Quite upset as the smileys don't have their Santa hats on yet.

AF arrived 2 days ago so I will probably be testing around 21st December (cycles are about 24 days)

Anyone else???

Hi @LizzieLottie88 temp rise is definitely a good thing, fingers crossed it stays high for you.

I have temped this month and mine is currently looking like this - I am 6DPO.
Cannot wait for Monday to come around, fingers crossed it stays high!!

Anyone testing just before Christmas?
debbs77 · 20/12/2019 09:25

Got my period yesterday. Pretty disappointed as we did as much as we could!

A friend recommended both me and my partner taking zinc. We are both early 40s and I've always fallen pregnant easily. But it took him and his ex wife a very long time to conceive their daughter. So he may have low sperm count. We were pregnant earlier this year which ended in miscarriage so he definitely does have swimmers! So we will try to make them better quality

LizzieLottie88 · 20/12/2019 08:44

Oh it just did tag you! Lol

LizzieLottie88 · 20/12/2019 08:19

@IslayBrigid it still won't let me tag you for some reason, sorry :(
Thanks so much for your reply tho and your chart, very interesting. I wasn't organised enough to do it properly with a chart but start few days before I expected to ovulate, think mine only dipped like 0.1 or 0.2 degrees at ovulation, always been fairly high for me 36.8 seems to be my norm. But I have felt hot in bed last couple days since my temp went up to 37. Yes I've had the sore glands since about 4dpo too! But no cold or anything has come of it and been nearly a week now 🤔 am excited but I'm not normally a lucky person, seems unlikely to get lucky first cycle off pill ttc. I'll keep you posted!

Spark27 · 20/12/2019 08:14

Morning. I'm feeling terrible today- so full of cold and blurgh. And my knees really ache too, which is usually a sign of af coming for me. Currently away in a hotel, but I think when I get home later I might do a test. Not expecting a BFP but wanting to know if I can take any cold medicine.

IslayBrigid · 20/12/2019 08:11

Sorry here is the chart.

Anyone testing just before Christmas?
IslayBrigid · 20/12/2019 08:10

@lizzielottie88, higher temps and swollen glands could definitely be a sign as apparently the immune system lowers to accept the embryo! I had this although it went into a FULL blown cold / flu, had to take 3 days off work. I did have swollen glands too. It started around 4dpo lasted till 9dpo for a bfp 10dpo. I will attach my temp chart - I think everyone is a bit different though. I am still measuring as I use natural cycles so it'll track development of baby and they advise to keep temping. But can appreciate the worry if it drops haha hopefully it won't send me over the edge. I actually didn't record some of the higher temps when I was really ill, they got to like 36.8 and 9 which is super high for me. Natural cycles says not to record if you're ill. But yes you can still see it went way up, now it's come down to my "normal" post ovulation temp, which is still higher.

Also I only got EWCM day I ovulated this month. A lot of months I get it day before but not much earlier. Everyone is different. I know I ovulated that day this month due to the temps. I also got positive LH on Saturday, negative Sunday, ovulation Monday. Everyone's LH surges are different they can last a couple hours or a couple days. Then you'll likely ovulate 12-48 hours after.

Exciting, I hope it's a positive for you! Xxx

LizzieLottie88 · 20/12/2019 07:57

@Peanutty86 haha don't worry I will :) as soon as I see that clear line but I'm still not convinced it's my month's. Trying to resist testing today. Already missed fmu so telling myself it's a waste of a test. There were some of you that got bfp at 9dpo tho weren't there? Did you use fmu? Also, I've realised that the date I think I ovulated might actually have been later still as I was going off the ewcm. But I now read that means you'll ovulate within 1-2 days of that. Looks like it might be a sober Christmas for me either way 🙄

Peanutty86 · 20/12/2019 07:19

@LizzieLottie88 yes temp going up is a great sign. Oh I wish I had temped again.... I love the science behind it and how you can pin point things. I can't wait for you to test!! If you do get a positive, please do me a favour and stop temping. The tiniest drop had me panic until the next morning when it was up again. I'm talking like 0.1, not like a big one below coverline 🤦🏻‍♀️

Peanutty86 · 20/12/2019 07:15

@Lexie365 did you continue to take more OPKs after your positive? I used to get two days of positive OPKs and then a temp spike a day later. As ovulation can take loooong to actually occur after the positive OPK, that sounds very normal.

LizzieLottie88 · 20/12/2019 06:45

My temps gone up to 37 last 2 days, was quite high before 36.8 or 9. Anyone know is that's a sign of af or pregnancy?! 9dpo today. I'm not ill at all but glands are very sore 🤔

Lexie365 · 19/12/2019 22:49

congrats to everyone who got their bfp'sSmile ok so im starting to think i didn't actually ovulate until a few days ago. i thought af was due 23rd because thats when it came on last month but that was because they were 3 weeks late due to stress i guess. so af due any time between 23rd/31st so ovulation could have happend anytime between 8th/16th. and considering i had sharp ovary pain on the 16th/17th i think it was then...ugh so there is a good chance im bearly into my 2 week wait. been cramping all day though like i usually feel few days before af due?

Jh2019 · 19/12/2019 21:32

Wow, came back to this thread after a while off and so amazing to see all these BFPs - huge congratulations @TunnocksTcake @Peanutty86 @Mystie and @IslayBrigid ! So happy for all of you Grin

I think I'm currently 6DPO, AF due on Christmas day so trying to hold off testing until the day itself! It's the first time I've tried temping and had a bit of a weird pattern...temp didn't rise until 4 days after my positive CB digital OPK, though it has stayed consistently high since so hoping that still means I ovulated? I've never really found EWCM either, so just rely on the OPKs...

@ceebee21 sounds like we're at a pretty similar stage, I also have quite a short luteal phase (10-11 days) and due on Christmas day. Fingers crossed for both of us!

Jessmary94 · 19/12/2019 21:09

Hey! Haven't checked in for a while, been so busy getting ready for Christmas!

Massive congrats to everyone that got their BFP's I'm so happy for you all!

I tested yesterday morning which I think was 10dpo and got bfn BB it going to test again tomorrow and if any different but I'm not hopeful as I haven't had any symptoms at all 😔

IslayBrigid · 19/12/2019 17:17

@flamingog88 thank you :)

Keep us posted and good luck! xx

FlamingoG88 · 19/12/2019 17:02

@IslayBrigid oh wow, congratulations! Just before Christmas too Smile

I peed on the stick, or tried to Blush so if AF hasn't shown up in a couple of days I'll be trying by dipping in a cup instead! POAS seemed pretty difficult tbh but I did use FMU.

IslayBrigid · 19/12/2019 16:40

@FlamingoG88 Hmm interesting. Yes could just be a weirdly long cycle that's definitely a possibility. It's my first cycle TTC and I got a faint but visible BFP this morning so it can happen :) Esp if you have been a few months off birth control.

Did you pee on the stick or dip it in a cup? I think dipping in a cup is more effective. Did you use first morning urine? Also sometimes the line is super faint and you have to squint.

Maybe try again tomorrow / Saturday with first morning urine and perhaps by tomorrow it'll be more concentrated.

FlamingoG88 · 19/12/2019 16:16

@islayBrigid

Maybe? I think I've convinced myself it's just my body playing a cruel trick as I honestly don't think I'll be so lucky to have fallen in the first cycle! Having said that, my last period started the day before my wedding and all my friends told me that I'd be so stressed it wouldn't turn up when it was due, but it did, bang on time.

I don't seem to have any symptons but I don't really suffer with my periods either apart from some light cramping on the first day.

I'm trying to tell myself I should wait until Monday to test again (if AF doesn't arrive) but I am a very impatient person so that might be easier said than done Grin

IslayBrigid · 19/12/2019 15:07

@LizzieLottie88 sounds like you could test Sunday if you got a faint bfp with your son! As long as you reassure yourself that if it's negative it might be false and then you could try again a couple days later. Definitely wait til Sunday at least. The longer we hold out the more likely I'll be positive and be a true result!

Thanks @ceebee21 is very surreal 🙃 sounds like a good idea to test again when AF due if your temp hasn't dropped! Fingers crossed for you!

@flamingog88 sounds like the test might not be picking it up. You might be in the 1% that it doesn't work for! Esp if you often aren't late. Maybe try another brand or test again tomorrow... If implantation was late for you it might not yet he concentrated enough! Do you have any other symptoms? X

FlamingoG88 · 19/12/2019 14:43

I'm wondering if any of you ladies can give me some advice!

Came off the pill back in June and have tracked my cycles ever since, with what seems to be a 26 day cycle (always starting my period the day the app predicts).

Started TTC after the end of my last period (end of Nov) and am now currently on CD29 with no sign of AF.

Did a FRER this morning (the first ever pregnancy test I've taken in my life!) and got a BFN.

Is it likely that AF is just not showing up because I'm thinking about it too much or is it worth testing again in the morning? New to all of this and trying not to drive myself crazy with it all!

LizzieLottie88 · 19/12/2019 11:37

@IslayBrigid thank you! Well frer coming tomoro. Well I think my first stage was longer as took 2 weeks after withdrawal bleed after finishing my pack of pills the weeks before for me to then ovulate - pretty sure due to cm (used this method when conceiving ds1) but never thought to see what it was like after I ovulate before so I dunno is clear is normal for me never mind a symptom of pregnancy or not 😂 so 2 weeks after the date I ovulated is boxing day so it's all a bit of a guess really. Only been back on the pill for about 8 months I think so hopefully it won't take too long! Anyway, 10 dpo (when I got my faint bfp with ds1, and that was with a cheapie and cb!) will be Sunday. So not sure whether to test Sunday or try to wait longer?! Decisions....
Congratulations to more bfp!! Such happy news in time for Christmas, must be a lovely feeling 😁 praying I'll be joining you, otherwise I'll be posting a picture of my bfb (big fat baileys)😂

Ziggystarduck · 19/12/2019 11:20

Hmm I just did a post but it seems its not here, sorry if it comes up twice!
@TunnocksTcake it must feel amazing to see those two lines, what a collection of BFP's!
@debbs77 I'm sorry, hope you're doing OK. 😘
I'm 6 or 7 dpo, honestly time is passing so slowly. I'm feeling crampy still, but I've got a strange sharp shooting pain from my perineum inwards. Anyone had this? It's probably just my temperamental bowels 🤷‍♂️

debbs77 · 19/12/2019 11:02

I'm due tomorrow, just did a FRER and negative. So disappointing.

ceebee21 · 19/12/2019 10:33

@IslayBrigid well I am temping, so if it drops below coverline, that is pretty much a certain BFN.... so if I am still above coverline the day before I will have to take one haha.

I have a short LP (well have done last two cycles), so imagine I will know on Xmas eve...

So pleased for you on the BFP - and your sister as well, amazing!!

There have been so many BFP's recently.

Bbutterfly · 19/12/2019 10:27

Thank you for the encouragement @IslayBrigid will just wait until Saturday to test if af doesn't make an appearance. So happy for you and your sis. What lovely news for Christmas! X
