Hi everyone, just making this thread as it seems a few of us will be trying SMEP to TTC! Adding these lovely ladies in from another thread but I hope everyone feels free to join! All welcome :)

@Devgirl31 @fayy123 @NCON @MrsKJW19

Some stats about me:

TTC #1
27 years old, DH is 28 years old
Missed miscarriage in October 2019 at 7+2 weeks
Still in that cycle (no AF yet)
Long and irregular cycles, some anovulatory
Suspected low progesterone/hypothyroidism (I think this based on symptoms, not diagnosed yet!)

Hope we can all provide support for each other in this crazy TTC journey.

Feel free to introduce yourselves :)

sorry to hear @bluemoon2468.. All the best for this month.

@Lucy5546: Thanks for that confirmation Lucy :) Fingers crossed. I will wait until 10 or 11DPO before I test.

Shazzzzz · 05/02/2020 13:19

@Mummy2wannabe2020 i think this happened to me last month, i had 3 very faint positives on 3 different days 🙈 i am waiting until it's a definite missed period this month! X

bluemoon2468 · 05/02/2020 13:11

@Mummy2wannabe2020 so sorry to hear that 😔 best of luck for this month!

Mummy2wannabe2020 · 05/02/2020 12:12

@bluemoon2468 I think i may have had a chemical pregnancy had a slight positive line on first response then tried 2 days later and it was negative and have started bleeding unfortunately back to drawing board x

bluemoon2468 · 05/02/2020 12:02

@Mummy2wannabe2020 did you test in the end? 🤞🏻

Lucy5546 · 05/02/2020 11:43

*luck

Lucy5546 · 05/02/2020 11:43

@piscesFeb i was also successfull on 1st month doin SMEP back in December. Best of look to you

piscesFeb · 03/02/2020 21:57

Thank you so much for your advise. I am going to order them now. Fingers crossed 🤞

bluemoon2468 · 03/02/2020 19:04

@piscesFeb I got a strong positive on a FRER at 8DPO, but I think I'm a big anomaly (I must have implanted really early) so don't take that as your answer! I would recommend FRER not CB. Results are much less clear to read and less accurate.

piscesFeb · 03/02/2020 18:55

Thanks and congratulations @bluemoon2468 : Can you please let me know when did you test on SMEP? Wondering If I can test early using Clearblue early.

bluemoon2468 · 03/02/2020 16:11

@piscesFeb I was successful last month on my first cycle of trying SMEP 😊 good luck!

piscesFeb · 03/02/2020 15:57

First cycle of SMEP complete. Doing my wait time. The wait is so frustrating. Please suggest when to test and trying to see if anybody on this forum were successful on very first cycle.

Pixielou16 · 02/02/2020 15:43

@danielasummer hi, no AF yet- CD 56! Sick of waiting now. I've done loads of research about diet and trying to eat really well. Ill give it a read, thanks for the recommendation! I read good things about tumeric and magnesium. My chart is all over the place so that's no help!

Mummy2wannabe2020 · 02/02/2020 09:58

@bluemoon2468 guess I'm just nervous about taking one and it being negative

bluemoon2468 · 02/02/2020 09:42

@Mummy2wannabe2020 it's up to you, but if that was infact implantation bleeding 5 days ago then you would almost certainly get a positive now. It should only take 2-3 days after implantation for a positive result, especially on a FRER.

Mummy2wannabe2020 · 02/02/2020 08:55

@bluemoon2468 yea i was maybe going to leave till end of week and get other test as was wondering if I had ovulated late whence the spotting 2 days before I was due x

bluemoon2468 · 02/02/2020 08:51

@Mummy2wannabe2020 have you considered taking a FRER? If you're 3 days late and you are pregnant then it would tell you for sure. At least then you'd have your answer either way?

Mummy2wannabe2020 · 02/02/2020 08:47

Hiya all I'm new to all this but so many woman seem to be in similar situations I figured would be good to talk. I have been trying for our second since Novemebr so not long. I had spotting 2 days before my period was due and this has now stopped. I am 3 days late and I have been using cheap test I bought online but all have said negative so far. I was thinking may have ovulated late due to spotting so close to period? Any advice would be much appreciated x

biscuit13 · 01/02/2020 21:41

@danielasummer thankyou, so my cycles vary between 30 and 37 days... that seems like so much compared to what we would normally do, once maybe twice a week... haha!
so im using the clear blue ovulation digital ones too, was thinking about dtd every other day from when I get a flashing smiley until a couple of days after my peak? gotta be realistic haha! im hoping that will give us more of a chance. im going to use preseed too this time.

Raizelrea · 01/02/2020 21:06

Hi ladies, hoping to join in as we're planning to give SMEP a go this cycle. We have been TTC since we got married last summer but so far no luck. I've heard great things about SMEP and you all seem like a lovely supportive group!

Currently only on CD2 after a strange cycle that was all over the place (period came exactly on the day expected but was preceeded with almost a week of spotting) so happy to have a fresh start. Wishing you all a lucky cycle!

danielasummer · 01/02/2020 13:57

@biscuit13 hi, of course not, the more the merrier! (Although we don't want you here for too long as we want you to get your BFP!! :D ) so if you had a regular 28 day cycle, you begin DTD every other day from CD8 until you get a positive on an OPK, then you do it every day for 3 days, miss a day and BD once more I believe. I personally have an irregular cycle ranging from 35-50 days so l would ideally BD every other day from around CD14. Last cycle I got a bit excited and we BD most days of my cycle (didn't work, I'm not pregnant). This cycle will BD every other day from CD14, doing CB digital ovulation tests then every day from when I get a positive until I get 3 confirmed temp rises. Hope this helps x

Hi everyone, I really hope you don't mind me jumping on here, I just have a question and thought you ladies would know...if you did SMEP successfully, when in your cycle did you start dtd? and then when did you do it until?

danielasummer · 01/02/2020 12:23

@Shazzzzz doing it nearly every day is great. Definitely covering all bases then! Wishing you luck. Keep us updated x

@HE88 hi, how was your scan (if you've had it)?

@Pixielou16 Has AF come yet? I'm reading 'It starts with the egg' and she has some good supplement recommendations based on scientific research. It's a good read! I've also looked into acupuncture but was told by the lady that I'd need to wait 3 cycles to TTC when I start acupuncture..that scared me so I didn't reply! I can't wait! Glad cutting caffeine has been ok. So I'm just cutting out refined carbs and sugar (as recommended in the book) so no pasta, bread etc, no cakes, it's actually going ok. Just reaching for fresh and dried fruit and nuts now. Also eating organic fruit, veg, meat, dairy and eggs (but I have been since November anyway) all in the hope of creating the perfect egg! I'm also taking 400mg folic acid and 1000iu vitamin D a day. What about you? Which CD are you on? x

Shazzzzz · 31/01/2020 09:30

@Pixielou16 no we have always done it regular anyway and we have been together 5 years. Its hardly planned to be honest it just happens🙈 x

Pixielou16 · 30/01/2020 22:03

@danielasummer hey hun, no, no AF yet- though she'd be very welcome! I've been reading a bit about trying to regulate your cycle so I'm going to try and eat better and maybe look into the supplements more, see if there's a benefit to magnesium or evening primrose oil. Has anyone tried acupuncture at all? Heard good things about that but not sure as I've never had it before! Cutting out caffeine hasn't been too bad actually. I have one proper cup in the morning and decaf the rest of the time, hoping to try and cut out the caffeinated one soon! How are you getting on? Have you tried anything weird and wonderful in the name of fertility? Grin

@Shazzzzz I like the sound of a more relaxed approach. Not sure I could keep up with every day though! Does it kill the mood at all, doing it so often?

@HE88 hope you are ok! X
