I thought I'd start a new thread as the other one is full. Sorry if I've missed anyone out.

@labrinth1 sorry to hear about your mc. 😟 Life can be so cruel. I do accunpuncture weekly and have been since August. No BFP yet for me but I do feel more relaxed during my cycle. When I get AF then I lose hope and feel utterly crap again!

@starkid sorry AF turned up. I'm still spotting annoying me now. This is the third day, i'm started to worry that a spot before AF every month! 😭

@KatBeCool for you! We need a BFP on this thread! X

This is my first post, although I've visited this forum countless times over the past 16 months I've been TTC (trying to conceive) baby #1. I had a missed MC (miscarriage) at 10 weeks in September (identical twins) after 12 months of TTC (trying to conceive). Now the thought of being back into the routine of counting down days to ovulation and the TWW seem like too much to bear.

Just hoping to hear from those of your that have been in a similar situation and had positive outcomes. Tips on how to stay calm would also be great...although I feel that may be impossible.

I'm starting acupuncture soon. While me and my partner (I'm 37 and he's 38) have 'no apparent problems' that are preventing it from happening, I'm hoping acupuncture may be a help. Anyone tried this and had success??

starkid · 20/11/2019 14:54

Spotting has started for me, red, so I'm out. Cycle 18 (I think?) here I come... while someone at work is currently talking about their wife's recent 20 week scan :(

starkid · 20/11/2019 09:06

@KatBeCool - run out of tests!! Shock fingers crossed for you xx
@FlapJackered - wow nice effort haha! Grin yeah I'll also give that documentary a miss, thanks for the heads up

FlapJackered · 20/11/2019 07:27

@Nattttt I hope so! Although are chances are pretty slim of it happening naturally so we will just throw lots of sperm at it and keep our fingers crossed!!! Sorry af has caught you. Take care of yourself.

@KatBeCool 12dpo, that is pretty long for you no? Are you on progesterone this cycle? Go get a test! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

KatBeCool · 20/11/2019 00:07

CD26 and 12 DPO today. Boobs suddenly decided to start getting sore yesterday. Normally that happens within a couple of days after ovulation. I've slacked literally on everything this cycle. On gym, on vitamins, on supplements. And I was going to test this morning only to find out that I have no tests left. I think I lost it.

Nattttt · 19/11/2019 22:54

Thanks @FlapJackered. Woah, valiant effort with twice in one day, you’re giving yourself the best chance there so fingers crossed.🤞 I’ll give the documentary a miss if it’s depressing, especially as I’ve been trying to cheer myself up after a miserable reunion with ‘the witch’ today.

FlapJackered · 19/11/2019 22:08

@Broodyaf that is amazing news!!! You must be really happy with that! I hope you had good news yesterday and they are holding on. 🤞🏻

@PineappleC sorry af has come early, she is a mean old witch! That is great that you are all set up for ivf though! It will be good to have someone else to go through it all with.

@RosettaR that's good to hear you're getting the op soon, I am with you on the cost of things adding up. I try and just remind myself of the end goal when I have a money panic!

Welcome @zoomies1 @Natttt

@ValidUser that is really exciting you have ivf confirmed. It is reassuring to have progress even if it is ivf.

I think I am ovulating today, we managed to somehow get semen everywhere but in the right place on first attempt today 🙈 DH heroically managed to Dtd again this evening but I can't imagine much came out. 🤦🏼‍♀️
I am going to suggest we Dtd again tomorrow morning but I think DH might pack his bags or jump out of the window if I ask for a third time in 24 hours 😂
I watched a documentary on iPlayer this evening called 'making babies' about ivf - I do not recommend anyone watching it, very very depressing!! 😩

Nattttt · 19/11/2019 21:53

@Mrs71 thank you for the welcome and good luck with your gp appointment next Tuesday, hopefully you’ll get referred for tests.

@RosettaR thank you for your kind words. I hope your surgery goes well. If I’m right in reading that you’re heading down the ivf route too, best of luck with that too.

RosettaR · 19/11/2019 20:54

@Mrs71 please don't worry too much about the hycosy/hsg. It is unpleasant but really nothing more than that. And they are surprisingly quick, 15 minutes most of the time.

@ValidUser that's great you've got ivf dates confirmed. Are you doing long or short protocol? I am hoping for to start ivf in Jan or Feb but will be long protocol so that would be egg collection in Feb or Mar.

@Natttt welcome. I think most of us will be with you on finding the whole thing emotionally challenging, the sadness of af arriving does just seem to get worse. It's so hard to stay hopeful at that time.

It is hard talking to friends. The only friend I talk to has three children all conceived easily, so that's hard too because sometimes it just feels so unfair.

Hi @zoomies1. Good luck with your blood tests. I hope the private appointment comes round quickly.

Mrs71 · 19/11/2019 20:51

@ValidUser are you going through the nhs or private? Not long to wait for you bet you're so excited x

Thanks @starkid!

@Mrs71, I'm only as far as I am by being an obsessive mess! I'm not far off 2 years either.

Welcome to the thread @zoomies1 and @Natttt 👋🏼

@starkid cd 26 for me and the pink spotting has started!! 😔😔😔 I have a gp's appointment next Tuesday I really want a referral to the fertility clinic. Least the balls rolling as I know it can take a while. I've got really bad anxiety about the hsg/hycosy test thing. I haven't even been referred yet or had any scans done but I still worry about this.

@queenqueenqueen totally understand the milestone thing! I do it all the time then hate myself for it. 😭 I can't help it but I always think this time next year this will happen all those times have come and gone and it's the hardest thing ever.

@RosettaR good luck with the surgery private is so much better but I know what you mean, least you don't have long to wait. I'm spending a fortune with my new private endocrinologist plus accunpuncture etc.

@ValidUser fab news on getting ivf dates sorted. I feel like I'm so much behind everyone else but will be hitting 2 years ttc in Jan.

starkid · 19/11/2019 15:04

@ValidUser - congrats on getting a date and a plan in place, and good luck!! :)

ValidUser · 19/11/2019 14:28

Update! IVF in February.

This is my last cycle of follicle tracking. Must lose a few kg by January and then off we go.

Knew this was coming. Must go on innohep for full cycle. I'm at peace with this. Excited, even!

Natttt · 19/11/2019 11:37

Hi Everyone,

I’m not quite at the one year mark yet but 12 cycles and no glimpse of a bfp to date, it sure feels deflating and today marks the start of another period (and a day off work as I try to pick myself up again).

I think I was perhaps quite naive when we began our ttc journey, I’m 30 (31 in Jan) and my parter is 32. I just anticipated that it’d happen for us once we started trying, how wrong I was!

I find each month more emotionally challenging, the phases seem to be:

  1. Anxiety in the build up to ovulation to ensure we’re making the most of my fertile time
  2. Symptom spotting and therefore further anxiety during the tww
  3. Sadness when my period arrives each month.

We’ve been using the clear blue advanced ovulation tests for the past 8 cycles (haven’t temped so could try that).

We’re currently awaiting results from my partner’s semen analysis, we should get them in a couple of weeks. I’m also booked in for a scan in January, I had an ultrasound earlier in the year and though I was reassured to hear I’d ovulated (that cycle anyway) there was some talk of my lining being quite thick for the time of month so don’t know if they maybe suspect endo. Will have to see. Quite tempted to get a fertility MOT privately too.

Haven’t shared the news of ttc with anyone aside from one of my best friends. She was a great support earlier in the year as she was also ttc. She conceived in April and sadly it ended in a miscarriage at 8 weeks, since then she has found discussing ttc too painful which I can totally understand.

Anyway, I’m now seeking solace here. Fingers crossed we are all closer to a BFP than we realise Smile.

Nat

Hi All, Can I join please?

I am now on cycle 13 which includes one MMC back in Feb.

I'm off for 'day 21' tests on Thursday and I have an appointment I managed to get through my work's private healthcare because I have virtually non existent periods the same day. Feeling pretty calm about it other than being slightly impatient.

It would be good to have somewhere to go for a bit of advice as it's quite a lonely experience - I can't bring myself to discuss it with anyone IRL.

Hope your weeks are going well so far!

starkid · 19/11/2019 10:09

Well it's CD25 and all the signs of AF being on her way, including the day before jitters (anyone else get that?!), so I expect she'll arrive tomorrow Sad Was feeling hopeful this month as it's the cycle after the HSG, but alas

Maisy24 · 18/11/2019 21:47

@queenqueenqueen no not yet sadly! This is my first month using clear blue though!

I have been off my pill since July last year but I've had some really long cycles so definitely not once a month. We only really started to try around January. I was on the pill for 12 years (hence the long cycles coming off it) so my cycles have only just got back to normal lengths, hoping this along with clear blue will work! Xxx

queenqueenqueen · 18/11/2019 21:46

Ps thanks for the link x

queenqueenqueen · 18/11/2019 21:39

@maisy24 have you had your BFP then? If not how long have you been trying and using that? Xx

Maisy24 · 18/11/2019 21:28

@queenqueenqueen sure photo attached, they are around £26 but totally worth it for me. I also temped along with it and it all tied up as my temp went up the day after my static smiley, so definitely work . It gave me three flashing smileys (high) before my static one (peak) so i was able to dtd on all 4 days so i feel it increased my chances. with the eBay cheapies i would just go from negative to positive and then might only do it once in the correct timeframe Xxxx

queenqueenqueen · 18/11/2019 21:19

@maisy24 how long have you been TTC? Can you send a link to the one you have please? I've been using internet cheapys which I have had Success with before x

Maisy24 · 18/11/2019 21:17

@queenqueenqueen if your periods have settled down then that's positive now! You should definitely start using opks, I really do recommend the clear blue advanced, they have really helped me relax as they just tell me when to dtd! Xxxx
