TTC after pregnancy loss - Thread 33- huddle up and bring on the BFP's

Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to get and give support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy and baby. Pregnancy and child loss is the most awful thing anyone can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

Evening ladies

I wanted to post on here today- I used to post on the earlier threads, I think the ones in the early 20s!

Today I realised that it was exactly 2 years since I got my BFP for DC2.
I remember crying with happiness and pure fear- and also the fact that Harry & Meghan getting engaged was breaking news on the BBC!

The BFP followed around 16 months of TTC after my 2nd pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage, discovered at the dating scan during summer 2016.

DC2 is now coming up to 16 months and I thank my lucky stars every day for both DC1 & DC2.

Following on from my MMC there were times when I honestly did not believe that I would ever become pregnant again or that any further pregnancy would successfully go to term.

I got so much amazing support & advice on here, it really kept me going through the dark times.

This day 2 years ago I was around 3 days late for my period but I had been temping for a good few months (after trying and giving up a few times) and I'd noticed that my temperature didn't dip as it usually did.
So I already had an inkling that something was going on!

I wanted to post on here to give others some hope that things can work out in the end and to keep going Flowers

I really do hope that this post is not taken the wrong way, and that it's clear my intention of why I wanted to write on here.

@Avocuddles You made me chuckle here 😂😂😂 Your DH better braces himself for tomorrow night!

@ReeRi ❤️ It's not the way things should be, but you will go through the Christmas period and you will find happy moments. As you say, one step at a time, and onwards and upwards in 2020 xxx

ReeRi · 27/11/2019 20:38

@MrsMGE TBH I’m not even thinking about that yet as I feel I have a lot to get through just to Christmas with my first Christmas without our daughter and TTC as well as just day to day work but hoping 2020 will be a good year 😊

Avocuddles · 27/11/2019 19:55

@MrsMGE still working away so if I had some 'fun' tonight it wouldn't be with my husband! 😂
Back home tomorrow evening so we'll see then......

MrsMGE · 27/11/2019 19:46

@ReeRi I know what you mean, it takes so long to prep everything for it! You nearly need 48 hr days at times to fit everything in with business development as well. But hey ho, I'm grateful to be where I am and I love my job. Wishing you the very best of luck with whatever you decide for next year 🍀 And tonight just relax, sounds like a long day? Xxx

@Avocuddles Heyyyy! I know, right, what a combo 😂 Do you reckon you should DTD for the next few days perhaps?? Maybe you've skipped your period, it is possible? I'd be having some fun tonight if I were you 😁

I had a 29 day cycle for the first time in forever, they've been over 30 days for ages. That's ok, but I'm slightly concerned about my LP which has gone down from 13 days last month to 10. But maybe it's a one-off? Who knows.

I'm not tracking or temping next month, just going to enjoy life for once, it's Christmas xxx

ReeRi · 27/11/2019 19:33

@MrsMGE I got promoted to associate and didn’t get a pay rise but got 5% separately a month later when it was pay reviews. I’ll probably think about PA next year but I feel a bit occupied as I came back from mat leave at the end of August and have been really busy since with client work and client relationship stuff.

Fingers crossed for you @Avocuddles It can be frustrating when you don’t know what your cycle is doing

I’m so tired. I’m just on my way from work but found it all hard work today!

Avocuddles · 27/11/2019 19:16

@MrsMGE yay to Nutella and getting smashed!!!!

I am so bloody confused with my body this month. CD42 and suddenly I've got plenty of EWCM (which I NEVER usually have) but only the palest line on a OPK. Feels like another bonkers anovulatory cycle, I just wish AF would hurry up and arrive so I can reset the clock!

MrsMGE · 27/11/2019 18:20

law not lae, silly phone, sorry @ReeRi*!

MrsMGE · 27/11/2019 18:19

@ReeRi Principal Associate? I've not heard this one before. Are you going for it at some point? Do you have that funny thing as well that you get the more senior title, but no automatic pay rise? I have to apply for mine separately, here's hoping! Only in lae, eh... Thank you for your kind wishes ❤️ xxx

ReeRi · 27/11/2019 18:06

@MrsMGE That makes sense. I am Assoc level and my firm have just introduced Principal Associate this year (before was just Sol, assoc and partner)... Good luck 🍀

MrsMGE · 27/11/2019 17:46

@ReeRi For a SA. I took a slight detour in-house before returning to private practice and climbing up the ladder in a different specialist area. I think I'll leave partnership for a few years longer till the current partners retire, which should be perfect timing, if everything goes well that is. For me partnership would also mean leading the practice area and working between several offices, and I am happy to focus on practising the law rather than moving to a managerial role in my mid-30s. I don't fancy nearly 40 years of management in law, if that makes sense? Hopefully I'll take time off soon to have my rainbow(s) too, which should work out well. Where are you now, are you thinking about partnership?

Thanks so much @Avocuddles @SunStruck! Big relief. I'm stuffing my face with Nutella on toast as my AF arrived this afternoon and I'm dying for some chocolate. I'm so delighted that AF didn't crush me this month, no flashbacks yet and I'm actually quite OK. This is my biggest win, bigger than any promotion tbh. You're right @SunStruck, MH is better now, but I don't want to say I turned the corner completely just yet.

AF also means I will be enjoying my Aldi Baileys over Christmas and I am going to get smashed with my workmate who also went for a promotion at our Christmas do, YAY 😂❤️!!! Little things in life! 😂

How is everyone doing??? Xxx

ReeRi · 27/11/2019 16:49

I don’t know whats going on today. I replied earlier!

Hope everyone is ok

Are you applying for partner @MrsMGE?

Avocuddles · 27/11/2019 14:19

@MrsMGE glad it went went and that it's given you a boost. Onwards and upwards for all of us!!!

SunStruck · 27/11/2019 13:32

@MrsMGE well done so proud of you!!! It sounds great! Love good client feedback too, it's the best part of the job 😄

Promotion, Christmas, New Year... life's good! 🥳

MrsMGE · 27/11/2019 11:54

Aaaaannnnddddd it's done! Phew! It went well. Awaiting approval from the board, but two of the partners from my interview panel have already popped in to tell me that it was very good, that my business plan was very comprehensive, "glowing client feedback" (😳) and that I have "nothing to worry about". So I'm taking this as a positive sign, albeit not opening bubbly till I receive the final approval!

It has given me a boost, primarily because it's nice to know that people around you see some potential in you and are there to support you in taking things forward. And of course at least some of my clients must genuinely like me, thank God for that 🤣

Thanks so much for your support, girls! I felt some real girl power this morning abd it's helped me to stay cool immensely, I had a tummy revolution this morning due to stress, but I've composed myself having read all your positive messages ❤️

I'm done now, feel like I need to go home and sleep 😂 xxxx

SunStruck · 27/11/2019 01:25

@MrsMGE GOOD LUCK for your interview today!!! I'll be thinking of you all day and sending lots of lucky thoughts 💭 🍀 Thanks as always for kind words and advice! I will also wait until next year closer to my 1 year mark I think, I don't want to ruin Xmas and NYE with obsessing over this! Our situation is so similar and it's feels so good to have you on the same journey for support (obviously not wishing this on you, just that we're in this unfortunate boat together!). I'm keeping my fingers crossed we both come out of this year with a new promotion 😃 you sound stronger now MH wise, am I right? I really hope I am ❤️

@LASandOtto Thanks for your words, I'm thinking of you too!! Exciting you get the next cycle monitored so you know exactly what's going on! And good that you've been busy with your friend, that is needed - Especially lots of wine 😃😃😃

@Avocuddles happy belated anniversary! I hope you two had a good one. Also thinking of you and @ReeRi often.

Obviously all the other ladies too, we're so many on this thread now! 😘

tmc14 · 26/11/2019 21:32

Trying to catch up but just a quick message:
@MrsMGE good luck for the interview tomorrow!

Sorry to see so many new joiners, but welcome and I hope you find the thread as useful as I do.

@ReeRi thank you, I’m actually doing ok with the pregnant friends. Trying to remember that I love them and want good things for them as well as for me.

I got a positive opk today, a few days earlier than I’d normally get... anyone else’s cycles shorter after miscarrying? Frustrating as DH has a stinking cold so definitely not up for it, which I totally get but the only chance this month will slip by.

I guess that at least means I can drink over Christmas and not worry 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hope everyone is doing ok, I’ve been reading the messages but find it hard to keep up xx

MrsMGE · 26/11/2019 19:38

@ReeRi @Avocuddles Enjoy a bit of McIntyre! I like him too, but I must say, no one beats Micky Flanagan in my opinion, you've probably seen multiple references to his shows sneaking in to some of my posts, I just love him xxx

MissSparkles81 · 26/11/2019 19:05

Thanks @Avocuddles ... it was a last min decision to go away. I think we both just need some time away from the house together before he goes back to work next week.

ReeRi · 26/11/2019 18:36

Thanks @Avocuddles I’m feeling ok actually, probably because I’m distracted with work! Also just booked our Christmas getaway so that’s good. Hope you are ok too.

Love Michael McIntyre, didn’t realise he was back on! Will look for that @MrsMGE

Avocuddles · 26/11/2019 17:48

@MrsMGE I didn't see Michael McIntyre but might watch it on catch up in my hotel tonight as sounds like the exact kind of thing I need to keep me cheerful when staying away from home!

It was our 2nd wedding anniversary, we've been together 5 1/2 years. Part of me wishes we'd met when we were younger (and that this was my first marriage), but then again every experience we've been through has made us the people we are today.

Good luck again for tomorrow, let us know how you get on!

@MissSparkles81 it took me three weeks after my 2nd miscarriage, I know what you mean about finding it strange / sad to be longing for a negative. Hopefully it won't take much longer. Enjoy your trip with your OH and glad you enjoyed your back massage, both sound very well timed.

@Winkat @danielasummer @ReeRi @LASandOtto @SunshineCrocodile @SunStruck (and everyone else - there are too many of us to list now!) - I hope you are all well. I think of all of you often.

MissSparkles81 · 26/11/2019 17:27

Thanks ladies.

I really enjoyed my back massage today and I ended up getting some reiki too. Never had that before but it was good and I have booked back in for next week on what should have been my 12 week scan Sad

@danielasummer I will do ... I just want that negative so I can try and plan on when to try again. I will def contact them if still positive in another 2 weeks. Flowers

Winkat · 26/11/2019 16:35

Hi ladies hope you're all doing OK. @MissSparkles81glad the counselling helped, it's so important to acknowledge your feelings and emotions and allow yourself to grieve.

@Avocuddles absolutely, positivity and looking ahead is so important!

I think the new year will psychologically really help. I feel like it's been a tough year all round, we've had a few big / expensive things go wrong with the house, then the miscarriage... BUT we also have plenty of things to be thankful for.

Hope you're all having a good week xx

MrsMGE · 26/11/2019 14:26

Also lovely to see so many positive messages about appreciating what we have here and now, it's so true and I hope this attitude will carry us forward. Bring on the happy and healthy 2020 and lots of positive news for all of us on here. I wish everyone well, but I particularly wish all the happiness to all of you, you deserve it more than anyone else ❤️🌈 xxx

MrsMGE · 26/11/2019 14:20

@Avocuddles Belated happy anniversary to you and DH ❤️ How many years have you been together? PS - I've looked up the Mamma Mia experience, oh my days, I'd love that! I'm thinking about doing it with one of my best friends. Also, did anyone watch Michael McIntyre last Saturday? I was dying watching "Abba-oke", there was a lady from Liverpool who was hysterical, if you have a chance to catch up on it, please do! 😂

Huuuuge thank you to all the ladies wishing me luck for tomorrow, I did read all the messages, but this thread moves so fast that I'm not tagging you all here in case I unintentionally miss someone!! I am calm, I am going for it, no stopping me now 😂💪

Hope everyone is doing ok/better today, I'm really sorry to see so many new faces on here xxx
