Hi everyone, just making this thread as it seems a few of us will be trying SMEP to TTC! Adding these lovely ladies in from another thread but I hope everyone feels free to join! All welcome :)

@Devgirl31 @fayy123 @NCON @MrsKJW19

Some stats about me:

TTC #1
27 years old, DH is 28 years old
Missed miscarriage in October 2019 at 7+2 weeks
Still in that cycle (no AF yet)
Long and irregular cycles, some anovulatory
Suspected low progesterone/hypothyroidism (I think this based on symptoms, not diagnosed yet!)

Hope we can all provide support for each other in this crazy TTC journey.

Feel free to introduce yourselves :)

@danielasummer unfortunately AF did arrive yesterday bang on time 😔 planning to follow SMEP to the letter this month and see what happens!

HE88 · 02/01/2020 20:11

@danielasummer thank you Smile I followed it pretty much to the t the only thing I didn't do was dtd when you were meant to miss a day after the 3 days then do it again I didn't manage to dtd that day. Xx

@fayy123 thank you Smile no I haven't missed my period it is due on the 6th, I'm 11 dpo, this is my 2nd have been trying for 2 years ended up having to have a laparoscopy. Symptoms wise low abdo cramping with lots of twinges on right side, sore boobs, white cm that's about it really. Xx

Hi everyone, hope it's ok to join!

I'm 28, DH is 32.
TTC #1, first cycle as only just come off the Pill. Had a withdrawal bleed pretty much straight away on 9th Dec and have been taking OPKs since Xmas Eve. No idea how long my cycles are after being on the pill for 12 years so it's all a mystery at the moment! Trying to BD every other day and just see what happens at the moment. Congratulations @HE88 Grin

fayy123 · 02/01/2020 19:59

@HE88 congratulations!! How many DPO are you? Any symptoms? X

fayy123 · 02/01/2020 19:52

@Shazzzzz hey sorry thought I @ you earlier! How you getting on? X

fayy123 · 02/01/2020 19:50

@danielasummer hello!! Oh no thought I did the @!! Oopssss! I’m getting on well thank you! How are you? I’m really hoping for BFP this month 😔😔😔 I’m not using OPKS they have really stressed me out last month! Literally similar to what @Shazzzzz was saying! DTD every other day! Hoping it works! How you getting on? X

fayy123 · 02/01/2020 19:41

How often is everyone DTD? I’m trying to do it every other day 😭😭

fayy123 · 02/01/2020 19:41

Aww congrats!! did you miss your period yet? First baby? X

danielasummer · 02/01/2020 19:40

@HE88 aw congratulations!! I'm so happy for you - please keep us updated. Did you follow SMEP to a T?

@Bunny2006 hello, ahh I'm sorry you had to work so much over the Xmas period, but I suppose it's good news for temping! I don't think that would have mattered if it was early cycle days.

@ChampooPapi hi lovely, virtual hug right back at you Smile hope you had a good new years. No not going back to the hospital regarding miscarriage but have a referral for a fertility clinic so fingers crossed that will be in the near-ish future! How was your chilled NY? I agree, always overrated! How are you doing? Sounds like you're having lots of sex which is great! Thinking of you and hope we get to hold our rainbows in 2020.

@bluemoon2468 hi, just wondering if AF arrived for you? Hoping not!

@Shazzzzz bless you, hope you're feeling better? I've also been hit with the cough and cold! The joys! Nothing sexy about a snotty, emotional, desperate-for-a-baby wife Grin also I would take EWCM as a positive! Fingers crossed for you.

@sojo44 ahh sounds great. Fumbling around in the dark for my thermometer every morning is becoming a bit annoying - still not used to it after all these years. I will look into Ovusense in a few cycles time I think as it is quite costly from memory? I also have long cycles..sigh.. very annoying aren't they?! Have you been to the doctors about that? We had some lovely food at my in-laws for NY and everyone was having a very -drunk- merry old time (apart from me as I don't drink). Hope you had a great one in Scandinavia! Very jealous!

@fayy123 hi lovely, not sure who your message is to because of no @ to anyone? But just wanted to say hello! How are you getting on?

So I had my thyroid tests back and my TSH is 1.11 and my Free T4 is 13.3 - does anyone know if these are ok? My notes said that they were normal but I've had it in the past where the notes said various bloods were normal but upon research they weren't, which has left me slightly untrustworthy of my very overrun and ancient GP practice... Progesterone test tomorrow which will be inaccurate as my cycle is long and the blood test is taken on the wrong day of my cycle. Awesome. Referral for the fertility specialist hopefully coming in the post soon so that we can get the ball rolling!

On CD28 and feeling super emotional. STILL no ovulation, but today my app has predicted that today's the day (we shall bloody see). Have DTD pretty much every day for 2 weeks now. Surely all of this BDing will amount to something this month.. we're exhausted!! Also I'm quite sick so it really has been a mission.

Had spotting for 4 days, today none though. Today first day of slightly 'wet' feeling down there (so sorry for TMI..feeling grateful to remain anonymous on here haha) and a little watery cm today which I'm taking as a good sign. As always, trying to remain positive but also so worried something is wrong. I'm a bit of an anxious person anyway!

Feeling hopeful though. We have had our first few BFPs on here which makes me really happy Smile our time will come, I'm sure. Lashings and lashings (bucket and truck loads) of baby dust to us all xxxx

@Shazzzzz thank you Smile glad I used a Frer first now xx

Shazzzzz · 02/01/2020 17:03

@HE88 i dont think the clear blue are as sensitive! I actually googled this question comparing FRER to clear blue and a lot said FRER are the most reliable when testing early! Congratulations 😁

HE88 · 02/01/2020 16:32

@bluemoon2468 thank you I've bought more Frer so will do another tomorrow just to check but I've got a good feeling that I am Grin xx

bluemoon2468 · 02/01/2020 16:05

@HE88 sounds like you're pregnant. Digital tests are less sensitive, so it'll take longer to get a positive, but if you have had two clear positives then you are definitely pregnant. Congratulations!

HE88 · 02/01/2020 15:48

Hi all has anyone ever used the clearblue digital pregnancy test the one that says pregnant/not pregnant how reliable are they?
I used a Frer yesterday morning I got a definite positive used the cb digital this morning but got a not pregnant so then used a normal cb test that came back positive. So I'm confused am I pregnant or not? Help please! Xx

ChampooPapi · 02/01/2020 14:13

@danielasummer how is everything your end of things? You doing ok lovely?

And how is everyone else? Who's doing smep this month too ? I've decided just to have sex practically every day from the end of my period untill the next one is due. To hell with it 😆 cd7 and already done it 4 times.

fayy123 · 01/01/2020 23:35

Heyy! Sorry just seen this now! Been super MIA! Hoping for a BFP this month!! How have you been? X

fayy123 · 01/01/2020 23:32

When is your AF due? Is this your first month trying? How often you DTD? my period is due on the 16th as well! Really hoping for a BFP!! are you getting any symptoms? X

fayy123 · 01/01/2020 23:30

This has happened to me!!! I never got a positive OPK last month and stopped using OPKS and just going with bodily signs... it’s so confusing isn’t it!!!!! Urghh

Bunny2006 · 01/01/2020 20:53

@ChampooPapi Hahaha self inseminating sounds pretty good!! It is a lot. I have been struggling and find myself thinking just give me the sperm already 😆 But recently I am trying to enjoy it and not focus on the 'end result'.

ChampooPapi · 01/01/2020 19:58

@Bunny2006 yes I think you've just got to go for it really, then if it doesn't happen after six months one can really push forward with tests and going down those other routes as well. I absolutely live for a satisfying throw down but even I am getting to the point where of I could self inseminate i would 😆

It is an un-natural amount of sex practically every day isn't it?! I had Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday free of dtd the past few months but now it's Christmas break I'm feeling very 'over' doing sex right now

Bunny2006 · 01/01/2020 18:08

@ChampooPapi that's interesting! I read a similar article on Ovusense website, also says sperm count/motility can improve through having daily sex. I was under the impression if sperm count is low it would be best to 'save up' sperm and DTD every few days but apparently not. I have a very low sex drive but past couple of cycles I've been more keen, hopefully more of it becomes the norm for us so it's less of a strain!

ChampooPapi · 01/01/2020 18:01

I've just read something about a study of 300 women who were all trying for baby and although most of them thought they knew when they were ovulating through one method no or another, actually only 13% of them did!

So the smep way seems the best for ttc.

Have lots of sex through out the whole month is the take away from this. I think I actually conceived my second daughter a few days after my period so it makes sense that ovulation is not always when you think. But that percentage is pretty mind blowing considering how many of us there are thinking we are fertile/ovulating at certain times, myself included!

God though, now I feel like I have to just have sex every day until my af due 🙄

Shazzzzz · 31/12/2019 15:45

CD20, i had the copper coil out the day after the end of my last cycle and haven't had a bleed since, feel like it is taking forever though 🤦🏽‍♀️

Diamond94 · 31/12/2019 15:00

Good idea 😂 im not 100% sure what CD i am.. i an either CD24 or 34... i stopped the pill end of october, had a bleed and then bled again like 10 days later.. so im going by the 2nd bleed and counting the first as withdrawal.. so CD24 i think 😂 you?

Shazzzzz · 31/12/2019 11:14

@Diamond94 premom, if no positive this month im just gonna delete it, throw the opks and hope for the best next month 🤷🏽‍♀️ i think i will test on Monday 😂 fingers crossed for a BFP🤞 What CD are you on?
