Coming off the pill

Hello!

I’m looking to see how long after coming off the pill you fell pregnant, as well as how long it took your periods to get into a ‘normal’ routine?

@itstimes1
Hello

I came off the pill in March 2019 been on it for 8 years .. it took 3 months to get my period after their they have been irregular I been testing ovulation too and like u I ran out of test strips after 3 months 🙈
I went to the doctor and going through tests atm
Hormone tests are fine ultra sound tests are fine S they were testing for PCOS
they have predicted me Provera for 3 months to hopefully remind my body how to function properly

I really wish the doctor told me how long it would take for my body to adjust as I'm TTc and still not successful

WINGING19 · 30/12/2019 12:36

AF appears to have arrived CD 61 🤷

WINGING19 · 18/12/2019 13:14

I've given up worrying or thinking. It's odd that I seemed to have a normal first cycle but then a 1 day AF. My body will sort itself out eventually.... I hope....

LouLou0406 · 18/12/2019 10:30

Hi, I came off Yasmin 23rd October and had a withdraw bleed for around 5 days. I then had AF 25th Nov and I'm now 9dpo. AF due Christmas Eve so fingers crossed! It's my first cycle though so who knows what may happen.

mimmi91 · 18/12/2019 08:33

If it helps anyone, after I stopped taking the Rigevidon pill , I think I ovulated approx CD39 days after the first day of my withdrawal bleed (according to CM). Then got my first post-pill period on CD50. But that one was not a real AF, as it was super light and brown in colour. Lasted for approx 4 days. I then ovulated again (according to BBT and CM) CD25 days later, and then my first real AF came 13 days later (total cycle length was therefore 37 days).
Am hoping my next cycle gets shorter, as I want to ovulate soon for my first TTC cycle :)

Mycrazylife85 · 18/12/2019 07:43

@WINGING19 I know... now it's just comical 😏 I felt the same as you though at your stage. It's a drag

WINGING19 · 17/12/2019 14:12

@Mycrazylife85 oh hell 😂 I'm on 48!

Mycrazylife85 · 17/12/2019 14:05

@WINGING19 CD83 here.... 😂

Bfree3 · 16/12/2019 19:36

I came off Microgynon in October. Cycle has seemed pretty okay (silly me assumed what everyone is calling a withdrawal bleed my period lol) that came on 3 days later and then next period came 29 days but my periods were never crazy to begin with. I recently started using opks because I'm a planner and wanted a better understanding of what was going on with my body.. I've been taking birth control for the past 13 years... I had no clue what ovulation, cervical mucus and definitely not what opks were or even meant.. I thought ttc would be a breeze... babydance, sexy time, legs in the air but clearly you need some sort of special training to make a baby Sad

WINGING19 · 16/12/2019 19:29

Still nothing.....

Unicornsparklez · 16/12/2019 19:22

I came off Microgynon back in May after using it around 2 ears but using the pill of various types for 15 years. If I’d have known how long it takes to regulate yourself after Microgynon I’d have come off it sooner!! My cycles have been so irregular. First bleed was 28 days. Since then I’ve had a 29, 37, 39, 34 and 31 CD. I need to invest in ovulation kit because I have no clue when I’m ovulating except the rough guide on Flo app. Came off Microgynon because my periods had become non existent and as I was about to turn 30 and had used the pill for so long I was worried something was wrong. Since then we’ve decided to actively TTC. I’ve since read Microgynon can have these affect on your body.. we spend years taking the pill to make sure we don’t get pregnant and then come off it and realise it’s not as easy to fall pregnant as you might think. I’m currently on cycle 6. CD 25 and light bleeding since yesterday. Not usual to have bleeding so early so we shall see. AF due 24.12!!

bwSB · 16/12/2019 19:03

I came off rigevidon last July & by the end of October I was 7 weeks pregnant - therefore I must of conceived in September. Unfortunately this ended in an ectopic pregnancy. We have just started TTC & on our 2nd cycle so hopefully fall as soon as last time. Good luck on your journey!

zeeeex · 16/12/2019 18:29

I've still not had any sign of AF, nothing since my withdrawal bleed ended around 23rd Oct...

Stef92 · 13/12/2019 12:43

I came off Rigevidon at the end of May (we got married earlier in the month). First TTC and my cycles have been all over the place. I used to be 28 days on the dot but the lengths of my cycles have been odd. In the last 3 months I've had 30 days, 27 days and 24 days so I have no idea when the earliest I can test this month is! I got a static smiley on clearblue ovulation test on the 6th and we think we've covered the dates but who knows? I'm getting a bit crampy this week and have felt nauseous all week. X

mimmi91 · 13/12/2019 12:32

What I really wish is for more people to speak up that they've actually gotten pregnant while having these weird brown / inexistant periods! It would reassure me a lot, considering I think I am actually ovulating.
Do you all still notice ovulations despite no periods? Or nothing whatsoever?

Itstime1 · 13/12/2019 11:37

I think I had AF last week, thankfully it went back to ‘normal’ routine of 3 days like before I was on the pill/Depo shot so it finished Sunday/Monday. Now I’m testing with clear blue OPK every day to get a base line of what’s going on..... It’s expensive and slightly OTT but for us as a couple we would rather have an idea of what’s going on. If it’s still slightly messed up in the new year we will book for a private fertility scan/check up to see what’s going on with my body Hmm

Unfortunately it’s all just a waiting game and like so many others, I’m just impatient Blush

Kyoyo · 13/12/2019 11:18

Hello thanks for all your comments! I had a withdrawal bleed 4 days after coming off the pill and then two weeks ago have a normal period. So fingers crossed we get a positive soon!

donut8 · 13/12/2019 11:12

I came off my pill in February and it took about 6/7 months for my periods to become regular.

Mycrazylife85 · 13/12/2019 10:54

@mimmi91 my AF has still not arrived, I'm currently CD79. I had a doctors appointment the other week and have a blood slip for when my period does arrive to go in and have bloods done. Yesterday I had a transvaginal and abdominal ultrasound and they did note I have a number of follicles and a cyst. I'm pleased really as I had my first scan and PCOS diagnosis at 16 then my last scan in 2016 showed good ovaries so I've had to do it all again. It's been quick. If my period hasn't arrived in a month I'll go back to the doctors. They've then said my husband will need to provide a sperm sample and then it may be Chlomid for me if his sample is good. I've just started temping too (which is interesting). I'm more relaxed now about it all. Good luck all

WINGING19 · 13/12/2019 10:31

Still nothing for me, another negative test test. Now on cd 44.

mimmi91 · 13/12/2019 09:53

Hi all, I'm joining this thread as I've got similar issues! Am wondering if anyone's AF has arrived since you all last posted earlier this month? :)
I went off my pill (Rigevidon, after 7 years) on 15/09, had first probable ovulation at the end of October, and then a "brown period" (ie 4 days of brown spotting) mid-November. Thought my real period would follow, but no... Pregnancy test was negative.
Due to my BBT & CM tracking, I think I ovulated again on the 02/12, so a period should technically be due any day now... Can't help but feel extremely anxious every morning checking my temp to see if it dips (as a telltale sign that period is coming)...
Can't help but hope that ovulation is enough to get pregnant before a real red flow comes along...

WINGING19 · 03/12/2019 07:12

Tested this morning as still nothing, negative, the limbo continues!

Sunshine2988 · 02/12/2019 22:31

I was on Loestrin for 9 years, and like @wholemeal121 I came off the pill just over 1 year ago and I have only just had my first ovulatory cycle (bought an OvuSense to track bbt).
Everybody is so different though like it’s been said there’s no way of knowing! It’s so frustrating though I wish I had come off the pill sooner!

Charl1009 · 02/12/2019 22:24

I was on microgynon until spring this year took me just over 6 weeks to have my first AF/break through. I’m now on cycle 4 with 40 day cycles every month!

zeeeex · 02/12/2019 21:56

I still have no sign of AF! Withdrawal bleed finished about 20th October. Think I might test tomorrow as still getting some symptoms. Put my mind at rest if anything. How about you guys? X
