New ttc no1 thread.

BTW if anyone knows where those no1 babies are I'd like to know! If I was a real detective I think I would have been sacked by now!

BB-your doctor sounds nasty, imo. not being/feeling sick DOES NOT mean you may miscarry. i dont feel very sick at all anymore-and i didnt the last 2 times either.you will be fine sweety, and it is normal to worry about your bean-i know i am in these early weeks.

I am fine thankyou just very tired.

BellaBear · 20/08/2007 15:12

Babybratt - i didn't start feeling sick until week six or seven and I have heard other women say week nine or ten.

BabyBratt · 20/08/2007 15:09

It's me on the right, with the very camp hand!! we love wedding dresses and i cannot wait until Oct it should be a fun night.

I am just going to take everything in my stride. I go to Spain next week for a week so that should be a nice rest for us.

toomuchtimeonline · 20/08/2007 14:27

BB - Don't worry - this is where you are supposed to come when are worried! I'm sure we're all gonna feel the same when way when we get our BFPs - the first 12 weeks have got to be the most stressful ever! Stick in there and hopefully you'll be looking at a beautiful scan picture in 7 weeks time.

BTW - love the website - are you on the left or the right?

nomoremagnolia · 20/08/2007 14:14

BB ((hugs)) it's hard to let yourself believe it's going to be ok, but I'm sure it is. Stay on here as long as you like, I think I'd do the same. There's not much you can do to avoid a m/c, so please don't worry yourself - if it's going to happen it'll happen, if it's not it's not. (Don't mean to sound like your GP, but in essence he's right, just not very sensitive - still at him for that!)
Have a nice cuppa and think calm thoughts..

Just had a quiet word with myself. I really need to pull myself together.

I do not have anything to moan about. I am blessed if only for the reasons that I managed to get pg on my own (please don't be offended anyone). I really do not want to upset anyone and hope you know where I am coming from. I would be devasted if I lost it but a dear dear friend of mine was told 12 months ago that she could not have children full stop. She lost her marriage and everything. I need to get a grip.

BabyBratt · 20/08/2007 13:51

Its taken me ages to sort that site out. Technology is supposed to make my life easier.

When you do get on - the first shot is me and claire we had great fun we had to wear wedding dresses and pretend to write invitations.

BabyBratt · 20/08/2007 13:44

Hi Scorpio I am not sure how I am feeling my pelvis feels heavier and I have boobs like lead weights. I have been weeing more and I get headaches more than ever but I do not feel sick or any other symptoms. I really want to feel ill so I know it is real. My doc said a lack of symptoms could mean I may miscarry.

I know every woman is different and reality I am not even 5 weeks until Wednesday. I still keep peeing on sticks. I am seriously going weird in the head. I sound so ungrateful but I really am scared. What is wrong with me I should be wanting to shout it from roof tops instead I've turned into a paranoid, ungrateful mare.

I lived for my bfp now I am just praying its a sticker.

toomuchtimeonline · 20/08/2007 13:31

Babybratt - stay forever!! You belong on here pregnant or not ! and try not to let that horrible doctor get you down! It's awful that you can't enjoy your BFP now that you finally have it!

Tried the website but it was temporarily unavailable it said

"The web site you are trying to access has exceeded its allocated data transfer.
Access to this site will be restored within an hour. Please try again later.
"

Hi Scorpio - how are you doing?

scorpio1 · 20/08/2007 13:24

Hi BB, how are you feeling??

BabyBratt · 20/08/2007 13:23

Hi Macaco you are definitely in the best place for support.

I have just about forgiven the DH. But I was very close to screaming.

We are hosting a wedding dress ball in October I've just built the website for it. Check it out and see what you think www.freyabridalball.co.uk.

I think we have all been envious of pregnant women in here. I think you would be lying if you said you didn't get upset. Men do not understand a womans desire to have a child. One day I am sure everyone of us will have a lovely bump that will make everyone jealous. I am in denial at the moment because that stupid doctor has made me so so so paranoid. He has me convinced I will lose it.

I really hope you don't mind me staying in here. I don't feel like I quite fit in the ante-natal threads just yet until I know it is a sticker.

toomuchtimeonline · 20/08/2007 12:06

Hello macaco welcome to our little group - Tell us about yourself - we're very nosey on here Are you new to MN or just new to the TTC threads?

I'm ttc my first - into month 3 of trying after 15 years on the pill!

It's a good bunch on here - all very supportive!

macaco · 20/08/2007 11:44

Hello...can I join?

second month ttc after coming off pill (but only on it very briefly) now cd 35. last period was 32 but before that could be 30 to 35+ Still no period but am getting vague backache so think it might be on its way. If no sign in about another week I think I might do a test...oooh excited emoticon!

toomuchtimeonline · 20/08/2007 10:55

You have a very understanding DH Nomore!

nomoremagnolia · 20/08/2007 10:51

DH knows about my MN habit and at first he was a bit annoyed about it but as I've told him more about you guys he understands now. When I want a moan/support he says to me 'do you want to talk to me about it or do you want to talk to the MN girls about it?' You're all a normal part of our household now you know!

toomuchtimeonline · 20/08/2007 10:34

Nomore Thanks for letting me grump I gave up telling my DH all the ins and outs of my feelings as he thought I was a psycho when I was reading pregnancy books 6 months before we started TTC and therefore I sort of hide my true obsession..

Does everyone else tell their DH about their MN habit?

Rattling I think we're all normal feeling the way we do about other people's BFPs! THe only difference is that most people have to internalise it whereas we have MN to vent on!

nomoremagnolia · 20/08/2007 10:22

toomuch grump away

I'm v. lucky as DH knows exactly how I feel about pg ladies! He's quite supportive of me being / I think he feels it a bit for himself but mostly it's because he knows it upsets me so much. Part of me wants your DH/Ps to understand for you and part of me doesn't as it took DH a long time to feel the / himself, which is not nice for him and I hope you get you BFPs before that point (am I making any sense this morning?)

The admissions here about jealousy over pregnancy announcements from good friends have helped me hugely as I've faced 3 in the last year. I am SO pleased and excited for them all - but my first feeling is always and a bit . DH would be appalled if I admitted it to him, but then he hasn't followed the ups and downs of my cycles for over a year and a half - or dealt with the hormones. I am happy to let myself scowl at pregnant women I don't know.

There was another repeat of Heroes last night. Meant I was quite late into bed for a Sunday, but well worth it.

toomuchtimeonline · 20/08/2007 10:06

Morning girlies!! Was at a wedding over the weekend so struggled to get online.. Wedding was great fun though - bride was absolutely gorgeous!!

Babybratt -can't believe how rude your dr was.. I do wonder why these people go into such professions when they clearly lack all human empathy!! Have you forgiven DH yet?

Nomore - I've just had another good friend announce her BFP after 1 month of trying - she doesn't know I'm trying and was all smug about how provided you put everything together at the right time it just works - I'm really pleased for her but it sort of makes me feel a little bit like a failure - Deep down I know it can take a long time but it's hard hearing how easy other people have it.. sorry being a bit of a grump this morning!

Ready - Let me know what you decide on the vitamin front - I'm only taking folic acid at the moment but debating whether to start taking a multivitamin.. mmm - decisions decisions!!

Fi Glad you survived your tests - fingers crossed that the results are positive for you! How did your mini-glasto go?

Everyone else - a murky monday morning salute to you all

Hi all

Fi you had a perfectly normal reaction. My DH used to have exactly the same reaction.

My DH brother and girlfriend came over last night and ended up staying up getting drunk and loud until 4am. I am sooooooo tired I could have killed DH because he promised me it would not be a late one last night.

They have only just left. DH came home this morning from Tesco and said he'd bought me everything so I could cook the sunday dinner!! seriously how generous is my DH. DH and his brother went out to football. He is now asleep on the sofa having got drunk and eaten a full sunday dinner. Trying to keep my cool!!!!!!!!!!

nomoremagnolia · 19/08/2007 20:11

fifi I totally understand the jealous/pleased thing - you are welcome to unload here anytime, we're all in the same boat and you guys have listened to me moan on enough times before! Don't be too cross about your DH's reaction, men seem to take a much less interested role when ttc than ladies do and he's just trying to say and do the 'right' thing by your friends. I don't think men invest as much emotion in ttc as we do - some men I know haven't even felt part of things until after the baby has been born. Hang in there

Ready How are you? Do what you feel you need to with the vits, it's not going to be the end of the world is it? It was just (for me) another one of those things that was becoming a 'ttc habit' and I tried to break all of those. I wasn't training particularly hard at the gym, or trying to lose weight, or having my long hair cut short, or buying nice new clothes, or changing jobs etc etc just in case I got BFP, DH had a v.v. good bottle of whiskey he was keeping for 'wetting the baby's head' which I persuaded him to start drinking and I was taking so many different vitamins that were supposed to help with ttc and I got all superstious about these things and I felt I'd put my life on hold for this never appearing pg, so I broke all the above 'habits' (except I haven't got my hair cut yet and I still take folic acid)
oops long rant!

everyone else Where are you? Have you all left the country?

OP posts:
fifilou · 19/08/2007 10:35

also.........

Just wanted to say a big thankyou to you al for your support. Its great having you to 'talk' to. No one else seems to understand.

We went out the other night and our friends announced they were having a baby. I was so jealous (didnt show it) and when i told Dh he said, oh dont be like that, be pleased for them!

I AM pleased for them, im just jealous

fifilou · 19/08/2007 10:33

Hi!

sorry I didnt get back until now, but its so hard with work at the mo!

docs was fine- didnt pass out, had boys with me so it made me behave and toughen up! (maybe I should always take them with me!)

Well, results back in 7-10 days (doc had said 5!) So its just a waiting game now. Ivedecided to just have fun and not think about it. Busy wk ahead, my niece (17) coming to stay and acoming to work with me, builder friend coming to plaster rooms in our house(it makes such a mess boo hoo)big party on sunday to get organised for, so am off in a min to strat sorting bits and bobs.

We are having a mini glastonbury! Our friends are coming and performing on a mini stage! And a BBQ.

Ready · 18/08/2007 12:57

Congrats on the 58 nomore yay!!! Upwards and onwards It won't be long now!! It's funny that we both thought of Geek the other day. I hope she is doing well

I have to say, I have been a bit of a snob when it comes to pregnancy vits. I am probably daft, but I only use pregnacare, because there is no added salt, no yeast, not tested on animals, no preservatives, no gelatin or gluten, no sugar, no starch (Rattling (good to see you) I was like you, stood in the aisle scrutinising )- am I being foolish paying double for pregnacare just for these reasons?

Gilly - What does starflower do? With regard to the wellwoman, I know we shouldn't just believe what the packet tells us (look who's talking!) but if they say "all you need for conception" then legally they have to have researched all ingredients. However, I would say, if in doubt, take something different. It's so difficult to know what to do. I was just taking folic acid, but thought the multivit would be a good idea for health in general and not just ttc. How are you?

Rattling - Hope you got to see the repeat of Heroes!? How are you? I know what you mean about the cost of vits, I have DH on selenium and Vit A,C,E and zinc. Bless him. I feel like Nurse Ratched at meal times

Fi - How did you get on? Hope you are ok?

Toomuch... Meant to say, I agree with you about B&S - it is sickly sweet, but it's just so comforting

BabyBratt - Had a sneaky peek at your pic. I cannot wait to even take a pregnancy test, let alone have 2 lines on it. Congrats again!

WHo have I missed?? I can't keep up with who is still here??
