Hi everyone, just making this thread as it seems a few of us will be trying SMEP to TTC! Adding these lovely ladies in from another thread but I hope everyone feels free to join! All welcome :)

@Devgirl31 @fayy123 @NCON @MrsKJW19

Some stats about me:

TTC #1
27 years old, DH is 28 years old
Missed miscarriage in October 2019 at 7+2 weeks
Still in that cycle (no AF yet)
Long and irregular cycles, some anovulatory
Suspected low progesterone/hypothyroidism (I think this based on symptoms, not diagnosed yet!)

Hope we can all provide support for each other in this crazy TTC journey.

Feel free to introduce yourselves :)

@bluemoon2468 congratulations lovely news 😍. Its so nice to see all the bfp coming in and sending lots of baby dust to those still waiting your time will come 😁😘

JoesM12 · 24/01/2020 18:15

@bluemoon2468 that does look a very strong line for 8dpo, but that is really reassuring for you❤️
Thank you! The last 3 cycles we were doing every day in my fertile window, I think we need to try every second day because that for sure isn’t working!

bluemoon2468 · 24/01/2020 18:09

@Mrssendy thanks so much!! Might send DH out to get some right now!

bluemoon2468 · 24/01/2020 18:05

@JoesM12 tbh last month I tried to time it all around ovulation and this month I just decided that was too stressful, and that by DTD every second day we'd cover our bases regardless.

bluemoon2468 · 24/01/2020 18:04

@JoesM12 thank you! Well I'm not really sure when I ovulated, because natural cycles says it was 8 days ago and I'm pretty sure it wasn't from looking at that line! So I really can't say. But it would definitely have either been the day before and day after or 2 days before and the day of.

JoesM12 · 24/01/2020 17:58

Huge congratulations @bluemoon2468 😍
That’s brilliant news!!
If you don’t mind me asking, with you doing every second day did you dtd on ov day or the day before and day after?x

bluemoon2468 · 24/01/2020 17:55

@Mrssendy omg do you remember the name of the brand?

Mrssendy · 24/01/2020 17:43

@bluemoon2468 oh I bet you do! My SIL told me about this no-Seco (non alcohol Proseco) and they actually does taste like real Proseco! 🥂 x

bluemoon2468 · 24/01/2020 17:40

@Mrssendy thanks so much. I feel like I want a drink to celebrate now 🙈

Mrssendy · 24/01/2020 17:37

@bluemoon2468 ah! Thank you for this. Might try next cycle if AF decide o come next week. Hope you will have a happy and healthy pregnancy! How exciting! X

bluemoon2468 · 24/01/2020 17:33

@Mrssendy we started DTD immediately after AF (CD6) and did it every second day until I knew I'd ovulated (from temps and OPKs) - so DTD CD6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18, then haven't done it again since (now on CD24). Didn't stick to SMEP to the letter because DTD every day hasn't worked for us in the past, and I've read a lot about how every other day is better for sperm count to build up.

Mrssendy · 24/01/2020 17:28

@bluemoon2468 WHOAAA! Congratulations!!!! Do you mind me asking how did you do it? Haha! Sorry but it just seem like it doesn't work for me and DH Blushx

Mrssendy · 24/01/2020 17:27

Hello everyone. How are you all doing? I'm 8DPO (have sore breasts but that's it. Tummy feel so empty) but don't have any good hope. I think it'll just be another AF cycle. Sigh. This is cycle 13 and I feel like it won't happen ever Sad feeling so low today. And my bestfriend just had their 12weeks scan and I can't help but feel a little bit jealous. Pregnancy annoucements when you're TTC is very hard to deal with for me.

Anyway! @danielasummer I'm always impressed by how you remember everyone! This is why I like your thread so much! Sorry to hear this cycle you got AF :( are you AF still irregular now? I really do hope we will all have our happy ending at some point! FX!!

I've been looking at that book too! Although I kind of want to not not trying starting next cycle. We triend SMEP to the T for the last 2 cycles but it hasn't seem to help us so don't know what we did wrong. And I'm so tired that I don't want to try that hard again.

Anyway! I wish we will have our BFP soon!!!!! Xxx

First month of SMEP, 8DPO!!

@Shazzzzz I don't actually know as I was on the pill since I was 16, 28 now. I came off it early Dec and had a withdrawal bleed starting 9th December so I'm basing it off that! Have never actually paid attention to my cycle before so I am very much at the beginning! I just want either a BFP or AF so I know things are working ok! Baby dust to you too, let's hope we all get our BFP soon! X

JoesM12 · 24/01/2020 15:08

Hey @danielasummer sorry to hear af showed up 🙁 it’s nice to hear youre positive for next cycle. I think you’re doing right filling your time with good things to look forward to! Feb could well be your month honey ❤️

I’m currently 9dpo. Af is due Wednesday but I’ll probably test on Sunday. I’m not hopeful as my husband was Ill during my fertile week so we only bd’d in the morning before work the day before ov and 2 days before that. We didn’t manage to do smep, it’s hard work 😂
I’ve had the flu the past 3 days so everything is just not working in our favour this month.

I also have good and bad days with it!
My husbands cousin got married 5 months before us last year and they’re due their baby the month of their first anniversary. If I was to be pregnant this month we would be due around our anniversary too, if I’m not I think it will really sting this month because I’ll be extremely jealous of them 😂 does that make me sound crazy? 🙈
Luckily, my husband agrees with my madness and has said he’s already thought about that so it’s not just me 😂

We have decided to try take a more relaxed approach next month, I’m not going to tell my husband when I get a positive opk and just try go with the flow. we have a pretty busy February so I’m hoping that will distract me from the madness that is ttc!

Hope the rest of you lovely ladies are getting on okay xx

Shazzzzz · 24/01/2020 12:33

@Pixielou16 CD47! Sorry about your whacky period, have they always been the same? ☹️ Mine range from 30-35 days and i thought that was a pain!

As they say youre not out till AF arrives so my fingers are crossed for you 🤞x

Pixielou16 · 24/01/2020 11:05

Hi @danielasummer, I'm CD 47(!), Puts me at 10 DPO according to the app but my cycle is all out of whack. Tested this morning- BFN. Still trying to hold out hope but symptom spotting everything and it's driving me crazy! Itchy nipples and terrible bloating and constipation for the last week. Sometimes feeling hunger pangs/nausea for a short time at various times of the day but mainly when I wake up or or mid afternoon, so could just be hungry!

Shazzzzz · 24/01/2020 10:49

Hey @danielasummer CD11 for me, i feel so relaxed i haven't thought about it as much as my last cycle. I dont think stress helps so im not tracking ovulation, im not going to symptom spot and i wont be testing until a definite mossed period. I am planning on doing a lot of BD though.

I hope youre okay. Just take the positives from the negatives and know it will happen at the right time ☺️🌟

My positive is I've been able to lose another half a stone xx

danielasummer · 24/01/2020 09:49

Hi everyone, just checking in. Where are you all in your cycles?

Feeling pretty hopeful and positive for the year ahead. AF is currently here (CD5). I've just ordered the book 'It starts with the egg' so will get to work on that and try to implement some of the advice given. It has some good reviews on Amazon so I'll let you know how I get on.

We're always talking about our bodies and what's going on, cervix checks, CM checks, ovulation ambiguity, pregnancy test uncertainty.. but how are we all feeling emotionally? I have good days and bad days. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a sad song music video and my heart is crying 'why meeee, when's it going to be my turn?!' but this morning I've woken up with hope, a day full of nice activities (and a bit of work), a lovely weekend planned. I've found that trying to fill my time has helped it go a little quicker and made me start to enjoy life and not think about TTC constantly (although I'm always itching to get on MN!!)

Hope you're all ok. Happy Friday x

@danielasummer thank you 😊 I'll try and wait until the weekend at least!

danielasummer · 21/01/2020 07:57

@bluemoon2468 no problem, so I would say then that you O'd between CD14 or CD16. I'm personally an advocate for waiting until AF is due to test but if you couldn't wait, I'd try to make it to at least 10DPO. Let us know how you get on! Crossing my fingers for you x

@danielasummer interesting theory! Thanks so much for taking time to look over it! You might be right... I really hope so! I did get positive OPKs on CD14 and 15
and potentially 13 (very strong line but just about negative). Temps are back up to 36.6 today. Do you think it's worth me testing tomorrow or should I just wait?

danielasummer · 21/01/2020 07:46

@bluemoon2468 hi lovely, I had a look over this last night and this morning. My only guess would be that NC have placed your coverline too high and you actually o'd on CD14. If you look at the temps after that, they are elevated. That would make you 6DPO on this chart, which is in timing for an implantation dip. What's your temp like this morning? x
