Hi ladies . I’ve just finished my period today and my husband and I are now going to start ttc our first baby after having my Mirena removed last week.
Is anyone else TTC this month ? I’ve ordered some ovulation tests after I said I wouldn’t because I’ve read so many success stories on them so I thought I might as well just so I have some in case !

I’d love for people to share their journey with me ! I’m 24, 25 in two weeks . So excited for our journey . I’m trying to figure out this whole lingo on here and stuff sorry! X

Lovely to hear from all of you, thank goodness it's Friday hey!

@han2291 thank you, I think we are all helping each other massively and I am so grateful for this chat!
Definitely keep yourself busy and fingers crossed AF doesn't arrive Monday!
Without tmi, I think I definitely ovulated today as I have had all the symptoms. and man my breasts are so sore! And I feel so sick today but I think part of it was because I had an HR meeting at work (I go back Monday eek!) .
This weekend I have some friends coming over tomorrow for early birthday celebrations for my birthday which is next Friday, and then relaxing Sunday ready for work life again!

@notalwaysalondoner wow what a hard decision! I hope you find the house you're looking for, I am sure you'll make up your mind because you just know when you find the right house. My husband and I viewed 5 houses in the space of a week and we were close to buying our first viewing then we found this one and just knew straight away. Then when we bought it, moved in etc it was like the bloomin' money pit film! Absolute chaos lol! but it's so exciting especially if you're potentially moving out of town!
And to answer your question re: drink. I am not a drinker so I'm no help sorry, because I take Keppra and lamotrigine for epilepsy , you're not supposed to drink so I've never really been one for having a drink (I was diagnosed at 10 so I guess you can't miss something you've never rally had!)
Prep wise though I have cut down on caffeine (again, not a huge caffeine drinker though I'm more decaf!) . Generally looking after myself really. Stress is the big one for me!

@Konbanwa
sending you so many positive vibes!

Ooo one thing I’ve been wanting to ask you guys is what are you doing about drinking while TTC?
I’ve had a bit of a detox and haven’t drunk over the last few weeks, but don’t want to give it up altogether as I won’t be able to have a glass of wine for nine months once we’re successful! I’ve read that one drink every couple of days has no statistical impact on conceiving - what are you guys doing in practice?!

Konbanwa · 11/10/2019 16:23

Hey guys! Still having off and on cramping feelings here even though AF isn't due for another 1.5 weeks. I have no idea what's going on!

Otherwise, I'm meeting up with some friends tomorrow and then going out for a sushi lunch with DH on Sunday. That should keep me busy enough to not be thinking about TTC all the time!

@notalwaysalondoner House viewing is exciting, although it does tend to get boring if you have to do it for a long time. We were viewing houses for 6 months before we bought ours and after the first few it gets frustrating not finding the right house! Hopefully you'll find something that you like in the first round!

notalwaysalondoner · 11/10/2019 15:56

We’re doing some house viewings over the weekend - trying to figure out if we want to stay in London or move to the commuter belt, it’s such a difficult decision! My sister-in-law who lives abroad is over for dinner on Sunday, so that will be great. She’s moving even further away in a couple of weeks so it will be goodbye for a while...

Then I think I will ovulate Wednesday so going to start DTD enthusiastically Sunday onwards!

han2291 · 11/10/2019 13:54

@Itsemily I definitely think trust the Clearblue over the Boots test!! In which case you totally could have DTD in time! Keeping my fingers crossed for you.. and welcome to the 2WW, it's fun hahaha.
Thank you for your positivity, it's much needed. This journey so far is such a rollercoaster of emotions. Doesn't help when the weather is gloomy.

@Niffler1988 that's good news about your cycle though, hopefully it'll be easier to track this month ☺️

My plans for the weekend are to stay as busy as possible and NOT think about TTC/the fact that AF should be coming on Monday 🤞🏼 the cramps have stopped today which is nice because otherwise it's like a constant reminder haha what about you guys?

Rosabuddy · 11/10/2019 13:02

I’m 5/6dpo, have very annoying lower back pain but I do get it from time to time so I don’t know if it’s cause I’m sitting weird or I’m overthinking it! Also cramping/feeling af is coming but it’s not due until 21st! Other than that I feel fine, wish I just knew either way!!

GaaaaarlicBread · 11/10/2019 10:28

Hi ladies . So I think today is the last day now before the two week wait . If my body has ovulated as it should’ve , if not then we are already on the TWW. Who knows . Period is due 25th October so we will see.

How are you all? What are your plans for the weekend ?

@han2291 fingers crossed that you are having early pregnancy signs !! I am so excited for you!! But I feel the same and I'm not even past ovulation yet. Eeeeek I am sending you so many positive vibes. I am having a very emotional day today, so talking to you all helps a lot. I'm so up and down.
And it's peeing it down today outside, and very dark already!

I didn't really click with the new season of 13 reasons, not sure why it was. But I highly recommend watching Working Moms, it's so funny I literally binge watched it. x

Sorry ladies I've been so busy the past few days!! So AF has arrived Bang on time, typical! However, one positive is that my cycle seems to have regulated again so I should be able to track my O better! And looking at it, it doesn't seem like we actually DTD at the right time! How are you all doing?

GaaaaarlicBread · 10/10/2019 15:32

@Konbanwa really?! So because we had intercourse Monday and did by chance ovulate early, I might be OK?
Fingers crossed Hubby has had a good day and we might DTD tonight and fingers crossed we catch it if todays ovulation day or tomorrow. I hate this it's so confusing like, people say clear blue detects 48hrs before ovulation but the other strips say otherwise...

OP posts:
Konbanwa · 10/10/2019 15:21

@Itsemily I don't know what might have been happening with the OPKs, but from my understanding sperm can remain viable in the uterus/tubes for up to 7 days so you should still be good 🤞

GaaaaarlicBread · 10/10/2019 14:55

Something I’m really confused on is last night I got a solid smiley on clear blue , which I think means I’m due to ovulate the next 12-24 hours or something but I’ve just done a simple dip test from boots and it’s not showing anything at all ??? I’m so confused and sad if I’ve missed it but if I happened to have ovulated yesterday we did DTD Monday so would I have caught it ?? I’m so confused 😩😩

@Konbanwa I'm keeping everything crossed but I don't know.. I'm such a negative person that I have it in my head that I will just never get pregnant (I know, SO negative) so I don't truly believe it will ever happen to me, which is really sad when I think about it. If I let myself believe I could for just a second I get too excited and know I'm just setting myself up for disappointment 🙁

Konbanwa · 10/10/2019 13:13

@han2291 Your symptoms seem like those that some people say can be a sign of early pregnancy! That's so exciting! Fingers crossed for when you test!

han2291 · 10/10/2019 12:36

@Konbanwa yes there's definitely a lot of Asian dramas, I saw a Korean one that looked good but in the evening after I've been staring at a computer screen the idea of reading sub titles puts me off haha.
Not heard of either of those but I'll check them out! I love a good cooking show ☺️
That's awesome, love that he knows what he's talking about!

Konbanwa · 10/10/2019 12:24

@han2291 I bet HK Netflix is amazing though! I love Korean and Chinese dramas so I'm sure you have loads of choice!

In regards to other Netflix shows, I quite like the cooking ones like Sugar Rush and Nailed It. They are good for a laugh!

And yes, my DH surprised me with all his research although he is very scientifically minded so was also talking about oestrogen and progesterone curves! Ha!

han2291 · 10/10/2019 12:18

@Konbanwa that's awesome and so good that he's done some of his own research! I mentioned my cramps today to husband and he said "but that could also be implantation right?" 😂 I was like whaaaa??

Thanks for the article, will definitely have a read.

han2291 · 10/10/2019 12:15

@notalwaysalondoner welcome!! And it's NEVER too late to jump onto the gossip girl train 😂

@Itsemily ah I'm sorry 🙁 there's always next month and you never know, you might still catch it in time anyway!

@Konbanwa same, it's tricky to figure out what normal symptoms are supposed to be after not having any for so long. I'm on my 3rd day now of on and off cramps.. they feel like very mild period cramps but I don't feel bloated (yet, still 4 days until AF) and this may be TMI so I'm sorry in advance haha but this evening my underwear feels damp.. I keep dashing off to the loo to check but there's no bleeding just a lot of white CM 🤷🏻‍♀️ I didn't feel this way my last 2 cycles but who knows if this is also just another "new" PMS symptom for me. I don't want to pick up on everything but I literally can't switch my brain off.

On a lighter note, since I can't get English TV here Netflix is my best friend! I just finished the 3rd season of 13 Reasons Why so now I'm in a bit of limbo deciding what to watch next.. give me your suggestions 😁

Konbanwa · 10/10/2019 12:03

@itsheapsswell Welcome to the group and good luck on your TTC journey!

@notalwaysalondoner I've never watched Gossip Girl but have heard good things about it!

I had a good chat with my DH last night about TTC and he was really helpful and reassuring about being just as fully on board and excited as I am. It made me feel so much better and less stressed about the whole thing. Especially as he showed me how much research he had also been doing!

Something that I found referenced in another thread, and had a read through last night, was the SMEP (sperm meets egg plan) method. It sounds really good so if I get a BFN this month we might try that for November (maybe with or without the OPKs!)

spermmeetseggplan.com

notalwaysalondoner · 10/10/2019 11:31

Welcome @itsheapsswell!

My DH seems happy to talk about the dates, but it's only month 1 so we'll see whether it puts the pressure on or not! What days pre- and post- ovulation are you planning to DTD? I understand you are recommended to do it every other day to boost the sperm count, but is that on Ovulation minus 2, then on Ovulation day, then 2 days after? Or is ovulation -3, -1 and +1 better...? Any evidence?

@Konbanwa, I'm working pretty late right now so typically get home between 1930 and 2130, but in the couple of hours I have I have recently got very into Gossip Girl (ten years after the rest of the world haha). Meeting my mum and sister tonight who are up in the big city which will be great - my parents live 3 hours away and I wish I could see more of them. We're starting to househunt and I'd love to move more in their direction (west of London) but we'd still need to commute so 1.5 hours is probably the closest we'll be for the time being :(

Konbanwa · 09/10/2019 20:35

@BubbleBathLover I know what you mean. I'm having the same issue here and I'm trying not to make my DH feel pressured or bored with talking about it!

itsheapsswell · 09/10/2019 20:34

Hi all. I’m 24 and live in the countryside- this our first cycle trying after getting the copper coil out but I’m 99% sure we’ve missed our window this month. My period is due in 4-7 days so we will see...

BubbleBathLover · 09/10/2019 20:31

I am trying not to show my husband how much I’m obsessing/stressing over it because I don’t want him to feel the same. I keep telling myself that it will happen when it happens!

GaaaaarlicBread · 09/10/2019 18:54

@bubblebathlover well my husband has just come back from work saying he’s so tired that he won’t be up to anything tonight (I told him to make sure he tells me if he doesn’t want anything) so we’re not like planning but it let’s me know not to make the first move lol
I think we will end up missing it this month :(
