Hey out there!

Thought I'd start a little thread to see if anybody will be in the same boat.

Finally decided to start our TTC journey! Very excited and a little nervous!

This will be our first baby, I'm 28 and my husband is 27. We have been together over 8 years. I have already started taking folic acid with vitamin D to get used to taking it.

Looking at TTC after we are back from our holiday to New York in November.

Currently on Cerelle and been on this for 4 years before this I was on the implant and then before this another pill from about 16.

I have no idea about cycles and not really had regular periods since I was 15!

Feel free to join and tell me your story if you are going to start your journey around the same time! SmileSmile bye for now!

@Elmlee good luck! My advice is don't overthink it as your body will need to get back into routine... mine took a couple of months before I was regular again!
I just brought my folic acid on amazon 400mg

Elmlee · 24/11/2019 17:55

@27andcounting Thanks for joining!

Good luck with your TTC journey. I've been off my pill for 2 day's now.

Me and the hubby had our chat and we decided to go for it and just see what happens... it's quite exciting nerve wrecking haha!

Looking forward to all the trying 😛 haha!

Haven't had regular periods for like 13 years so will be interesting!

Started on the folic acid as well.. if anyone reading knows where to get higher dose one let me know 😊😊

@Banoffeepie how are things going with you? 91

I've just had my implant removed and TTC for mine and my OH first. I've heard with the implants things go back to normal really quickly and I've had regular periods probably for the last year or so. Just going to see what happens.
Would be lovely to be ima threat without others in a similar position

I'm 27 and OH if 28

Elmlee · 21/11/2019 13:16

Hey Ladies Grin
Hope you are all well?
We've had a wonderful holiday, just trying to get over the jet lag and these plane bugs we have caught!
Still not sure what to do regarding my pill, not sure weather to stop now or weather to hold off until January.
My husband was asking when I was planning on stopping just have no idea!
Good luck with your journeys.
We will have they chat' and see what happens! I'll let you all know xx

Hi everyone. I got my coil out in June so we’ve been trying since then but nothing yet. When I went into this all I stupidly thought we’d be pregnant by Christmas but contraception does take a while to leave your system. I think my periods have only just started to go back to normal. I also started by thinking I didn’t want an August baby but after trying for a few months I realised that I really don’t care as long as I do actually get pregnant and it’s healthy. I also started thinking about my friends with August birthdays and they’ve all got really good careers and never seemed to struggle in school so I wouldn’t worry about that bit at all.
Good luck to all of you. It’s an exciting journey and these forums are great for letting off steam and talking to others in similar situations.

Hi Everyone,

First time poster :) This is my third month ttc. I had a mc last month and aunt flo has just arrived today :( So December will be our lucky month...I hope! Just wanted to say hello and will follow on to a December thread if one gets started! Baby dust to you all!!

Shuckle · 20/11/2019 08:05

Hi guys, we were going to start TTC baby #1 in January but got a bit carried away on holiday and decided we could start in November! Currently 4dpo, this TWW stuff is a barrel of emotions already Grin

@Elmlee if you haven't already, definitely might be an idea to look at getting off the pill sooner rather than later - then if it takes a while for periods to settle you have plenty of time to get a head start on that. I came off the pill last December and we went to using condoms instead, then o was tracking periods while I waited and hopefully good a good picture of my cycles already.

Good luck everyone, sending BFP's to you all Smile

Hi,

I would like to join if that is ok?

I am currently at the start of my first ever two week wait, and already feeling the anticipation. Not sure I will be able to cope with the tww every month of trying, I am very impatient, hence the name.

Hoping that chatting with others on here will stop me from talking about it constantly with my OH, who says I might ruin the baby dancing if I keep talking about ovulation, cervical mucus etc!

Has anyone started ttc yet?

@SSC92 am I right in thinking that you too might be at the very beginning of your tww?

SSC92 · 02/11/2019 11:58

Good luck ladies...
TTC in 2 weeks now...I cant wait till December ahh
AF is here...

WelshCake2019 · 30/10/2019 17:06

Hoping to TTC late Nov :), been off the pill for a year and now having regular periods so fingers crossed 🤞... 32 😊 Tried an ovulation stick last month and it worked so hoping everything is in working order x

JEMMA18 · 30/10/2019 16:43

Hey Ladies I thought I'd join too. I came off the pill 2 weeks ago and just going with the flow. I've heard it can take months for things to go back to normal ( although my cycles where never normal anyway ) but hoping I can join on the journey with you all :)

SSC92 · 21/10/2019 08:24

Btw I’m 28 and OH is 32 :)

SSC92 · 21/10/2019 08:22

@MrsSokhi I agree with you...things won’t always go as we want but as long as they’re healthy , that’s all that matters :) Tbh my main reason is my weight loss target to wait until December

@Elmlee I would say come off earlier especially since what @MrsSokhi has said! It may take a while for cycles to return to normal ?

Elmlee · 20/10/2019 23:58

Hello ladies Smile
Hello new posters.

Lovely to see some comments, I'm excited to start our journey... wondering weather to hold off to new year.., or might just come off my pill after our holiday mid November and see what happens as planned xxx

Hey ladies

This will be my 3 cycle trying since coming off the pill in May, it took until September for for cycles to go back any normal state so please don't get your hopes up that you will snap back because it didn't for me and I got a shock.
I don't mean to be mean but I wish I knew that before and I would have come off the pill a lot sooner.
Taking a good mv is definitely advisable, I'm using pregnacare conception which I would highly recommend as it normalised my cycles but did seem to delay the first cycle.

You can try your very best to plan the month you give birth etc but it probably won't work out that way, your better off just going with it and what will be will be. You'll drive yourself mad otherwise.

Good luck xxx

SSC92 · 20/10/2019 14:45

Think I will join this! December will be my first 'proper' TTC journey...
Have had previous one-off attempts which has led me to join other threads but we have put a halt to it ....mainly for a September baby but also because I want to get healthy! Fingers crossed for us !!

Hello Baby Dancer!

Thanks for joining me! Hope you are well?

It's so exciting isn't it... haven't really thought about that... ideally I could do with a due date before or after September... my husband works in the motor trade and a September birthday wouldn't be great!

We shall see...

We have a few things to do in our house before a baba arrives... ive been stripping wallpaper today! SmileSmile

Hi OP!

I'm 29 and my OH is 31, and we've decided to start TTC early December. I'm really excited. It feels like forever until December but I'm waiting it out as I'd prefer to have a September - April due date if we're lucky enough for things to work out quickly. Statistically August borns don't do as well at school because they're a whole year behind September borns. Ultimately though you can't decide - it's all down to luck!

We're looking to fully gut and renovate our home between now and December - so that's keeping me distracted in the meantime.
