Hi ladies . I’ve just finished my period today and my husband and I are now going to start ttc our first baby after having my Mirena removed last week.
Is anyone else TTC this month ? I’ve ordered some ovulation tests after I said I wouldn’t because I’ve read so many success stories on them so I thought I might as well just so I have some in case !

I’d love for people to share their journey with me ! I’m 24, 25 in two weeks . So excited for our journey . I’m trying to figure out this whole lingo on here and stuff sorry! X

Hi @Konbanwa I agree this thread is so reassuring.
I'm 9dpo and don't have any symptoms, so I'm expecting AF as normal on Monday.

Konbanwa · 26/11/2019 10:43

Hey guys! I hope that everyone is doing ok and sorry for being offline for a bit! I've been travelling with work so haven't been able to chat much.

As a quick update, I'm currently on cd20 and so kind of in the TWW. I used some OPKs at the weekend and saw the decline in my LH levels so I have definitely ovulated this month but I'm not sure if it was when I was in the country for us to catch it!

I think I'm probably out this month due to working away but we'll see! 🤞

@notalwaysalondoner I agree that this group is helpful in seeing how long it can take people to TTC and I find it very reassuring! Especially as life seems to keep getting in the way for me!

notalwaysalondoner · 26/11/2019 10:28

@Jonesbabynumber1 I know, it’s tough - I was quite chirpy during cycle 2 but now I’m onto cycle 3 I’m starting to get a bit sad/frustrated/worried... I know it’s still early in the scheme of things but it’s just hard not knowing how long it will take. It’s been so helpful having all you ladies to talk to and to realise everyone else doesn’t get BFPs instantly either! I actually think people should talk more about how long it takes them to conceive - you tend to only hear about people when they have fertility issues, which gives the impression everyone else gets pregnant in month one!

Jonesbabynumber1 · 26/11/2019 08:47

I was due on yesterday IC still negative still no AF if I haven’t come on by tomorrow I’ll do a frer Thursday. It’s had to keep hopeful. I’ve been a moody cow so I expect AF to come.

Jonesbabynumber1 · 25/11/2019 15:10

@thorn19 thank you for that information yes I had internal ultra scan which they said was normal. I’m going to keep temping to see if I can get an understanding of my cycles if they still up and down I’ll go to gp. I think I find temping hard because I have restless nights which apparently can affect the temps. I’d love to try that ovusense but only being 3 cycles in I’ll leave it and see how I get on before spending out a lot of money. I wish I started tracking before trying to conceive but that be my advise to anyone get to know your body even if your not trying to get pregnant. Fingers crossed for baby dust.

Thorn19 · 25/11/2019 14:09

@Jonesbabynumber1 you should consider going back and getting more tests. I had an internal and external scan that was showing cysts as I mentioned before irregular periods acne (which I'd never had before) and dark hairs in unusual places on my chest and chin. I had blood and they are within range. I notice some months are worse and better than others. Prior to taking the pill in January I had not been on contreception for 5 years I wasnt trying to get pregnant but I didnt do anything to prevent it either. My gp suggested a fertility referral but I wanted to try on my own properly first. I know they can give u medication called clomid not sure how effective it is.
Just wanted to give u an insight to my journey see if u can relate. But dont be to hard on yourself I'm sure you're doing everything you can. 🤞🏼 x

Jonesbabynumber1 · 25/11/2019 13:47

@thorn19 this is my 3rd cycle but feels like forever. I question if I have PCOS because of a few symptoms but I’m hoping temps help me understand it a bit more. I had an ultra scan but they just said everything’s fine. Do they advise you to do anything different when trying to conceive with PCOS or give and medication?

Thorn19 · 25/11/2019 13:31

@Jonesbabynumber1 it's so frustrating isn't it. Your doing the right thing just to make sure you're covered. How long have u been trying for ?

It's only this cycle I've actually learnt so much about my period and my body. But with me having PCOS I just hope I actually ovulate after my LH Surge I would be very disappointed if I didnt. X

Thorn19 · 25/11/2019 13:28

@notalwaysalondoner sorry if I haven't made much sense I'm trying to shop as well as type 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

Thorn19 · 25/11/2019 13:26

@notalwaysalondoner thanks for replying.. I've been temping too since day one of my period which was 15/11 my temp was 36.4 most days the dropped to around 36.2 and has been that that for a few days. So with my peak LH surge being yesterday tried again before anf it now says Hi so hopefully I'll ovulate today or tomorrow and hope I'll see and increase in my temp. I was presenting symptoms of PCOS so last December my gp sent t me for tests that showed cysts and irregular periods hair growth so suggested mcrogynon started that in Jan and then stopped in july this year. So last month was my first proper month trying.

How are you getting on in your journey ? Xx

gemgem1404 · 25/11/2019 11:47

Yeh we must ovulate later when the cycle is longer because I was under the impression the luteal phase is pretty set in stone 🤔 the other explanation for it being a bit longer would maybe be a chemical pregnancy that didn't take so the hcg would be to low for pregnancy tests. They're my thoughts. I've bought the Clearblue ovulation tests for this month see if that helps me and DP to conceive 😊

Jonesbabynumber1 · 25/11/2019 11:23

@Thorn19 yes my high LH was around day 12 but my temps are saying ovulation happened cycle day 19 which is a lot later. It’s so work out when ovulation happens. I just try and bd a least every 3 days throughout cycle

notalwaysalondoner · 25/11/2019 11:06

Welcome @thorn19

I’d maybe try temping as well - my understanding is LH rises before ovulation and temperature right after, so that should tell you if you have actually ovulated rather than just having a LH surge and not ovulating. From what I’ve read most women are pretty standard in having 14 days between ovulation and period, it’s the first part of the cycle that tends to vary much more. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have exceptions! Have you been on hormonal contraceptives until recently, that often takes several months to settle down?

Thorn19 · 25/11/2019 10:41

Hi @Jonesbabynumber1 my cycle is normally 31-35 days and I have my LH surge about 10days after my period started.. however my apps I use tell me I ovulate about 17 days into my cycle. It's so hard to be accurate isnt it.. my body never has 2 months the same xx

Thorn19 · 25/11/2019 10:35

Hi everyone hope you dont mind me joining this group. I'm 31 second month TTC. Only just getting to know my cycle properly. I tested using ovulation kits last month and nothing used them this month and turns out my LH surge is a few days after my period ends. I had a peak last night tested again today and its negative. Anyone else had similar? Xx

Jonesbabynumber1 · 25/11/2019 10:30

These ones.. my temp dropped this morning so I’m waiting for AF to arrive. If it doesn’t come next few days I’ll use my last frer. I don’t think I’d by the IC again as made me a bit of an poas addict

notalwaysalondoner · 25/11/2019 09:29

Which internet cheapies do you guys use? Lots of the ones on amazon don’t have great reviews so not sure which to buy...

Jonesbabynumber1 · 24/11/2019 19:59

Do you think when you have a longer cycle there’s a chance you ovulated later so your body goes on for longer. Just a thought. My AF due in next two days so waiting to see what happens but been having BFN on IC. I do have a frer left but think I’ll just wait to see what happens. Sorry to hear those who have had af arrive but Imagine getting for BFP near Christmas what a present 🎁

notalwaysalondoner · 24/11/2019 16:36

Gah it’s the exact same with me guys, except AF arrived on Friday when I was only CD 22, which has never happened before - normally 25-27 days for me! It’s so frustrating, just as you need your body to be as predictable as possible it starts messing you about! I was hoping it was implantation at first as it was so light but it’s been three days now so definitely not. Hope it’s a one off as the luteal phase will be too short otherwise (was only 9dpo). Onto the next cycle.
It’s hard as I spent the weekend with a friend who is 20 weeks pregnant who always never ever wanted children until she changed her mind pretty recently, and it’s strange to me that she’s the one who is going to have a baby first when I’m the one who has always had it as a big life priority. Funny how things turn out!

CurbsideProphet · 24/11/2019 11:49

It's hard isn't it @LeaBri Try to be kind to yourself and settle down on the sofa with a hot water bottle.

I'm 7dpo and don't feel any symptoms, so I'm fully expecting AF as normal next week.

LeaBri · 24/11/2019 10:43

@gemgem1404 @Itsemily don’t worry ladies this happened to me last month too, my cycle was 33 days which is unheard of for me and now back to 28 days this month Confused I really do think it’s the stress and worry of TTC! Also has anyone noticed the prenatal vitamins extended their cycles?
P.s I’m out, got my AF this morning, tried to be more relaxed this month about it but still gutted Sad

gemgem1404 · 24/11/2019 10:11

@Itsemily omg my cycle went to 35 days as well this month 😅. Feel like ttc messes with our bodies 🙈 on to the next cycle lots of baby dust 😊

GaaaaarlicBread · 24/11/2019 07:14

@Itsemily hope you get your BFP soon xx

So my AF was super late last month I often get it at beginning of each month but I didn't last month... this month it came on the 9th-11th and I'm a light flow and I don't cramp at all.. I decided to randomly do an OPK on CD 11 and it was positive but DP was away for work so it was a waste but we DTD on CD 8... Yesterday I had cramping on my lower right side and some nausea... today I woke up with brown discharge on my pantyliner and cramping and nausea continued... There's been pink every time I wipe when I go pee and I'm peeing waaaay too many times than I normally do :( and no appetite whatsoever... I'm currently only 4 DPO so think I'm just symptom spotting...

Sprinkling babydust to you all xx*
