Hi ladies . I’ve just finished my period today and my husband and I are now going to start ttc our first baby after having my Mirena removed last week.
Is anyone else TTC this month ? I’ve ordered some ovulation tests after I said I wouldn’t because I’ve read so many success stories on them so I thought I might as well just so I have some in case !

I’d love for people to share their journey with me ! I’m 24, 25 in two weeks . So excited for our journey . I’m trying to figure out this whole lingo on here and stuff sorry! X

@Itsemily I love that you're trying to blame back pain on the cold haha I hope you have a busy week to get your mind off it! You need a good TV show to binge on in the evenings 😁

@notalwaysalondoner none of my friends have babies yet but my best friend is pregnant and due in February. We always used to talk about our kids growing up together so every month now she's like "are you pregnant yet" haha I know it's light hearted but it's a bit of added pressure!

@Konbanwa board games sound like my kind of night too (though my husband and I can never play Monopoly because we're both too competitive 😂). Sorry you're cramping so badly, hope the paracetamol helps ease it and you can have a relaxing day.

Konbanwa · 20/10/2019 11:28

@Itsemily Your symptoms definitely sound like it could be something! So exciting! When are you due to test? Fingers crossed for you!

I'm having quite bad cramping today so AF is definitely on the way. Had to take some paracetamol this morning to take the edge off!

@notalwaysalondoner I'm not the first in my friend group to have kids, but not that many of them do. It's quite funny when we all meet up though because what used to be a late night drinking session is now food and an early night! 😂 Gotta love your 30s!

I'm definitely over the late nights, drinking and partying though. Haven't been interested in that since my mid 20s and now I'm happy with a meal and a good catch up (maybe a board game or two as well!). Now we're ready to add being parents into that mix too!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

GaaaaarlicBread · 20/10/2019 11:15

@han2291 never ever had this in my life ! So I’m really hoping it’s a good sign and not PMS. I’m not due til next Friday , so I’m really having to keep a positive mindset and not symptom spot and avoid the urge to test too early ! It’s horrible . I’m also having back pain today which isn’t normal for me but equally is it because it’s cold up north and I’m not used to it 😂😂

@notalwaysalondoner I totally get that . It’s hard isn’t it . It really hits you ! I have four super close friends who have children , and about 3 friends who are still good friends but I don’t see them loads , who have them . I’m friends with people older than me generally so I’m a way it’s kind of the norm for me to be the ‘odd’ one out as it were . As there are some big age gaps x

That sounds hopeful @Itsemily!! Fingers crossed!

We had a thirtieth birthday gathering in a pub yesterday for some friends who have a four month old. We had to go early as we already had evening plans, and everyone else there also had children. It’s the first time we’ve really been in that kind of social situation before (none of our close friends except one have children) and it just made me realise how ready I am for the next chapter! It’s funny how your perception of “normal” is so influenced by your peer group - including even when the “right” time is to have children! Do you guys have lots of close friends with children, or are you more the trailblazers of your peer group?

han2291 · 20/10/2019 10:04

@Itsemily is that a normal PMS symptom for you? Sounds hopeful ☺️ but also I'm sorry they hurt, that's never nice! Glad you had a lovely weekend.

GaaaaarlicBread · 20/10/2019 10:00

Thanks girls ! I had a nice day . Just on my way back from Hull now after a weekend away with my friends .

I have such sore boobs ! Started last night , like the actual boob not the nipples (they’ve been sensitive for a few days now), but my breasts kill ! Like super sore ! @Konbanwa you still have a chance , some pregnancies don’t pick up til like a week after a missed period !

OP posts:
han2291 · 19/10/2019 08:19

@Konbanwa you might have tested too early! If AF isn't due until tomorrow you definitely still have a chance, don't give up yet ☺️ hope the rain eases up and you can get out of the house and do something lovely today to get your mind off it.

Konbanwa · 19/10/2019 08:04

Hey guys! Took a test early this morning and it was a BFN as I suspected.

Kind of a bit gutted but will just have to wait for AF to show up tomorrow and then start again next month. Keep thinking about those silver linings...

Hope you all have good plans for the weekend! I'm hoping that it doesn't rain too much because I need to do so much work in the garden!

han2291 · 19/10/2019 08:02

@Itsemily happy birthday!! Hope you're enjoying celebrating ☺️ those definitely sound like early pregnancy symptoms, especially the constipation from what I've read (lovely haha) and boob changes! Keeping everything crossed for you.

@Konbanwa hoping that AF hasn't shown up!

@LeaBri welcome to the chat ☺️ the more people we have to symptom spot with the better!

@notalwaysalondoner I'd been wondering about tracking my temperature but I wasn't able to get one in time for this cycle so if this one isn't successful I might start that.. I see a lot of people say it's easier to track than using OPK's but there's something quite satisfying about watching the line get darker! I'm in the O boat with you, I got my LH surge on CD17 of a 27 day cycle last month.. hoping our hormones are still just sorting themselves out.

GaaaaarlicBread · 18/10/2019 20:40

@LeaBri thank you that has made me feel more hopeful. I have noticed a change in my breasts too , not sure if that is a sign this early? No spotting here either, I have had odd cramps today though. I don't get pre AF cramps so it can't be that. DH has told me to not test before my period is due. I was gonna test like two days before (I am due next Friday!), but I will listen to him and wait lol. So so anxious and dying to tell a friend but I just can't lol! But you are all friends now anyway (in my eyes!) xx

OP posts:
LeaBri · 18/10/2019 20:18

Hi @Itsemily! Aw it sounds like you still have the early signs too though, I guess we are all different and no one size fits all! I haven’t had any spotting or anything though. When do you plan to test? Fingers crossed for you! How exciting Grin
It is really hard not to get all excited about with your partner and talk about it all the time, especially when you think you see symptoms!

GaaaaarlicBread · 18/10/2019 19:01

@leabri hey girl ! Welcome ! Same as me , I haven’t told anyone and it’s killing me lol
Fingers crossed for you !! Sounds promising !
I’ve not had lower back pain which is what is making me worry about a negative 👎🏻 I have had terrible nausea today , and also constipation on and off and also sore nipples but not as bad as I’ve read - some women say they can hardly go near their nipples . So I’m worried my symptoms are nothing :(

OP posts:
LeaBri · 18/10/2019 17:19

Hi ladies!
Hope you don’t mind me joining, I am 30 and TTC this is our first month! Currently on the dreaded TWW! I haven’t told a soul and the suspense is killing me! So I thought I would speak to you so we can all go through it together Grin
My AF is due next Wednesday and we want to test next week, I’m scared I’ll come on and it will be a negative result! Had quite a few lower back pains that come and go, cramps and nipple sensitivity which I don’t really get so I’m really hoping!
Has anyone else had quite a bit of lower back pain? Xx

GaaaaarlicBread · 18/10/2019 16:14

@Konbanwa eeeek I’m away in Hull this weekend so I won’t be able to check here !! I hope it’s a positive for you ! So sweet that DH wants to do it with you .
If you wake up for an early wee , do it in a little cup and save til you wake up again. Save you testing at like 3am lol !

Had a lovely day thank you ! X

Konbanwa · 18/10/2019 12:50

Hey guys! I'm having a few twinges today so think AF might be on the way...

Fingers crossed it doesn't show up!

@Itsemily Hope you have a great birthday!

notalwaysalondoner · 18/10/2019 11:29

@Konbanwa that’s so exciting you’ll be testing tomorrow! Fingers crossed for you!

notalwaysalondoner · 18/10/2019 10:28

Well I’m baffled with my temperatures because the other two months that I temped earlier this year I had a clear spike after ovulation on day 12, but now we’re on day 14 and still very low temperature. Not sure if I just haven’t ovulated yet or the temp is wrong... guess we’ll just keep DTD every other day until it’s obvious...?! Am a bit annoyed as it was so clear the other months and now am worried maybe I just haven’t ovulated at all this month. My cycles are 25-26 days so the later I ovulate the shorter the luteal phase and less likely it is we conceived. Will just have to wait and see and hope I guess. Next month I’m definitely doing OPKs to take the uncertainty away!

Konbanwa · 17/10/2019 22:04

@Itsemily Eeeek! 25 tomorrow! Hope you have an amazing day!

I'm also trying not to symptom spot too much but have convinced myself it's going to be a negative anyway. Still doesn't stop me wanted to test to definitely make sure...ha!

I mentioned to DH that I might test tomorrow but he doesn't want me to do it because he is away and back on Saturday. He said he wants to be there when I read the results just in case it is a positive which I thought was so sweet!

So Saturday it is as long I don't go for an early wee half asleep and miss my FMU 😂

GaaaaarlicBread · 17/10/2019 19:04

@Konbanwa that’s what I’m wanting to do ,part of me wants to test early (Wednesday/ Thursday next week) but I know I’ll torment myself if it’s negative so would rather wait for you hen period is due. Tests are so expensive as well lol

I can’t stop symptom spotting . I hope next week goes as quick as this week has. I’m 25 tomorrow ! 😬😬

@Itsemily That sounds like it was awful! Mine were always heavy but the night time pass were usually enough as long I changed them every 4 hours. That wasn't so great for at night though!

Since coming off the pill my periods have been much lighter though 🙌

I have recounted my days and last month my cycle was 27 days, which means I should anticipate AF to arrive this Sunday if everything is still the same! (Although it probably won't be with my luck..)

I'm so tempted to test tomorrow but don't want to jump the gun and waste a test.

GaaaaarlicBread · 17/10/2019 12:19

@Konbanwa my mum, sister , and two of my best friends get away with wearing liners for their whole period - although mums starting the menopause now so doesn’t really have anything but I hated it growing up. Especially in PE at school! Absolutely horrific ! I , at one point , had to wear an actual nappy to bed ! It was that bad !

Glad you’re still feeling ok ish !

OP posts:
Konbanwa · 17/10/2019 10:10

@Itsemily I had exactly the same type of periods when I was younger. I had to wear nighttime pads throughout my whole period because any others wouldn't last two minutes! The flooding feeling when you stood up or laughed was awful!

I was always very jealous of those women who only had minimal bleeding and could get away with just a panty liner for 1-2 days!

Konbanwa · 17/10/2019 09:41

@han2291 I'm feeling good thanks! Still the same as usual here.

@Kona84 Welcome to the group! In regards to testing I'm not sure when would be best, but if this cycle isn't successful for us we are going to try using the SMEP for the next cycle.

spermmeetseggplan.com

I like how it seems to maximise chances of catching ovulation and also has a nice timetable to follow! Ha! Definitely keeping the passion alive for DH...not! 😂

@Itsemily I hope that you start to feel better after your antibiotics and fingers crossed for you this cycle! 🤞

GaaaaarlicBread · 17/10/2019 08:30

@han2291 omg you’re so relatable !! I remember telling my friend in school way back in the olden days (lol!) That when I stood up it felt like a huge waterfall between my legs and when I sneezed or coughed hard it had the same effect , and she was like ew that’s gross . So I never dared ask if it was normal ! The coil changed my life ! I reckon hormones as a teen played a huge part in it.
I hope you’re right symptom wise , I’ve been really uncomfortable . I finished my antibiotics now so we will see if symptoms carry on ! Then we’ll know if it was the infection and meds ! X

@Kona84 just checked my box of tests and as a guide they suggest testing from day 13/14 of your cycle if it's 29/30 days long ☺️
