Hi everyone, just making this thread as it seems a few of us will be trying SMEP to TTC! Adding these lovely ladies in from another thread but I hope everyone feels free to join! All welcome :)

@Devgirl31 @fayy123 @NCON @MrsKJW19

Some stats about me:

TTC #1
27 years old, DH is 28 years old
Missed miscarriage in October 2019 at 7+2 weeks
Still in that cycle (no AF yet)
Long and irregular cycles, some anovulatory
Suspected low progesterone/hypothyroidism (I think this based on symptoms, not diagnosed yet!)

Hope we can all provide support for each other in this crazy TTC journey.

Feel free to introduce yourselves :)

Thanks @Shazzzzz. Hubby has been informed that it's all systems go for the next few days Grin Hope you are getting on ok!

Shazzzzz · 22/04/2020 10:37

@Pixielou16 i would definitely listen to the smiley! Smile

I dont think the cheapies are that reliable! When i used them i didn't ever get a line so i gave up! X

Pixielou16 · 22/04/2020 09:10

Hi everyone! Congratulations @ChampooPapi, what great news!

Hope you are all doing ok ladies. I've been a bit quiet getting to grips this week with teaching online - new technology and me don't mix well!
This morning I had my first static smiley Smile However, on the cheapy OPK there is barely a line at all! My app tells me I'm not due to ov until CD20, but today is CD14, so a static would make sense? I've been temping but can't really read the charts well yet, and I've had some EWCM - but I feel I can't really tell between EWCM, sperm and Conceive Plus/Preseed!

We have been BDing every other day anyway to cover our bases, but just wondering what you all make of it!

@ChampooPapi Ohh waaaw! twins!! Amazing 💕

im around 10/11 DPO i think🤨 i havent been tracking to be honest!

ChampooPapi · 18/04/2020 16:40

Also we will reach 1000 messages in a page or two so one of you ladies may have to take the torch from @danielasummer

ChampooPapi · 18/04/2020 16:35

Hey @Shazzzzz all ok my end, just being really useless and feeble with my mega morning sickness. It's twins so at least that explains why it's the worst ever! What day post ovulation are you on? So nice to hear from you and that your back trying again, when in doors all the time why not! 😉

Waves weakly @Littlepeas2 , I'm being really crap at mumsnet at the moment so sorry I only just replied. So glad your a good few days into your AF now, this month is your month woman 💪♥️

@danielasummer now now, your talking to the anxiety pro here! I wish I could talk you down but I'm in overdrive with the worries, doubled by the magnificence of twins, such a blessing but suddenly every issue is doubled. My current stressing has been about the Harmony/nipt test that I can ill afford. But the last 24 hours the obsession that the NHS won't pick up the issues has filled my every waking thought. It's also hard to get in Devon currently because of covid so I've had to forgo the private hospitals I would definitely prefer to engage with on this sort of thing, and use ultrasound direct in Exeter. But it's the same test and they have to pass my information on to the midwive and hospital so I'll ignor the merch when I go into reception and just get it over with for the sake of sanity.

Those clinics just feel a bit wrong to me, and they are very obviously in it for the money. But I won't be able to enjoy this pregnancy experience without that test so booked in first week of May.

I phoned my midwife to see if they would do it for free as I'm expecting multiples but unless the 12 week scan reveals high risk, which wouldn't come back untill like 16 weeks, they don't do it.

It really just should be the nhs's standard blood test!

Anyway are you ok my lovely? Don't worry about responding soon or anything, just thinking of you and sending love ♥️ and hugs and a heap of my own whirring brain neurosis 🙄

Oh also how is your partner doing, he better be looking after you. This is a really odd time isn't it, with the covid as well it just makes the days seem so surreal and then ones trapped in ones head so much.

Shazzzzz · 18/04/2020 14:55

Hi @Niisa i had a lovely easter forced myself to actually have some time off and spend it with family! How was yours?

@danielasummer @ChampooPapi and any other pregnant ladies... how are you getting on?

Ive been very quiet on here lately with work and the fact ive been putting off TTC, think im ready to start again now just waiting on AF to arrive 🤦🏽‍♀️

Niisa · 15/04/2020 18:55

Hey ladies! How you all doing? Hope you had a lovely Easter!
Thankfully, I got my bfn this morning so this miscarriage is gladly truly over!

TMI but been having brown discharge which sometimes turns the teeniest bit bloody for the last 3 days. Not too sure what it is but I’m now CD20. Will wait another 3 weeks max before I call epu again as they said to call if AF isn’t back by 6 weeks. Will also take a pg test round about that time on the slightly off chance I may be preggers again! FC! Praying for you all xxx

danielasummer · 13/04/2020 07:39

@Littlepeas2 hello lovely, I'm glad you finally know what's going on and can start a new cycle afresh. Very strange that AF took so long! My fingers are crossed for you this month xx

Sorry it's taken me a while to reply. I've been trying to avoid MN a bit as my anxiety has reared it's ugly head and I'm trying to stop myself from scrolling through threads, checking if people are going through what I'm going through. I will be on here every couple of days or so :)

Hope everyone is keeping well x

Hi ladies! Cycle day 1 here!! Just so happy that I’ve finally come on. The waiting knowing I wasn’t pregnant wasn’t great.

Hope you are keeping well in this heat!! I will keep you updated 😘 please keep me updated with your journeys too!! X

danielasummer · 11/04/2020 08:42

@Niisa hi lovely, sorry for the late reply! I haven't been posting at all lately the last few days as I'm just trying to keep my anxiety in check. How are you doing? Did you ovulate? How was your little party? :)

@Pixielou16 I'm really sorry AF got you.. you're doing all of the right things though with regards to supplements, BPA etc. We can't control many elements of TTC but the ones we can control, you are implementing. I really have my fingers crossed to you as I know the pain of AF coming. All I can say is that it WILL happen one day, maybe not this cycle or the next (hope I'm wrong!) but it absolutely will. When I'd lost all hope and had a fertility appointment booked for a tube checking procedure, I fell. The same can happen to you and I really hope it does. I hope you feel a little more positive x

@Shazzzzz aw thank you so much. How are you doing lovely?

@Littlepeas2 so sorry to hear AF still hasn't arrived! The only conclusion I can gather is that you ovulated much later than you thought, or you are indeed pregnant. Are you planning on testing again soon? Please keep us updated. I understand the annoyance of not knowing, as someone with cycles with 20+ day variability! So annoying!! We will be here for you either way x

@ChampooPapi hello, so sorry to hear you're feeling unwell! I hope you're being well looked after? Your eldest is old enough to make you tea and toast, isn't she? Thank you so much for that link x I've had a little read of it and you're right, people aren't as anxious/fast moving as the December 2020 thread! To be honest, I'm too scared to join either of them at the moment. I really can't believe I'm pregnant. I've asked my husband to hide my thermometer and I was so tempted to take another pregnancy test the other day but I stopped myself. I'm scared to post on the threads in case something happens again and I need to write the same post that I wrote on the May 2020 thread last year..so at the moment I'm laying low and taking each day as it comes, and will only believe I'm pregnant at the 12 week scan. I'm also going to expect the worst going into it and if it's happy news then it's a bonus. Probably not the best state of mind to be in and I am very hopeful, don't get me wrong, but I'm petrified. Luckily not feeling all-consumingly anxious like last time but I have my moments. Only DH and I know so at least he can talk me down, instead of my whole family giving their opinions etc like last time!

Have you had your date through for your 12 week scan? Do you have any other symptoms other than sickness? How far along are you now? Again, just so pleased we are on this journey together :) it gives me all the feels to know that we have had some seriously low moments but we will hopefully have our babies at roughly the same time! x

@littlepeas2 it is ridiculous! It's a nightmare really, I'm just so sorry you are going through this. You must be absolutely sick and tired of this bollocks, I mean why?!

I'm hoping as I write this your celebrating cd1 and looking forward to another cycle 💪♥️

@danielasummer how are you doing lovely? I hope all ok your end. This is the thread I'm a part of (a very small part due to the horizontal 🤢 life I'm currently living)

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3864914-due-around-25th-november-2020?msgid=95500452#95500452

The December thread is really busy and moves so fast, and what with more anxious pregnant women, comes obviously more anxious pregnant woman 😆

So that can get a bit much!

That link obviously holds behind it anxious pregnant women also, me included, but it is so much less intense when there are fewer posts so hopefully you'll come on there at some point.

I know it's early for you and even for me, but believing it's going to work out is all we have surly? The alternative is believing it'll go wrong and living in that bad place again.

We don't need to live there UNTILL it actually does go wrong.

If it does.

Which it won't 🌈👣

Littlepeas2 · 09/04/2020 15:15

@ChampooPapi the sickness is good!! Your body is getting to work!! So so excited for you. Easy for me to say when I haven’t got to deal with sickness I know 😂
Oh champoo I do not know!! 10 days late now. I haven’t done a test since the one I did on Sunday because I’d much rather AF than negative but this is getting bloody ridiculous!!

ChampooPapi · 09/04/2020 12:36

And where the hell is your period woman!

ChampooPapi · 09/04/2020 12:36

@Littlepeas2 I'm absolutely useless! I've been hit hard by the morning sickness train and I'm basically a non person currently 😣

Littlepeas2 · 09/04/2020 10:28

Thank you @danielasummer ! I am still waiting for AF 🙄 I have had lots of watery/lotion CM the past 3 days so I’m hoping it’s a sign she’s on her way! (Who ever thought I’d be wishing her to come)

@Pixielou16 sorry to hear AF came. There’s so much going on in the world at the moment, I’m sure it can’t be helping with people TTC!

@Niisa keeping my fingers crossed you get your positive OPK!!

@ChampooPapi How are you?!

Shazzzzz · 09/04/2020 08:24

@danielasummer omg amazing news!!! So happy for you!! 🥰

Pixielou16 · 09/04/2020 07:14

@danielasummer unfortunately, as I suspected, AF got me this morning after a couple of crampy days. Starting to feel like it'll never happen for us. Trying to keep positive though, and OH tries to keep me positive but I felt so down about it all yesterday. Going to try to stick to a really healthy diet, already taking all the supplements recommended in the book, have cut out nail varnish and any beauty products with parabens in, don't use BPA containing products. Trying to maximise vitamin D levels by being in the garden a lot during this awful lockdown. At least this is a new cycle and we can get on with this next go around.

Niisa · 08/04/2020 20:31

@danielasummer tell me about it! Haven’t taken the pg test yet but did the clearblue opk and it was positive - I’m so baffled! Haven’t tried the epu today as it was my Nieces birthday so we’re having a little party with the inhabitants of my household Grin
Gonna take the pg test and the boots opk tonight and will probably put on a sexy number & BD as it’s CD13 aaaaand OPK was positive today (2 negatives yesterday). Will Deffo keep you posted xx

How are things going for you? And all the other lovely ladies here? xxx

danielasummer · 08/04/2020 19:06

@Pixielou16 hi, how are you doing today? Did AF arrive? I'm on another thread and someone has a luteal phase of 9 days and is pregnant (with previous children too) so there is hope. The book is great and if you join the Facebook page, there is lots of useful info on there and Rebecca Fett often replies to comments and questions x

@Niisa hello, I know, it's so easy to fall into the trap of testing loads. Can imagine it's much worse now too that we're at home all day! How are you doing today? What have your tests said today, if you've tested? Also did the EPU ring back? x

OP posts:
Niisa · 07/04/2020 15:06

*took the 2 different OPK tests today: results = negative

Opk was positive yesterday and the day before (I assume due to hormones from miscarriage)

Niisa · 07/04/2020 15:03

@danielasummer still no luck with the epu rolls eyes took another pg test last night and an ovulation test - don’t even know why lol I think I’ve just become obsessed with testing as I want the all -ve! Both tests came back +ve (pg test stated 1-2 weeks). Hubby and I had BD’d last night as it’s been a while and I was just in the mood (tmi I know sorry) and it was very uncomfortable.

Took 2 different opk tests - 1 clear blue and one Boots brand, both showed -ve so I’m thinking I’ve finally overcome the miscarriage dances . I’ve ordered some more pg tests which arrive tomorrow so hoping that it will be -ve and will start testing for ovulation every other day as I don’t know what my cycle is like right now. Counting from the first day of my miscarriage I’m in CD12 so will test CD14. Hoping I do ovulate soon as I would loveeeeee to fall preggers this month!

Pixielou16 · 07/04/2020 11:39

Hey everyone, just checking in. I'm 10DPO but have had minimal brownish cm for the last few days. 8 & 9 DPO- only just before bedtime, only on wiping, and then this morning, so 10 DPO when wiping but a little more than the previous two days. I think I'm about to start my period because I just don't feel pregnant. I'm worried that my luteal phase isn't long enough to support pregnancy. Does anyone have experience of this? Or how to lengthen the luteal phase? After @danielasummer recommended It All Starts with the Egg, I've been following a lot of the recommendations from that.

danielasummer · 07/04/2020 07:15

@Littlepeas2 ahh bless you, thanks. I just do love this topic in general but I also feel like we’re all TTC friends and a support network for one another so I just like to chat to you as if we were discussing it in real life!

Ok if I were you I would start temping so you know for sure when you have ovulated and which DPO you are. If you don’t want to temp, I would BD every day from CD8 until you get your period (or until 14 days after you would expect your period if you are regular but things are going a bit haywire/longer, so BD all the way up to 14DPO if you haven’t come on your period) just to cover yourself. Honestly I’ve never been told to do this but I’m just thinking what I would do if I had regular cycles but they were going a bit random over this covid 19 business.

Are your cycles usually regular?

I’m good thanks, honestly this morning woken up to a little anxiety as I’m scared it’ll happen again and gutted I can’t have a scan before 12 weeks but trying to remain positive! Due 11th December, all being well 🤍 ❄️

OP posts:
Littlepeas2 · 06/04/2020 19:32

@danielasummer you are amazing! You respond to everyone so thoughtfully.

I didn’t track with OPK just CM. I have continued having CM since the day believed to be ovulation but just minimal. Then I had the day with the cramping followed by EWCM type which would have been what I thought was 9dpo but maybe it was ovulation. (In which case I’m out because we didn’t DTD in the days before)
However.. just to confuse the situation even more I have just had again what looks exactly like EWCM?! should I DTD just incase?

Omg I’m so sorry for my essays. You must dread seeing a notification from me 🤣

How are you? Is it starting to sink in yet? When do your dates make you due?! 🙊
