A whole load of “up yours” to ttc

I saw a post like this on a non conception board and thought it was quite funny and cathartic so I thought I’d start one.

I’ve got a whole bag of “up yours” to the trying to conceive process. Who wants one?! I’ll start.

Up yours to 10 months of ttc #2 and everyone telling me it’s quicker the second time around as your body knows what to do.

Up yours to indent lines on one step tests and frer’s

Up yours to people telling me to “relax and it will happen”.

Up yours to the age gap which is quickly getting bigger and bigger between DS1 and potential DC2.

That’s me done.

I’m so pleased it’s not just me Grin!!

Banoffeepie91 · 24/11/2019 10:28

@Dollywilde my thoughts exactly this month! Glad I’m not just the only one who thinks like that.

Up yours to nearing the end of a big pot of folic acid and thinking when I first bought them that I wouldn’t need more than 1 as I’d be pregnant by the time they were finished.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 24/11/2019 10:17

Dollywilde

Me too!! I started TTC in December last year for my perfect September baby. That ended in an EMC. I no longer want the perfectly timed baby. I just want the baby.

Dollywilde · 24/11/2019 09:55

I sort of know what you mean gemster. If I got pregnant this month it would be an end of August baby, which pre TTC I felt would be less than ideal and now I don’t give a damn! Except I sort of feel like I can make it happen by thinking ‘this wouldn’t be a great month to get pregnant’ - I’m trying to use negative psychology on my eggs Blush it’s ridiculous...

Gemster19 · 24/11/2019 09:40

Oh and up yours to thinking that maybe this month will be the month because I'm so sure it can't be the month...then realising it won't be the month because I'm still thinking it could be the month.

Bloody hell does it feel better to let the ttc crazy out of my head 😂

Gemster19 · 24/11/2019 09:35

Another up yours to everyone who says you're super fertile after a miscarriage or you'll be pregnant again before you know it.

Up yours to not seeing your family for months because first you were pregnant and wanted to wait until it was safe to tell them, then because you were so broken after the miscarriage, then because every single cycle just might be the one.

Up yours to not yet having spoken to your friend who gave birth 9 days ago because you had been so excited to be having babies 3 months apart and you're too scared to meet her baby.

Up yours to feeling super positive about this cycle, only for DP to come back from a mad stag weekend and basically sleep through your fertile window Angry. Up yours to then being stroppy with him when he will never really understand, then stroppy with myself for feeling like that and for getting stressed in case it affects the immaculate conception.

MrsH1092 · 23/11/2019 22:34

Ooh I need this too.

Up yours to getting my period on my wedding day when we thought we were pregnant.

Up your to my SIL keep telling me how easy it was to get pregnant without trying.

Up yours to them picking my baby name for their kid.

Up yours to yet another month of being late but then no pregnancy.

Up yours to infertility testing and all that brings.

Up yours to ttc and thank you for this post it’s therapeutic.

PottersonDayz · 21/11/2019 15:18

Today's up yours.....

Up yours to the fact that none of my friends seem to understand what we're going through and are full of unsolicited unhelpful advice

Dollywilde · 20/11/2019 21:56

@solongtothedream @whatsthecraic91up yours to the fact I once found those funny.

@Loopytiles up yours to the fact I have to have one of those bastards in the next couple of weeks Angry

I’m going with anger rather than sadness right now. It feels more productive...

Loopytiles · 20/11/2019 19:29

Up yours to “transvaginal” scans.

whatsthecraic91 · 20/11/2019 19:28

@solongtothedream yes! And people who do the April fools things with a fake scan pictures etc - makes my blood boil

solongtothedream · 20/11/2019 19:22

@Dollywilde Thanks for your day, and thank you for the smile at the end!

@PottersonDayz same to you, sorry for your losses.

Adding an up yours to idiots who post 'hilarious' jokes about expecting miracle twins on social media with a 'ha, just kidding' punchline.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 20/11/2019 19:18

oh I’m sorry, you’ve dropped your... vape??”

You’re right. That made me smile!

Dollywilde · 20/11/2019 18:09

Up yours to our first appointment at the GPs heralding a year or unsuccessful TTC.

Up yours to being informed at said appointment (as I was well aware) that we live in the only CCG that doesn’t offer a single round of IVF on the NHS Angry

Up yours to the fact that our GP decided to open the entire conversation with that fact as if it’s a fait accompli that that’s where this is headed.

And one that isn’t really an up yours but that I feel only this thread will find entertaining.. up yours to walking to the tube tonight and dropping my Clearblue digi holder as I get out my oyster and a very sweet teenage boy picking it up and saying ‘oh I’m sorry, you’ve dropped your... vape??” Grin

iswhois · 20/11/2019 10:09

Oh yes and up yours to 15 years of clockwork periods until I decide to start TTC.

PottersonDayz · 20/11/2019 07:31

@solongtothedream I'm so sorry for your loss Thanks

PottersonDayz · 20/11/2019 07:28

Can I join?

Up yours to people telling you you’re more fertile after a miscarriage

Up yours to people telling you it’ll just happened

Up yours to feeling like a failure every time AF appears

Up yours to AF jumping to a 23 day cycle putting the fear in me that I’m perimenopausal as I 39

Up yours to those people who tell me we’re trying too hard and that we should relax and it will happen

Up yours to everyone who commented at least you know you can get pregnant after our miscarriage - I don’t know if I can stay pregnant

Up yours to BDing according to the calendar

Up yours to the people who tell me the statistics of loosing your first pregnancy

Up yours to faint positives followed by AF bang on time

Up yours to being overweight because of comfort eating during this

Up yours to the women who complain to me about their pregnancies without thinking

Up yours to the doctors who won’t help us until we’ve passed a year after our miscarriage

Up yours to feeling like this will never happen for us

Up yours to urine and sperm samples for fertility tests having no issues making me feel like the problem must be my body

Up yours wishing I’d met my DH when I was younger instead of at 37

Up yours to the colleague who stuck her baby right in my face days after retuning to work after my miscarriage

Up yours to everyone who told us we’d have a Honeymoon baby

Up yours to everyone who thought my DH was wrong to get me a puppy to help get me through this incase I fell pregnant. I didn’t realise just how much I needed that puppy who can tell when I’m feeling sad and just comes and cuddles me close.

Up yours to everyone who tells me I’m putting pressure on DH. DH and I are one strong team and despite the hell we’ve both been through this we are both completely on the same page with the same wants and desires.

Up yours TTC

solongtothedream · 20/11/2019 07:06

Up yours to yet another miscarriage at 10 weeks, just as I thought I could dare to hope.

Up yours to waiting weeks for a missed miscarriage to actually pass.

Up yours to the polycystic ovaries that only give me three or four chances a year and when they will be is anybody's guess.

Up yours to getting older and even less fertile so fucking fast.

Up yours to the (lovely) friend I'm going to stay with this weekend who is expecting another perfectly planned, easily conceived instababy. Up yours to the fact the miscarriage may well happen while I'm there.

HSunflower · 20/11/2019 06:48

Chefwifelife · 17/11/2019 18:10

It's been a while but here it goes. A whole load of up yours to my perfectly lovely nephew and his GF (both 20) who have announced their pregnancy news today.
