End of Dec bus (hopefully a lucky bus)!!!!

Hey all I am here awhile so really hoping for a christmas surprise but not getting my hopes up. Busy couple of weeks ahead so no OPK's for me just DTD every second day from CD 8 - CD 20

@blondeandbroody welcome and Be strong and wait for AF due date xx A BFN and then AF is worse than just getting AF when it's due. Smile

Jumping on, can’t remember if I already have on a previous thread haha!

  • Cycle 1 after mini pill
  • Cycle day 15
  • I either ovulated yesterday or today, not sure.
  • DTD every 2-3 days since fertile window so 🤞🏻.
  • AF due 16th December!

I was on mini pill and had what I can only assume was AF last month so stopped taking the pill first day it started. Whether I can trust my cycle or not is unknown so this is more of a wing it and hope for the best cycle! If AF comes then at least I’ll know where I’m at or at least have a better idea for the next cycle. Not going down the OPK route as trying to keep it as laid back as possible.

When would you advise I test (I have some FRER) and yes you can assume I’m crazy so won’t wanna wait til late AF on 17th haha!

I’m thinking 11th or maybe 12th as I have my Christmas work party on 11th? And then wait to see if AF shows and test again then?

@ceebee21 I think I'm going to ditch the opk's this month too and try the SMEP method! I'm 100% not testing early this time - day before af and that's it.

I'm CD 6 today.

I am trying to temp, but must admit it is hard trying to do it at the same time every day... not going to bother with the IC OPK... I have a few CB digitals left, so may use that, although pretty sure I OV on CD15 anyway

Trying to not stress myself out this month xx

@Sophieb15 my bad I'm cd15 today 😅 but yes same to you! 🤞 For us! I caved and just ordered the "taking charge of your fertility" book. Hoping to learn great things from it, I do find the whole ordeal interesting. Frustrating, but interesting

@Ellsbells112 ya I'm pretty sure I ovulated yesterday too at the latest this morning due to pains we did cd 8,10,12 and 14 because OH is on nights this week we might only manage CD 16 which is tomorrow and then CD 20 but I'm not stressing about it nothing more we can do.
You are right on the right days so you are covered too. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Sophieb15 sounds like a sound plan actually. I was meant to follow SMEP this month but just didn't get to it. I got my solid smiley yesterday, dtd Saturday yesterday and will this evening and hope for the best.
I'm cd16 today! Very close and pretty sure I ovulated yesterday too. Xx

@Sunflower2019 Had a great weekend pretty sure I've ovulated yesterday at 5pm due to pains but to cover all bases we will still do every 2nd day up to CD 20 because I was only CD 14 yesterday and that's quite early for me. Only 12 days to go for you lets hope you get your early xmas present xx

@Tamalama I have found it way less stressful this month the waiting for the positive OPK was stressful itself and then making sure you DTD. xx

@Ellsbells112 Hi how are you? I'm great way more relaxed approach being month 11. I am CD 15 today I'm not doing OPK's and just DTD every second day from CD8 - CD 20. Just working off a 30 day Cycle then as that seems to be my longest. x

@Sophieb15 yes, I'm just going to dtd every other day or maybe every 3rd day during the beginning of fertile period and see what happens. Fingers crossed this is a lucky month for us both x

CD 14 for me TTC #3, no idea when af is due because they've been irregular for the last 3 month, had my copper coil taken out on the 20th November, last period was the 18th November and I'm currently drinking my body weight in water as I have a raging UTI 😩 Im using ovulation test strips for the first time but no sign of ovulation yet. We are just dtd often 😂 good luck everyone 🤗

@Sophieb15 Thank you for your support! AF due now round about 29th December. Downloaded an app to help my track my cycles, and it says I should be ovulating on the 14th. Partner works away and leaves on 13th though! Typical. Trying to just be in the moment though and not be too stressed.

@ceebee21 Thanks for explaining that! Will give it a go, have ordered some but might need to use it next month as partner is away on the day of ovulation (if all goes to plan)

Going to try OPKs for the first time this month to check I am ovulating when I think I am! Also getting DH to hide the FRERs so I can't test early Smile

@Tamalama I'm so sorry you had to join this bus x I'm doing similar to you this month I've ditched the OPKs and just DTD every second day from CD8-CD20 x let's hope it is less stressful and this is our month x

I've got a good feeling about this cycle 😊 this will be my second cycle. Gonna track my ovulation for first time with OPK and BBT! See if Ovia's predictions are right

@NCON my next af is due on the same day for December! We can be testing buddies as I've promised myself the same too! Haha

Af is still 3 days away this cycle but I tested today and bfn so think I'm out this month.

I'm 29, 30 in August, December will be out 3rd cycle trying for our 1st 🙂

I've found Mumsnet so helping in just having people to talk to going through the same thing!

Af got me yesterday so I'll be moving on to cycle 10.

Af due: Christmas Day!! 🤦‍♀️

I went to see my gp yesterday as my period last month was horrific, I had contractions for 4 hours as the lining was shedding so I'm on mega strong painkillers this month.
The doctor advised not to get so hung up on opk tests- they're not 100% reliable, makes sex stressful rather than fun and can add additional stress in general, which hinders successful conception.
She advised regular sex every 3 days and a bit more during suspected ovulation (I always feel when it's on its way) so this month I'm going to do this method.
She said that DH eating 3 Brazil nuts a day can also help sperm! Who knew?! 😂 x
