

@fayy123 I really think you'll be fine then with all of that BD you've been doing and if you go again today and tomorrow! Good luck!! Do you temp? If you do then you'll definitely be able to see if you've ovulated.

I'm on CD 5 so only 3 more days til the fun begins! Haha x

@fayy123 I don't think it's quite there yet but sod it, BD if you can do you can cover all bases! Then BD again tomorrow if you can because chances are you will ovulate tomorrow as the line today is pretty dark x

@fayy123 if you ovulate late your period will arrive late too usually at the time between ovulation and AF coming doesn't differ by much, but time between next period and ovulation can differ a lot! but also could be you have missed it, if you have other symptoms to go on I'd go with that!

Doing SMEP too this month but got at least 9/10 days until ov, feels like ages!

Still no AF, but getting weird symptoms. Hmmm my body must be going through depo withdrawal or some unexplained madness.

This is my second month using it.. but last month I was just experimenting. I’m using the one step strips from amazon! My cycles are usually 25-28 days.. I ovulated on CD12 last month but didn’t bother to BD😂 I got a really strong positive. Just a little confused tho! if I was to get a positive later will that not be too close to my period? My period will literally be due the following week? I can feel twinges in my left so I feel that I am ovulating. Maybe I’m just testing at the wrong time or have missed it due to not testing as often during the day?

@fayy123 i only use Femometer app.. i dont have any pictures of them sorry just the ones on that app.. so my darkest has only been scored a 30..

@lunamoon1 yeah this is my first month using them.. cycles all over the place as only came off pill 8 weeks ago.. thank you for letting us know how it works for you! Hopefully get a positive soon enough xx
