Hi everyone, just making this thread as it seems a few of us will be trying SMEP to TTC! Adding these lovely ladies in from another thread but I hope everyone feels free to join! All welcome :)

@Devgirl31 @fayy123 @NCON @MrsKJW19

Some stats about me:

TTC #1
27 years old, DH is 28 years old
Missed miscarriage in October 2019 at 7+2 weeks
Still in that cycle (no AF yet)
Long and irregular cycles, some anovulatory
Suspected low progesterone/hypothyroidism (I think this based on symptoms, not diagnosed yet!)

Hope we can all provide support for each other in this crazy TTC journey.

Feel free to introduce yourselves :)

@fayy123 just the 1, little boy! It was a scary surprise haha. I wasn't prepared but i am so ready for the next one now because he is 4 this year! I hope you do would be an amazing start to 2020 😄😄 xx

fayy123 · 06/01/2020 19:17

@Shazzzzz No way omg, what a pleasant surprise that was! How many children do you have? Really hoping we get our BFP (big fat positive) this month!! I feel like it happens when you’re least expecting it lol

fayy123 · 06/01/2020 19:16

Shazzzzz · 06/01/2020 17:03

@fayy123 i know if we BD every other day we are covered! I fell pregnant on the pill with my first believe it or not 🙈

fayy123 · 06/01/2020 16:42

@Shazzzzz same! I tried OPKS but didn’t work for me either, I personally think it’s all too stressful too much tracking lol

Shazzzzz · 06/01/2020 16:36

@fayy123 exactly, Its all about keeping sane and not stressing because that doesn't help! I googled a lot before i started and read about opk's but they haven't worked for me so if i dont get caught this month im gonna try BBT 😄 xx

fayy123 · 06/01/2020 14:53

@Shazzzzz hopefully it is your month!!! We can only be excited eyy! I started TTC in October so 3rd month 😭 but only properly started checking for my fertile week using an app now lol 😭

Shazzzzz · 06/01/2020 08:30

@fayy123 this is my first month actually trying, i know id be very lucky to get caught on my first month but you never know! If i dont i think i will relax a bit but its all exciting at the minute! How long have you? X

fayy123 · 05/01/2020 22:56

@Shazzzzz Lool!! when are you going to test? You’re almost there😭 how long have you been TTC for btw?x

Shazzzzz · 05/01/2020 19:48

@Lucy5546 19 dpo!! Im 8dpo and goin crazy 🤣 i am taking the "it will happen when its suppose to" approach but im so impatient i just want to know 😂

Lucy5546 · 05/01/2020 18:40

@danielasummer i have read a lot of articles that say every two days should be enough as it gives the sperm enough time to regenerate. It only takes the one sperm for it to happen so TBH its all about luck.
We took a more relaxed approach this cycle and just DTD when we felt like it. And that seemed to have worked for us

Lucy5546 · 05/01/2020 18:36

@Shazzzzz i didnt test until what i think was 19 DPO i was away so i wasnt really thinking about it.!!

@fayy123 i am just using some free app from the play store. I only came off the pill at the end of september so i wasnt expecting anythin to happen so quick!! We DTD every second day until i noticed a change in my CM then we DTD every day for about 5 days. Then back to every other day until i knew we were covered haha

sojo44 · 05/01/2020 17:27

@danielasummer it's definitely more costly upfront, but I calculated the upfront costs work out just over 13 quid a month (for 12 months) which I could offset as no longer needed to try more expensive OV trackers like the Clearblue and then a few less FRERs. I have been to the docs, they ran all the blood tests and did the ultrasound to confirm suspected PCOS, so next time I book a appointment with the GP she said she'd refer me to the fertility clinic (🙁) but we decided we'd chill out over the festive period and then face it around Jan/Feb. My Ovusense confirmed OV first cycle using it so at least I have that, and it's not PCOS anovulatory cycles (silver lining). Waiting to see what happens now 🤷‍♀️ and if not successful it's to the GP I go. Sounds like a lovely NYE!! How are you getting on? Xx

Approximately 4-5DPO now (apparently) so I'll see how this all goes 🤓

How is everyone else doing? Xx

ChampooPapi · 05/01/2020 16:00

@danielasummer god I'm totally the wrong person to answer this , I've gone mental this cycle. Absolutely bloody mental. After what we both have been through and the dissapointments of the last few cycles I would just go for broke this month, (as in keep it up every day). I think then if it doesn't work you can totally take a much more relaxed approach knowing you've tried the 'ridiculous sex schedule' thing and it didn't work.

Otherwise won't you be thinking 'if only I'd done it every day I might have caught'. But I have completely lost my own mind so please of your burning out and are hating sex or anything like that then just stop for sure on the daily. It is not worth it for your own self worth let alone your relationship. But if not.... Keep it up till Friday 🤔

danielasummer · 05/01/2020 11:52

@Shazzzzz thanks, through BBT (that's the only way this cycle as I'm fed up with OPKs and can't tell my cm as it might be seminal fluid?!) x

@danielasummer every other day should keep you covered, how are you monitoring ovulation? X

danielasummer · 05/01/2020 10:58

Hi everyone. Just a quick question - are you having sex every other day or every day during your fertile window? We have been BDing every day (apart from 2 missed days) for 15 days now with no sign of ovulation, and we're starting to become a bit burnt out! Now wondering if we should go with every other day and see how we get on. But does that drastically reduce our chances this cycle? Help please! :)

@Bunny2006 thanks! That's what I have it as - will leave it that way 🙂

Shazzzzz · 04/01/2020 20:31

@fayy123 i have BD 10 times since the 14th Dec, so just skipped a day until the 23rd and missed 3 days because i was ill 😣 i got ewcm on the 26th so think i might have got lucky with ov timing so i BD 26th. 27th and 28th then every other day since 🙈 its hard work, i have never got positive on an opk though 🤷🏽‍♀️ i dont feel like im pregnant i think the test will be negative but i guess thats how everyone feels when TTC xx

fayy123 · 04/01/2020 20:19

@Shazzzzz ahhhha no I’m not feeling anything! Tbh I really don’t think I’m pregnant lol! Only BD 3 times 😂 once on the day of O! Maybe a miracle will happen lol.. how many times did you BD? X

Shazzzzz · 04/01/2020 20:05

@fayy123 are you feeling anything?? 🤞

Shazzzzz · 04/01/2020 20:05

@fayy123 i keep getting weird twinges in my stomach and my mood swings are horrendous😂 even im noticing im moody!! I think the twinges are in my head haha, i want to test on a weekend when im not at work so if i do get a bfp it can sink in so frustrating!! I will have to wait until next saturday 😫

fayy123 · 04/01/2020 19:42

@Lucy5546 I might try this approach next month!! What app are you using to track? and how many days did you roughly BD? X

fayy123 · 04/01/2020 19:41

@Shazzzzz omg I’m also 4DPO! AF is due on the 15th🙈🙈🙈 Wayyyyy tooo early to test 😂😂 are you feeling anything? X

Shazzzzz · 04/01/2020 19:09

@Lucy5546 congratulations!! GrinWhen did you test?
