So that's all our testing now complete after the TV scan this afternoon, which seemed like a walk in the park after the HSG on Thursday.
Now just cracking back on with SMEP for the next few cycles until we get our 2nd consultant appointment to discuss our results and referral for IVF.
How's everyone's weekend been? I imagine most people have stayed indoors with this horrendous weather

whatsthecraic91 · 16/02/2020 18:04

@Kiza I think I'll take him then, he said he was scared of being a spare part so I'll tell him that thank you!!

@FarmerWantsABaby the other recommendation my GP made was the Mid Ulster Women's Health Clinic, it will be closer to you is Magherafelt I think!

FarmerWantsABaby · 16/02/2020 17:31

@whatsthecraic91 yea think I'll give my GP a buzz tomorrow! He's hard to get a hold off 😬 been looking online and there doesn't seem to be many private opportunities up my way. do no harm to ask tomorrow! I just feel so blind going into all this, there's very little information and support out there in regards to the "beginning" of your struggle to TTC if you get me?
I swear if one more person asks me about babies this day I will go off the rails! 😬🤯

Kiza · 16/02/2020 14:04

@whatsthecraic91 that's great you've got an appointment so quickly but it makes me sad that people are having to go private due to our overstretched NHS, but that's another topic!
I'd take DP with you, we both went to ours and the consultant asked him lots of questions about his physical health. He also had lots of questions too so was a good opportunity to ask everything!

1990shopefulftm · 16/02/2020 13:59

@whatsthecraic91 app says Thursday but last month was a Friday so I think it's wrong, in which case Friday evening I ll just be late . If you specifically ask them to do the HCG test then it could do, when I ve had blood for other things they can take at least a couple of days to come back so you could still do a test yourself.

whatsthecraic91 · 16/02/2020 13:52

@Kiza it's crazy! So much happier now I have my appointment in just under 2 weeks! It's an initial consultation should I bring my DP with me or is there not really much point?

@1990shopefulftm when is AF due? I am due Wednesday and I don't know if I should test in the morning or not! Ovia is saying I should! But it is always better to wait until she's late but it's so hard not to test early 😫

I'm having my repeat blood test in the morning, would it show up if I'm pregnant in it at 12DPO?

1990shopefulftm · 16/02/2020 11:43

decided to wait to Friday evening to test as i ll definitely be late then and if somehow I did have a BFP DH will be home and i can make him go get another test brand as I know i'd want to try another to be sure.

Rockthis · 15/02/2020 23:20

Hi, I'm going to be a new mom. I'm confused on when conception/ days that led to pregnancy happened. My due date is 07/16/20 based on ultrasound,I don't know my last menstrual period. Can any one help?

Kiza · 15/02/2020 21:22

@ToCaden good luck, do you have much planned to keep you occupied?

@whatsthecraic91 over a year?!?! Oh my god that's crazy long! It baffles me how we are all part of the nhs but receive such different treatment depending upon our postcodes.
@MIW01 that sound a bit complex with the results you've had, I'll be honest I know nothing about it. What have the doctors said? From what I've read hysterscopy procedures are quite smooth and thank goodness you'll be under GA for it! And then after that things will hopefully be on the up for you ☺️

Kiza · 15/02/2020 21:16

@Lushfanatic123 yes I often get O pains, I like fertility friend for tacking pretty much everything but I also use Femometer to take photos of my OPK's as I was reading them wrong before.

Lushfanatic123 · 15/02/2020 20:18

Hi all,

Can you get pains when you are ovulating?

Also what apps are best to use when TTC?

ToCaden · 15/02/2020 20:00

Hello guys. Back in the two week wait. Wishing everyone the best of luck for this cycle.

whatsthecraic91 · 14/02/2020 17:24

@FarmerWantsABaby you should definitely ring just to enquire to get an idea, if it's a long waiting list ask your GP to recommend someone private near you

FarmerWantsABaby · 14/02/2020 16:45

@whatsthecraic91 to be honest i haven't a clue what's going on yet because they haven't said much. I had blood tests done last month for everything and progesterone levels were very low. FBC also needs done again.
I'm in strabane and was asked if I had a preference of Altnagelvin, eniskillen or Belfast so I said Altnagelvin but I was told Belfast might be quicker for appointments. Other than that I have no idea what's happening or what for. I was just told to wait for a letter? I feel a bit up in the air 😥

whatsthecraic91 · 14/02/2020 16:33

@FarmerWantsABaby welcome!! My referral was for an internal scan, I nearly shit myself when she said that on the phone! That was for Antrim hospital clinic so maybe the Belfast one is quicker? I think it's all the strike action that has maybe made the waits longer! Just ring up and ask how long can do no harm. My GP then recommended the northern medical women's clinic in Ballymena so that's where I'm going on 26th, £150 to see him then £90 for the scan which I think is quite reasonable - Belfast fertility we're charging an arm and a leg! Are you just waiting on a initial consultation or tests?

FarmerWantsABaby · 14/02/2020 16:18

Hi ladies. Jumping on this bandwagon if you don't mind. Have been watching 👀 but never commented. Just noticed @whatsthecraic91 story, I'm currently waiting on a referral from the fertility clinic in Belfast as my progesterone blood levels showed that I may not be ovulating. My GP told me it wouldn't be a long wait but now I'm worrying. I might also start to consider going private too....

MIW01 · 14/02/2020 16:15

Oh sorry @whatsthecraic91 trying to do too many things!!! Well the polyp is preventing the conception from happening (we think) so we've just been business as usual, monitoring everything else, but hopefully once it's gone things will happen! I can't wait.

So according to Dr google I should be dead by now . . . Both in urine suggests diabetic ketoacidosis, thing is I've never been diagnosed with diabetes! I expect to have ketones though as I've been low carb for ages . . . Very odd!

whatsthecraic91 · 14/02/2020 15:00

@MIW01 I take it you meant to tag me 🤣 yes, 13 months!! Couldn't believe my ears!! My GP called me back and gave me the number of a private doctor nearby so I have an appointment with him on 26th Feb, then I will have my scan with him a week or 2 later depending on my cycle! So much happier now I have that to look forward too.

I'm sure you can't wait to get your op over you! Do you have to put TTC on hold until you've had it done? What does the glucose and ketones mean?

1990shopefulftm · 14/02/2020 13:22

@Kiza, no it says on the NHS website they can't read the results as well when pg.

MIW01 · 14/02/2020 11:33

@Kiza wtf?!? 13 months?!? Hpw on earth do they justify that wait! That's worse than my letter from NHS gynae to say they've received my referral but have no appointments!!!

whatsthecraic91 · 14/02/2020 11:25

@Kiza yes we are very happy with DPs results so I decided this morning to ring the clinic to see how long it would be for my tests, 12-13 months - I nearly cried down the phone to the lady!! My GP told me 8-12 weeks so obviously I am furious. Waiting on a call back from my GP to discuss. I have also emailed the fertility clinic in Belfast to see about going private. Could be one of the unexplained cases but I want to know sooner rather than later! Did you take the day off to recover? How long to ovulation?

Kiza · 14/02/2020 10:34

@MIW01 It's understandable to be a bit anxious, I think most people are fine with GA so hopefully all will go smoothly for you.
Is the GA for the hysterscopy or is that a separate procedure to the polyp?

@1990shopefulftm I didn't know that about the smear test as mine is due also. Was it your GP who said not to have it done?

@whatsthecraic91 thank goodness you finally got the SA results and they sound positive! It may be that all your tests come back fine also and it's one of those unexplained cases.

Had some pretty bad cramping last night after the hsg, painkillers took the edge off. A few minor cramps today so hoping by tomorrow I'll feel more back to normal and can start DTD as now into our fertile window.

MIW01 · 14/02/2020 09:45

Sorry to read about SA and temp charting woes @whatsthecraic91 glad it was all OK in the end!

@Kiza glad the dye bit was OK, hope everything goes well Sunday, let us know how you get on? I'm a bit anxious about GA but also really glad it's being done!

@Anny27 sorry to hear this cycle seems to be all over the place

My hysteroscopy is booked for 6th March! Was hoping for sooner as takes 1-2months for body to heal but at least it's booked!

I have glucose and ketones in my urine so having to have a blood test next week to find out what that's all about!!! One thing after another atm.

1990shopefulftm · 13/02/2020 19:46

@Lottiepink if i m not pg this month, i'll give temping a go for next cycle. you're right if i get too stressed with it then i ll stop.

1990shopefulftm · 13/02/2020 19:40

@whatsthecraic91 glad to hear they finally gave your dp his results. I hope you get answers soon.

I've had reminder letter for booking my first smear test, the actual test isn't scaring me much, it's that they suggest not having one when you're pregnant. So i don't know whether that means having one booked for right after AF so i ll i know i'm not pregnant but timing that and not needing to take time off work is tricky .
