@mrssunshinexxx Starting my holidays from work next Friday the 6th. Scan the 9th to check everything(bit nervous about that but at least i'm getting my O/PMS pains investigated) Portugal then on the 10th for a week. Back to work on the 19th. Due to O between the 7th-11th so perfect timing. Will get most of the TWW over on holidays so I'm planning on not thinking about it once on hols. Smile It's so great you OH is going to be there for your whole Fertile Window. I'm going to do SMEP this month too and even a bit extra if we can the more the better I suppose Smile

@lorns01 Try keep busy. I've literally planned my 2 weeks before holidays with workouts, spin classes and activities to take my mind off TTC. We are on the same number of cycles and also TTC no 2. I've also said I won't post much this month but I find the support great but the BFP's hard as they are not mine. I'm going to do SMEP too and maybe even extra if we can for good luck.

@mrslaurenbrown The CB 4 day O tests are the best to use. I used them for a few months and pinpointed my Ovulation to CD15-18 My cycle varies between 27-30 days( I have a 13 day LP)but now I use Cheapies just so I can confirm what day I did O so I know when to expect AF. I get O pain so can nearly pinpoint the hour!! The cheapies can be hard especially if you have longer cycle. With CB you use FMU too so you only test once a test. If you buy a pack of 20 on Amazon its cheaper. You could always start testing and SMEP on CD 10 and hopefully you will get a static smiley and get your BFP. If not then next month at least you will know what day you O so you can start testing a bit later to use less tests. I'm on Cycle 8 TTC no 2 its just not as easy for some people so don't get disheartened.

Hi @MrsD0147 x
@mrslaurenbrown sorry to hear about your miscarriage, if I was you I would definitely just take the splurge if you can get 50 for a fiver on eBay it could be that they are not very good ?! X

MrsD0147 · 27/08/2019 15:31

Hi again! I am trying to take it easy in September too but still crossing fingers it is our month Smile

mrslaurenbrown · 27/08/2019 15:05

@lorns01 @mrssunshinexxx thank you both. I know what you're saying it does feel like a splurge to get clear blue when eBay is like 50 for a fiver. I'm on cd18 at the moment and no positive. I have longer cycles and 'Clue' thinks I'm due to ovulate tomorrow. We did conceive in June which sadly ended in mc so I must ovulate. It is frustrating not knowing exactly when but smep hopefully is the best way to go!

mrssunshinexxx · 27/08/2019 14:41

@mrslaurenbrown I definitely recommend the clear blue opks they are expensive but worth it then atleast you will know if you are ovulating quite conclusively, I hope you are ! Xx

lorns01 · 27/08/2019 14:34

@mrslaurenbrown about the OPK strips. I've been using the cheapo amazon ones since Feb. Getting a positive on day14 but trying SMEP this month so decided to splash out and try the Clearblue ones. They're half price on Amazon at the mo x

Each2TheirOwn · 27/08/2019 14:34

Thanks @mrssunshinexxx sounds like I'm not the only one with a busy few days ahead! Good luck to you to 🤞🏼 x

lorns01 · 27/08/2019 14:29

Thanks @mrssunshinexxx
Sending you lots of good luck this month x

lorns01 · 27/08/2019 14:27

Thanks @Sophieb15 for your kind words. It's sometimes difficult to think rationally and positively when emotions are involved isn't it. I'm in work tomorrow so hoping that'll be a good distraction.
Having blood tests on Monday then my GP will refer me for testing as I'm 40.
Are you taking a more relaxed approach this month? I'm gonna try and chill and then try SMEP from CD8

mrslaurenbrown · 27/08/2019 14:24

Sorry I meant January 2019

mrslaurenbrown · 27/08/2019 14:22

Sorry to jump on this thread but I have been ttc since January 2018 and only once had a positive opk. I use the eBay ones. Has anyone else had this experience? We are doing the sperm meets egg plan but without a positive opk this just means we are doing it every other day without a break 😂

mrssunshinexxx · 27/08/2019 14:13

Good luck @Each2TheirOwn

@Sophieb15 so jealous you have a 2 week holiday this really could be your month you are going to be sooo relaxed !

I'm feeling good can't believe hubby is actually gunna home at the right time this month flow says I'm on my fertile time now so going to start today my plan is to dtd tonight, tomorrow, Friday, Sunday Monday and tues if he's still home if it's the same as last month I am due to O on Monday eeeeek can't help but think it could actually happen this month x

Each2TheirOwn · 27/08/2019 13:54

Hi All,

CD17 today and got my peak OPK this morning so it's all systems go over the next 3 day and then a long, impatient wait until it's time to test, around 11th/12th September 🤞🏼

Hope you are all well x

Sophieb15 · 27/08/2019 12:55

@mrssunshinexxx Hello Took a day off from Mumsnet and prob won't post as much this month. Going to follow SMEP as much as I can this month. CD 3 only but I've holidays in 2 weeks time so that's taking my mind off everything. How are u?

@lorns01 I felt like that sat and sunday as if it was the end of the world. But as I keep telling myself once you give yourself every chance each month and DTD around O day then there really is nothing else we can do. There is only about 25% of a chance each month of conceiving even if you do DTD every day of fertile window. It is literally out of our hands. People who get pregnant straight away are just really lucky!!!!!

mrssunshinexxx · 27/08/2019 12:49

Hi @lorns01 sorry to hear you are struggling it is so difficult

Welcome @Sunflower2019 can I ask what videos you are watching they sound interesting ?
Lucky month September for all of us x

Sunflower2019 · 27/08/2019 12:26

Hey everyone,

Have been trying for 2 months, currently on day 2 of af! Already feeling disheartened as thought I’d fall pregnant straight away! Been using opks to track ovulation and premom app, ovulated last month and dtd quite a lot but didn’t happen this month so will next be due to ovulate around 12th September and be able to test end of sept!
Last month was convinced but I wasn’t pregnant, have been watching a lot on YouTube which has given me an insight into symptom spotting and realised you don’t get symptoms until implantation!!!
Hoping sept will be the lucky month Flowers

lorns01 · 27/08/2019 12:11

Hi ladies
Popping over from end of August bus. Mother Nature arrived today 😤
Aged 40
TTC #2
8th cycle
CD1
Fertility testing process starting this month

Feeling quite low today. Decided I won't post much this month, need some other distractions to stay sane. Will watch on the side lines. Good luck ladies xx

mrssunshinexxx · 27/08/2019 07:39

@Rainey910 hi x
For my first 4 cycles I just went off apps and I was getting so fed up I wasn't getting pregnant so although they are expensive last month i bought clear blue opks and I really recommend them it made me realise I had been getting my fates all wrong so far my dh works offshore so it's quite tricky for us but this month he is due to be around more so hoping we will catch on x

OP posts:
Lauralozzle · 26/08/2019 22:56

@rainey910 I use opks, I find them useful as although my cycles are regular I sometimes have odd ones where they’re longer/shorter. Through using them and temping i realised I ovulate later than I thought as I only have an 11/12 day luteal phase.

Pinkslink17 · 26/08/2019 22:35

Joining!

Rainey910 · 26/08/2019 22:11

Hi there,

Fairly new to all this but I’m at:

Age 29
TTC#1
Cycle 4
CD5
AF/BFP due 18th September

Had a very faint positive last month followed shortly by AF. I heard two pregnancy announcements today, which although is wonderful is hard to take at the moment. I never thought it would be this all consuming and it is still really early days for me.

I thought about trying OPKs this month but I am worried that it will just put more pressure on an already stressful time. My stress levels are generally quite high with work etc anyway.

What are your thoughts on OPKs? Worth a go? I have natural cycles but don’t always remember to measure temp first thing.

Lauralozzle · 26/08/2019 10:07

@Tamalama I think I’m going to try and be more relaxed this cycle too.

@twbmod sometimes I ovulate CD13 when I have a shorter cycle and will get EWCM CD11. Sometimes I get EWCM up to 5 days before ovulation.

Urgh, I hate AF and stupid cramps! I will not let them interfere with my day today though.

Twbmod · 26/08/2019 09:33

Is it possible to get EWCM at around CD 11? Can people ovulate around CD11 or CD12??

My period are usually 27 to 30 days apart

Tamalama · 26/08/2019 09:31

@mrssunshinexxx Ahh that's great news that he's more on board now 😊
My plan is the same as last month, just track using opks and dtd around that time. Trying not to plan it too much. Just trying to be more relaxed this cycle and what will be will be... x

Lauralozzle · 26/08/2019 09:11

AF has started properly now so time for stats

Age: 31
TTC # 1
Cycle: 4
CD: 1
AF/BFP due: 23/09/19

Really weird, temps not dropped yet. Spotting yesterday but full AF this morning. I imagine it’ll drop tomorrow- it’s been very warm and that probably has something to do with it.
