Hi ladies . I’ve just finished my period today and my husband and I are now going to start ttc our first baby after having my Mirena removed last week.
Is anyone else TTC this month ? I’ve ordered some ovulation tests after I said I wouldn’t because I’ve read so many success stories on them so I thought I might as well just so I have some in case !

I’d love for people to share their journey with me ! I’m 24, 25 in two weeks . So excited for our journey . I’m trying to figure out this whole lingo on here and stuff sorry! X

@notalwaysalondoner I did need a pad, even though it was light. Damnit haha I just don't want to count it as day 1 because then it means my cycle was 26 days and I only had 10 days between ovulation and AF 😭 which isn't great. Who am I kidding.. I'll mark it as day 1.

@Itsemily from what I see online people feel symptoms as soon as 3/4 DPO so who knows, you could just be really sensitive to it 🤞🏼 and my periods used to be exactly the same.. I remember standing up after class at school and it was insane haha don't even talk about sneezing!!!

@Konbanwa how are you feeling?

@Kona84 welcome to the chat ☺️ hoping for good news from you in the next few days but if not, I just started using OPKs for this cycle and I'm on day 4, AF finished yesterday. I have the cheap ones off Amazon so I don't care about using 1 or 2 (if needed) per day!

GaaaaarlicBread · 17/10/2019 07:37

@Kona84 welcome ! Thank you for joining and thank you for sharing your start of trying to conceive journey .

Not sure about the morning after pill thing but ovulation wise, I start testing 4 days after my period , using my clear blue kit as for me it’s easier to read as it’s either an empty circle , flashing smiley face or static smiley face .
Hope that makes sense

I will add that my last morning after may have actually been about 6 years ago prob about 2013/14. I’ve heard it can affect conception later but I may be wrong

Kona84 · 16/10/2019 22:38

Hi can I join please...
I am 35 first month of trying.
Been with my partner 16 years and in that time we have never had a pregnancy scare.
I have used the morning after pill on 2 occasions. Last one maybe 3 years ago.

I came off the pill about 4 years ago with the tag line of it happens it happens. Needless to say it’s not happened.
So this month is my first month actually trying... I’ve logged my period on Ovia for last 6 months and average 29-30 days.
My fertile period always seems to fall between cycle day 13 and 19 but I don’t know when I ovulate.
We dtd on cycle day 10 and 18 (I was working away) and I’m currently on day 28. Tensions are high and I’m symptom spotting like crazy. I took a test on day 24 and again today both negative.
If I’m not successful this month I will test for ovulation next cycle.

So if you read all that thank you but my question is: what day should I start testing for ovulation?

Konbanwa · 16/10/2019 22:01

@Itsemily I've not had any bloating but have had cramping all week! Still have 5 days until AF though...😓

GaaaaarlicBread · 16/10/2019 21:19

I have really bad lower tummy bloating today - all day !! Have you had that ? I’m not even a week over ovulation yet !! Surely it can’t be a sign ??

Konbanwa · 16/10/2019 20:35

@Itsemily Mine used to be exactly the same but now seem to be much lighter. I don't know if it's because I'm older or just a side effect of the pill.

@han2291 I really hope that these symptoms mean something but I'm not sure that they will.

Hope that you all have had a good week so far! This TWW is an absolute killer!

GaaaaarlicBread · 16/10/2019 10:09

@han2291 mine always comes in the morning, when I was younger it would literally flow out Of me 😂😂 it was horrible . And when I had my coil out last month, it started in the morning again but fairly light. So I can’t help sorry , like Londoner said , I’m sure as long as you’re consistent with noting it every month then I’m sure it doesn’t really matter xx

OP posts:
notalwaysalondoner · 16/10/2019 09:59

Mine is always super light when it starts (don’t even need a pad) so I never count that day and start on the first proper flow day. I think if you’re consistent it’s fine.

han2291 · 16/10/2019 01:24

I just remembered I had a question I wanted to ask.. when AF started on Sunday it was around 5pm but I was hesitant to mark it as CD1. I did some reading online and apparently it you start after 4pm you can consider the NEXT day as 1, but what would you girls do?

han2291 · 16/10/2019 01:22

@Konbanwa @Itsemily thanks ladies ☺️ pains have stopped now.. since coming off the pill I seem to have 3 day periods which is quite nice, so it should be easing up today.

@Itsemily the urge to test will only get stronger haha resist!!! Really hope it's good news for you when the time comes though 🤞🏼

@Konbanwa from what I've read though it's totally normal to feel like AF is coming but it just never does.. I hope it doesn't!

@notalwaysalondoner that's true, thanks for the pep talk I needed that ☺️ fingers crossed for you starting the 2WW too!

GaaaaarlicBread · 15/10/2019 21:28

@Konbanwa I hope you’re wrong and that it’s good cramping :(

OP posts:
Konbanwa · 15/10/2019 18:54

@notalwaysalondoner Fingers crossed that you manage to catch this month! 🤞

I'm still having off and on cramping, and it's making me feel like AF might come early this month ☹️

GaaaaarlicBread · 15/10/2019 15:22

@han2291 You have good self control, I would have eaten the whole lot haha! I hope your AF eases soon.
I am feeling quite sick but apparently UTI's can make you feel sick sometimes, but the UTI symptoms have gone today so the antibiotics have kicked in nicely. They're making me feel tired but generally I feel OK. I just can't stop thinking about testing next week! Literally on day what...4dpo??? And I am already dying lol!

@notalwaysalondoner fingers crossed!!

notalwaysalondoner · 15/10/2019 14:52

@han2291 sorry that this month wasn’t your month, I think it’s really important to be kind to yourself and allow yourself to feel disappointment to then be able to move on. If you suppress it, it won’t be good for anyone in the long term. Enjoy the ice cream!
My temps are still low but previous temping suggested there’ll be a spike tomorrow or Thursday so planning to DTD today and tomorrow. Had to work late last night (didn’t get home until 2230...) so neither of us was in the mood. Then it will be on to the TWW...

Konbanwa · 15/10/2019 14:52

@han2291 I am impressed with your restraint! At least half of that tub would have gone if I'd been having it 😂 Especially if it was due to AF cramps from hell!

I'm feeling ok today. Just normal which is throwing me off a little. Still trying to be good and not symptom spot too much!

Hope that you start feeling better soon and that AF eases off 🤞

han2291 · 15/10/2019 14:18

@Konbanwa my husband is away on business for the next few days (yes I persuaded him to plan it while AF was here 😂) and tonight I wasn't particularly hungry so I had 1/4 tub of ben&jerrys.. I realise that's totally unhealthy but I've been having period cramps from hell and have allowed myself an evening to mope about the fact that last month wasn't our month, which had to involve ice cream!
How are you feeling today?

@Itsemily how are you feeling? Are the antibiotics still making you feel worse? Hope you're on the mend!

Konbanwa · 14/10/2019 20:36

@Itsemily OMG I am stuffed! 😂 Was going to do leftovers for lunch tomorrow but there was way too much left so we are having it for tea again tomorrow. Should make a nice easy meal after the gym 👍

Glad yours went down well! Roast dinner is the best!

GaaaaarlicBread · 14/10/2019 19:49

@Konbanwa 💚💚💚

Funny you should say that, I made a roast as well and my husband was very happy . He now has some leftovers for work tomorrow and if he gets called out to work! So very happy Hubby haha. I hope yours went down well x

Konbanwa · 14/10/2019 18:42

@Itsemily Yes we seem to be having never ending rain here. It feels like it's been raining constantly for weeks!

I've got my fingers crossed too but I'm sure we have missed it this month and that these symptoms are just my body continuing to recover from the pill 😓

So hard not to symptom spot on every twinge though!

I'm making a roast chicken dinner tonight which should at least warm and cheer me up! What's everyone else having for tea?

GaaaaarlicBread · 14/10/2019 17:05

@Konbanwa got everything crossed for you my end!
It's horrible isn't it?! Now I just feel so so sick from the first antibiotic ! Or is it the infection making me sick? Thank goodness I'm off tomorrow!
My day has been ok though, done a lot of running around-food shopping, visiting in-laws etc. It's also peeing it down here! Have you got rain? x

Also I have no idea what happened with the formatting of my last message!

How has everyone's Monday going?

Konbanwa · 14/10/2019 15:05

@Itsemily @han2291 Thanks guys! AF is due next Monday so we'll see 🤞 I'm not confident though! Definitely going to test at the weekend though if AF isn't early! 😂

Hope that you managed to get sorted out at the doctors @Itsemily.

UTIs are awful! The last water infection I had ended up with me awake all night in pain and I was terrified to go to the loo! It makes you desperate to go but bricking it at the same time! 😬

GaaaaarlicBread · 14/10/2019 14:10

@Konbanwa @han2291 thanks girls , I’m just sat in the surgery now waiting patiently . Thank goodness I’m on an early finish today . Never cried so much going for a wee in my whole life 😂😂

Eeeek I can’t wait for you to test I’m really hoping it’s positive !! I keep getting excited when I think about testing in two weeks but equally don’t want to get my hopes up either 😩
I’m so excited for you though 💕💕
