@Skygirl1983 I'm in the same boat as you! Husband was working night shifts and I work 9-5 so totally missed the fertile window. Managed to DTD once on OV day.
Small glimmer of a chance but trying not to keep my hopes up.

Skygirl1983 · 21/10/2019 13:13

Teebagg I feel the same this month I'm not even stressing about testing early or anything! I was working away during my fertile week and dtd on the day I OV. So I have only done it once! I'm gutted as I know deep down it wont have been enough. But small hope still remains as it's true that is only takes once for it to happen.

TeeBagg · 21/10/2019 12:47

I'm feeling annoyed today because I don't think I dtd enough when I should have. I had ewcm on Monday and Tuesday, app said ov day was Wednesday. We dtd Mon and Wed. DH wanted to dtd again on the weekend but I have such a very very low sex drive I didn't want to. Regretting it now though! I know that once is enough in theory but I feel like I'm not exactly helping my chances :(

GeminiCancer · 21/10/2019 11:33

Hi ladies. Can I jump on this thread?
Due AF on November 2nd.
Had EWCM on day of ovulation and DTD the night before O day very late.
Looking at my flo calender, do you ladies think I'm in with a chance this month?
First time tracking TTC.
Good luck everybody. X

@Nic555 yes sounds positive. I tested again last night and the test line was fainter but then again this morning and it was pretty much the same colour as the control line! So I'm definitely surging! I've read that ICs and CB test slightly different things as well/work in different ways. The ICs definitely don't work if you aren't surging (I've used them long enough to know 😂😭) so I'd say you deffo surged & egg is on the way!

Plaw · 21/10/2019 09:11

@Nic555 hopefully this is your month!! I’ve heard of some people dtd once or twice and getting pregnant so you never know.

Thinking I’m going to test this weekend. Going to pic up a FR one I think as from my research they seem to be the best?

I can’t get the feeling that I wouldn’t be that lucky on my first month of tcc but we shall see! Can’t concentrate in work sometimes thinking about it all.

HugeAgeGap · 21/10/2019 08:07

Can’t help with the flashing lights as only used the cheap ones which have worked so far. Does anyone combine this with charting? This is the first month I have which has been quite interesting to compare the surge with the temps. I think I’m about 5dpo today, so quite a wait to test!

MeganMama28 · 21/10/2019 07:44

@Nic555 still just testing with FMU with the CB OPKs but also checking in the afternoon with amazon ICs. Before my flashing smileys would be about 3/4 days before the solid smiley. And then the joys of the 2ww begins!

How many flashing smileys does everyone else tend to get? As this is technically cycle 1 for me again I'm wondering if mine may change from what it was before.

Nic555 · 21/10/2019 07:30

@HugeAgeGap thank you 😁 I should feel lucky really that I used the Internet one in the afternoon otherwise I'd have completely missed the surge and thought I hadn't ovulated. First month I've had problems with the CB but I did test early in the morning than previous months so must have just missed it.

@MeganMama28 are you testing twice a day now? Not sure if you saw my messages above but I normally test once a day with the CB never had problems. Always caught my surge on a weekend at about 10.00am but this week I'd have missed it as checked too early. Everyone's surge is different though and might last longer but worth being aware off. Good luck TTC

@plaw I'm just going off yesterday and grateful that I did the stick otherwise I'd be thinking I didn't ovulate this cycle. We haven't DTD as much this cycle. Thursday, Sunday and will try again tonight. So begins another TWW 😭 should be exciting but it's just stressful. When you testing?

@Maisy24 how are you? Xx

MeganMama28 · 21/10/2019 06:22

@HopingforfirstBFP I'm testing on the 7th (if I can hold out that long) to be honest I cave and end up testing from around 10dpo!

@whatdayisit7 so sorry for your loss. I also had a MMC but in August. I was due in February and can completely relate about wanting to be pregnant before then. 🤞 for our rainbow babies x

Second day of flashing smiley on CB OPK this morning - come on solid smiley!

Plaw · 20/10/2019 22:47

@Nic555 Still no Af.

So hard to pin point the O, hope it becomes clearer for you!

HugeAgeGap · 20/10/2019 22:45

@Nic555 I’ve used the cheap ones from Amazon a few months now and always had success spotting the surge by testing early afternoon after trying not to drink anything couple hours before or going to the toilet! I read the surge takes quite a few hours to be detected so early morning urine isn’t good. I only ever catch the surge on one day and pretty much same colour on cheap ones day before and after.

Nic555 · 20/10/2019 22:36

@plaw thanks for the post. It's good to know. All my friends got pregnant first month of trying so can be frustrating. Still no AF?

@mrsleb I think I got my surge today as well although I'm not sure. Tested 7.30am with my clear blue was still just flashing. Tested 4.30pm with my cheap Internet ones as I'd ran out of clear blue and the line was pretty much same colour as control line. I used two just to be sure. My new clearblue sticks then arrived from amazon so tested again at 8.30 pm with the clear blue but still flashed which means it didn't detect Lh surge and another Internet cheapy didn't show another line at all barely. So I'm thinking that the one this morning was too early to detect my surge as apparently it can take a few hours to appear in urine and then by tonight it had already dropped. What do you think? Google says the surge can only last 8-12 hours in some people. Xx

Treaclepie19 · 20/10/2019 21:10

@HopingforfirstBFP I'll be testing around then :)
Af is due 12th but it came 5 days early this month.

MrsLEB · 20/10/2019 21:07

Think I've had a positive opk today or caught the back/front end of it. Cm slippy and watery today but yesterday and day before ew and stretchy cm. We DTD day before yesterday and today so FC we've caught it 🤞🏼 going to try the next couple of days too! Baby dust to everyone x

HopingforfirstBFP · 20/10/2019 20:12

@Gee1235 oh fab! It’s nice to know somebody is due AF at roughly the same time.

@CooperLooper oooh I may end up testing early knowing what I’m like so could be around the 5th.

Good luck ladies 🤞🏼 X

Plaw · 20/10/2019 19:52

I hope this post doesn’t upset anyone as that is definitely not my aim!

I follow a fertility nurse on insta and she had some really interesting points to make.

This really made me feel calm about the whole thing.

She said out of 100 couples,

• 20 will conceive in the first month of trying
• 50 couples will have by 6 months
• 90 of the couples within 12 months.

She mentioned that of the 10 out of 100 couples that are left, there are usually a few routine tests done but couples are still told to try for months after and certain tweaks can be made which can often help.

It just made it all feel less scary and thought I would share.

CooperLooper · 20/10/2019 19:30

@GreatestShowUnicorn never heard of them before so thank you, you've taught me something new. I'll read into it!

@HopingforfirstBFP I'm testing on the 5th 🤞🏻

Gee1235 · 20/10/2019 18:53

@HopingforfirstBFP my AF is due the same day so we will be testing around the same time! Fingers crossed for you! Will be good to have someone to go through the wait with! X

Gee1235 · 20/10/2019 18:50

Hi,

Can I join? Been reading through threads but first time on here myself!

25
Cycle #3
CD #22
TTC #1

Thought I'd join as I'm getting myself into a right old mess, who'd of thought getting pregnant would be so hard when you spend years of your life trying not to get pregnant!

It's all so confusing as well so much to get a grip on, I am using Femometer OPK's and the app said I should have ovulated yesterday but I have only has neg OPKs so far and the same last month using boots own but I gave up after 5 days of those as the recommend holding your wee for 4 hours before and I spent half the day wriggling my legs. Does everyone recommend CB opks?

I've also been tracking my BBT with a Femometer thermometer but that hasn't left my much clear as the temp is all over the place 😂

My periods used to be pretty irregular when I was younger but they have now levelled out and are more regular Although I usually have a long cycle at around 35 days average.

Although I'm not far in to my TTC journey I am already stressing about it not happening so thought I'd jump on here for some support!!

Sorry for the long rant 😩

whatdayisit7 · 20/10/2019 18:22

Hello can I join?

Ttc number 1
Age 29
Cycle 13
Test date 7th November

I had a mmc in May and my due date would have been 19th November so I'd very much like to have a BFP before this date!! Been ttc since June 2018

PumpkinKing · 20/10/2019 18:05

Hi, can I join you? AF arrived today 5 days late so I'm out this month.

TTC #3
Age 31
Cycle 3
Due / BFP 17th Nov

sojo44 · 20/10/2019 18:05

I'm testing 31st Oct, or if i can wait long enough 2 November for the full TWW (coincidentally also husbands birthday).

Should be about 1 DPO

TTC #1
Age: 32
Cycle: 2 officially (PCOS and irregular cycles so trying for 5 months)

I'm just excited I ovulated (ha) but massive fingers crossed for some good news! (And not going too mad with with symptom spotting).

HopingforfirstBFP · 20/10/2019 17:47

Is anybody else testing around 8th November? AF is due then so will be testing around that date x

GreatestShowUnicorn · 20/10/2019 16:26

@CooperLooper they work a bit like clomid and as I'm ttc with donor sperm thought it'd help to throw them in the mix soy isoflavones yes or no? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2206677-soy-isoflavones-yes-or-no
