First time TTC - Coming off the pill. Anyone with me?!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to start a thread after reading through some and watching.

I came off the pill 1st september, bled 8th-12th then spotted/light bleed again 21st-25th september.

I'm using Flo which I think is pretty inaccurate right now but it's saying I'm due on tomorrow.

No symptoms really - think any I have had have been in my head!

Hoping to find someone who is also starting their journey of TTC for the first time ☺️

@ACMJ 😂😂😂 are you not fertile all month. If only 😫

Mines watery at the minute! Weird.

I've spoken to my friend and shes forcing me to test 😫 to be fair she is probably right i have no sign of AF coming still ... but then she does pop out of nowhere 😂

@gegi CM has been really strange. When I first came off my pill I had lots of watery CM. Then during what was supposed to be my fertile window it was pretty much non existent so I ended up getting sore so stopped for a couple days! (sorry if tmi 😂) The last couple of weeks it has been up and down but I certainly have lots of it it’s just watery though not stretchy so I have no idea if I even ovulated this month as it was never stretchy! What about yours? Oh my god me too. My OH is getting annoyed with the amount I’m spending on tests and keeps asking why it’s not happened first time, they don’t understand 😂 I mentioned my fertile window the other day and he just went ‘ what on earth is that, are you not fertile all month’ 😂 bless!! Helps having an outlet though

gegi · 19/10/2019 10:21

@ACMJ whats your cm like? When are you going to test again? Ahhhh I love being able to talk on here because DP just thinks its going to happen like magic!

Ooh just slightly behind be then! Feels like such a long wait haha! But it’s nice that someone else is in the same boat as me and is still waiting for their first real AF. Honestly so do I, I have so much respect for the NHS but when it gets personal it’s like cmon just help me speed the process up 😂😂

gegi · 19/10/2019 10:08

@ACMJ oh god the dr thing is annoying! I have to say I love the NHS but there are some drs that just make me want to cry!!! It's like they don't listen or read their notes... ever!!!

OP posts:
gegi · 19/10/2019 10:06

@Izzie94 because it's my first month I've not really been tracking it but I will next month if this isn't my month deffo!!!

@ACMJ its a bit tricky to say how late I am because of coming off the pill but flo is saying 7 days late... my withdrawal bleed was 41 days ago! And I had a few days of spotting that started about 29 days ago... so I'm still reluctant to test as I'm worried about being disappointed 😂

I'm not sure if I'm confusing the butterflies for nausea because I do feel a bit sick too? It's like a feeling I get when I'm nervous so maybe it's just my mind playing tricks on me 🙈😫

OP posts:
ACMJ · 19/10/2019 09:54

@gegi yeah it is so hard to not symptom spot as you never know what you are imagining and what is actually there! Yeah the butterflies feeling is strange and could be a sign! I would wait to see if AF arrives and take it from there. When did you say you were due on?? I think I’m going to book a doctors appt next week as I am SO bloated, you know just like before AF arrives but being 15 days late now it’s not going and just feel uncomfortable! Did another test this morning again came up with a weird shadow line in the time frame but no big changes still. Thing that’s annoying me is my doctors know that my periods are weird and I was investigated before I started the pill 4/5 years ago and they said that when I want to TTC to come back and they would support me with hormone pills. Went last week, same doctor, and she was like let’s just see if it happens naturally!! Wasting my time! Why is TTC and seeing doctors so challenging 🤷🏼‍♀️🤯

Izzie94 · 18/10/2019 21:32

@gegi I'm SO broody!!! Have been ever since I can remember 👶🏻 do you get any other symptoms of Ov? Little twinges? EWCM? Don't worry if you don't because it's completely normal not too! But some do, and some check internally for cm to see whether they've ovulated as often aps can place you earlier / later than it really is!! Sperm can survive a while, so you might be fine 🙊 fingers crossed for you!! Xxx

gegi · 18/10/2019 21:12

@kylieeee I've literally just googled early pregnancy symptoms 😂😂😂😂 so glad i found this though

OP posts:
gegi · 18/10/2019 21:11

@kylieeee omg i get thrush all the time so don't ask me 😂😂😂

@Izzie94 i do that too 😂 Ive wanted a baby since forever. I get so broody 😫

I tried to send a pic of my flo chart but it won't let me because im too new 🙄

Basically it thinks my ovulation was 1st-5th October and it thinks I was due my period on 13th.

If it was right on my ovulation then I think I'm out to be honest because my DP was away with work that week 🙄 but my cm suggested otherwise hmmmmm

kylieeee · 18/10/2019 21:08

@Izzie94 awh thank you lovely, I hope baby luck is with you too! As for the google history, long gone are the clothes websites, now it's 'early pregnancy symptoms' 'raised bumps on nipples?' 'Is thrush linked to pregnancy?' 😂😂 xx

Izzie94 · 18/10/2019 20:58

@gegi hahhaha it takes over your mind doesn't it!? I swear I sit at work thinking allll day about babies, about prams I like, clothes I like, names I like 😂😂😂 ahhhh amazing, I always wanted children at around 23 but it just never happened, 25 isn't so bad though I guess 🤪😂 haha dtd is def the best bit, luckily me and dp have always been on the same level with dtd so it works well 🙈

Heartburn and flutters can be all pregnancy symptoms, Ive had them in the TWW before and so gotten my hopes up, buttttt were all different and it could just well be 🙊

@SavannahKT I wouldn't worried yet hun, can take a while for your body to kick back into shape. I was on my pill 10 years, it took me 6 weeks to get my period 😊 just keep dtd lots and lots!! You may not even get a period and fall!! (this is what I've always wanted, no dramas haha!)

@kylieeee Hiiii lovely!! Eeee so exciting!! Hope you've done everything this month and it's your month 💜 haha we all symptom spot like crazy, my Google history is probably worrying 😂😂 keep us posted and sending loads of baby dust!

Xx

kylieeee · 18/10/2019 20:50

@gegi thank you lovely! So according to Flo, I ovulated on the 9th which I think was round about right?! I let curiosity get the better of me last night and tested🤦🏽‍♀️ it was negative but I know it's too early so I'm trying to hold out until I'm due on next week and I'll test if AF doesn't show herself! (Although I do have another test in the draw that I swear is calling my name)😂 I've had a lot of nausea over the last few days, feeling ratty and tired - also probably tmi but I have mild thrush which I've never had before, I read that can be a sign but??? X

gegi · 18/10/2019 20:46

@ACMJ I have a weird heart burn feeling too 😂😫 I hate symptom spotting. I often google early symptoms and tick them all off in my head like ... mm yeah i was pretty tired thjs morning 😂😂😂😂😂 isn't everyone tired in the morning? 😂 it's the feelings of butterflies in my tummy that is getting me... when was the last time you tested?

@SavannahKT welcome! Mine was 8 days later and looks like @kylieeee was longer too!! Don't worry! I know someone who never had a withdrawal bleed, just an implantation!! Isn't that the dream 😂

@kylieeee welcome hun! Surely you are CD 21ish now? Not too long before you can test? What are your symptom spots so far? Xxx

Hi girls! Can I join the party?Grin

I'm 24, been with fiancé for 6 years and we decided it's time to add a third musketeer into the team! I came off my pill around the end of August, had my first real period on the 25th September. I also use Flo, although not sure how accurate just yet! Me and OH have been at it every other day, except we squeezed in once a day during my 5 day fertile windowGrin

I'm now 6 days away from AF being due and hoping soooo much we've worked our magic this time around. I've been feeling ALL the broodiness for years now so I'm standard symptom spotting and testing early despite knowing its far too early for a positiveBlush

Sending you all baby dust zzz

SavannahKT · 18/10/2019 20:32

I came off the pill on the 10/10 after about 10 years (lots of number 10 here hahaha), many of which with no period, but no bleeding oor simptom since then...should I be worried?

ACMJ · 18/10/2019 20:27

@gegi oh an heartburn! Never had it in my life until now

ACMJ · 18/10/2019 20:22

@gegi yeah I know that’s what I have heard as well so I am just so stumped! Symptoms have increased today too, increased CM, headaches, bloating, cramping but I don’t know how much I am imagining as want it so much! Being 14 days late I would of seen something proper by now I’m sure

gegi · 18/10/2019 19:50

@Izzie94 I'm going to try wait longer than the weekend...🙈 think I tested on the 8th of October and was negative... I know its been 10 days since then though 😫 trying not to think about it haha but its constantly on my mind!

Dtd is the fun part 😂 I'm loving it 😂😂

I'm 23 🙈

@firstbabyloading ahh thanks for sharing! Congratulations bet you are so excited. Do you know what you are having? Xx

@ACMJ omg so similar to me!!! Faint lines have got to mean something?! I was told false positives aren't really a thing as they are usually really accurate but my mum told me that so im not sure 😂 I have similar symptoms to you really!

Also.,. I've had a butterflies in my tummy feeling really badly all day yesterday and today but not sure if I'm overthinking it? Has anyone heard of that before?

I had some slight cramps too maybe AF is coming 😫

OP posts:
firstbabyloading · 18/10/2019 18:05

Yeah really easy its good that u get so many for cheap as i was testing a few times a day up until actual ovulation day but its good cos you see the line getting darker up until your day, so we tried from getting a faint line several times until the line disappeared, and it clearly worked 😂 so I can't recommend them enough. Fingers crossed for you x

Izzie94 · 18/10/2019 17:56

@firstbabyloading I kind of always tried by the app and I think that's where I was going wrong!! 😬 Did you find the OPKs easy to use? I was worried id become too consumed by it if I did 😅 but would definitely help pinpoint Ov!! Do love reading people's success stories, gives me hope 😁X

ACMJ · 18/10/2019 17:45

I’m with you as well! Came off pill on 3rd September and had withdrawal 6-10 sept. Currently 14 days past expected period but no AF and no idea of dates so don’t know whether to worry or not! Had so many symptoms but the biggest being tiredness and extreme hunger 😂 no idea what is going on keep getting very very faint lines on all of my tests for at least 2 weeks now, very faint but there is defiantly something there but concerned it’s been faint for 2+ weeks now. Also don’t even know if I ovulated or just having post pill ammenorrhea! Stressed Envy

firstbabyloading · 18/10/2019 17:10

Hi OP
Haven't read through whole thread but just wanted to add my advice hoping it might help.

I came off the pill after about 10 years back in October last year and gave my body a few months to get back to 'normal' and waited for my periods to become regular again.

They eventually got into a pattern and we started to use the flo app for a couple of months however it was quite off as I bought alot of cheap ovulation strips from Amazon I actually ovulated nearly a week after the app estimated I would.

So the first month we used an ovulation test I actually conceived and now have 2 weeks til we meet our baby 😊

I understand it may not happen this easily for everyone but I would say don't pin everything on the app as it used to get me stressed, good luck 😊

Izzie94 · 18/10/2019 16:54

@gegi You're welcome hun 😊

I'd say wait it out over the weekend (if you can 🙊) then test again!! I swear our body plays cruel tricks with us as soon as it knows we're ttc! 😅 Every time I went to test shed show 😂😂 it's so cliche but being stress free must definitely help!! But easier said than done ey!!

Yeah I have as of today, we're going to start Jan /Feb by which time I hope you're not on this thread 🙊 I feel more clued up now so will spend those first few months dtd every damn day if I have to hahaha!!! Omg I know, so many of my friends have happy accidents and I'm like HOWWWW!! TELL ME HOW!!! 😂

How old are you? I'm 25, so feeling quite lucky that time is on my side, but also expected it to happen so much sooner 🙄 xx

gegi · 18/10/2019 16:22

Also - think it was a sainsburys test i used 😂😂
