So odd things happen... I went in for a scan today, that large follicle was still there. I was quite disheartened thinking I didn't ovulate. They suggested to do a progesterone blood test, and it returned that I ovulated! Which means there was another follicle. So strange!

KatBeCool · 04/06/2020 21:05

@RosettaR so, hopefully my one big follicles actually releases an egg and I'll let a bfp. But I'm going to try IUI again if this month doesn't work, he'll give me a much higher dose of Gonal F. And we'll go from there.

RosettaR · 04/06/2020 20:48

@Lina365 huge congratulations! Keeping everything crossed for you too.

Sorry to hear you're still waiting @starkid. Hopefully they will re open soon now more and more things are opening up.

Glad to hear you have found a better clinic @KatBeCool! So frustrating to be told that about your previous IUI though. So are they now doing more tests to try to work out what's going on?

I'm down regulating now for IVF, not enjoying the drugs as they re making me feel knackered. But glad to have made a start. Down reg scan is on 23 Jun so it's all very slow.

KatBeCool · 04/06/2020 19:57

@starkid I'm sorry about AF. I wish a had some helpful advice.

KatBeCool · 04/06/2020 19:56

@MotherOfShihTzus they say n-acetyl-cysteine is supposed to be very fertility-friendly, you basically take it until week 1- or something. And black cohosh is said to help Clomid work, so I'm guessing it helps with soy isoflavones as well. That's what I did this month.

So I had an appointment at the new clinic today. He was so thorough, didn't dismiss anything I said. And I realized that my old clinic was basically setting me up for failure with IUIs they did just so they could push me to do ivf. They weren't giving me enough medications to grow more follicles so the low number I had was giving me almost no chance of success. I wish I would've gone to this clinic sooner. I'm cd15 today, had + opk on cd13. I expected to ovulate yesterday or maybe earlier today. However, on the scan they did they saw a 22mm follicle. I'm going back tomorrow to see if it ruptured. I really want to know if I ovulate on my own. Impatience is settling in.

starkid · 04/06/2020 08:48

@MotherOfShihTzus thank you, and yes it does feel that way the beginning of each cycle now. I always get my hopes up, and yet I get the same symptoms every time and bang on schedule (at least that's a plus I guess?)

I was being referred in February, but only after another pelvic scan on a cyst on my ovary. I rang the hospital and I'm on the list for am appointment for the scan still so waiting for them to reopen and send me an appointment. Then will be onto the IVF consultations.

MotherOfShihTzus · 04/06/2020 08:44

@KatBeCool thank you. I'm on pregnancies, vit c, vit b complex and vit d, have tried soy isoflavones. Is there anything else you'd recommend?

For anyone in need of a giggle, this month we even tried using a mooncup hoping it would help... and couldn't get it out!! We are still looking for new things to try 😂

MotherOfShihTzus · 04/06/2020 08:42

@starkid - I feel for you 😔 are you ok? Where are you in terms of referral/ treatment?
I dialled one to a fertility call through work recently where they had someone from the fertility network there, and the way they described each unsuccessful cycle as being like a bereavement when you've been trying so long, really hit home. Have you looked on their site for support resources? May be worth a browse. My OH dialled in to a call just for men too, which he really valued.
Similar situation here; I've been tearing apart frers thinking there's a hint of a line but really I know it's just an evap as I've never had a real positive. AF due today, had the obligatory period headache since yest.

starkid · 04/06/2020 08:20

AF is here, now onto cycle 25 with no hint of a bfp :(

KatBeCool · 04/06/2020 05:15

@MotherOfShihTzus is that a private clinic that is still closed? Maybe just try all the supplements you can get your hands on in the meanwhile.

FlapJackered · 03/06/2020 22:43

Congratulations @Lina365 ! Fantastic news, I am so happy for you, and keeping everything crossed this time. 🤞

I hope everyone's doing ok. Keeping fingers crossed for more bfps on this thread soon. X

MotherOfShihTzus · 03/06/2020 12:41

Fantastic to see a bpf @Lina365 !!

I made the step and called the fertility clinic yesterday and got the news I've been dreading; we were due to be contacted apr/May (6 months after final consultation discussing our test results) but alas - they are still closed as their staff have been re-deployed re. Corona virus. Where I'd be starting ivf now, it's now looking like next year. Yesterday was a bad day. Will have to move the wedding again. Friends are getting pregnant literally their first month trying which is amazing! But I just wish it could be like that for us. Starting to think about planning fir a life without kids... not fun.

Any other positive news out there?! Much needed!

KatBeCool · 03/06/2020 10:45

@Lina365 it's definitely a line! And pretty good for not a frer. I guess the beer helped 😂

Lina365 · 03/06/2020 10:42

I've been drinking beer the last few days Blush

Lina365 · 03/06/2020 10:38

Thanks...! It's really light but much clearer in real life. Please stick!!! No more trouble and going to shitty scans alone please!

starkid · 03/06/2020 07:51

@Lina365 wow yes let's see a pic! :) Fingers crossed for you

KatBeCool · 03/06/2020 06:34

@Lina365 that's fantastic! All fingers crossed for a sticky one. I'd probably be in disbelief too. You got a picture?

Lina365 · 03/06/2020 05:38

The spotting stopped yesterday and nausea started... I took a test this morning, and I got two pink lines.

I just don't know how I feel. My head says I'm lucky but I'm being cautious and I mentally prepare to see blood next time I go to the loo. I'm calling the doctor today to book a scan, but... I feel like a fraud now.

starkid · 01/06/2020 17:02

@KatBeCool - oh god i remember soy isoflavones from maybe a year or so ago when a few of us tried them, they turned me proper jittery and manic if I remember rightly haha
Well done on persevering with exercise at home! I need to get my wii back out to do some Just Dance in the evenings I think... can't really do it during the day when my husband is there trying to work Grin

KatBeCool · 01/06/2020 16:09

@starkid I decided to try soy isoflavones, ohh my body certainly didn't like those, just like with Clomid, daily migraines. Then black cohosh and n-acetyl-cysteine. Exercising at home has been boring and annoying. And my DH hates it when I send him to another room while I flail my limbs to aerobics and Zumba on TV.

Lina365 · 01/06/2020 10:54

@RosettaR Your lunch sounds yummy!

@starkid Yeah I was lucky in that sense. All the grief turned into anger and frustration (so many pregnancy and birth announcements) pretty quickly, then we found out we got an appointment to go plan ivf, and now we're just waiting for July/August to start the nasal spray. I'm feeling less impatient and more relieved that things are moving on.

@KatBeCool I don't know what cycle day I have because when I last had bleeding, I thought it was from the miscarriage still and I never made a note of when it happened. I should have done because last week the doctor asked me questions all I could tell her was I'd been bleeding on and off. But I do know that now I've been spotting a few days, so hopefully it'll be cd1 soon .

Oh, I forgot. My other endometrioma has grown. Still not huge, but apparently it has grown. I'm hoping it just keeps changing its size and isn't getting in the way of my eggs' development.

starkid · 01/06/2020 08:29

@KatBeCool also good luck with your new clinic!

starkid · 01/06/2020 08:28

@KatBeCool hey :) nothing new is happening here that's why I'm quiet haha. Just waiting for AF due in the next couple of days, with all the usual PMT signs here. Waiting for the hospital to allow routine scans again so can have the additional pelvic ultrasound the consultant wanted me to have before we move onto any of the IVF consultations... Now would've been a good time for all these appointments seeing as I'm furloughed! Very low about it all as usual
What supplements are you trying this time round? I'm using Pregnacare liquid and the last two cycles also extra b6 after ovulation, think I read that was the right way round to do it?!

@Lina365 I'm glad the pills and process were not too horrible for you, so sad to hear of it Sad like you said, getting a bfp naturally is good though, fingers crossed will happen again Smile

KatBeCool · 01/06/2020 07:48

@Lina365 I'm on CD12, all signs point to timely ovulation this time around. Trying new supplements this time as I have nothing to lose. The appointment with the new fertility clinic is on Thursday. I don't know what their process is but hopefully they'll do a scan on that day and I'll know if I ovulated as it'll be CD15. What CD are you now?

@starkid how are you doing? You've been quiet.

Lina365 · 01/06/2020 06:48

Hi everyone, sorry that I disappeard! Thanks for asking @KatBeCool, I think I've recovered ok. I went for a scan and they said it didn't look big enough, then I had some tests done because they wanted to double check, and the tests confirmed miscarriage, and then I took the pills to get rid of it all. I was dreading it, but it was super easy for me. No pain, less bleeding than my regular period. Not sure if my cycle is back to normal, I had some bleeding which could have been AF but not sure. Also thought I spotted the ovulation, but it wasn't a clear plus on the stick. Emotionally, I'm doing ok. I feel it was a good sign that we had a bfp naturally, so fingers crossed now it'll happen again. Preferably before our first ivf after the summer. I do get a little bit frustrated at times and fear that the covid19 situation will close the clinics again this summer. How are you doing? And everyone else?
