Has anyone TTC DTD before their first period after miscarriage?

Has anyone TTC DTD before their first period after miscarriage?

I miscarried 3 weeks ago and haven't had a period yet.. was told to wait to TTC after AF but I have loads of egg white cervical mucus today and just so tempted to DTD and see what happens! Any stories or advice anyone can share please??

Yes. I’ve had a miscarriage ten months before a baby and a miscarriage eleven months before a baby. All my miscarriages have been too late for medical management (my earliest miscarriage was at 16 weeks) so I’m not sure about that.

Thank you for your kind words x I'm doing a lot better than I was and I totally understand how you feel.

Yes I'm going to wait but my normal cycle is like clockwork so even though this cycle (if it is a cycle?) might be long I'm likely to not be waiting too long until my next period according to my doctor. Good luck!

@ChanklyBore hi, thanks for posting. You've done it twice as in you've BD before your period arrived? And you went on to have successful pregnancies? Sorry for all of the questions..I feel I'm on a timer as tonight would be the night for BD! I had medical management, I don't know if that makes difference?

@WannabeMathematician I'm so sorry for your loss too. It's awful isn't it - worst time of my life. Are you going to wait until your first period if you decide to try again? I hope you're doing ok. The days get a little brighter every day, although still a big hole in my heart x

The advice is to make dating the next pregnancy easier.

I’ve done it twice.

@TeuchterTraveller thank you so much for sharing. I'm glad you went on to have a healthy pregnancy. I don't ovulate many times a year so I'm wondering whether to go from it.. the early pregnancy unit told me to wait until AF as there's a higher chance of miscarriage but I'm desperate to be pregnant again!

I miscarried three weeks ago as well. I was advised by my GP to wait one period (rather that miscarriage bleeding) before starting to try again.

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted I'm so so sorry to hear that happened to you, that must have been awful. I've heard mixed experiences so I'm genuinely stuck and don't know what to do. I only ovulate maybe 5 times a year so I'm not sure whether to chance it or not. x

Yes I did. Got a row from the doctor for not waiting when I went to confirm subsequent (healthy) pregnancy - but received zero advice or information post miscarriage.

Yes and ended up with a ruptured ectopic and lost my tube as the miscarriage had caused an infection in one of my tubes and a build up of fluid......I wouldn't risk it x

@meroyah thanks so much for replying. Did she go on to have a successful full term pregnancy? I'm worried that the doctors have said not to but at the same time..... can't ignore the ewcm!

My friend had a miscarriage and immediately fell pregnant again afterwards. I think it is recommended to give a few cycles for your body to recover but whatever happens, happens!
