Forgot to add, I have been so pissy today, I just feel rage, shooty pains in boobs and some cramps, so tired too, I can't wait to testing day 🤞🏼

whatsthecraic91 · 20/02/2020 18:56

@Lozzlepop I know condoms are a pain in the ass and make it rubbish too! I still eat red meat I didn't know this was a thing?

@Kiza oh god the clamps sound absolutely horrible 😓 good thing they aren't used anymore or I wouldn't be getting mine!!

@ToCaden when is AF due? How many DPO are you?

@rathernotshare we are a great group of ladies here and we all learn so much from each other and they are a brilliant support! It's lovely having someone to talk to going through the same journey!

FarmerWantsABaby · 20/02/2020 18:54

@whatsthecraic91 I rang mid Ulster women's clinic today, I didn't really understand what they were telling me, I grasped that they are not entirely a fertility clinic but they can do scans etc? So I'm no further forward. Might ring my GP practice and see if I can get talking to my GP about how long the waiting list is around here and would he recommend any private doctors.
AF came on Saturday and she's out for a vengeance this month 😓
Feeling so lost at the minute waiting on a fecking referral letter and not know how long it's going to take!!

rathernotshare · 20/02/2020 18:30

@MIW01 I do worry about how long it will take given how inconsistent I have been at taking contraception for 10+ years and managed to not have a single scare! Oh I hope that all goes well for you xx

MIW01 · 20/02/2020 18:17

@rathernotshare haha! Yes that's a common 1! Some say it's the way to go and others say no difference. Let's just say I wouldn't recommend sex standing up as a form of contraception! We have told some friends of family as I'm having a hysteroscopy (minor Op) to remove a polyp (benign tumour) in my womb.

rathernotshare · 20/02/2020 18:05

@MIW01 ah thank you! No I am still awaiting AF, never been so eager before Grin fingers crossed for all of you! Ah that's lovely, belated congratulations Thanks have you shared with your friends that you are trying? I wish we had anyone to ask tips other than the well known 'do a handstand afterwords' ... is that a genuine thing?!

MIW01 · 20/02/2020 18:00

Welcome @rathernotshare AF means Aunt Flow aka period, time of the month, menstrual cycle. Some of us have been TTC for a good long while and having our fair share of issues and experiences but between us all we're learning a lot! We're 34 been with my fiance 8 years - he proposed on Christmas day just gone. We're 1 of the last couples to start trying in our group of friends with several already woth number 2 on the way!

rathernotshare · 20/02/2020 17:37

@1990shopefulftm I'm finding it hard to keep quiet as everyone has been asking since the day we got married!! We went to Mexico for our honeymoon so I've told a white lie and said you can't try for a whole year due to zika to get them off our backs!! I do know people with kids but not enough to confide in them. Fingers crossed my period goes back to normal quickly. Due any day now so we'll see how these 11 years on it have affected me

@whatsthecraic91 what is an AF? Blush none of my close friends have any but I'm starting to see what I consider "new" couples my age popping them out and starting to feel (ashamedly) resentful. We've been together 8 years now, I feel like it's our turn! Grin

ToCaden · 20/02/2020 14:36

Greatly admire those of you holding off on testing. This two week wait is trying my willpower. Had some spotting accompanied by a strange stabbing pulling feeling in my right side which hasn't happened in any of the previous cycles, but trying not to read into it so I'm not too disappointed.

Kiza · 20/02/2020 14:08

@Anny27 that would make sense but it happened open Xmas too around o, plus a week before AF last cycle too? That's good willpower to not test and get DH to hide it also... just need the willpower to not buy a cheapie from a chemist 😄

@whatsthecraic91 yeah hopefully not long 🤞🏼
@Lozzlepop haha you make me laugh! Yeah the balloon is apparently a lot nicer than the old fashioned clamps they used to put on your cervix to prevent the dye flowing back out! Sounds medieval! Some women don't have cramps at all and tbf it I took paracetamol I wouldn't feel them but I'm one of those hippies that tries to not put chemicals inside me unless I'm desperate!

MIW01 · 20/02/2020 13:09

@Anny27 we're not using protection but tbh nothing has happened yet so not expecting it to now. Though I'm mid cycle and have had some spotting today!

MIW01 · 20/02/2020 13:00

Ah @Lozzlepop the meat thing is a bone of contention (excuse the pun) but that's where there's a lot of agreeing to disagree going on. I think good quality, sustainably sourced meat and fish is very important for a healthy balanced diet especially for hormone balancing as hormones are predominantly made out of fat and they provide the full protein spectrum.

1990shopefulftm · 20/02/2020 08:42

@whatsthecraic91 i've always seen crisps as not as bad as chocolate as they're technically from a vegetable.

Lozzlepop · 20/02/2020 08:31

Morning ladies,

Absolutely horrible day here again, will it ever stop raining?? Off to see the Lion King tonight so very excited for that 😀

@Lottiepink Its been fantastic lol! we are probably thinking April of next year so we are going to view our first lot of venues this weekend 😀I never actually had any issues being on the pill and didn't get periods so it was great.

@whatsthecraic91yes next spring is the ideal. Its not actually the waiting that is bothering me its the sex between now and then 😂getting absolutely nothing out of it with condoms and thats making DF feel bad so sort of a vicious circle and thats what made me think about going back on the pill but I guess you are right it could take longer to regulate my hormones in the future!

@MIW01 we have a fairly healthy diet, eat meat free at least 3 times a week and dont really eat red meat/ everything is cooked from scratch etc/ dont drink fizzy juice but biscuits are our downfall 😂

@rathernotshare welcome to the chat ☺️

@Kiza a balloon???? there was no mention of anyone blowing a balloon up inside me 😂jeezo its like the worst fairground ride ever! I dont have any valium so I guess i will need to wing it, dont like the sound of these after cramps though! Yeah we are currently taking no chances and using condoms everytime as we got caught out with early ovulation last time

@Anny27 its not so much the not trying- I know why DF doesn't want to try again incase something bad happens on the potential run up to the big day and I totally get it. We have the blood clotting test mid April and have to test positive twice, the tests are 6 - 12 weeks apart so I really dont see us getting any definitive answers before the end of July/ August.

whatsthecraic91 · 20/02/2020 07:35

@rathernotshare have you had your first AF yet since stopping the pill? I am 28 and DP is 35 and he has a 6 year old DS, only one of my close friends has a baby, all the rest of the ones from my year at school are Peter pans and have no notion of settling down 😂 so I have no one to talk to either really!

@Kiza yea I said to my GP about my spotting before AF and they weren't concerned either but I read everywhere it's low hormones so 🤷🏼‍♀️ hopefully not too long to you see your consultant again.

@1990shopefulftm I'm not too bad with chocolate I would definitely give it up if it was the choice between it and crisps - I love crisps 😂

@Anny27 giving DP the tests is defo the way forward, I would have definitely caved by now if I could get to them 😂 he will give me them on Saturday morning! Yea I don't know what the hell happened this cycle! I think it was a combination of being away and stressing a bit. 3rd morning in a row of sweating when I wake and my temp is way up this morning, and a tad crampy today so far so I am trying my best not to get my hopes up. I could be just getting sick I suppose but hopefully not 🤞🏼😁

Anny27 · 19/02/2020 22:51

Evening ladies! 2dpo today and have asked my DH to hide the one test I have in the house so that I wont be tempted to test. I have set an alarm on my phone for the 2and March when my AF will be late so i will test then providing AF doesnt show!

@whatsthecraic91 that must be so frustrating for you not knowing how many dpo you are. But yes good idea to test on the weekend when you would be either 17dpo or 9! You will know if you ovulated late that way

@Lottiepink yeah sometimes I get a day of positives and sometimes I dknt catch it atall haha! Sorry temps have dropped :(

@kiza yeah I reckon my surge must have been super quick this month! Mmmm I would say the spotting is probably because your cervix was aggravated. Whenever I get a smear I get brown spotting and then I have 0 spotting before AF starts. It's as if all the old blood has been cleaned out.

@lozzlepop ahh how do you feel about not trying before the wedding? I wouldn't go back on the pill but that's a personal choice because I dont like it haha. But condoms for a year might be tiresome!

@MIW01 are you allowed to try before your op in march?

About the caffeine - I read that 1 cup of coffee is fine and the amount in chocolate is negligible compared to one cup of coffee so as I dont drink coffee I will be okay replacing it with my numerous chocolate bars 🤣🤣

1990shopefulftm · 19/02/2020 20:47

@rathernotshare We're in a similar position to you, I m 25 next month and DH is 28, most of our friends are in relationships but they've all said children are far in the future for them. I've not wanted to tell any of them that we're trying in case it takes a while, we're on month 3 now.

I stopping taking the pill years ago so we just used condoms before ttc but my cycle went back to normal the month after I stopped the pill so hopefully its not long for you to wait.

1990shopefulftm · 19/02/2020 20:44

@whatsthecraic91 I agree it does taste the time. I pretty much have chocolate when I bake something rather than chocolate bars, but i can't give up chocolate cake completely.

Kiza · 19/02/2020 20:41

@whatsthecraic91 when we saw the consultant early Dec it was only a couple of days spotting before AF as the long spells of spotting before AF had stopped early last year and she said it's fine.
However the spotting during O and longer spotting before AF has typically started after our consultation so nothing we can do until we see her again and are waiting on that appointment.
I've read online that cramping after AF can be up to a week or 2 weeks later, it's very mild cramping and not sure if it's O pains as I sometimes get those 🤷🏼‍♀️

I hadn't thought of caffeine in chocolate either and I have at least a bar a day!

rathernotshare · 19/02/2020 20:02

@whatsthecraic91 thanks! Yes I stopped taking the combined pill 4 weeks ago so I know it could be a long wait yet, but exciting nonetheless Smile I'm here to learn mostly! Don't have many people to talk to about this kind of stuff, we are 25 and most of our friends are in a different stage of life at the minute

whatsthecraic91 · 19/02/2020 19:53

@Lottiepink sorry your temp has dropped, is it the usual drop you have before AF?

whatsthecraic91 · 19/02/2020 19:52

@Kiza is it normal to have pains this long after a HSG? have you said to your doctor about the spotting?

@rathernotshare welcome! That's very exciting! Hopefully it's not a long journey for you 😊 were you on a contraceptive?

@1990shopefulftm I try to keep my caffeine down too, I'm not a coffee drinker, but I have 1 or 2 cups of tea a day and I swapped to caffeine free Diet Coke! I think it tastes the same but DP says it's different 🙄 I always forget chocolate has caffeine in it 😬

Kiza · 19/02/2020 19:28

@Lozzlepop it wasn't pretty but that's cos she struggled to get the catheter through my cervix, didn't feel a thing when she inflated the balloon or dye though. I did have some propanalol so knock your Valium back if you're partial 😄
That's great that you've got a number of your tests so close together, hope AF is kind to you this time around. I agree with the others about trying to stay away from the pill but I understand your risk of not wanting to risk another pregnancy, perhaps good old condoms and abstain from the fertile window?

@Lottiepink writing stuff and Q's down for the appointments a good idea!

@whatsthecraic91no still waiting on O, think it's been delayed by the HSG.

@rathernotshare welcome to the group, the excitement and hopefulness is great to have!

@MIW01 a friend of mine who's had insomnia for years tried a combination of cbd oil and valerian root, she said it's not down wonders but has defiantly given her an extra couple of hours a night. But understand that you want to refrain from supplements for a while.

So still getting cramps from the HSG on Thursday and have also got that weird spotting again mixed with EWCM which I had 2 months ago... this spotting is concerning me a bit and I'm wondering if it's hormonal?

rathernotshare · 19/02/2020 19:14

Hello all! Brand new mumsnetter here so forgive me for my lack of acronyms Grin

My husband and I have finally decided that now is the right time to try , and I can't contain my excitement!

MIW01 · 19/02/2020 17:36

Wishing you the best of luck with IVF @ValidUser

@Lozzlepop I wouldn't take anything hormonal if I were you as you want your body as hormonal balanced as possible given your situation. And I agree with @whatsthecraic91

Nutrition is supposed to be the biggest most important factor for managing hormones and I'm doing my absolute best to focus on that but goodness know what's going on with my body. I think sleep deprivation is a major factor but unfortunately that's something I've had issues with most of my life so no easy answer there! Have tried all sorts of supplements, off them for now hoping body will reset . . . Just glad I've got this husteroscopy booked in March
