Sorry to hear there has been so many losses, you are all so brave. I did mc a long time ago so I do understand how hard it is. Even after that bfp it's a scary time. With dd I worried pretty much the whole way through. But she's here, 21 months and perfectly healthy so one or more mc does not mean that it won't happen eventually.

AF is due for me tomorrow, my app says Tuesday but I'm convinced it's tomorrow. I am actually looking forward to getting it out the way so we can seriously start to ttc. 1st cycle was definitely a write off!

Hi I am 39 and trying to conceive. I had a miscarriage in April of this year and was worried I was leaving it late. I fell straight away. We have only just started trying again this month as it took me a while to feel ready to try again. I do worry about age. Although my midwife had previously said this is the ‘normal age’ now that women are having children. Who knows. Hoping you all get what you want. Will be following this thread.

Been trying for three years plus with male infertility issues. I'm 39. He's 33. We both have children with exs. Had a couple of early losses. I'm currently 5 days late but we had very little sex this month, so I refuse to believe we have done it.

Nice to see other women my age TTC I turned 39 on Monday me and and my DP have been TTC since June. I came off the POP and cycles came back by July and now every 28 days and according to OPK I ovulate around CD15 my AF unfortunately turned up today was hopeful this month we had cracked it but sadly not. So onto cycle 3 we go.
I've been taking a folic acid supplement since I started TTC as every little helps

@Icouldstillbejoseph he said he was going to send my results to a specialist for advice. I'm still waiting. It's been 3 weeks.

Feel totally fed up about it to be honest. The CPs have really taken a toll on my MH and I'm not sure I can face another one. I'm determined not to test this month until I'm a few days late. I'm on holiday when AF is due so maybe that will help. I don't know though. I'm sure come 10dpo I'll be desperate to know!

@Whyhaveidonethis - so I assume you are getting referred to someone who can interpret your blood results??

Good luck to everyone. I was 40 when we started TTC. Am now 42 and have an 8 month old little girl. Obviously it does get harder to conceive as you get older due to hormones but every woman is different and, annoying as it sounds, it really does only take one good egg and one good sperm so it is more than possible. 39 isn't that old anyway!! I know it feels old when you are there but when you get to 42 it sounds young!!

IVF availability varies in different areas which is terribly unfair. I was entitled to 2 NHS rounds over the age of 40 and there was no waiting list in my area either (north London). I had my appointment in the February at gynae and an IVF appointment in March. A private clinic won't bump you up the NHS list but getting your tests done promptly after 6 months of trying will help.

The one thing I did that I'm grateful for, was to get help promptly at the 6 month point rather than keeping trying. It turned out we did have a problem so would have wasted time.

A book worth reading is It Starts with an Egg. It talks about supplements and diet based on the (limited) research evidence that exists. Personally I took Vit D and Ubiquinol (the good quality stuff) but no idea if it helped.

Yes totally in agreement with mother nature being a bitch at times!... Here's one for your Thursday morning... tmi but nevermind, so the lat 10 weeks of my pregnancy with dd I had the worst reoccurring yeast infection, it was constant and nothing worked. I never had it before and it went as soon as dd was born, not had it again in the 21 months since. So 1st cycle of ttc and I've woken up this morning with a yeast infection! Oh the joys and I i know im not pregnant so it just my bodys way of laughing at me, oh you are ttc again ok heres a little present for you!
Next cycle I'm going to take things seriously, cut out sugar, I hardly drink anyway so thats not an issue, start taking vitamins etc I'm obviously not at peak health so need to try better 🙈

@Nicsfh80 I'm due to ovulate this weekend. I've not used my ovulation sticks this month as I'm trying to relax. My problem is that every time I have sex on ov day I get pregnant. It just never sticks.

Also - Mother Nature is somewhat of a bitch. My periods are never ever irregular until I'm ttc and then I'm sometimes late - just to play with my emotions!

I mean I'm blaming Mother Nature, totally nothing to do with my obsession of course

Yep tried pre seed. I'd try drinking cold sick at the moment if I thought it'd work.

I’m 40 and ttc 3rd child (Ds 8 and DD 6), new relationship, same old cliche of now deciding I really want another one.
I’m on month 4 of ttc. AF not due yet but I know I’m not pregnant in my gut.
I’ve tried bloody ovulation tests and it never registered anything. Tried pre seed.

Pissed off. Fed up. Know I’m irrational but I don’t care. Want to sulk with you guys please.

Our local nhs cut off is 39.

I'm ttc #4 with a new partner. I'm 41 next month. I've had 3 pregnancies since May but all turned out to be chemicals. My FSH level is high but everything else is good. Been ttc for 13 months now. Feel like I'm never going to get a sticky bean.

I Would check with your local NHS group as many places you have to be under 36 now for NHS IVF

Well I'll have missed the boat for any funding, I'm in the North West but its probably the same policy across the country. Not sure if I want to go down the IVF route. I haven't given it that much thought yet, one step at a time for me and the blood results are 1st. 🤞

@Maybebaby2 My doctor said once I reach 40 I wouldn't be eligible for NHS funding, maybe it's different in different areas of the UK? I'm in Lambeth SW London.

Just had 1st blood test today this one just to check if I ovulated this month, I'm pretty sure I did so not too worried. Next blood test for FSH is next week, it's got to be taken during AF, I'm assuming AF will arrive on time unless a miracle happens an we get bfp on 1st cycle... thats not going to happen though so yeah bloods next week.
@sabtom I dont know enough to say if that could have been affecting you ovulating but taking all those vitamins an iron to get everything at a good level has hot to be a good thing. Need to start taking some myself! Is that true about not getting any help if you are over 40?
@Nicsfh80 I've heard reflexology is meant to work wonders

Just thought another thing with me is I have a tilted pelvis and apparently that can affect ttc. I need to read up on it again because I've forgotten what it was exactly but I remember being told it could perhaps be an issue.
