Hey out there!

Thought I'd start a little thread to see if anybody will be in the same boat.

Finally decided to start our TTC journey! Very excited and a little nervous!

This will be our first baby, I'm 28 and my husband is 27. We have been together over 8 years. I have already started taking folic acid with vitamin D to get used to taking it.

Looking at TTC after we are back from our holiday to New York in November.

Currently on Cerelle and been on this for 4 years before this I was on the implant and then before this another pill from about 16.

I have no idea about cycles and not really had regular periods since I was 15!

Feel free to join and tell me your story if you are going to start your journey around the same time! SmileSmile bye for now!

@Emjs18 I know it's funny isn't it! I've had the most faintly tiny amount of blood tinged CM so 1st AF may be coming post implant 🤞 not had any typical period symptoms though so who knows!

Think this could all drive me mad 🤪 x

Emjs18 · 28/11/2019 22:43

@Loubell19 thanks for the tip, will have a nose around Amazon. I know I feel like I've really never thought this much about cycles and ovulation and now it's just taken over!

@Elmlee hopefully you'll escape lightly with the acne this time. I would have started earlier this year also but my Husband took a while to warm up to the idea of TTC even though we've been together 10 years and I've talked about it for quite a while. Maybe your timing will work out perfectly and you'll be able to have those extra 6 weeks.

Loubell19 · 28/11/2019 22:41

@Elmlee 😂 so I think theres an app you can get and it advises when to take them to work out your 6 fertile days. I bought some cheapo ones that I'm doing every day for now until I get a period just to get an idea but not sure what to think.. got a really faint line today so not sure if that means I'm starting to enter the fertile bit or if its negligible to be honest as I think you always have low levels of the hormone its testing but it is just higher in the fertile period.

But I spoke to my medical friend who said the evidence shows that as long as your dtd every 2-3 days it doesn't matter!

Yeah definitely think xmas will be a good distract ant! Wont feel guilty for wanting some bubbly if AF comes then! Silver linings lol. X

hello everyone, we're going to start TTC after my next af so will be early december. I'm 24 and DH is 28, i stopped taking the pill 4 years ago and haven't used hormonal contraception since so my cycles are quite regular. we did ttc for a couple of months earlier in the year but i didn't feel up to DTD much as my job at the time was causing me a lot of anxiety so i quit and got a new job which is much less stressful and hopefully will help with TTC.
I've been taking folic acid for almost 3 months now and don't drink or have much caffeine at all so hopefully that might help.

Elmlee · 28/11/2019 22:33

@Loubell19 I'll have a look thanks.. apart from the obvious what do we do with them lol 😂

Are you taking any vitamins? I'm currently taking folic acid and vitamin D.

I was just saying on another thread I think us all having Xmas to keep us busy we should smash it. Because it will keep us side tracked and I think if you over thick it you could really get upset if it takes time .

  • the black friday deal was on Amazon i should have said if anyone was interested x
Loubell19 · 28/11/2019 22:19

@Elmlee I know right! And as I got married a while ago now almost all of the weddings since ours the couples are either pregnant or just had babies! Aw I'm sorry to hear that about your job that must have been frustrating. It would be financially better for me to wait till feb but just dont want to 😂 and we can get by if it happens before then just means I'd have to take about 6 weeks less.

Loubell19 · 28/11/2019 22:16

Hey @Emjs18 the skin side of things sucks doesnt it! I think most of the acne treatments cant be used when you're trying to conceive as well.

I've bought some ovulation tests as I've just come off the implant to get more info about what my body's doing. There is a black friday deal on clear blue ovulation sticks 😂👍 (who am I now 🙈)

Elmlee · 28/11/2019 22:14

@Loubell19 seems to be so many of my friends list on Facebook lately who have all had babies... then celebs on Instagram... just loads of people.

We wanted to start earlier in year but I lost my job in May so it put a spanner in the works.

@Loubell19 crazy isn't it...

@Emjs18 welcome! I don't think your behind us... I started the thread a
While ago it hadn't really taken much action and was asking advice.

I've finally came off my pill now! I'm dreading what my skin will be like mine was so painful as a teen 😢😢

Emjs18 · 28/11/2019 21:58

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this too and a 1st time poster.
I came off the pill in July after being on it for 12 years and have 3 fairly long cycles since then, we're going to start TTC at end of December (might be a bit far behind you guys for this thread but couldn't find a December 2019 one and didn't want to start one!). This will be baby number 1, I'm 28 and my Husband is 29.

I have no idea if I'm ovulating, has anyone tried any ovulation tests? Can't work out if they are worth it, lots of mixed reviews for all the ones I've seen.

@Loubell19 my skin was great on the pill too, I'm getting acne again now. Feel like I'm going through a second puberty!

Loubell19 · 28/11/2019 21:53

@Elmlee almost- I'm 27! Were in very similar boats- weve been married 2.5 years. I know it's weird isn't it- I wish I'd come off hormonal contraception sooner so I'd know what my body was doing but got the implant cause we went travelling early this year and was worried about zika in case there were any slip ups!

Ah that's good! I've had nipple soreness but nothing else! It's crazy how much it suddenly consumes you out of nowhere. Theres so many babies being born around me I feel like it's all I see 👀😂

Elmlee · 28/11/2019 21:41

@Loubell19 Yeh that's the thing isn't it. Just no idea... I've noticed though myself over the last few months while I've been faffing with my pill that I've noticed like the nipples soreness I'd never really thought of before.

Did you say you were 28 and your husband was 30? I'm 28 and my husband is 27. We've been married just over a year and this is baby number 1 🤞

Is quite odd that we spend so much time trying to stop getting pregnant and now it's like hmmm when's AF coming back!

I'm getting lower back pain and noticeable lower stomach aches xx

Loubell19 · 28/11/2019 21:22

Hey @Elmlee it was such a relief to get it removed! I was ok for the first 9 months ish then I seemed to be getting heavy bleeds every 6 weeks that would last 2 weeks and would get awful pms which is weird as it's not a real period?!

I got on really well with the pill had really light bleeds and my skin was amazing but started to get migraine with aura so had to come off it.

Its frustrating isn't it! I've been googling CM patterns to try and work out what's going on lol! That's good you've had a period but it's still hard to know if it's a normal period or related to the contraception stopping isn't it !

Elmlee · 28/11/2019 21:12

@Loubell19

Hey lovely, how are you feeling after having it removed? The implant sent me crazy!

I started the pill at 15 for migraines and acne.. then went in the implant then back on the pill.. haven't really had a period for over 10 years.. had some spotting here and there if I've missed a pill or 2.

I'm in the same boat as you.. no idea about cycles and no idea what's going on!

As I said before I've been off my pill nearly a week ish and been bleeding since Tuesday... spotting since the Sunday. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Hello can I join the thread 🤗
I'm a 1st time poster on this site.
My husband and I have decided ttc our 1st.. we were going to wait until feb as I'd get a better mat leave package but the broodiness has taken over and thought wed get a jump start in case we have problems conceiving!

I'm 27 OH is 30. Had my implant out a week ago- had it in for 14 months. Was on combined pill for 9 years prior to this. Currently obsessed with trying to work out what's going on with my cycle 🙈😂 kind of want to see my first AF just to know where I am if that makes sense!
Be nice to follow each others progress!
Anyone else recently had an implant removed?

Elmlee · 28/11/2019 20:51

Hello to all the new posters.

Nice to see some others in the same boat.

It will be a week on Saturday since I stopped my pill 💊

I've been bleeding since Tuesday and was spotting since the Sunday. Unsure of what's going on really. It's all abit confusing 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

How old are we all?

@Shuckle thanks for the reply. I am in Scotland so our school age cuts off at the end of February. So August birthdays up here would be middle of the class birthdays. Yeah id be more than happy with any date! Fingers crossed we get BFP soon 🤞🏼

Shuckle · 26/11/2019 10:57

@Diamond94 probably a mixture of being HUGE in the middle of summer, and also to do with school times - august babies being youngest in class, deciding whether to defer years etc. There is some evidence which suggests summer babies don't perform as well academically as non-summer babies. Even things like your child would be the last in their class to have their 18th birthday, start driving lessons etc might be a consideration!

I reckon there's a lot of factors at play though and an August baby can and in many cases will do just as well in life. Personally I don't mind when they are born, I would just love a healthy baby Smile

Diamond94 · 26/11/2019 10:39

Hey
Can i ask my alot of people dont want an August birth? ☺️

Shuckle · 26/11/2019 10:14

Welcome everyone! Lots of baby dust to you all. Lots of implants and coils removed here, how exciting! Might take a little while for cycles to regulate so try not to get too disheartened if it's not immediate, easier said than done though I know Grin

Looking forward to seeing some BFP's soon x

Jane0510 · 26/11/2019 09:51

Hi, can I join please?

I'm 34 (yesterday!) and DH is 32. We've been married just over a year and I've been on the implant for 9 years and the injection before that. We plan to TTC properly from December because we didn't want an August birth either!

I had my implant out in October although it had expired in August. Had a bleed 3rd Nov but not sure if it was a proper period or just withdrawal. Used OPK's this month and got a positive around 18th which makes sense I guess. I'm due on again at the start of December if all goes to plan, then its all systems go!

Good luck everyone Smile x

JayJ0 · 25/11/2019 22:45

Hi everyone!
Hope you don’t mind me joining :)

Me and Hubby decided to TTC baby no 4 we were adamant we were done at 3 (well he was lol) but after a lot of talking we’ve decided to go for one more to complete our family!

So I had my coil out last Tuesday and before my appointment AF arrived but the nurse was fine to still take it out (phew!) so my period is now finished and it’s time to start trying!!

I’m so excited / nervous I feel like it’s my first time all over again haha!

Just trying not to get my hopes up on getting pregnant straight away.

Sending baby dust to us all!! Xx

Diamond94 · 25/11/2019 22:04
