Hi All,

So after the very disappointing arrival of AF this morning I am now on CD1.

I'm 34 (35 next month) and TTC #1. I have PCOS and have been referred to FC which I will be attending soon. However, I really want to fall naturally before I have to go through all of the tests etc.

Last month we tried SMEP (however we didn't manage to follow it to the letter). This month we will be doing it again (properly).

Due to O CD18 of a 32 day cycle and AF due 13th October. I won't be testing before then as I've tested early every month with FRER and the cost and disappointment of seeing repeated BFNs is not worth it.

If anyone is at the beginning of their cycle and wants some company over the next few weeks then feel free to join! Wishing everyone the best of luck x

Hi All - @Izzie94 @Happythoughts123 @Skyla01 @MotherOfShihTzus

Good to have you all on board so we can wait this out together 😊 Seems like we are mostly all of similar ages too!

My cycles have previously been all over the place, anything from 29 - 44 days but the lasts 4 months have been 32, 32, 30, 31 so I'm hoping that this the new norm 🤞🏼 I've used OPKs for the last 2 cycles and had my positives/peaks on CD17 & 18 so I'm assuming I O either CD18 or 19 giving me a 13/14 day LP which is great 👍🏼

I tried Pregancare Conception for a while but they gave me wicked heartburn so I stopped. Now I just take 400mg folic acid each day.

I can't wait to see some BFPs on this thread - I love a picture of 2 lines 😍

When is everyone planning on testing? I'm going for 14th October (assuming AF doesn't show up on 13th) seems AGES away 😩 x

@Izzie94 I really like smep because you know you are definitely DTD at the right time, and maximising ttc chances. I don't find it too much hard work. My OH and I are lucky we don't shift work or work away, and we're both happy to do lots of DTD to make a baby! This will be our 3rd cycle trying smep so I hope it works soon!

Sounds like we're similar- I'm almost 6 months in too. It's a shame we haven't become pregnant straight away like lots of my friends too. But we just have to keep trying! I'm trying not to think too much about being pregnant by Xmas. That would be amazing but don't want to get my hopes up too much.

MotherOfShihTzus · 12/09/2019 14:15

@Each2TheirOwn your cycle sounds identical to mine!! I'm 33. 34 next month, currently waiting out cycle 19 for the inevitable arrival of AF. Currently having all the fertility tests, and like you, desperately hoping to conceive before IVF. Just discovered a fibroid. I'm here to hopefully see some encouraging BPFs :)

Izzie94 · 12/09/2019 12:42

Hey @Skyla01 😊

How are you finding SMEP? Seen so many ladies say how good (but tiring) it is but least you're covering all aspects! I also came off my pill back in Feb/March, luckily my periods regulated very quickly 27-28 day cycles, but AF isn't half as bad as what I remember and it's very light! Unless my body is still adjusting.

Im on CD2 of cycle 6 for #1 🥰! Was convinced last month was my month, but keeping a relaxed approach (or trying!) sending lots of luck to you in this month! X

Skyla01 · 12/09/2019 12:36

Hi, I'd like to join you! I'm 32, ttc number 1. I'm cd7 of cycle 5. Tried smep the last 2 cycles, going to keep going with it. My cycles have been gradually regulating since I stopped the pill in March. Was disappointed to see AF this month, but very happy with a 32 day cycle. Finally in the normal range! Last cycle I didn't ovulate until cd20 so still got a while to wait.

How long has everyone else been trying for?

Izzie94 · 12/09/2019 12:33

@Each2TheirOwn Yes! Trying for number 1 and naively just thought it would happen straight away, pretty sure most my friends babies were happy accidents 🙈 I'm on month 6 after 10 long years on my pill!

Hahaha, it seems so fun at first and it's great but 3 nights in a row is so tiring 😂 oh my, I do that all the time!! Would be the perfect time for an announcement I keep thinking about ways I'd do it at Christmas it's terrible isn't it!! 🙊 Fingers crossed its our month 🤞

Hey @Happythoughts123 I'm also new to MN! Ahhh, I bet. Have you tried OPK'S? I read that a lot of ladies on here do and find it really useless, I'm yet to try them but may do in a few months if I'm still unsuccessful. I was just trying to take the most chilled approach possible.. But it consumes you🙈 Lol! Here's hoping for us ❤️

Happythoughts123 · 12/09/2019 12:18

Hi everyone @Each2TheirOwn @Izzie94 I’m new to MN and also new to TTC. 32 next month and trying for baby number one. ❤️

I have irregular periods so finding it a bit hard to keep track of it all 🙈

Each2TheirOwn · 12/09/2019 12:14

Hi @Izzie94 hope you're well! Are you trying for your first? We've been trying since we got married last 🙈 have you been trying long?

Every other day sounds like a good plan, that's more or less SMEP (without the 3 days in a row - which are tiring) lol.

I'm really hoping this is the month for both of us as we would have had our 12 week scans a couple of weeks before Christmas which would be perfect time for announcing it ❤️

I'm getting carried away with myself, I know! Lol x

Hi lovely!

Hope you're OK!

I'm 25 and I'm on CD2, after the dreaded AF arrival 🙄 I have a 27/28 day cycle. Has it been a long journey for you so far?

I've seen so much about SMEP and so many BFP's that have come out of it too on here!! So fingers crossed it'll work for you and be your month 🥰. We're just trying every other day, and as an when we're feeling it!

Sending you lots of baby dust x
