Hello!

So after breastfeeding for 10months and not having a period since beau fell pregnant with my first baby (11.5months old) my period finally came back 16th Aug...11months after my daughter was born.
We had been trying for baby number 2 for a while but honestly it was so hard not knowing where I stood re ovulation and period. So I couldn't properly get into the swing of it lol.
Since my period returned, I have kept tracked using the ovia app, and we gave it a good jolly go all of last week when it said I should be ovulating (poor hubby didn't know what hit him hahahahah)!
I'm not expecting to be one of those lucky few (you know the ones who fall preg the first time!) but, thought it'd be nice to have some support from women going through the same journeys.

Ps, i don't know what all the abbreviations are in other threads I've seen so I may need help!

@allezallezallez we are exactly the same! something always gets In the way. Too tired, one of us feels poorly etc.

So frustrating!!

Wrigleys123 · 28/09/2019 21:54

@allezallezallez I'm in the TWW cd26 now! Actually think I'm out this month. Know what you mean about dtd I'm so tired most of the time hard to stay awake!

Good luck for your 3ww GrinWink

allezallezallez · 28/09/2019 09:31

Hi all,

Not feeling hopeful this month, same thing not able to dtd because ill or tired etc. so frustrating.

Had planned to DTD every 2 days but if you miss one then it’s 3 days and you’d easily miss O. So wondering now for next month if we should try every 1 day and if we miss one then it would be every 2 days...

Are others in 2WW now?
I’m going to say I’m in 3WW to start over...

Wrigleys123 · 27/09/2019 13:59

Hope you are ok Hayley not heard about SMEP method. Is it just shag as much as you can GrinWink

AF due next week for me so just patiently waiting. Not too hopeful as this is about month 12 now! I'd be in a state of schock if it did happen this month.

omikron · 27/09/2019 07:57

@HayleyD84 maybe do what the nhs advises and dtd every 2/3 days. Perhaps SMEP isn't helping as there's too much pressure on you both?

Sprintfinish · 26/09/2019 22:37

What's the SMEP plan?

Today should be my ovulation day and have been charting my cm this week, such a weird new hobby 🙄 so far feeling bit more relaxed about things but no doubt that'll change as the TWW begins.

HayleyD84 · 26/09/2019 21:50

Im so gutted, Tried to do SMEP plan and it should be 3rd night in a row to DTD but DH said his stomach hurts, we SO nearly did the SMEP plan
We struggle to dtd often as we are both tired / poorly or life gets in the way. I'm really shocked we've managed to do as much as we have.

I just wanted to do this plan once! To give us a chance, I know DH can't help it but my heart has sunk tonight I'm so upset

whambam89 · 26/09/2019 21:24

How's everyone doing this month? Not feeling hopeful again this month, with travelling home and post travelling tiredness we only DTD twice during my fertile window

Sprintfinish · 21/09/2019 22:26

That's so frustrating @whambam89, must have been a weird week waiting to retest.

I'm expecting to ovulate on Thursday. DP is looking forward to the week ahead 😂

whambam89 · 21/09/2019 17:23

@sprintfinish @plinkplink I retested yesterday and a BFN 😔 strange because once the other test had dried it was a really clear, coloured line 🤷‍♀️ I'm guessing it must have been an evap

PlinkPlink · 21/09/2019 17:13

Yeah wrigleys I'm on the Flo app which is pretty good. I keep an eye on my CM too.

That's good you're more relaxed this time!

@whambam89 any news? Any more tests?

Fingers crossed for everyone if you're on a new cycle 🤞🤞

Sprintfinish · 21/09/2019 15:29

@whambam89 did you take another test?

Wrigleys123 · 19/09/2019 12:24

Yeah I've heard that too plink , I'm pretty relaxed already to be honest I was less relaxed first time round as my other half was so desperate for a child!

I kind of track CM and use that to go on but that's it really. I tried OPKs but couldn't get on with them. Are you tracking or anything?

PlinkPlink · 19/09/2019 10:24

Wrigleys123 I've heard so many stories of people trying and trying. Then when they give up, it happens. Must be something to do with relaxing more? I don't know.

Are you tracking your cycle?

Wrigleys123 · 19/09/2019 08:44

I have heard about Agnus Cactus but scared to try incase it messes my cycle! I tried myo inositol for a couple of months but it didn't seem to do much so I knocked it on the head.

Vialiarooski I also can't tell when i'm ovulating so it's all down to luck I guess! CD18 now.

The longer I don't conceive the more I put myself off the idea, baby days seem so far away now! Maybe it's just my minds way of protecting myself incase it doesn't happen!

Vialarooski · 17/09/2019 19:11

Hi @HayleyD84! I feel your pain, it took us about 15 months to fall pregnant first time round. It's so draining and just feels like it's never going to happen. But it will, when the time is right everything will align and it will be the perfect time.
I'm praying I fall quickly this time around but my periods are really irregular at the moment it's almost impossible to know when I'm ovulating 😔 feel a bit disheartened but trying to shrug it off!

Anyone heard of Angus Cactus tablets? Apparently they are good for regulating periods but dangerous in pregnancy...? Anyway, thinking of trying them...

@Delphinidin hi, i'm new to the group, I was reading your message and I feel the same, I am kicking myself I waited for a second, my Son is 4 and a half and been ttc for 10 months.

If I could go back I would have tried when he turned 1.

I'm also 35 and have got a Seroma under my ceserian scar (fluid sack) which is causing problems. Just hope Ive not left it too late Sad

HayleyD84 · 17/09/2019 13:59

Hi,

Mind if I join? I'm TTC no.2 my Son is now 4 and half.
Been ttc for 10 months.

With my Son I caught first month of trying, so never even considered it taking so long. Sad

Plus you get the whole "you've got a child you should be grateful" speech allot.
Be nice to be apart of a group that get it
xxx

allezallezallez · 17/09/2019 12:43

@PlinkPlink yeah me too. Never paid any attention to symptoms but now I wish I had!

When I got PG with my first I got my dates wrong because I think I confused implantation with AF which also keeps giving me false hope. 12wk scan became 16wk. Actually made me feel a bit of an idiot. This time I will be on it!

@Vialarooski I do know that my cycle is different from before having a baby. Definitely shorter AF and more random cycle so might take some time to know what’s normal for you now? I used to be bang on 28 days, now it’s 26-32.
Totally know what you mean about wanting to get on with it. But sounds like you are still in with a chance so fingers are crossed for you!

PlinkPlink · 17/09/2019 12:21

@allezallezallez well I domt know about you but I was quite keen to ignore AF before and go about my business. It was just an inconvenience before.

Period symptoms are far too similar to pg symptoms for my liking!

PlinkPlink · 17/09/2019 12:19

Might take you a little while to settle into a cycle @Vialarooski

Mine returned 6 weeks after birth even though DS was ebf 🙈 nightmare. Then the nurse convinced me I should get the depro injection (despite me not being too keen -hormonal contraception makes me depressed). God that caused all sorts of issues. Periods every 2 weeks for about 6 months even after the shot had run out. Then I finally got back to some sort of normality. Are you entering your cycles into Flo or any other predictor?

I try to keep an eye on my CM gross but true that's supposed to be a good indicator of ovulation.

You're quite a way past your period due date though. I hope it stays that way for you! With DS I had what was early pg signs, tested -BFN. Then must have had implantation bleeding but thought it was AF. 4 weeks later I got a positive...

The body is pretty useless at giving us clear cut signs, especially when you want it more.

Vialarooski · 17/09/2019 11:46

Hi sorry I've been a bit absent! Welcome to all the new joiners!

@whambam89 I think I can see a faint line too!!! 🎉 fingers crossed for you.

I'm all over the place, AF was due on the 12th, still had nothing. Took a test on the 13th, BFN. Seeing as it's only my second period since I stopped breastfeeding, I'm wondering if I'm all out of sync? Anyone else have any experience or can offer any advice as to when things will get back to bloody normal so we can start baby making again! I feel useless as can't really predict when I'm going to be ovulating and it's driving me mad. Now we've set our minds to another baby, I just want to get on with it 😩😩😩

Thanks Plinkplink!

I know, I thought I could be chill but... nope!
And am realizing I have no clue about my usual cycle symptoms. How did I never pay attention before? Had sore boobs before last AF and could’ve sworn I’ve never felt that in my life so thought it was a sure sign

PlinkPlink · 17/09/2019 10:14

Hi @allezallezallez
Fingers crossed for you!

Mad how invested you suddenly get! Felt loads of symptoms this time around but it was nothing Confused

allezallezallez · 16/09/2019 23:36

Been looking for a TTC #2 thread, can I join?!
Have a 3yo DD and on cycle 3 of trying.
For a lot of reasons didn’t think about trying properly until a few months ago and even though I thought we would just casually give it a go I’m straight into symptom spotting! On CD6 now, time is passing so slowly to start over
