Sorry for delayed response, hectic week at work! Managed to have my Accupuncture session this week as due to ovulate next week and I loved it, zened out! Early night as up again at 5.30am 😴
@ELW85 I'm guessing you must be having an early night too if you've been up since 5.30 also?

@Larrydavid - just seen the Japan comment 😂 if I had to put money on why, that would be it!! It can certainly delay or prevent Ov!

So you didn’t have a temp shift? Did you do anything differently this month, either with temping times or major travel, exercise regimes etc?
No temp shift usually means an anovulatory cycle, but it’s usually caused by something.
It could also just be a very slight temp shift.
Could you post your chart?

Evening ladies! I'm so exhausted, been on a course all week and fly to japan tomorrow - desperately trying to get all my work done this evening before I go!

Apparently I'm 4dpo - my temp never did any major dropping or rising. Is this normal? Any temping experts out there ? @ELW85 ?

@Lozzlepop I'm putting on location location location! Also, thought you'd be pleased to know that me and my partner managed to sneak in some DTD - not in a tent this time - but determined to keep to our smep routine (for all the good it's doing 🙄) he came to my air b n b whilst I was on my course, I snuck him in, then it all went terribly wrong when he got cramp! In my head it was going to be romantic - it wasn't, just hilarious 😂 - I don't think there's much chance that our timing was right this month!

@MIW01 thank you so much! I do to, the waiting and not know is the worst bit, also the trying not to conceive has been more challenging than expected 😂

@Kiza yes fortunately she already has a 5 year old but she had a break down over WhattsApp the other day cause she desperately wants another one. I couldn't bear to tell her about our situation.

@ValidUser I did wonder when reading through your posts after what GP told us as progesterone is what makes the pregnancy stick. She said that even if DPs sperm does manage to fertilise the egg I may not have enough progesterone to make it stick. I did have this big black clot (sorry if TMI) in 2nd cycle so hit Dr Google and got BFN when tested but this would make sense if it was a fertilised egg that never stuck as it only produces HCG after implantation. Hopefully they will find an answer and get you your sticky bean!

@Redmarchingband will they still operate if you are pregnant?

@ValidUser you’re helping by talking though so that’s great. If it makes you feel any better, I came off the pill in June 18 but didn’t actually have a period until March so I understand how you feel in terms of how long it’s taking. I’m only 24 but have lots of medical issues so wanted to give myself the most time with a baby. It’s leg surgery so DH is worried about rehab if I’m pregnant but I think it’s manageable. Kudos to you for remaining positive - your time will come and it will all be worth the wait

@Redmarchingband I may not be much help. I'm on cycle 16!

I'm lucky to be 29. I did have to take 2 months off because of fertility surgery, but there was no decision to be made there as such.

Without extracting info you don't want to share, it probably depends on the surgery, your stress levels, your age and what having the surgery with a young baby at home might mean.

@ValidUser This month is cycle 7. My period came a week early last month so I’m not sure when I’m going to ovulate - today is CD18 and so far all my OPKs have been negative this cycle. If you have any tips I’d be really grateful

@Redmarchingband sometimes self-sympathy and empathy are warranted! That's a really tough decision. What cycle are you on? X

Have found out tonight that I need to have major surgery in the New Year - not sure whether to put TTC on hold if this month doesn’t work out but then I keep telling myself that no one knows the future etc. Sorry to derail the thread, I just need to vent I think. It’s all I’ve wanted for so long and I don’t know what to do for the best I’m sure I’ll snap out of my pity party tomorrow when I’ve had time to digest

@Kiza we know he has decent sperm count, morphology and motility but he needs to get dna fragmentation done (if we're doing ivf).

In the coming weeks, I need a thrombophilia screen and we both need karyotyping done.

@ValidUser completely understandable that it feels overwhelming, I know some people don't necessarily class CP as MC, however I feel it's important to. Has your partner been tested for anything?

Just had a call from my gynaecologist. He plans to investigate me for recurrent miscarriage.

Overwhelming to hear it phrased like that, but good to get checked out.

@Kiza definitely 🤞 I have family history of early menopause on both sides of the family and my sister has just been diagnosed with at age 31 so I am holding on to hope! That's why I insisted we both got tested.

@MIW01 well with me being 39 and him being 35, let's hope year number 2 of TTC happens for us 🤞🏼

Sorry I've only just caught up with the full 25 now 26 pages of this thread and a lot has happen so apologies if I get any of this wrong!

I'm now 34, TTC #1 this month is 4th cycle, regular 28-29 day cycles. I have low progesterone, all other hormones 'normal'.

@Kiza my DP has 'sluggish swimmers' with 'a few funny looking ones' according to our GP. But she didn't seem too concerned. I've put him on wellman conception supplement and we're both on a low carb, whole foods nutrition plan. He is v. Fit and healthy, I think the main thing for us both is stress management.

GP informed us that average time TTC is 6 months up to age 35 then increases to 1 year and 80% couple conceive within 1 year and 90% with 2 years unassisted.

@Lozzlepop , we were very lucky and didn't have to wait at all for our blood tests/ SA. I just had to wait until my next CD21. We also got the results back within a week.
The wait for the fertility clinic may be longer though, we forgot to ask that 🤦🏼‍♀️
So frustrating that you have to wait that long, I remember my friend in Nottingham had to wait 3 months for her blood tests.

@Kiza glad to hear that you got your results back and all is ok on your side and at least you have some form of answer, glad the clinic dr was more understanding of the situation. How long did you have to wait for your appointment for blood tests etc? We are 3 weeks into our 6-8 week wait for a letter, not that I’m counting 😏

@ValidUser I know exactly what you mean, it’s almost bittersweet I know I can get pregnant but the last 2 times haven’t made it past 6 weeks and it’s so disheartening. We just need to stay strong and believe in a positive outcome ☺️

@MrsEG I'm glad to have a plan, but nervous because I'm not sure ivf would change much.

I'm coping. Most of all, I'm tired of all the drama of TTC. I'm sure many can relate!
