Being unrealistic with myself

Wondering if anyone else experienced this... I am already setting unrealistic expectations for myself. I had my coil out 2 weeks ago, had sex maybe twice since and for some reason am disappointed I am not pregnant ... any tips on how to not do this to myself??

Exactly! It’s a shame because I’m feeling a bit off last couple of days so thought maybe this could be it but never mind, I’ve only been trying 1 cycle since my fibroid came out so I’m not worried yet!
Had a dizzy and nauseous moment and I’ve got sinus pressure and weirdly my cramps have stopped since Friday lol!

It’s not too long now!! Nearly there!! You can do thiiiis!! Bet nausea at work is because you know you’ve still got 7.5 months until maternity leave haha!

@ScaredFlamingo oh no :( that sucks. Least when she comes it will be a new cycle.

Nausea isn't too bad at the moment but always seems worse when I'm at work which sucks. I'm can't wait for my early scan on the 5th seems to be so long away 😩

ScaredFlamingo · 24/02/2020 08:34

@27andcounting I tested this morning and BFN, so just waiting game for AF now!

ScaredFlamingo · 21/02/2020 20:17

@27andcounting Fingers crossed... I’m away this weekend but I may do a test when we’re back. I don’t expect it to be BFP but everything crossed it is!

How’s the nausea?

27andcounting · 21/02/2020 18:16

@ScaredFlamingo literally my test at 10DPO was so faint I couldn't be sure.... I've attached it. Could barely make it out.

Not wanting to get you hopes up too much but basically the same symptoms as me and I never got a implantation bleed so who knows!

ScaredFlamingo · 21/02/2020 06:42

@27andcounting haha I would likely do the same to be honest!!

I did a test at 10dpo but it was like in the evening and I thiiiiiink I saw a super faint line but it could have been my eyes deceiving me so I’m going to get some tests and do one tomorrow morning. I had really bad heartburn last night but other than that and the dull aches, I’m not really feeling very pregnant haha!

27andcounting · 20/02/2020 19:28

@ScaredFlamingo To be honest I hate keeping it I'm so wouldn't of been able to keep it from him long enough to plan anything. 🙈 I've treated ya to 1 item and that's it u too any scans and it's only cause it was in the dale too much to reset... just a little winter bodysuit 😂 I'm so bad. Early scan is booked in for the 5th March though.

How are you getting one? Given in yet?

ScaredFlamingo · 19/02/2020 19:50

@27andcounting Yea, I just hate this waiting.

Aww that’s quite cute to be honest... I think if I get pregnant and tell my partner he’s gonna freak haha! He’s onboard but I think the reality will kick him lol!
I would def get the early test if you can!! I couldn’t wait as long as that haha!

27andcounting · 19/02/2020 18:56

@ScaredFlamingo exactly just hold out as long as you can. Still early doors.

I know it seems forever away I was talking to my OH and think we're going to book in an early scan for like 2 weeks time.
I know I wouldn't mind too much but one would be plenty for now ahah, I feel like I know loads of people having twins at the moment so it's weird.
I just Burt our crying so he came to investigate and saw me holding the test so not very exciting but I've just bigger plans for telling my dad and his mum and dad. The only other person I have told is my sister and it's literally because I don't have my mum anymore so I've really needed someone to talk to and she's got a little girl already.

ScaredFlamingo · 19/02/2020 08:35

@27andcounting oh interesting.. we only had sex once in my fertile period and by my count if should have been the day before I ovulated. I’m trying not to overthink it but right now I feel nothing haha! If you google it though everyone says they had symptoms at like 6dpo onwards ...! My Mum did say she didn’t have a clue she was pregnant until 2 weeks after her period was due, so fingers crossed there’s still a chance.

March seems so far away?! Can you get an early scan? This is a problem with ttc because you find out so early haha!
Oh god... twins?! Haha! At least you get 2 for price of 1 😉 ...! Sorry to hear you feel so sickly but like you say; it’s all good signs. I’ve heard ginger tea helps.
How did you tell your partner?

OP posts:
27andcounting · 18/02/2020 18:47

@ScaredFlamingo I felt a bit like that, I'd say hold off at least till 11/12DPO if you can. Fingers are crossed for you.
My OH and I were talking and I completely forgot that he started struggling to cum (TMI) and the only time he did was the day I got the positive ovulation test which meant I ovulated the next day..... so all it takes is the once.

Going alright went to my doctors yesterday and got an appointment with the midwife on the 17th March when I'll be approx 8/9weeks so exciting but also feels ages away. Nausea is getting worse each day, only actually been sick like twice but keep getting little sick burps so I don't doubt it will pick up more yet, i don't mind though because it's a good sign. Although did have a fright yesterday because I saw on another site someone saying something about strong HCG levels early on could point to twins and my tests got strong quite quickly haha.

ScaredFlamingo · 18/02/2020 15:03

@27andcounting If I’m honest, I’ve felt more pregnant previous months before AF. I actually feel generally better than I usually do haha! I’ve still got the odd twinge in my lower abdomen but other than that, nothing... I did a FRER yesterday and was bfn but I would have been 7/8dpo so unlikely I would have got a BFP anyway.

How are you getting on? Is the nausea bad??

OP posts:
27andcounting · 18/02/2020 13:20

@ScaredFlamingo so sorry to hear that :( you're not out till you're out.... I don't get people that say 'oh I just knew I was pregnant' or that feeing pregnant feeling I never got it and even now I only know I am because of the tests and then the nausea 🤢🤢🤢

ScaredFlamingo · 17/02/2020 08:40

@goodforbrian as @27andcounting said ... there is no need to apologise! We have all been there, and taking a break is sometimes the best thing for your own mental health!! And agreed, just enjoy having sex with your partner, don’t put pressure on for it to achieve anything but orgasms haha!

I think I’m out this month. I don’t feel particularly pregnant haha! I’ve had some twinges and prickling feelings in my lower abdomen since 5/6dpo, I’m now like 8/9dpo and had a dull ache on my right side last night, my boobs were a little sore and lots of cm but woke up this morning and nothing. Think I’ve been overthinking every twinge haha!

OP posts:
27andcounting · 16/02/2020 22:38

@goodforbrian I'm good and never feel like you need to apologise, it's a tough road and sometimes you just need to take a step back to gather your thoughts. The literally the best thing about Mumsnet is nobody is judgemental for you doing what you need to but we will always be here to support whether to it's share news, update us on your journey or just to have a good old rant.

Just do it for the sex, get as many orgasms as you can and if it works great if not least you will of had a satisfying week in other ways 🤣🤣

goodforbrian · 16/02/2020 22:25

Aww @27andcounting I am so happy for you 🥰 I am so sorry I made you feel weird about posting but honestly seeing your update made me smile and gives me hope.
I am sorry to you and @ScaredFlamingo for being a bit quiet/doing a flounce lol.
I'm ok. Tomorrow starts the beginning on my fertile week. I honestly don't know if I can go through it again. I'll see how I feel.
Sorry again about running away. I hope you understand x

27andcounting · 16/02/2020 20:44

@ScaredFlamingo @goodforbrian
Also forgot to tell you both, we used Pre-Seed lubricant around my ovulation (when I thought I was and when the stick said I was) I don't know whether that's what did it or not but thought I would recommend (although it says to use 3ml but I only used like 1.5 each time)

ScaredFlamingo · 15/02/2020 11:18

@27andcounting Yea I heard that actually, that it’s when you don’t feel pregnant that you usually are haha! I’m about 7dpo today and only thing I’ve noticed is bad headaches, bit of cramping yesterday and Thursday and I woke up with a blocked nostril this morning but that could be anything so I’m not really getting any hopes up!! My nipples are a little sore but nothing to write home about. It would be lucky if we managed to get preg considering only had sex once this fertile period haha!

I imagine but trying and relax, what will be will be and I am sure it will all be fine!!

OP posts:
27andcounting · 15/02/2020 08:30

@ScaredFlamingo thanks 😊 and not too many actually not like you read on here. Mainly just my nipples were so painful (TMI) didn't have any implantation bleed though but apparently these are rarer then lead to believe.

Also I had a bit nausea and feels like it's slowing picking up day by day. And lastly surprisingly still got cramps, just just ever so slightly off like they were cramps but didn't really feel like AF.

I keep testing everyday because I'm so worried.

ScaredFlamingo · 13/02/2020 23:53

@27andcounting omg congratulations!! I can see that line!!! Ahhh so exciting!!! Did you note any symptoms? I’m only 5dpo but I’ve had cramping all day - enough for a hot water bottle.. it could literally be anything .. I thought was my Crohn’s flaring but not had any other symptoms.

27andcounting · 13/02/2020 22:54

Picture doesn't show it as much as IRL

27andcounting · 13/02/2020 22:53

@ScaredFlamingo glad to hear you've found it a bit easier since your break.

I feel so terrible sharing this since GoodForBrian has had a difficult time this cycle. But I've got a faint positive on a cheapie and then again on a FRER. Currently 10DPO so looks like the OPK was my ovulation!! Really wanted to share it with you both.

ScaredFlamingo · 13/02/2020 19:01

@goodforbrian and @27andcounting I am sending all the love and hugs to you both! I have to say it was nice to have a break from TTC, even if it was a forced break. I am finding this TTW a bit easier for it.

I am also now having a flare up of my Crohn’s disease at moment!

OP posts:
27andcounting · 12/02/2020 20:42

@goodforbrian so sorry to hear this 😞 like @ScaredFlaming said we'll be here. Whether you just want to talk about it and have a good rant about TTC from what I've read it's healthy to have a break everyone now and again else you just keep going round I. Circles. Funnily enough me and my partner spoke about maybe stopping after March and planning a wedding instead.... but as we've got holiday booked in April we are going to use that as the last month TTC before having a break to plan and save for a wedding.

I wish you all the best and wait for you to return when your feeling back into it maybe you need a cycle or two to just reset xx

ScaredFlamingo · 12/02/2020 11:35

@goodforbrian Oh hun, I have been a little worried about you. That’s fair enough if you need a break, do what you need to do. We’re here when you’re feeling better and want to come back. I’m sending hugs!!! It will happen for you, and you will have the most perfect baby when it does xxx
