Impatience · 30/08/2007 11:00

Lissie, is that you? Hey, imagine the delight: Next month I get to put sperm in me again, how exciting! (Hold off on the anticipation: It's not like anything will come of it you know, but at least I get to torment myself for 2 weeks )

lissielou · 29/08/2007 20:44

hows everyone doing?

lissie · 23/08/2007 16:51

oh sweetheart, i found it easier to think of my ep as something that had to happen to save another babies life. sounds daft but if i hadnt had my ep they would never have discovered that my bladder was in the wrong place and i would have continued to mc indefinately.

you havent just been unlucky, that trivialises what you have been through, you have had to endure tragedy. x

My edd for my mmc is Sept 2nd. It was twins, so I can't help thinking they'd be born about now. I think I'll probably be doing the same as you next month and just not avoid ttc. I'll see how I feel at the time though. I think I'm emotionally ready. I find the idea of waiting even worse. At least when you're trying you're doing something positive about the situation. That's how I see it. Although if I got pregnant again I would be terrified.

I've been feeling quite fed up the last couple of days. I'm fed up with hearing people say that I've just been unlucky. I've had two pregnancies. The first was identical twins (don't know the stats, but surely quite uncommon) which resulted in mmc after heartbeats had been seen. The second was ectopic (only affects 1% of pregnancies and I have no risk factors). I'm not usually superstitious, but I feel like I'm destined not to have any dc.

i left it 2 cycles and got pg straight away but mc'd v early (about 5w) tbh i dont think i was physically or emotionally ready to get pg again. a laparotomy is major surgery and can take a long time to heal. i wish id waited a few more months. ikwym tho about itching to ttc again, i think we are going to not ttc but not prevent it next month then in oct when we've seen the consultant ttc in earnest again. its been nice to relax a bit (apart from my/the docs hiccup) my af has arrived a week early so im taking that as my body is getting back to normal after my last mc. i think that physically the last one took its toll more than i thought.

my edd for my ep is looming now and id be going into hospital for my cs in about a weeks time so want to get that milestone over with iykwim

Hi Lissie, I'm doing ok. I'm going on holiday tomorrow. I'm thinking about ttc again next month. I don't know if it's too soon, but I'm finding it frustrating not-ttc. From cm I think I OVd last weekend, so hopefully I will have af in about 10 days time. How long did you leave it after your ectopic? The leaflet I was given said "some doctors recommend waiting for two periods, but a good guide is when you feel emotionally and physically ready". So it's a bit vague. So are you going to ttc this month or are waiting for your consultant's appointment?

lissie · 23/08/2007 16:04

how is everyone doing? im on CD2 and thinking about resuming ttc this month, what do you think?

Lissie - phew! that is good to hear that you are getting trollied tonight, hope the move goes well too. Just one thing that crossed my mind, when my levels were still low, one person at the epu said that you can get a faint postive on a pg test at the time of ovulation!!! She said it is the same principle as why you can use ov sticks to test for pg! So don't know whether this was a possibility in your case, but just thought I would mention it anyway. Keep up the good work of keeping sain while not-ttc!

Jess - good to hear that your levels are going down as they should.

lissie · 17/08/2007 19:37

i can move in peace and get trollied tonight. still have to have bloods done on monday but...

lissie · 17/08/2007 17:32

Good news Lissie, Like you said this is why you want to give ttc a break. concentrate on the move and time will fly by. Have started packing boxes yet.

lissie · 17/08/2007 17:11

oh yes. this has just strengthened my resolve tbh.

jess1996 · 17/08/2007 17:07

That's good news. That bfp must have been a one-off. Are you still taking a break till October?

lissie · 17/08/2007 17:03

HCG levels were less than 1 so not pg. never thought id be relieved to say that!

jess1996 · 17/08/2007 16:04

ikwym! I was shaking when I called them, even though I was pretty sure it would be ok. I was a bit nervous that it would start to rise again. I thought it had to be

lissie · 17/08/2007 15:54

thats brilliant news jess. am having to sit on my hands here. really want to call them.

OP posts:
jess1996 · 17/08/2007 15:40

My HCG is down to 10, so I've been discharged and I don't have to have any more blood tests. Fingers crossed for you lissie.

cedar12 · 17/08/2007 14:47

Hi Lissie I hope blood results are good news. I will keep every thing crossed for you . I have posted on other thread.

lissie · 17/08/2007 14:33

i understand, just please take it very very easy

OP posts:
jess1996 · 17/08/2007 14:30

I'll take it easy to begin with. I'm just bored being at home by myself and I've been feeling so much better for the last couple of days. If it's too much I'll tell them and come home again! I really need to take my mind off things as well.

lissie · 17/08/2007 14:17

are you well enough? you have had major surgery!

OP posts:
jess1996 · 17/08/2007 14:16

I have to ring about 4pm.

I'm so bored today. I'm going back to work on Monday.

lissie · 17/08/2007 14:05

scrap that, doc has just rung lab and will have results at 5.
