A whole load of “up yours” to ttc

I saw a post like this on a non conception board and thought it was quite funny and cathartic so I thought I’d start one.

I’ve got a whole bag of “up yours” to the trying to conceive process. Who wants one?! I’ll start.

Up yours to 10 months of ttc #2 and everyone telling me it’s quicker the second time around as your body knows what to do.

Up yours to indent lines on one step tests and frer’s

Up yours to people telling me to “relax and it will happen”.

Up yours to the age gap which is quickly getting bigger and bigger between DS1 and potential DC2.

That’s me done.

Well that’s a mother load of up yours to ttc. We’re open 24/7 so keep em coming. My fave I’ve read today is from @30somethingandtired and her abducted frozen piss pot 😂

Up yours to waking up early on a Saturday in agony and knowing AF has shown her ugly face and knowing that you won't go back to sleep so not only will you be in pain all day you'll be knackered too.

30somethingandtired · 27/09/2019 21:27

I LOVE this thread, totally agree with these; especially the 'staying in a shitty job' and the handbag piss-pot, (mine is a Disney Olaf cup, had to tell DD she can't drink out of it anymore 🙈).

My few to add:

  • up yours to my mother, complaining about not yet finishing the menopause and announcing that she thinks all women should just stop being fertile at 30, because by then they've had plenty of time to make babies 🤬🤯🤬
  • up yours to cancelling social plans because you're due to ovulate, then not DTD because he's ill or working
  • up yours to the best friend who conceived as soon as she stared trying
  • up yours to the storage unit that charge me a fortune every month to look after all of DD's baby things, that I can't get rid of, just in case
  • up yours to my partner for being totally oblivious to how upset ttc makes me
  • up yours to my boss for causing so much stress I think it's affecting my ovulation
  • up yours to everyone that raises their eyebrows if ever I mention feeling slightly nauseous
But mostly....
  • up yours to my crappy body for not doing what I want it to.
Liverbird77 · 27/09/2019 20:36

Up yours to my body making me thinking I'm pregnant and then getting my period at odd times.

Up yours to anyone who thinks I am too old at 42.

Up yours to the empty spare room in our new house, next to my baby's and earmarked for number two

Fredsgirl19 · 27/09/2019 20:00

Up yours to all of these comments

A whole load of “up yours” to ttc
Mackerz · 27/09/2019 12:25

@zoomies1

Yep, I’ll 2nd that up yours

nextweek · 27/09/2019 11:53

Love this thread! Agree with so many of these.
Up yours to trying for over year and getting my hopes up every feckin month!
Up yours to waiting, waiting for the fertile week, the tww, for gp appointments, for test results, for fertility clinic appointments...agggggghhhh all the waiting UP YOURS!!!
Thanks, feel much better now Smile

zoomies1 · 27/09/2019 11:51

Up yours to having to have sex with DH even after he has really p*ssed me off because I've just had a positive OPK!

FatAndFurious7 · 27/09/2019 08:29

So true about the targeted ads thing.. the last thing I constantly want to see is where my local NCT classes are and beautiful baby grows and toys all over the internet!

Also, many have already said it but I want one too - up yours to the 'it was a surprise! We weren't even trying' knobs who act charmingly clumsy and blasé about the whole thing and say things like 'I'll probably put the nappies on backwards!' Oh how delightfully fucking funny you are..

Mackerz · 27/09/2019 07:53

Me too. Supposedly I’m fertile window but no OPK yet (unless I’ve missed it). Up sours to sex being clinical and booked in for certain times.

MoosliMoo · 26/09/2019 22:25

Really needed this today!

Up yours to doing everything right for years, taking the pill religiously, being utterly safe sex sensible at all times, then coming off the pill to not a sniff of a BFP in sight 10 months later

Up yours to every single one of my female friends either getting pregnant or having a baby in the first 3 months of us trying - definitely not utterly dismaying at all!

Up yours to anyone who tells me to just relax. You just relax.

Up yours to being fobbed off with ‘its PCOS, you just have none of the symptoms’

Up yours to putting life on hold

Up yours to feeling guilty about every glass of wine

Up yours to ‘we weren’t even trying!’

Up yours to vitamins

Up yours to snake oil salespeople of the internet

Arghhhhhhh thank you and good night.

Banoffeepie91 · 26/09/2019 20:29

A couple more from me today as AF has just arrived.

Up yours to Facebook that seems to think I want to see every single ad related to pregnancy and babies!

Up yours to waiting months to get my coil removed as I’d heard loads of stories of people getting pregnant straight away but clearly not me!

Chefwifelife · 26/09/2019 20:10

And another great day of up yours to ttc. It’s a super free for all Friday tomorrow where many an up yours will be available!

This has made me smile today and to be honest I've been avoiding the general conception board and sticking to infertility one lately so I'm glad I came by!

Up yours to the friend that moaned on and on about how awful her pregnancy sickness was despite me telling her we had zero chance of conceiving naturally and had been refered for IVF and a bigger up yours for being a dick when I said I'd love to be able to experience morning sickness!

Up yours to the countless money I've literally pissed away on opks and tests before we knew we couldn't actually make babies!

Up yours to the people that tell me constantly that they know a girl who was referred for fertility treatment and got pregnant before the appointment. Lucky bloody her!!!

Up yours to the people who ask how much fertility treatment costs, they are after a monetary figure, but the cost is so so much more than that.

Up yours to the people who look at their other half and get pregnant!!

Ahh I feel much better now :)

Omikron · 26/09/2019 17:19

Oh there's a lot of positives on here at the moment. I'm feeling a little envious

Hewie30 · 26/09/2019 15:35

This is such a good idea...

Up yours to stupid runs/indents on one step tests

Up yours to stupid false positives on frers

Up yours to having to try and schedule sex

Up yours to trying to figure out when you ovulate because every cycle has been different

Up yours to the questions 'when are you having a baby' not knowing we've already been trying for 4-5 months

Up yours to my current 40 day cycle!

MrsN2121 · 26/09/2019 14:30

Lol thanks @Chefwifelife 😂 i hate it but still carry it around every month to test!
Absolutely loving this thread, reassured me that I'm not the only one trying my hardest to get preggers!! Sending gd vibes to everyone. X

waitingforarainbow · 26/09/2019 13:59

@Chefwifelife Thank you so much. Miscarriage is shit, and that really is all you want people to say. 'That's so shit. I'm sorry. How are you feeling? Do you want to talk about it?' Maybe it's because it was my third time going through it, but I found people forgot very quickly and never mentioned it again, when actually I would quite like to talk about it sometimes.

Additional up yours to the mum I saw yesterday who was taking her 11 month old to nursery. I looked down and she was heavily pregnant! Slightly mean personal up yours there (especially as I don't know her circumstances), but hey, she'll never know! LOL.

Enjoying reading everyone else's up yours. Happy venting, everyone! x

Lozzy25 · 26/09/2019 10:29

Up yours to the woman at work who asks me every day "are you pregnant yet?"

Up yours to another woman at work who tells me all the time "you should have a baby" I'm trying!!!!

Up yours to everyone who says "just relax it will happen"

Up yours fo everyone who says "if it's meant to be it will be"

Up yours to everyone on my social media who is pregnant

Up yours to the hundreds of negative pregnancy tests I have taken

Up yours to not being able to achieve the only thing in the world I have ever wanted Sad

Mackerz · 26/09/2019 10:14

This is such a pleasant change from the “can you see a line” threads.

EvelineUK · 26/09/2019 10:13

Fair play to you, sometimes you can get too caught up in all the opinions. However well meant, opinions are, as someone famous once said, like ar$eholes, everyone has one....
I will simply wish you good luck. x

cornplant · 26/09/2019 10:11

I'm not convinced that those that say they weren't trying actually weren't.

Mackerz · 26/09/2019 10:09

Absolutely up yours to the we weren’t trying brigade. The majority of people want children so I think it should be quite obvious that those in their late 30s and early 40s are trying, and are at higher risk of infertility and miscarriage.

Roxy8203 · 26/09/2019 09:36

Up yours to my brother and his wife talking about having a sibling for their 7 month old 2 months after my miscarriage

Up yours to people telling me loads of women have babies into their 40's, I'm 37 and already struggling

Up yours to the time we wasted waiting for my partners divorce

Up yours to the false hope googling has given me after my miscarriage about being more fertile, bullshit!!

Up yours to AF

Up yours to miscarriage and how taboo it is

Up your to having all male management team at work how had no idea how to talk to me during my MMC

Up yours being made to believe conception is so easy

Up your to all of it.....and breath x

theotherfossilsister · 26/09/2019 09:31

Up yours organising things and thinking ' by the time this dinner party/holiday/birthday comes I will definitely be pregnant, because it's ages away, then the event comes and I am not. Extra up you points if someone else announces their surprise pregnancy at said dinner party, with a 'we weren't trying but we're delighted.'
