Thought the old one was getting a bit full so I'd start a new one. I'll attempt tagging as many as I can

@flossy12 did you have any symptoms?

So if (big if I ran out of tests so don't know if I did) I ovulate late will that delay AF?

Hi everyone, hope you don’t mind me joining in. I’m 29 Teacher, married for two years to my OH. By TTC journey so far: Normally very regular cycles. I went off mini-pill (was on it for a month and a half so we could have a drink on holiday) on 15th August. Had my withdrawal bleed 2 days post 15th and DTD most days (1-2 day gaps at most). I’ve been feeling very odd over the last week an a half (cramping for two days when AF was due) and was sure I ovulated on 24th (mucus check) too. AF is 7 days late - just did a Clear blue early detection and said negative this morning. Hope my body sorts itself I am confused, and feeling disappointed ☹️. Only cycle 1 so I shouldn’t complain but it would just be such a relief to have my AF and know that my body is back to normal so I cant start tracking properly. Anyone else in the same boat? Wishing you all the best for this cycle! 😊

flossy12 · 07/09/2019 09:37

@ELW85 thank you 💞

ELW85 · 07/09/2019 09:36

@flossy12 - they are very definite positives! Congratulations!

flossy12 · 07/09/2019 09:14

ONG OMG OMG OMG

OH doesn't believe it says we have to go get a clear blue!! 😱🥰 I'm in shock!! We were going to do a lil video of us reaching to the test and DSS went came over and picked it up before we had chance 😂👏🏼

Cannot actually believe it! Hardly any symptoms at all! 😱😱😱😱

Hey @Lozzlepop so good to hear from you and sounding positive! Lake District sounds amazing! Xx

Hi ladies 👋🏻 how are we all doing? Hope I haven’t missed anything? We are just back from a couple of blissful days in the Lake District and home feeling refreshed! Called EPU at the start of the week, they are going to refer us to the recurrent miscarriage clinic so fingers crossed that we get our referral appointment this side of the year 🤞🏻

Absa · 06/09/2019 07:36

Hi @Whatnext11 . I think if you had a reading 48 hours ago it's worth DTD today / tomorrow. The SMEG suggests on the day of positive OPK you DTD, and the next day and the day after. Then miss a day and DTD again. I think this is just to cover you because OPKs show O but that can happen anytime 12-72 hours after positive.

That's my understanding, I could be wrong. But I think at least once more is worth it just to cover all eventualities!

Whatnext11 · 06/09/2019 06:23

I hope you don't all mind me asking yet another question! This fertility stuff is so complex, it's a wonder we manage to get anything done when our bodies are so busy internally!
I had a peak ov reading on a clearblue test 48 hours ago, and I'm just wondering if that now means ovulation is over, or if I should keep doing the deed today /tomorrow? I'm temping too, but that isn't giving me a accurate enough picture, as I missed a few days. TIA

Whatnext11 · 05/09/2019 19:35

@MrsH497 wow that's early!

Motherofkittens28 · 05/09/2019 18:01

Hi all, AF arrived today so I am out for this cycle. Fingers crossed for the next one!

MrsH497 · 05/09/2019 10:57

@Absa the only advantage is at 11am I've only got 3 hours of work left!

Apps are good at general monitoring but OPKs definitely better. I had my high readings 5 days after predicted ovulation on apps so reckon AF will be 5 days late or so

Absa · 05/09/2019 08:43

@MrsH497 those sound like tough hours 😴 bless you!

I had a look at my Clue app this morning and about 3 cycles ago I had an abnormally long period after I had taken some northisterone tablets. So I clicked "exclude" this morning as thought I'd see what a difference it made to the app ... and it reckons I O a few days ago compared to previously predicting tomorrow!

Oops!

Have also been doing OPKS and not had a positive yet this month so was thinking it would later today or tomorrow but maybe I've missed it all together.

We DTD 2 days ago and 2 days before that so hoping I may have caught it if this is the case.

However I know from reading all our posts that sometimes we don't a positive OPK anyway and sometimes the apps are wrong!

MrsH497 · 04/09/2019 20:20

Hey ladies how is everyone? Alarm is set for work the next 2 days for 3am!! Feel under the weather tired/achy/coldy due to what I now affectionately call the cycle of mystery no idea what DPO I am!! I'm CD25 (better than last months 24 before AF!) AF due Saturday but didn't get a high ovulation until CD17 who knows!!

Anyone due to test?

OP posts:
Whatnext11 · 04/09/2019 20:12

@kiza yes she said book it by the end if the week or Monday at the latest. Who knows! I booked tomorrow so I'll just do as I'm told! And I'm to book another blood test next month too. Think I'll time that one for 7 days before AF from what others say above

Kiza · 04/09/2019 19:47

@Whatnext11 it's bizarre isn't it how most women I speak to don't have 100% regular cycles yet the nhs assumes we all do 😆
Apparently I'm being tested for a while list of things along with the ovulation test.
Are you being tested in the next couple of days then?

Whatnext11 · 04/09/2019 18:50

@kiza I'm glad it's not just me! She seemed to look at me a bit funny when I said I had no idea when my periods were apart from the last couple of months! I never needed to track them before! I really don't know if I've booked it right but decided I'll just go and see. She didn't book OH for anything but is referring us to a pre conception clinic where I imagine they will do a whole load of bloods etc. Such a nightmare!

Kiza · 04/09/2019 18:46

@Whatnext11 I'm in the same boat and had a massive meltdown on the phone with the GP as they were so vague and told me to go to a walk in centre to get the bloods rather than GP and I was so confused as to when I should be getting the bloods as they just kept saying cd21 but I told them my cycles vary. Ended up doing tons of online research to finally understand, it's hard to know if your cycle is irregular when 7 days before your AF is so fingers crossed we both catch it.
I also don't know how quick we get the results back but online advised to ask for a print out rather than just accept their 'everything's ok/not ok' vague answer.
My partner is also having SA at the same time.

Whatnext11 · 04/09/2019 15:22

Thank you for your advice, that makes sense as she said my cycle sounded like 28 days but i've only been recording this for a few weeks. Last AF was,17/08, one before was 17/07, one before that was 13/08 but tbf I wasn't recording properly in June so that may have been spotting. In which case if I say I am due AF 17/9 then any of the dates she suggested seem too early! Maybe I'll just go with it and see!

ELW85 · 04/09/2019 15:11

@Whatnext11 - the day 21 blood tests are to measure progesterone and check if you’re Ov.
You’re meant to take the blood sample 7 days before AF is due (so I did mine on CD 18 as I had a 25 day cycle, for example).
Don’t think about your peaks, as women who don’t Ov also get an LH surge.
Get your bloods done 7 days before AF is due. Good luck!

MrsH497 · 04/09/2019 14:25

@Whatnext11 from my limited understanding it's more down to your ovulation and cycle pattern than being exactly 21 days I'm sure other ladies can correct me though.

OP posts:
Whatnext11 · 04/09/2019 14:15

I wonder if anyone can help, I've seen the GP and asked for a referral to fertility clinic, and she has booked me in for a blood test. Today is cd19 and I got a peak reading on a clear blue this morning, and a high reading the last couple of days. She wanted me to book the blood test by the end of the week or Monday, so I've booked tomorrow as I think they need to see the hormone showing as peak, and it could be gone by Friday & definitely Monday! I read elsewhere that this is called a 21 day test but I'll be cd20, assume that'll be ok? These things seen to go round and round my head at the moment, and no one to ask!
