Hi ladies . I’ve just finished my period today and my husband and I are now going to start ttc our first baby after having my Mirena removed last week.
Is anyone else TTC this month ? I’ve ordered some ovulation tests after I said I wouldn’t because I’ve read so many success stories on them so I thought I might as well just so I have some in case !

I’d love for people to share their journey with me ! I’m 24, 25 in two weeks . So excited for our journey . I’m trying to figure out this whole lingo on here and stuff sorry! X

@LeaBri is he too tired from work? Could you compromise on week night DTD on fertile week? We're only on our 2nd month of ttc, so I'm trying to make it clear that if we seriously want to ttc we have to look at when I'm most fertile.

GaaaaarlicBread · 10/12/2019 21:19

@CurbsideProphet I only work 9-4 so I’m quite lucky but my husband struggles . It’s hard work isn’t it ! But we’ve changed lifestyle up a bit so he’s more relaxed . Like changed our diets etc and added more fun into our lives , hoping it carries on like this lol

@itsemily @Hannahb26 tell me about it! My partner refuses to do week day DTD so that just leaves us weekends which makes me terrified we are going to miss our slot!

@itsEmily we have been trying for 3 months with the month being our third cycle, how about you guys?

CurbsideProphet · 10/12/2019 21:10

We're always too tired in the week, but that will have to change!

GaaaaarlicBread · 10/12/2019 21:05

@Hannahb26 so sorry to hear that . I empathise with the busy husband situ !! This month has been the first one yet where we’ve actually managed to DTD more than before . Can’t say it’s worked as I’m due to ovulate tomorrow I think but it’s really awful when you have such a short time frame to have sex in . 💐

Fuming that AF has arrived but not all together surprised - DH works in politics and has been very busy lately. Anyone else struggling with a very busy other half? We are both so looking forward to being parents but DTD has been such a low priority ☹️

GaaaaarlicBread · 10/12/2019 17:32

@Abbied69er it affects the sperm yes because it’s ‘wasted’ yes

Ladies is anyone following the no giving bj as been told can effect his sperm

notalwaysalondoner · 10/12/2019 13:49

I had the same this month @jemma18 - OPK ICs didn’t show a peak at all. I didn’t use premom (use Femometer) but compared to last month I barely even had a line let alone a clear positive. But my temps went up really really clearly so am pretty sure I ovulated. We’re just DTD every other day from day 7 (on day 19 now) so hope we’ve caught it! Think I’m 6 dpo now - AF due next Tuesday.

@Itsemily we also met as teens - I was 19, he was 18- but I’m 30 now so am very ready for this!!

Finding Christmas season difficult in terms of drinking - don’t want to drink too much in case I’m pregnant/ don’t want to hurt chances of conceiving, but also don’t want to be sober when everyone around me is very tipsy (plus I LOVE wine)! Am trying to just have a couple then move onto soft drinks but it’s tough!

JEMMA18 · 10/12/2019 12:35

@Abbied69ner welcome :) I like your thinking, I bet that was good fun :) it's much more enjoyable when it's got the same fun element to it !

Oh ladies I'm going crazy this month. I use premom to track ov but the internet cheapies this month just arent showing I've oved. The highest ratio I've had is 0.59 and my last peak last month was 2.23. Thing is the test looked positive but when I put it on premom it was a low result. Has anyone ever had this ? I just want to know if I oved or not. I'm on CD 19 now. So confused lol.

Abbied69er · 10/12/2019 11:51

Hi all well last night was amazing for my confidence. Was worrying oh was getting bored of planned sex. So went to Ann summers yesterday and gave him the full works. Suspenders and a sexy miss clause outfit Smile

GaaaaarlicBread · 10/12/2019 07:48

@CurbsideProphet yes we are starting to enjoy it now rather than my husband almost dreading coming back from work 😂😂 but I do think one of the epilepsy meds I was on before lowered my sex drive , looking back, because I was never really in the mood more than maybe once a week and never on a Work night so I think it’s a shock for DH for me to actually be up for it lol

Ah bless him, well at least you’ve enjoyed your life together as a married couple before having children , where you can go out whenever without having to sort a baby sitter out ! That’s what we have with our friends , they always need to sort childcare out.

CurbsideProphet · 09/12/2019 22:16

That's so lovely ItsEmily Smile
I've got 10 years on you, so you definitely have plenty of time to just enjoy ttc for a few months Smile I'm jealous! DH do wish we had met at least when we were a couple of years younger, but life wouldn't be as it is now and we have a lovely life together. Obviously in an ideal world we wouldn't have to work for "the man" and pay a mortgage Xmas Grin

DH is 3 years older than me and really wants us to have a baby before he's 40. He's got a bit of a bee in his bonnet about being "old". It doesn't help that all of his friends have children. Only 2 of my friends are parents and several don't want children at all. We have completely different friendship circles. I see mine for lunch on a Saturday whenever, but he sees his friends when they can get a babysitter.

GaaaaarlicBread · 09/12/2019 18:29

@CurbsideProphet yes we went in our first date when we were just 16! And knew we were ‘meant to be’ ever since ! Then we married this year at 24yo . We both talked about how we wanted to be parents from very early on but knew we wanted to be married and own a house first . All our dreams have come true so far so praying that this baby dream comes true too .

Fingers crossed this is your month 💕💕

@Abbied69er welcome to the chat Abbie, we are all nice here .
My only tips for TTC are :
•Don’t stress, because it not only affects you personally but it puts strain in your partner
•Don’t get into the obsession of doing ovulation predictor kits unless you really need to I.e been trying for more than 6 months or have an irregular cycle
•Be kind to yourself and don’t put too much pressure on yourself
• Have sex for fun not just because you want a baby !

Hi all new on here just come off the pill and me and hubby are looking at ttc in January any suggestions or tips

CurbsideProphet · 09/12/2019 17:29

Fingers crossed for you notalwaysalondoner 🤞🏻

Wow together since teens ItsEmily! We've been together 5 years (recently married), creeping into mid 30s. I finally decided to change my name to DH's. It's quite noticeable, so we have discussed which first names would fit Smile

I'm so hoping for this month, but equally I feel ok if we're still trying in the new year. This month will only be our 2nd cycle of trying, so I keep telling myself it is normal to have to try and not get pregnant just from DTD once.

I'm on CD 5 so we're heading into trying again this weekSmile

@han2291 my cycle moves from 25-28 days, so I would maybe wait another couple of days just in case?

@Readyforthis I've never taken the pill, but I think that once you come off it your cycle can take several months to settle down. I use a free app called Flo to track my periods, so it helps me work out when I'll be ovulating. That might help you?

GaaaaarlicBread · 09/12/2019 16:29

@notalwaysalondoner I can’t wait for you to test !! I reckon you hit the jackpot this month .

This is today’s IC OPK, after the EWCM yesterday I thought I would do another one . It’s definitely darker today than the other day. DH won’t DTD tonight as we ‘did it yesterday’ so I’m not even going to try it on lol but hopefully tomorrow . Do you think I’m due to ovulate soon ?

Ah yes you’re the same as me with a list !! Myself and DH have a name jar , we’ve had it since we first got together as teens lol 🤭💕

That sounds positive @Itsemily - glad he’s more in the mood!

My DH and I haven’t really talked about names yet - didn’t want to overwhelm him as he took a little while to get used to the idea of TTC (and I don’t want him to veto any of my favourite names yet haha). I have a running list in my phone notes that I add to whenever I come across one I like, which helps reassure me I won’t accidentally forget one when we are actually expecting. Do you have a shortlist?

I’m CD18 today, think I’m 5dpo. We’ve DTD every 2 days since CD7 so hope we caught it!

GaaaaarlicBread · 08/12/2019 18:43

@notalwaysalondoner thanks this is deffo the first day I’ve had this , this cycle . It’s been watery which I was documenting on Ovia and funnily enough Ovia notified me and said it’s detected I’m going into my fertile period which I was like ‘meh I doubt it’s accurate’ as my cycle was super long , but it obviously knew ! Just felt my cervix and it’s very very high and soft , what does that mean ?
@LeaBri I totally get that as my Husband is the same , I told him how happy I’ve been with how things are this month since not tracking and he says he is in the mood for it now whereas before he actually dreaded it apparently 😂😂 then he actually came onto me and made the first move this afternoon ! Shocker !! I’m actually excited this month after having a proper period etc , I feel my body is finally up for TTC. Do you ladies have baby name ideas or anything ? Me and DH talk about it a lot.
We’ve managed DTD every 2-3 days this cycle , so I’m really hoping we have definitely given it our all ! We can only hope 💕 how long have you been trying again ?

OP posts:
LeaBri · 08/12/2019 18:37

@Itsemily that’s EWCM for sure!! Just get doing the DTD as much as you can!!
My partner struggles if I put too much pressure when I’m fertile, we only manage to DTD at weekends so I’m hoping we catch the egg!

@Konbanwa congrats so pleased for you!! Any tips you would suggest?

notalwaysalondoner · 08/12/2019 18:01

I would def say that’s EWCM... maybe you already ovulated which is why your LH is dropping so the OPK is not a strong positive? I’d just DTD lots while you have EWCM?

GaaaaarlicBread · 08/12/2019 13:28

I’m confused as I just thought for the sake of it I’d do an Internet cheapie OPK and it’s just come out like this ???
I did a boots one which showed one like and then an IC that is the photo attached
Sorry TMI previous comment

@han2291 I was 4 days later than expected this month Confused but I've got a grotty virus and I think my body realised that I had enough to deal with!

So pleased for you @Konbanwa Flowers
I've only been ttc for 1 month, so I'm sure my time will come like yours has Smile
