I have bought both the pink the standard one and the advanced..

Currently cd8 and the pink one was just a circle..

When do I ideally need to start as usually ovulate cd10 but app is saying cd13 this month..

Haven’t used the purple as haven’t received the sticks as yet :(

Fmu???

Xx

@WooMaWang that’s weird I messaged you back and it’s not come up!! Signal was bad at work..
your partner seems really intuitive mines not 😂
Wonder what this cramping is?? I’ve had indigestion and sore boobs all day.. which is odd for me, surely I wouldn’t be having symptoms already xxx

@Itsemily I agree, definitely not worth is getting to obsessed as opks and necessarily accurate, going with the flow is better xx

@Sunflower2019 thank you. I used the CB last month and it did match with my symptoms, CM etc but vowed I wouldn't use it this month. So I am not going to bother now. I am going to just carry on DTD every other day until AF is due lol , much easier that way

WooMaWang · 30/10/2019 08:52

@Sunflower2019 I was weirdly crampy yesterday too. I've no idea why. I'm hoping it's not the sign of imminent D&V. The disease vectors children have had a bug this week, so I don't want that.

WooMaWang · 30/10/2019 08:48

I had a weird cycle last month too after a coil removal. A weird, intermittent, light, short period and then ages before ovulation. As you can see in the CB app screenshots.

This cycle started with what was unmistakably a real period. I started testing on CD8 (as promoted by the app) and didn't get any flashing smileys at all (after 5 in the previous cycle). I got a solid one on CD11. If my luteal phase is the same length as the first cycle, this will be a 28 day cycle (unlike the 34 days of the previous one).

I've had to explain to DP again how cycles work and what the sticks are testing for. He seemed to be worried that it was too early this month or something. Honestly, he's really smart and capable but seems to have decided that gender reproductive biology is too difficult to remember.

I'm hoping that my body has now figured out where it is after the mirena. And also hoping that there won't be any more cycles, obviously (aren't we all?).

Also you will get a blank circle for one or two days while it gets your baseline and then you will get your flashing :-) for God knows how many days apparently it can be 2 to 8 days xx

@Itsemily Hey nice to see you back, I’m now currently officially in my two week wait due my period around 11th of November!

I actually gave up on my digital because I kept getting flashing :-) is and I read that you should test from cycle day seven I think I tested from cycle day eight and also once you’ve got your surge you can miss it just by testing in the morning and it was getting really expensive having to keep using those sticks, I went on Amazon and I bought the easy at home ovulation test sticks and they have been amazing really good unlike the cheapie onesteps that I was using before. I had some really funny cramps last night and really sore boobs so could still be ovulating or something?

I feel like this cycle like my last one has been a little bit messed up so I’m not expecting much but I must admit I am feeling really crampy so I’m hoping that’s a positive!!

How are you? X

@Sunflower2019 hey me again ! What CD did you get your flashing smiley ? As I caved in, even though I said I wouldn’t , and did an ovulation test this morn, been getting CM (more creamy coloured than egg white at the mo ), last month I got my flashing smiley two days after my suspected period (it was light as it was after my coil removal ). This months AF was obviously super heavy , and ended last Friday . My test today was a blank circle , but app says I should be in my fertile window ? I did it the other day to programme the stick to my regular hormones , so it should be able to pick it up . Shall I just ignore it , keep DTD as usual until AF due back ??

WooMaWang · 29/10/2019 14:43

Yes. He asks me about the result though.

And then I have to clarify again what each of the types of smileys mean and the implications. I find myself thinking: but you're really highly qualified and totally able to deal with really technical stuff at work every day. Why am I having to explain this again?

Sunflower2019 · 29/10/2019 14:15

@WooMaWang I never really tell dp just say it’s to track my period.. they don’t really understand it all anyway do they!

Just wishing I Knew what dpo I am 😭 I’m going to say 1dpo for now! Just go by my Premom app! Thinking to give the clear blue a rest... too stressful!

My dp woke me up at 4am for work and haven’t been back to sleep so got a blanket, snacks and an old cheesy film, need some energy for work tomorrow! I felt super dizzy today and boobs are so sore.. I’m thinking hormonal/tired, so I reckon ovulation wasn’t long ago xxx

The ovulation stick definitely makes DP anxious. The presence of a smiley bloody face seems to make him feel under pressure.

I have tried to explain that we should just do what we were going to do anyway (we tend to have sex every day anyway, unless he's away with work or something). But he starts overthinking it all.

I'm only using them because I need to get some idea of what my cycle actually is. I had a mirena out in early September and hadn't had periods for more than a decade (the last one would be my LMP before I conceived DS2, and he's 10 now). So I just had no idea when to expect anything at all.

Once I have figured out what my cycle actually is like, I probably won't bother with them. Or, ideally, I'll get a BFP and I won't need to know.

Sunflower2019 · 28/10/2019 21:14

@Itsemily you are soooo right! Wished I’d never bought this clear blue thing, as now I’m freaking out I’m not ovulating or something’s wrong :(
Plus they are pricey! Definitely gonna fake a more relaxed approach next month ❤️

Hey @Sunflower2019 , it's me from our other thread :) OPK's can cause more stress than good. I'm not using them this month, just going to go for it. It caused too much confusion last month, I waited and waited for my solid smiley and when I got it I ended dup spending hours googling when I will ovulate after the smiley, some people said 48hrs, others said 12, I panicked about not being able to DTD with DH at work etc. I don't recommend them now, too much hassle! Just BD and have fun xx

Sunflower2019 · 28/10/2019 13:54

Yes I know.. even when I use a pot I make a mess 😂 think the dp is going off me @claireb707

claireb707 · 28/10/2019 13:34

Or drop the test down the loo 😂

claireb707 · 28/10/2019 13:34

I've never poas. I always go into something and dip, I don't trust myself not to get it everywhere otherwise 😂😂

Sunflower2019 · 28/10/2019 13:32

I done a clear blue last night and it was playing up, don’t think I peed on it long enough so maybe that’s why! I will test again tomorrow and if nothing I guess I’ve already ovulated!

Plus I have symptoms today as feel offish.. I’m having lots of clear thin cm aswell not sure if that’s a sign

Thanks @claireb707 hopefully next month I’ll understand it more 😂

Yes once you get close to your estimated ovulation day you need to be testing at least twice a day so you don't miss your peak

Sunflower2019 · 28/10/2019 13:25

@teachermam what concerns me is that you are testing in the morning and then what if you have an LH surge over the evening and then you will miss it? At least when I use the cheap opks they show me the line getting darker and darker but with this I’m just so confused!

Yes definitely report back tomorrow and I will do the same but I’m thinking I have missed my surge!

OP posts:
teachermam · 28/10/2019 12:30

@sunflower 2019 I've just started using the clearblue ovulation tests I thought I would ovulate over the last couple of days but I've been getting a flashing :-) since Thursday
I'm on day 16 and I've no other symptoms so maybe I'm ovulating late I'm not sure
I was hoping for a solid smiley today day so so we'll see you tomorrow

Sunflower2019 · 28/10/2019 11:26

Yes I’ll keep checking with the cheapy opks for now and if anything changes I’ll whip out the clear blue! Just wish I had an obvious peak! Xxx @claireb707

OP posts:
claireb707 · 28/10/2019 11:14

That could be still ovulation though if you have symptoms 🤞

Sunflower2019 · 28/10/2019 11:08

@claireb707 I was testing with the clear blue twice as well so that’s annoying 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

My boobs feel sore today and last night I had a crampy feeling on left side so I reckon I’ve missed it! Xx

OP posts:
claireb707 · 28/10/2019 10:43

I'd say your peak was yesterday looking at those or even maybe Saturday night

Sunflower2019 · 28/10/2019 10:33

Here is my app with opks... @claireb707 @WooMaWang

I had cystitis yesterday too so wasn’t a full hold! I will test later this afternoon but worrying as only one clear blue stick left 🤦🏽‍♀️

I’ve been dtd every day to cover myself! Xx @

Last month (first cycle) I had 5 days of flashing smileys before a solid one. This month, I had no flashing smileys and straight to solid yesterday. So you might not have missed your surge - it might just be a several flashing smileys cycle.
