Hello!

So after breastfeeding for 10months and not having a period since beau fell pregnant with my first baby (11.5months old) my period finally came back 16th Aug...11months after my daughter was born.
We had been trying for baby number 2 for a while but honestly it was so hard not knowing where I stood re ovulation and period. So I couldn't properly get into the swing of it lol.
Since my period returned, I have kept tracked using the ovia app, and we gave it a good jolly go all of last week when it said I should be ovulating (poor hubby didn't know what hit him hahahahah)!
I'm not expecting to be one of those lucky few (you know the ones who fall preg the first time!) but, thought it'd be nice to have some support from women going through the same journeys.

Ps, i don't know what all the abbreviations are in other threads I've seen so I may need help!

I’m trying not to @littlepeaegg but I’m not succeeding! Still have a week or more to wait 😬

I haven’t tried the opk sticks before, have they worked in the past for you @rosamundos?

Bought a bbt thermometer a few weeks ago but haven’t started tracking yet

littlepeaegg · 02/10/2019 13:09

I'm realllllly trying to not symptom spot because I don't want to become obsessed!!! Anyone else?!

Wrigleys123 · 01/10/2019 15:22

Welcome Rosa hope this will be your month! Good that you have regular cycles too must make life easier.

I'm thinking about getting ovusense but not sure if it will work or not. Never got on with ovulation sticks the time I tried them.

rosamundos · 01/10/2019 12:49

Hi guys - bit of a lurker, saying hi. TTC number 2 since Jan, with 2 suspected chemical pregnancies and 1 miscarriage since then. My son turns 3 in December. I fell pregnant first time with him so was totally expecting this would be the same, and that I'd be giving birth end of this year... idiot! Am 36 soon so need to get a move on.

Lucky with a 28 day regular cycle so am meant to have OV yesterday... if nothing happens this month I think I'll start the OV sticks (prob need to DTD a bit more too). My rule is never to test until 1-2 days post missed period to ensure I don't go too nuts.

Wrigleys123 · 01/10/2019 12:22

I agree no symptoms is sometimes the best sign!

I was convinced I'd gone off my food last few days like previous pregnancy but was obviously just my cooking!

You're both still in it to win it as they say Smile

whambam89 · 01/10/2019 12:16

@wrigleys123 sorry to hear that! :(

whambam89 · 01/10/2019 12:15

@allezallezallez I feel a lot more relaxed this month because I think it's much more unlikely that it will have happened just because of timings etc but we will see! Fingers cross for you.

allezallezallez · 01/10/2019 11:22

Ah sorry to hear that @Wrigleys123
Here’s to starting over

I am torturing myself with symptom spotting as usual even though I know it’s really unlikely to happen this month. Feels too early for pms but I know it is. Am beginning to believe the thing of no symptoms being the best sign

Wrigleys123 · 01/10/2019 10:40

I'm out now AF showed her face! How is everyone getting on? Do I have to leave the thread now? Grin

Wrigleys123 · 01/10/2019 07:41

No! Started getting cramps so thought AF was on its way but no sign yet!

whambam89 · 30/09/2019 22:51

@wrigleys123 did you test?

allezallezallez · 30/09/2019 09:45

(Goes to open Ovia app for third time today to check cycle day...)

allezallezallez · 30/09/2019 09:45

Good luck @Wrigleys123 !

whambam89 · 30/09/2019 09:39

@wrigleys123 good luck! 🤞

Wrigleys123 · 30/09/2019 08:51

Morning all! Cd29 today I think I might test to put myself out of my misery, plus AF usually comes as soon as I do a test Grin

whambam89 · 29/09/2019 23:27

@vialarooski two week wait (I.e. the time from when you ovulate to when AF is due / you can test)

whambam89 · 29/09/2019 23:26

@sprintfinish I think that was the thing last month, I felt like I'd get some kind of medal if it worked first time 😂🤦‍♀️

Wrigleys123 · 29/09/2019 17:48

A twenty week wait Grin I meant 2 week wait. Not able to keep up with these acronyms Grin

Vialarooski · 29/09/2019 17:43

Can I ask, what is TWW?

Wrigleys123 · 29/09/2019 17:30

Welcome littlepea , how old is your little one? Did you try for another last year and then stop?

I don't have a plan with my OH really @allezallezallez just doing the deed whenever we both have the energy which isn't much Grin

Sprintfinish · 29/09/2019 16:52

@whambam89 I'm also more relaxed this time, hopefully stays that way as the disappointment lingered too long last month. Really wanted to be a one hit wonder!

littlepeaegg · 29/09/2019 13:51

Hello!

Thought I would join.... but trying to not get too addicted to these kinds of things as last time I ttc I got a bit obsessed!!

This is first month trying since a year or so ago. So not expecting much. I'm not using ovulation kits like I used to. I'm literally not doing anything but following an app with a calendar on where I track my period!

Apparently the most fertile day was last night so we dtd and probably will tonight just in case too!

So guess we will be in the dreaded tww!!!

whambam89 · 29/09/2019 13:33

@vialarooski "that's a lot of banging" 😂😂 it's so much harder for it not to feel like a chore this time round isn't it?!

I'm officially in the tww, think we dtd twice during my ovulation window according to ovia / flo but I just don't expect it to happen this month so I'm wayyy more relaxed than last month, although that may not last for long 😂

Vialarooski · 29/09/2019 09:26

Hi all!
Been catching up on all the comments, fingers crossed for everyone and sending all positive vibes! But I need to know, what is SMEP?

I ended up having a 39 day cycle last month!!!! Unusual for me as before baby I was 28days and very reliable. But it's to be expected after breastfeeding, being the second period since I stopped, all the hormones etc. I think it'll take a while to regulate which is an absolute pisser because it makes falling pregnant even harder!
I've bought some cheap asda ovulation sticks with the idea to test when I think I'm ovulating (gonna be keeping a close watch on my CM, joy!)

Our best bet would probably be to DTD 3 times a week but that's a lot of banging! 😴🥴 meh!

I know! Somehow in the moment I can’t fast forward to how I will feel in the 2WW wishing we had made more of an effort.

Also we haven’t really had a conversation about how seriously to try, still trying to keep things ‘relaxed’ but think we need to have that conversation. Otherwise it’s me in my head saying these are the days but can’t always motivate myself out of tiredness/stress about other things.
@HayleyD84 @Wrigleys123 have you a plan with OH or is it up to you?
