A whole load of “up yours” to ttc

I saw a post like this on a non conception board and thought it was quite funny and cathartic so I thought I’d start one.

I’ve got a whole bag of “up yours” to the trying to conceive process. Who wants one?! I’ll start.

Up yours to 10 months of ttc #2 and everyone telling me it’s quicker the second time around as your body knows what to do.

Up yours to indent lines on one step tests and frer’s

Up yours to people telling me to “relax and it will happen”.

Up yours to the age gap which is quickly getting bigger and bigger between DS1 and potential DC2.

That’s me done.

Up yours to being 10dpo with a bfn on a cheapie. Up yours to it's not over until af arrives. Up yours to knowing that statistically, it is over as this is my 14th cycle in 18 months and only one of those cycles did I get a bfp. Up yours to the desperation and sadness.

LosingtheTTCplot · 25/11/2019 23:03

A whole load of up yours to this positive digi at nearly a week late and brown spotting which turned out to be a false positive!

Also to missing ovulation for this month thinking I was actually pregnant and it being early!

Oooo what a wonderous thread.
Up yours to the five years, $50,000 worth of IVF and 6 miscarriages it took to conceive DC1
Up yours to being diagnosed with cancer which destroyed most of my maternity leave, and happened within weeks of your planned FET
Up yours to chemo which has likely destroyed what little, shitty fertility I had in the first place
Up yours to waiting another year now I’m healthy to TTC even though I’m also likely to kick in to early menopause at any time now
Up yours to all of my pregnant friends complaining about the sex of their perfect, healthy babies

wannabebump · 25/11/2019 07:32

Reading this has made me realise I am not alone xx

A big up yours to the Facebook announcement from a friend who's 7 weeks. SEVEN!!! I can be happy for someone at 12 wks, my heart sinks a little but I can keep it together. I had a MC at 6, so 7 just seems ridiculous to be shouting it from the rooftops!

Also up yours to the current ttw...and feeling every symptom possible. Ugh.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 25/11/2019 04:04

Up yours to the cost of TTC.

OPKs and FRERs every month and I spent £200 on an Ava bracelet that seems to not be helping. I’ve spent a fortune.

GreyC · 25/11/2019 01:32

Amen sisters! Love this thread!! M

iswhois · 25/11/2019 00:25

iswhois · 25/11/2019 00:19

Up yours to Xmas pudding jumper pregnancy announcements (I love Xmas pudding!)
Up yours to DH yet again claiming "it's bound to happen at this rate" WHEN WE HAVENT BEEN TTC IN MY FERTILE WEEK
Up yours to the aforementioned fertile week killing my sex life

Up yours to people saying you are 25 and of "no age" so stop worrying

Just up yours up yours up yours

iswhois · 25/11/2019 00:13

@Minniemoo60 welcome to the bitter side, we have folic acid ThanksThanksThanks

Minniemoo60 · 25/11/2019 00:12

I’m new to mumsnet and reading through all your posts has made me feel a bit better in that I’m not alone. Been off the pill for six months and no period yet. Doctors saying it’s normal even though it doesn’t feel normal so

Up yours to no period yet
Up yours to a newborn baby in the family
Up yours to a family pregnancy announcement
Up yours to being questioned when will you have a baby
Up yours for shopping for sister in laws newborn and wishing it was for our own
Up yours to having to wait 12 months before my doctor will do any tests

Dia12 · 24/11/2019 23:58

*wrenching!

Dia12 · 24/11/2019 23:57

Same here...it's gut retrenching to sit on sidelines and watch everyone make TTC look so easy and effortless and then the guilt for not being happy enough is the shitty cherry on top.

Sometimes I feel like I'm having to use every fibre of my being to stay positive and keep my shit together....so I don't look back at my life and feel like I've wasted years yearning for something that wasn't meant to be.

So a massive up yours to keeping shit together.

GreyC · 24/11/2019 23:19

@waitingformytime
I am sat hear feeling sad as another friend has told me she’s pregnant within months of her marriage. I have two other friends pregnant with honeymoon babies.
I’m sat here; a failed ivf cycle and a DP back on anxiety meds as he feels like he’s failed.
Feeling sad as we aren’t doing any more ivf due to various things and we can’t afford it.
Having a year off to save and regroup and then start the adoption ball rolling. Although I’m already worrying about that!!

wantingformytime · 24/11/2019 23:12

Probably already said but I'm having a awful day, 3 pregnancy announcements from friends in 2 days, that added to the 15 (that have caught by accident or under 3 months) since I've been ttc 18 months almost. One a month as if AF isn't enough.

Up yours to feeling useless/worthless
Up yours to af
Up yours to bfn
Up yours ttw
Up yours to opk kits and 21 day bloods
Up yours to symptom spotting
Up yours dtd at right time

Anyone else just sat there a cry, wishing was you? Then feel like a horrible friend that your not over month for your friends. Reaching breaking point.

LunchBoxPolice · 24/11/2019 21:14

BeingATwatItsABingThing thank you

Constantlurker · 24/11/2019 18:40

God I need this thread today. I am sending a big huge UP YOURS to the fact that I'm sat on a stupid train because I have a work trip that I can't rearrange, and of course this is the week I'll be ovulating, so yet again it's a pointless wasted fecking month, but I can't get another job because I need the maternity pay I've built up.

AliSxo · 24/11/2019 17:34

Up yours to having an infected wisdom tooth and the only antibiotic is metronidazole which isn't ideal when TTC as can cause birth defects.. 3dpo and considering not taking them as if I am pregnant this will cause me to worry that I've caused birth defects!! X

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 24/11/2019 16:47

LunchBoxPolice I’m so sorry to hear that. Flowers

LunchBoxPolice · 24/11/2019 14:35

Up yours to the GP surgery for trying to get me to book a flu vaccination when my baby died in JULY.

Chefwifelife · 24/11/2019 12:35

Hello fellow uytttc ers. For some reason this thread doesn't come up in my "I'm on list" anymore; maybe because they're so many posts lol.

Sunday's are a great time to get shit off your chest so here's mine:

Up yours to my nutty brain thinking I could still be preggo even though my temps have nose dived, bfn and light af because that actually happened to me with my EMC. Come on brain let's move on from that!

Hey ladies I'm new so only just seen this thread but after ttc for almost a year having a misscarrige in May I'd love to say up yours to it all so...

1, up yours for being 1 day late and negative

2, up yours for having a misscarrige and then no periods for 3 months

3, up yours to the people saying just relax, stop stressing over it, it will happen

4, up yours to the girl at work who's been with her bf 3 seconds and already pregnant

4, up yours for feeling like a failure and being so fed up

5, up yours to feeling so alone

Rant over lol

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 24/11/2019 11:03

I do the opposite Gemster. I buy sanitary products and ovulation sticks in the hope that it’s wasted money. That’s normally how my life works...

Gemster19 · 24/11/2019 10:53

@Banoffeepie91 I know what you mean - I have my pregnacare conception on Amazon subscription and every month I skip them because I'm nearly at the end of the 2WW and think I'll need to move onto the pregnancy ones in a few days.

I stupidly also refuse to buy tampons as it feels like tempting fate so have a mad dash to Superdrug every month 🙄

Wearenotyourkind · 24/11/2019 10:36

Up yours to a 4th person I know now announcing their pregnancy...
